Web template print

Hello ,
When i execute a web template , the exceptions defined in the report shows the colour display in the screen, but when i print the page it does not show me the red colour or green colour which is defined in the exception.
can some one help me please!!
is it the problem with the properties in the internet explorer or with the web template?

Hi
It is a Settings in your Internet Explorer. Under Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and scroll down to Printing, make sure that Print Background colors and images is selected.
We had the same issue here...

Default Margins on Web Template Print Version

Hi all,
I am trying to change the default margins on a Web Template Print Version. I have created a command button on my templates which sets all the other options on the Export Dialog, however I am unable to set margins using the command parameters. The margins are always defaulted to 20mm. I would like to default them to 6mm so that users will not need to change them for each print.
If this is a configuration setting I am unable to find it. Do I need to modify a standard template or iView? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Web template print color

Hello Experts,
I have print funtionality in the web template. I am using the printer class Z_PRINT_HELP_SERVICES. In the print preview, the table is in black & white.
Am I missing some configuration for printing the table in color ?
Is there any alternate way of printing the web templates.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi,
Well setting that many number of pages in one page looks difficult, and the size of the report will be so small that you will not be able to see anything properly.
But, while setting the command for conversion to the reqd. format, you can set options like "Fit to Page, Poster etc.."
Try using those options.
If you are using a Button to set the template for printing, in the properties of the Button, you have to name it and set a command of what it has to do. Then there will be a pop-up and choose "All Commands". In that choose "Commands for Web Template". Choose "Export Web Template".
In the next screen, give the reqd. inputs like setting paper type, data binding, scaling.
Also, here you can specify things like Fit to Page and Poster.
Try using this also.

Excel printing of web template

Hi,
I am in version 3.5. I tried to implement SDN How-To paper "How to Web printing Quickstart in SAP Netweaver ;04". Applied transports, and used ZWT_ADHOC web template to launch a report.
When i try "Excel Printing", it doesn create bookmark URL, but nothing happens afterwards

Use two different printer services in one web template?

Is it possible to use two different help services for printing in the same web template (for the same table item)?
Print1:

I was thinking that you maybe could change the param name values for the "Help_service" and the "help_service_class" at runtime using the properties for the table item, so that you could choose which one to use, but I havne't been able to do that so far.
Does anyone have an idea?

This is not a problem. Just put the print service for the print to excel on an object other than the table web item. As long as these print services exist on any web item, you should be able to invoke them. I've tested this with putting the "Print with Excel" service on the Navigation Block Web Item and the other print service on the table web item. Hope that helps!

How to print a web template in background

Hi experts,
i want to print a web template which includes 4-5 Queries over a background job for different Profit Centers (for example, for all Profit Centers that are in Region Europe)?
How can i simply achieve this ?

web template have a variable, that is Profit Center
Now user wants to give on web, only Region = Europe, not Profit Center. (Region is an attribute of PC)
Then he wants to have for each Profitcenters in Europa (let say 50 PCs) a seperate printout.
Now he should call the report 50 times for each profit center should click on Print Button...

Need help for Lightroom Print&Web Templates

Hi,
I have just downloaded/installed my official Lightroom version (Mac OSX 10.4) and I have realized that there is no Print nor Web Templates accessible in the Template Browser section. I think I have done a mistake since I have erased completely the files from the beta4 version (including obviously the libraires containing those templates) before installing the official Lightroom V1.
Can anybody tell me where/how to get those original Adobe Templates files again. I have tried to re-install several times the V1 version but it does not help. Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Which Web Templates for printing and broadcasting

Hello,
we are running NW2004S SP10 with the Portal. We are using the web template 0AnalysisPattern and within this Web Template is a button called Send (for Broadcasting) and another called Print Version (for generating a PDF-Document which can be saved and or printed). This all works from a technical point of view good.
My question is now how I can change the layout of the PDF-File of the broadcasting PDF and also for the Print Version PDF? I do not know which Web Templates has to be changed. Could anybody please help me and give me this two Web Template names. Normally it should be possible to change within this templates the layout of the generated PDF-File, or am I wrong? I am very confused at the moment and need urgent help.

