Web Viewer links through https ?

I'm working with a client on their DPS apps and they want to install Web Viewer features. Now I'm not completely familiar with the technical ins-and-outs of the Direct Entitlement server and its requirements, but they mentioned their IT department isn't happy with this feature running off insecure http protocols, in stead of https. (All their web services run on https.) Does this remark make sense ? Did they overlook some option in the implementation of it all ? Or is https support indeed still something to be waited for ? (Many other services of DPS are supported by https.)

Hi Sanoosh,
There seems to be a routine problem with Adobe on HTTPs even when it says HTTP/HTTPS in dataconection.

    Hi Experts,
I have created a web service for my offline interactive form. The connection works fine if I give Communication security as "None" in transaction SOAMANAGER. But it doesn't work if I give HTTPS as Communication security. Will adobe forms work with HTTPS connection using web service?
In my R/3 server HTTPS port is open.

  • Embedding web viewer in an https page

It seems that there is an another problem.
The webviewer is embed in a https page. The index.html is calling the frame : src="http://contentviewer.adobe.com/s/...
If I replace with https it doesn't work anymore.
So the question should be :
How to embed the webviewer in a https session? ;-)

    Hello Bob,
    This is the context :
    - My client try to embedd the webviewer in an https page.
    - We specified the URL in the account admin with the correct landing page URL.
    - We took the bridgedemo files from adobe and replaced the stings with the correct parameter (from the share e-mail from the app)
    - When we go to the page, the webviewer says : "not authorized to see the content"
    - In fact, the URL param. is not correct > the space is interpreted as %20 and it need to be %2520 (as the URL form the share email)
    - If i manually change the src url with %2520 (the first problem) it launch the folio and i can see the content. That works in Chrome
    - But in firefox it doesn't work. Maybe the problem is because it's an iframe calling an http page in an https?
Another problem is even we change the url parameter in the source code (index.html) the query stay with %20 and not %2520
    when we inspect the file.
Maybe can you take a look? I can PM the URL.

  • Jump to interactive webi viewer using OpenDocument?

We have a number of webi reports linked through the the enterprise portal using the opendocument command.  These reports also have additional opendocument links to jump to detailed reports.  All of this is working fine but we would like to be able to jump to the interactive mode of the webi report rather than the default HTML viewer.  Is there any way to do this?
The default web intelligence view format is set to Interactive in CMC.  I have also found a document indicating this can be done using sviewer=interactive but unfortunately it does not work.  I have found other documents indicating that the sviewer parameter is only applicable to CR.  The sOutputFormat does not appear to have an option for interactive.
We are on BOXI3.1 FixPack 1.3.
    Thanks,
    Kelly

We are still using BO XI r2, but the sViewer parameter has been working for us.  We open a majority of our documents in the interactive viewer, building the URL from a custom Java EE app.  We have deployed the InfoView EAR to a Java EE application server.  Here is the format of the URL that we are using:
    http://<server>/<context-root>/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=<webI doc name>&sViewer=Interactive&sPath=[<document folder name>]&sOutputFormat=H

  • Can I create a web-viewer only app?

I have previously created an iPad Newsstand magazine/app, with a web viewer link also embedded into our website for non iPad users.
I have now been tasked with creating a mini interactive mag with a very quick turnaround - so possibly not feasible to get done and pass Apple compliance in the deadline given. Is it possible to create a web viewer only version of the app in the first instance, without going through Apple process. Enterprise-signed not an option as would require to be hosted on a public website.
From everything I've read so far, I don't think this is possible - but thought I'd put it out there before I give the powers-that-be a definitive "no" :-)
I have enterprise DPS license, and Apple developer and enterprise licenses too
    Any input welcome
    Many thanks

    Hi Neil, photoburst
Thanks for your replies. It might be academic now as timeframes/workload have made this project unfeasible - however, for future reference, can you confirm the method for doing this?
Am I correct in thinking that, once I have created an Adobe ID for the publication, I would go to Application Accounts, omit completion of the Store Settings & Device Viewer sections and just configure the Application Accounts - Content Viewer for Web section - then provide my web programmer with the appropriate web viewer parameter and Account ID?

1st: The folio's Ptotect Off at Folio Producer (DPS Dashboard)
2nd: Publish or Update the folio
3rd: Mail button at the folio protect-off on Viewer app.
4th: The Web view Link is showed in the mail message.

  • Regarding Web Location link

    Hi,
when checking content in from IPM, there is a Web Location link displayed in the content information page of UCM.
In my case, the Web Location link is https://localhost:16001/imaging/faces/Pages/UrlTools.jspx?ToolName=AWVWR&DocumentId=2.IPM_000005
and there is no native link displayed in the content info page.
Any one has an idea on how the Web Location Url is computed for IPM files and how to control the display of URL(instead of https if i need http)? How to enable the Native Link for IPM files also?

