Web Version Layout Vs Professional Client Layout

User specific layout saved in Web version can be utilized in Professional client ?
I saved one layout in web version but same thing is not appearing in professional client with same user ID.
Can anyone guide with steps?

It's not currently possible to share Windows and web client layouts. Why? I can only guess that it's because it would be a technical feat since the output is drastically different even though the basics are similar. Good user request though! I sincerely mean it since its all stored in the same DB.

  • Fireworks or Indesign for web page layout?

Hi, I've currently ordered CS3 Web Premium and it won't ship
until tomarrow, and I don't know whether I should cancel it and get
    the Design Premium instead.
It all depends on whether Fireworks is a must have for web
page design. Does it offer anything invaluable that I need that
Photoshop Cs3 won't already fill? I saw the tour for InDesign and
was impressed how you can create amazing page layouts and how you
    can export them to XHTML.
I probably won't be using Adobe Contribute as I prefer making
my own WYSIWYG editor in asp.net for my webpages, because I don't
want to buy a new license of Contribute for every web page I make
for a different client, so the choice of whether I should leave Web
Premium and get Design Premium rest on whether Fireworks is more
useful for webpage design and whether creating web page layouts
with InDesign is worth paying the extra money for (I don't mind
using it to create computer software manuals as well).
I appreciate any input on this matter. :)

    Excellent clarifications, DWD.

  • Using liquid on web detail layout breaks template

I am using an if logic tag to hide text if a web field is empty in the web detail layout but it breaks the template - none of my content holders in the page template are rendering.
The actual if tag is doing its job and hiding the text.
If I render the webapp to a normal html page with the if logic tag, the template does not break.
I read somewhere in the documentation that all the tags must be rendered in liquid.
Is it not possible at this stage to add liquid to the web detail layout?

It will not be a bug because liquid works in detail layouts and everywhere just fine.
Can you post the code as it is likely you have an error.
You DO NOT need to do all liquid - Please ensure your not reading old documentation about the old liquid, what we have now and what was done previously are quite different.

  • A problem displaying PDF file in the Web Browser layout.

  • Web Dynpro Layout

I am trying to create an application for calling Adobe interactive form in Web Dynpro ABAP, however my problem is that I am not able to see the Web Dynpro Layout in the VIEW in transaction SE80, the message appears on like the one on internet explorer 'This page cannot be dispalyed'. I checked the settings, but I am not able to understand what is missing in the system. Please help me on this issue.

Incidentely while the layout designer area is nice, you can do 100% of your work without it.  You can use the Tree view of the UI elements on the right side of the screen to add/delete/move items just fine.  Sure you lose out on the WYSIWYG preview, but you can still work.  So while it is good that you fix your problem (and it should be quite fixable with the suggestions given) you don't actually have to wait until you get it fixed to work.

  • Modifying / Moving objects in Web Dynpro Layout

    Hi.
Can someone tell me if it is possible to edit buttons or other objects from Web Dynpro layout? If it is possible, how can I do this?
When I say edit, I mean move button/object to certain location or make size bigger.
I know I can do this in Adobe form layout, but I am hoping I can keep adobe form separately from buttons, so off-line Adobe form will not have buttons.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    John

    Hi John,
There is no property by which the size of a button can be changed. Although the text can be varied by using property "Design" of the text elements.
As far as position is concerned, The button can be placed anywhere according to user requirement. The simplest way of doing that is creating a toolbar and creating right aligned or left aligned buttons. or by just using the properties of the layout you are using.
Check the [Layout documentation|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/47/af8841349e1909e10000000a155106/frameset.htm] for more details

  • Web Dynpro Layout cannot be displayed

    Hi Guys,
I am a beginner using Web Dynpro technic and I would like to know if there is a configuration need to be made to Internet Explorer or in SE80 to display the layout correctly?
For example, I created a text element in a view and in the Layout Tab the Web Browser always tells me that "This program cannot display the webpage"
Is there a special parameter to set up to enable Internet Explorer to display the Web Dynpro Layout? I cannot really find documentation on the subject actually.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
    Sylvain

I post this every once in a while, but everyone should be aware that having to make an entry in your hosts file is NOT normal. I know a lot of people post that as solution, but if you are having to make an entry in hosts file to resolve the URL of your ABAP AS then something is wrong with your network configuration.  Your basis administrators should work with your network administrators to get a proper DNS entry setup for your ABAP system. Surely you don't expect that all end users accessing you WDA applications will have manual entries in their hosts file.

