Web Template format won't export properly

We have built several web templates as dashboards for our users. Typically the templates have a chart at the top, with two data tables next to each other on the page.
When we export to PDF or Excel. All the objects appear vertical, one after the other down the page so that the two tables are no longer next to each other horizontally.
I have tried to search the forum and the SAP help for a solution but so far nothing makes sense.
If anyone has any tips or steps they could share that would be great.

Hi,
Create a new web template with reference of 0ANALYZER or 0WEBANALYZER. In this you will find the option for export to excel.
Else you can copy the HTML code from the template for Export excel option.

Printing Web Template - format.

Experts:
I'm having an issue with printing a WEB template.
I have set the information broadcaster to send via email a PDF format of my web template result.
I receive the email but it has 10 individual pdf files as attachments. Each pdf file is a single query in my template.
How can I get a single PDF file that looks the same as when I execute the template in the web?
I need to distribute the template results via email to multiple individuals.

I'm seeing all 10 but not at the same time. If I page through it I can see them one at a time. Not all together in a template.

BI 7 Web Templates: Problems with csv-export

Hi all,
I am aware that a csv-export out of a web template is associated with excel, meaning that the export in csv opens in excel.
Nevertheless my problem is, that in the course of the export process several blank columns are inserted.
So when I afterwards open the file with the "windows editor" for example I have a result like
PLZ;;;45133 where I expected
PLZ;45133
Has anyone an idea?

Is there a hierarchy involved?
If yes, then the blank spaces are inserted due to the hierarchy. When the hierarchy is drilled down, the blank spaces are inserted to show the hierarchy structure. Unfortunately, this is standard and cannot be changed using standard BW functionality.

Sequence won't export properly

Hi. I'm working on a montage piece with 4 video tracks and about 6 audio tracks. I've used Composite Overlay on all the video clips.
When I go to export all I get is a file of few seconds of black.
In the same project I have another sequence without multiple video tracks or overlays which has exported fine.
Any ideas what's amiss?

Are there any In or Out points marked in the sequence?

Emailed links from updated web newspaper-reader won't print properly.

I use an online newspaper-reader (attempts to mimic the actual look of the printed paper), and I sometimes email article links from it (either directly or via their "send to someone" function). While the links do lead to copies of the article which look fine -- just like the original -- on screen, they now truncate severely if printed -- including all photos. This also happens in IE, so it does not seem FF specific. The newspaper-reader's purported "support" is basically non-existent, so I was hoping one of the creative folks here could suggest a way to get these to print OK once again. Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

Export WEB Template in Excel in WEB Interface Builder

Hi Experts,
is it possible to add a web template with the pushbutton "Export in Excel" in a web planning layout?
So i have to do a web interface with a planning layout under which i have to insert a web template and a pushbutton with "Export in Excel" functionality.

Hi Fabio
This is possible in Web Application Designer. In the WAD you have an option of selecting the "Export" command that allows you to select the file format you'd like to export to: Excel, csv, txt or PDF.
So you could consider pulling your layouts/queries into WAD and use this option.

BI admin cockpit - how to install the BI content Web templates

Hi Gurus,
We have installed BI admin cockpit. we have also installed Bex required queries. now I wanted to install all web templates (SAP format 3.x) in BI content. after installing I checked WAD but I cannot see them their also when I go to metadata repository I cannot see templates, I only see this message:
"Object '0QUERY_TEMPLATE' (0QUERY_TEMPLATE) of type 'Web Template (Format SAP BW 3.x)' is not available in version 'A'"
Is it maybe we are on SAP 7.01, what would be the steps to install the web templates successfully?

If you have installed Admincockpit , then the corresponding web templates should be available in the system .
1. Anyways if the web-templates are missing , then try to run the admincockpit installation once more using the
tcode - RSTCC_INST_BIAC and check whether you get the webtempaltes in 'A' version or not .
2. If the webtemplates are still not available , then you can install them manually in tcode - RSORBCT.
a> Go to tcode - RSORBCT.
b> Locate the field Query Elements . Drill down to Query and then select "Select Objects".
c> In the new pop-up window , locate the "Business Information Warehouse" and then drill down to "BI Statistics".
d> You can find all the Statistics infoproviders under "BI Statistics" and the queries build upon them .
e> Select all the queries for a particular infoprovider and then select transfer .
f> After the required queries have been transferred to the third window , select the option 'DataFlow Before and AFterwards' under the Grouping Tab .
g> After the grouping has been done , you can check that the web templates associated with the query have been collected .
h> Then choose install .
i> Repeat these steps for all the Statistics infoproviders .
j> This will make all the statistics webtemplates available.
k> As the Statistics webtemplates are 3.x , you can execute them in SE38 report - RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN for testing .

