Web View Installation Error

Dear All i am trying to install the webview on UCCE 8.0 and having the attached error. Please see the logs file i tried to find the issue throug this log file but un successful.

Not sure what is wrong, but you could start with the first big error that shows up in your log:

Crystal Reports Web Viewer Control Error

I have a very odd problem that I am trying to solve. I was able to dumb the problem down to the Crystal Report Viewer control. I am using the control in an web user control and using that control in a web page. The problem is that when I use the control inside a web user control I get the following error:
A string is required here. Details: errorKind Error in File Client_Info {D911348D-2CAA-49F8-B77D-1288E7D5ABA2}.rpt: Error in formula Project_Labor_Multiplier: 'if ' A string is required here. Details: errorKind
However, when I use the control in the page itself I do not get that error. I have tested the report via the design/preview in the VS IDE and it works fine. I have about 30 reports and they all fail like this if they have a formula. If they do not have a formula, they work fine. They do not fail on my personal development machine, but they do fail on our test server. So this is VERY hard to identify and fix.
All that I know is that the formula's are causing this. They do not occur on my development machine (win7 64-bit) and they do occur on the the test server (winServer 64-bit)... but NOT when I put the Report Viewer control directly in a page and not in a user control.
Odd stuff. Not sure what is going on here. Why would nesting the viewer control in a web user control cause this? This was migrated from an application written in 2005. So maybe the RPT files from 2005 are causing this?
Any thoughts as to what might cause such an odd effect on Windows Server?
Any suggestions or thoughts would be very much appreciated. This one has me stumped.

Some thoughts on the issue:
The error is thrown with a 64 bit runtime, but not 32bit. Iu2019m guessing that on your development computer, you may be testing \ running from the .NET IDE. E.g.; Cassini, which runs in 32bit process. On the server we're running in a 64bit process.
Since it is a formula throwing the error, I wonder if you are using any Crystal Reports User Function Libraries (UFL)? If these are compiled as 32 bit, they will fail when run in a 64 bit process. Or, these libraries must be deployed in addition to the normal CR runtime. Failing that will also cause formula errors.
Are you able to run this app from IIS on your development computer as a 64 bit process (e.g.; HTTP, not Cassini or file system)?

Try to search for SAPMMC.DLL in the installation direccrtory anc copy it to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and then register it using the command REGSVR32 SAPMMC.DLL.

Smart View installation error with windows 7

Hi,
We're running into an error when trying to install Smart view client (v11.1.1.2) on Window 7 PCs (32bit, w/ Office 32bit) which states the following:
"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
We've been getting this since a recent MS security update (We want to say June's), any one else getting these or know a way around it?

You probably have one of the other Office applications running - remember, Office is not just Excel and Smart View works with those other applications too - and / or it's open invisibly. If you open task manager and look at Processes you may see an instance of EXCEL.EXE (for example) even though Excel isn't visible as an application on your desktop.

if not you need to add them to those paths.

Web Module installation error in snow leopard

I have work with several web module plug-ins with lightroom.
I found that when install a web module by double click the plug-ins icon (the plug-ins is inside a read-only dmg). it shown error below.
Lately, i copy the plug-ins on to desktop and double click to install. The error will gone.
It seem have problem with lightroom copy plug-ins from a read-only media.

How much available hard drive space do you have currently?
Make sure you have all your important data backed up. Something you should be doing regularly but especially when you are making a major change to your computer like a software update or in this case a software upgrade: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
Use a soft cotton cloth and make sure the SL disk is nice and clean.
Follow this article to boot to the SL disk and run Disk Utility Repair Disk to repair the drive: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417
Once the repair completes successfully restart the computer and attempt an install again.

You can absolutely do that.
Check the class: CL_BSP_MESSAGES
Also if you want to find out the exact Message Class and Message Number, go to table T100, type text in field TEXT, you will get Message Class and Message number in fields ARBGB and MSGNR respectively.