The big answer is one you wont like, I suspect, which is that it takes TIME to get to understand the way 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN works, and then to progress to understand how to change it. That process took me several weeks, I started by documenting how the different parts work, I can let you have this document if you like, that will save you about a week.
Moving on from that, specifically you need to understand how to access the EXPORT command from the Exel and PDF buttons, then you can see the Web TEmplate that is used to control the output. You know, I could tell you in detail (and if you search SDN you will find more detailed answers to your question) but there really is no short cut to understanding how it all works.

Printing on Web - web template with multiple queries

Hi.
Trying to print to PDF from the Web, when I have more than 1 query in the web template, using Tabs.
When the report has been run, if I select the tab for report A and then Print, I need report A to be printed. Similarly, if I have selected the tab for report B I expect report B to be printed.
Is this possible without resorting to HTML coding direct? If so, can you tell me how, please? I have no problem printing single queries, the issue is how to print different reports without having several Print buttons. If it CAN only be done by HTML coding, could you send me some sample code please?
As well as offering points for useful answers, I can also offer my Word document where I have broken 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN in to its components, with screenshots... I have found it invaluable.

The answer was to use the Tabstrip web item... although I still have to define a set of buttons for each tab, only one set is visible at a time, which is fine

Printing problem in Web-templates

Can you please help me out with my WAD printing issue, please?
I have some reports designed in SAP BI using WAD. Some of the reports have data tables, where as others have data tables as well as graphs in them.
When I right click the reports with graphs and data tables, and choose option "Print Version" from the context menu, (to generate a PDF) I get a standard pop-up (where I can do my print settings), but after I click OK, I donot get the pdf generated out of the report.
The funny thing is that the printing (pdfs) works OK when there are just data tables in the report. I have checked the properties of Web-items/web-templates but havnt found anything wrong with the setting.
There is no setting as such for printing/generating pdfs that I could find for web-templates.
Have you had such a problem before? Can you help please?

PS: There are some other reports which my colleagues have developed for another sub project and the printing works absolutely fine !

Since PDF print is working for tables,it looks you have ADS installed correctly.
I would ask you to refer to note 1069368 and check the supported and unsupported PDF prints.If this does not resolve the issue then as per note 1052659,check the default trace file.This should give a vital information on what exactly the issue is.

Fonts in web to print templates

The design your printed piece applications on sites like minted.com and moo.com use fonts like Helvetica. These sites allow users to edit embedded fonts in design templates they select and then generate print-ready PDFs. Helvetica and many of the other fonts prohibit editing embedded fonts.
Where does one go in Adobe to get a license for this sort of application (in our case using Adobe Scene 7's web-to-print module)?

Printing Web Template reports

I have a requirement. First one template should be created with a check-box listing (say) 10 web-template names.. And when i Check first 5 reports and click 'print' button, the output of the first 5 web templates should be printed.. is it possible that this can be done?

The problem here is that Reports formats pages based on the dimensions given in the section property palette (take a look in the property palette for the body section - I bet that you'll see a height of 11 and width of 8.5). So as far as Reports is concerned you have only created one page (or six pages, or whatever).
Now, when the browser takes the html (I presume that you're outputting in html format), then the browser is taking the reports output and rendering it, which leads to the problem that you're seeing (you may get a different number of pages output). This primarily occurs because html is essentially a single page medium.
There are a couple of solutions you could try:
1) Use a different format that supports multiple pages for a single document. The obvious choice here would be pdf.
2) Use the page streaming functionality (run the report with PAGESTREAM=YES on the cgi command line). This will result in only one reports formatted page at a time being returned to the browser, but will mean that the user needs to print multiple times.
You could also try increasing the size of the page dimensions in the builder, but this isn't really a maintainable solution (you'll always hit a limit at some point).

First check whether you have change authorizations for WAD, check you user name is added in the role for web templates and also check the authorizations.
then in the web template in the menu bar go to view option ,select web items and properties , so that you can find them in the left hand side, then replace the chart item with the table and assign the query to the table.

Printing Web Template - format.

Experts:
I'm having an issue with printing a WEB template.
I have set the information broadcaster to send via email a PDF format of my web template result.
I receive the email but it has 10 individual pdf files as attachments. Each pdf file is a single query in my template.
How can I get a single PDF file that looks the same as when I execute the template in the web?
I need to distribute the template results via email to multiple individuals.