  • Web interface layout u2013 Standard refresh button

    Hi there
In our web interface layout, we have got a button which has the label  <%=otr(UPWB/REFRESH)%> .
This looks to me  the standard Refresh button. When we click on this button it actually save the data in the database.
Is that what the refresh button suppose to do.
Any suggestion/advise will be greatly appreciated.
    kind regards
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,
it seems that the wrong OTR text was assigned to the 'save' button. <%=otr(UPWB/REFRESH)%> belongs to the submit button that only sumits the data to the server to update the plan buffer. So check in transaction bps_wb whether the correct button was used in the web interface.

  • How to end date or inactivate Web ADI Layouts

    Hi,
I am trying to hide or suppress Web ADI layouts, help me how to go about it.
    Here are the details..
In the Integrator - "General Ledger - Journals" , there are several layouts. I wanted to hide all them except two.
One option is to delete unwanted layouts, but I may need these layouts for future.
So I don't want to delete them.
Is there any provision to end date or inactivate a specific layout.
    Help me.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I am afraid but it looks to me (in R12) that there is no valid date or enabled flag in the underlying table. So in default the only option would be to change the layout name to something like "** do not use **".
As an alternative you can offer a direct webadi link to the users with predefined layout name (last step in the create document wizard). In this case the user can not change it anymore.
    Hope this helps a bit.

  • Execute BPS planning function on opening of web planning layout

    Hi all,
Does anyone know how to execute a planning function automatically at the moment of opening a web planning layout in a BPS web planning folder(tx code BPS_WB/BPS_WIF0)?
This was possible in the old BPS planning folder, but does not seem possible in the web planning folders?
    Thanks,
    Rael

    Hello Rael,
    Basically you have 2 options:
    - Use the same trick as in the how to paper "How to call a BPS Web Interface with predefined variable values" (see service market place, alias BW, then BI Planning). In the BSP page you do not set a variable value but use the BPS API to execute a planning function (just call the function module API_SEMBPS_FUNCTION_EXECUTE). When using the url parameters in a similar way as in the how to paper you can call different function modules for different web applications.
    - You can use the application class in the web interface builder and call the function in the "on load" method. There is a how to paper describing how such a application class can be used (Validate key figure values in manual planning - web). Note that there another event is used and thus a check AFTER input is done.
Well - the second option might be a little more elegant but I think the first one is definitely less complicated and less work...
    Best regards,

  • The unassigned symbol # appears in web excel layouts in one specific cell

    Hello all,
I've got a problem with some web excel layouts where when I open them the symbol # appears in cell F11.
It does not happen to all the layouts we have created, just to some of them.
The fact that this symbol comes up means that in order to perform their work the users have first to delete it from the excel, then once they have saved their data the symbol comes back up. It's like as if the symbol was saved in the master excel template. The thing is that it only shows on the web. If I launch the very same layout from BPS0 nothing comes up and everything works perfectly.
Has anybody come across anything like this? How can I get rid of it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Francesco

    Hi,
One possible reason is '#' would be part of master data for characteristics that drive the layout and some transaction data exists.Else whenever you leave the selection for characterictic open in the level this would occr in the layout.

  • Can we run 2 version of same full client on the same desktop

    Hi Friends,
We are in the process of upgrading our Hyperion Planning environment from 9.3.0 to 9.3.1, Some our our users utilize the full client for Reporting Studio and Analytic Administrative Services Console on their desktop. While the upgrade is in process, the users will need to access both versions. So, with that in mind, is it possible to install and and run the 9.3.0 and the 9.3.1 version of the full client for Reporting Studio and Analytic Administrative Services Console on the same dekstop at the same time?
    Please suggest.
    Regards.

    Hi,
You could use the java web client version of AAS then you wouldn't need to be concerned about running 2 clients.

I am not totally sure but Financial Reporting studio may be backwards compatible to version 9.3.0

  • How to open Word document in Forms Web Version

In the Client-Server version of Forms 6i, we open a Word template by executing the Host command like below,
    host('WINWORD.EXE'||' '||ltrim(rtrim(v_new_filename)));
How do I execute the same in Web version to open the Word template?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I have gone thorugh the examples on OTN. Here's my requirements :
In our case we are opening a Word template file from the server machine, making some changes, and saving it back to the server machine. The name of the template file, the location to be saved is all internally handled by forms. In the client-server version, allthe user does is hit the Save button and close the Word application.
In the Web version, I can open the template file in the browser from the server. The user makes the changes & is then prompted to save it to his client machine. After that the user closes the browser & then has to click on a save button which moves the file from the client machine to the server.
This extra process of saving the Word file to the client machine bothers me as the users can make changes/delete the file on their own before hitting the Save button on the form. BTW, I have borrowed the code mostly from the OTN website.
So is there any way to avoid this step to saving to the client m/c and then moving it to the server. Thanks.
I am running forms 6i on 9iAS on WIN 2000.