IIS is7.5, AppPool is Integrated.
I have tried below, none of them works:
1) Add it only to system.web\httpHanders. Changed AppPool to classic, still got hidden error.

According to your description, when you use reportviewer control, you got the error message: The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file.
To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Click Start, click Run, then type InetMgr.exe and click OK.
Click plus sign next to server name to expand it.
Click Application Pools in left pane.
In Application Pools list, click DefaultAppPool.
In the Actions pane, in Edit Application Pool section, click Edit Settings to check the Pipeline mode.
Configuration settings for the HTTP handlers are specified in the system.web/httpHandlers element and the system.webServer/handlers element. of your application Web.config file. The handler specified in system.web/httpHandler is used by Internet Information
Services (IIS) 6.0 or IIS 7.0 in Classic mode, whereas the handler specified in system.webServer/handlers is used by IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode. To use IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode, you must remove the HTTP handler in system.web/httpHandlers. Otherwise, IIS
will not run the application, but will display an error message instead.

View Report in Web Viewer Error

I am using Eclipse 4.3 Kepler with BIRT 4.3.2 on a 64-bit machine running Windows 7 and Java 8.
When I select Run -> View Report -> In Web Viewer I get the following error message:

Setting up BIRT Viewer to work with a local instance of (say) Tomcat, using a workspace that Tomcat can access, etc., is not quite the simple solution I was hoping for.
We do use BIRT Viewer to render our reports in our application - and we use the Ant "sync" task to update reports (from an Eclipse workspace to a Tomcat webapps context) during development, which is a good workaround for when a BIRT report is already wired into an application that can (in turn) be used to invoke the report. (You do not even have to re-start Tomcat to see the changes, which is cool.)
What I was hoping for was a standalone solution whereby a developer does not need to be running Tomcat (or any other Servlet container) with BIRT Viewer deployed, etc.
I am sure that at one time the BIRT Viewer feature worked out-of-the-box, but I could be wrong about that.

Parenthesis in a parameter throws error in Crystal Reports Web Viewer.

The application that I am working on is passing a parameter which contains user data like section numbers....
So when we pass the value 123.1(a) , here what is happening behind the scene of CR viewer
webSource0.AddParameter "promptex-NAMEOFPARAMETER", "123.1%28a%29"
and it throws up the following error
"The syntax of the value for prompt 'NAMEOFPARAMETER' is incorrect. Please correct the syntax and try again"
I have no idea why it is throwing up this errror.... and we cannot avoid parenthesis.
It works without any error in the actual crystal report developer.
Is this some kind of bug or is there any workaround for this.

I figured out the answer. It was the ASCII notation for double qoutes which was confusing crystal.
%22 is the ASCII for ", but it is then converted to %2522 which confuses crystal
so I used HTML notation for double quote instead of %22 and is converted to %22 , and it works fine.

Adobe Acrobat 9 Installation Error 2? *Updated*

I just purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 for my office and I'm having issues installing Acrobat 9. All other applications install, etc: Photoshop, Dreamweaver. To get ready I uninstalled all my old CS3 software and used the CS3 clean utility from Adobe. Then I searched all my files and registry and deleted all leftover files and registry entries.
I restarted and began to install my wondrous new CS4! Everything went well until the end of the installation. I got an error saying Adobe Acrobat could not be installed. It gave me the below output, basically put: "Error: Error 2". I then went to the support site and installed the Adobe Air, Adobe Support Advisor. After a quick check of the "Creative Suite Product Install" option it returned, "The module found no solutions to report for the selected log file.".
Adobe Installer Error Info:
"Sorry you are experiencing trouble with this installation.
Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional (At install, older versions get upgraded. A l'installation, les versions plus anciennes sont mises à niveau. Bei der Instalation werden ältere Versionen aktualisiert.)