Problem when exporting Query from Web template to Excel Sheet.

Im encoutering a problem when im trying to export query output from web template to excel sheet.
A popup windown appears when excel sheet opens which reads.."problem cameup in the following areas during load : Cell Value".The report layout appears to be fine but the totals shows unwanted values starting with * followed by number.
Any valuable inputs, what could be the problem. where can i rectify the same.

Thanks for ur time and response but the option u mentioned did not serve my purpose.
The problem seems to be only with pirticular cells.As mentioned earlier the layout appears properly..all the values are seen..but the end result..totals are disturbed.
eg: If the report shows in template the total value :20,668,554...when exported the values is shown as **668553.88000000600000.
So what could be the problem ? any template setting ? global setting to look at ?

Export Web Templates to PDF

We would like our web templates exported into PDF format. Is this possible? If so, does anyone have instructions? Thanks!

There is a white paper on the BW Info Index about this.
It basically involves using the full version of Adobe Acrobat, which allows you to create a pdf from a URL. I've had varying degrees of success with this. You don't get much control over formatting. Process is also difficult to automatate.

RSRT export to Web Template

Hi everybody!
I'm using Netweaver 7.0 and WAD 7.0
In RSRT1 i can launch a query and choose to display it as HTML, and then when the query is diplayed i hit F8 (Browser) so it showed to me as a web page.
So, the question is, if it is possible to save this presentation of a query as a Web template. The point is, it's displayed so well, with charts and other useful stuff, so i'd like to use it as a Web template. There is a possibility to export it to Excel ot to CSV, so i thought there may be a possibility to export to WEB.
Any ideas??

I think the default template used is the version 3.5 0ADHOC, you can load the default template in old WAD and change the DP to any query you want and save the template. Then you can use that template.

Problem exporting to excel when using embedded web templates through WAD

Using web templates designed with WAD, we are experiencing an issue when trying to export excel when using embedded web templates.
We have set up tabstrips within our templates that load other templates (embedded into the global template).
Upon right clicking on any query and choosing "Export to Excel", any query that is in one of the tabs using the embedded web template item does not show up. Any queries in natively in the global web template will export and show up fine.
Any thoughts on how to enable something like this, or workarounds to make this work? We decided to split up these templates for performance reasons and can't go back from that decision. Also let me know if you need a better explanation of what we're trying to do.

Hi SDBI,
Is this in place of loading a new template per tab? We are using container layouts in all of our templates so we can link things into tabstrips as well, we have just split up some templates to be embedded into tabs for performance reasons and data locking.
Also when exporting, we are looking for all of the items displayed at that time to be exported, however only the items from the global template show up, not all of the displayed queries. For example, anything outside of the tabstrip will export perfectly, but since the query embedded into the template the tabstrip is loading is not part of the native web template, it does not show up.
Seems like a tool limitation to me when embedding templates?

XML Import/Export of Web Template

Hi, I'm looking to move a Web Template from Production to Development and I'm thinking of using the MetaData Repository XML Export/Import Functionalty. My only concern is that is might not pick up the Binary Objects Generated by the template to store Chart Settings.
Does anyone have any experience with this so? Again my concern is the Binary objects.

You cannot export Web Templates using XML. Only Objects for which there are Supporting BAPI's..

Template page won't display on the web.

One of my web pages was saved as a template and won't display graphics when uploaded, just code. It has the extension dwt. I thought probably what I should do is make
an html page copy and use that. I don't know how that is done, or if that would be the best solution. Any help would be appreciated.

You should never publish your Template.dwt file to the web except to have as a backup in case your Template ever becomes corrupted or lost.
Templates are a proprietary DW file type used to create the rest of your site pages. Go to File > New Page from Template. Select your .dwt file and hit create. The resulting new page is a child page based on that main template. Save as index.html (your home page). Repeat with other site pages.
Add editable content to each of your child pages. Everything outside Editable Regions in the template will be populated to all child pages -- very handy for site wide menus, headers, footers and sidebars.
When you edit a template, you must re-publish all child pages based on that template to your server.