I don't know what to do now. I desperately need Acrobat installed for my business. I have searched the support site up and down and have found no information on the issue. I did find a support issue which says, "Acrobat 9 is not installed as part of Creative Suite 4 on Windows (XP 64-bit, Vista 64-bit and 2003 Server 64-bit): Adobe Acrobat 9 fails to be installed as part of Adobe Creative Suite 4 on Windows XP 64-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit and Windows 2003 Server 64-bit." However I have an x86 (32bit) system. Hell, I even tried to install the Windows KB update file and it wouldn't let me due to my system being 32bit. Link to the issue below:

I then also found a user who reported the infamous Error 2; however sadly he did not have the exact same issue although similar. He too ran the analyzer application and it also found no errors. He is also running a similar setup to mine (see specs below). He gets the same error when trying to install the other applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, etc... To this day his issue has not been taken care of. Link to his issue is below:

I have figured out the solution to the issue on my own. I usually have the print spooler service disabled on my work PC to combat intellectual property theft. However, I remembered that I once had an issue installing Adobe CS3 Master Collection (Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro). The older generation Adobe software (Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro/CS3) displayed the error that the print spooler service was not started and provided a solution. What is really strange is that the newer software (CS4) simply gives no description of an error and simply outputs "Error 2".
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro included with Adobe CS4 Master Collection will not properly install if the print spooler service is not enabled and started! After the install you can disable the print spooler service as usual, but it is necessary upon installation to have it running. In addition, Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 (Free Edition) will install and perform as usual with the print spooler service disabled. I suggest putting this information on your site for others who may experience the same issue in the future.

Exchange 2010 Installation error

Hi All,
I'm at my over 10th installation of Exchange 2010 server and it is the first time I have to admit that I can't resolve the issue i'm faced off ;-)
Here is some info about my issue. The installation is on a Windows 2008 R2 (Virtual) sit on a Windows 2012 R2 server with Hyper-V and it is a fresh vanilla installation that I'm trying to install for the 3rd time. Each attempts returned me the same error
at the same steps.
The Exchange installation is a typical, common, CAS, Mailbox and HUB installation without any particular configuration in the setup.

I Googled every single point of failure indication and I didn't get reliable fix or work around.
I used ADSI edit to see if the IIS folders are there and yes they are except the EWS one which is mentioned in
the error message. Forest, Domain and AD have been prepared as it should, DCDIAG doesn't return any problem and the security has been set
properly for Legacy migration with an Exchange 2003 organisation.

Well, here is a status of what I did.
After running the Cleanup tool, I ran the Exchange server setup again without re installing anything and I got the same error and I have found .NET issue in the application's event logs (Event ID 1111 .NET runtime optimization service with this error code:
- Error code 0x80029c4a =
Cannot Load Library); . Why that? because there still Windows Kernel Mode and User Mode .NET 1.11.
So I uninstalled them and ran the exchange setup again. It failed a the same point but nothing in the application log that time.
Going further to see if it is a .NET issue, I re installed from Windows Update the .NET
1.11 packages (Which are required prior to reinstall .NET 4.5) restart the server + re install version 4.5.1 and ran the setup again without the two available security patches for .NET 4.5.1. Guess what, same issue. No .NET error and no specific or related
log except the Exchange setup installation error.
From the MSExchange Management log, i have found that 2 errors are logged each time I run the setup:
Cmdlet failed. Cmdlet Install-ClientAccessRole, parameters {DomainController=powerhouse.parasuco.com, UpdatesDir=E:\Updates, ExternalCASServerDomain=webmail.parasuco.com}.
Cmdlet failed. Cmdlet New-WebServicesVirtualDirectory, parameters {WindowsAuthentication=True, WSSecurityAuthentication=True, InternalNLBBypassUrl=https://mtl1ex01.parasuco.com/ews/exchange.asmx, DomainController=powerhouse.parasuco.com, Force=True, GzipLevel=High}.
So it seems to me to be a IIS and security issue. Again, All other IIS virtual folders have been created without any problem. Why does the setup can't create the EWS one???