The link calls the Image Viewer, which enables context-full annotations to unmodifiable images. This is the preferred way how images should be displayed. I think the viewer contains an option to display no annotations, if needed.
With no SSL Imaging runs at the port 16000. I'd expect that SSL/no SSL selection is made sometimes during the installation and should be configurable at later times.
I'm not sure if anything like a web-viewable format is created for images. If so, or if you need the native file, you should be able to obtain them if you know dDocName (ContentID) or dID. For web-viewable, check how URL is constructed for non-imaging files - it'll be something like http://localhost:16200/.... and for native files you might have to use the GET_FILE service.
However, to access you images I'd strongly recommend to use Imaging's URI (http://localhost:16000/... or https://localhost:16001/...)

  • Social Sharing only links to Publication URL not Web Viewer URL

I initially created a multi-folio app with the DPS App Builder (Social Sharing enabled per the instructions), but forgot to enable the Web Viewer on my account.
This, per the documentation under Enable Web Viewer in this article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS9293e1fb3b977c5c-6c5b4101331de1fd6a-80 00.html, causes all SHARED links to be the Publication URL. Oops!
I have since enabled the Web Viewer, republished my Folio AND re-generated my app, and the Social Sharing button in the App will only display the Publication URL, and not the Web Viewer URLs.
Do I just need to be patient?  It's been a few hours.
Also: is there any way to get to the Web Viewer URLs outside of sharing through the app?

  • Fast Web View breaking links/bookmarks in PDFs from Word 2007

I'm running Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 on WinXP, and I recently noticed an issue with PDFs that I'm creating from Word 2007. If I turn on the setting "Save As optimizes for Fast Web View," any links or bookmarks in the file break when I do a Save As. If I turn the setting back off, Save As doesn't break them.
I had had problems creating the PDFs using the PDFMaker plug-in for Word, so I used the Save As PDF or XPS feature from Microsoft instead.
PDFs created using FrameMaker are not giving me problems.
I don't know whether this is related, but the Settings button on the Save As dialog box is no longer active. I'm sure I was able to click it before, but I can't now. And that goes for PDFs from Word or FrameMaker.
    Anyone have any clues?
    ===========================================
    Rick Henkel
    http://rickhenkel.googlepages.com/index.htm

This is related to a bug in the direct PDF output from Word 2007. I was told that Microsoft has fixed this bug in the final SP2 release (so when the service pack becomes available, this problem will not be present).
Until then, the workaround is indeed to turn off the "Save As optimizes for Fast Web View" preference in Acrobat (Edit > Preferences > Documents, under Save Settings).

I am trying to consume a webservice (developed in java) in Apex through https.I get an error stating " wallet needs to be configured"
I have done the following things till now.
    Steps:
1.Created a new wallet using Oracle Wallet manager.
2.Created a certificate request; took an export of the same; downloaded a trial SSL certificate form thawte.com.
This download SSL certificate is created using the certificate request which was created earlier.
    3. Imported the trial SSL certificate to the wallet.
4.Saved the wallet to a file.
5.Logged in Apex Admin user and in the Instance settings section, specified the wallet directory path to the directory which contains the wallet.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
please try the stand alone OC4J. Due to its configuration, the embedded OC4J overrides all settings when you run an application. This means that the SSL setting is basically wiped out. So best is to set this up on stand alone OC4J

  • Embed Lightroom Web View in Webpage

The ability to share a collection by copy and pasting a web link through Lightroom Web View is briliant, but is there or will there be the ability to embed this on a webpage say through wordpress? Simply pressing the B key to add images to a predfined collection and having them instantly appear online publicly I'd imagine this would not be too hard to implement?

I'm not sure I completely understand your problem, because linking to a Lightroom gallery is actually very simple.
Design your Lightroom gallery and upload it to your server. Just do it directly from LR. Let's suppose you have uploaded it into [your webroot folder]/galleries/test/.
Don't rename any of the index files.
Check it has actually worked, by visiting http://celestialapple.zxq.net/galleries/test/index.html with your browser.
Create a link to the gallery on your home page. The source code for the link is <a href="/galleries/test/index.html">Other Photoshop gallery</a>
    And that's it already.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • Adding Report Viewer Webpart through console app Throws UpdatePanel Error

    Hi,
I had created a console application in Visual Studio 2012, to add Report Viewer Webpart into the team site page in sharepoint 2013. I wrote a code to add the Report Viewer webpart into the sharepoint site. I followed some links to successfully
execute the console application to add the Report Viewer webpart.
After successful execution of the console application, if i navigate to the sharepoint site where i had added the webpart through console application, it throws the following error.
"Cannot unregister UpdatePanel with ID 'ViewerAreaUpdatePanel' since it was not registered with the ScriptManager. This might occur if the UpdatePanel was removed from the control tree and later added again, which is not supported".
In my console application i didn't use any UpdatePanel. Just add the webpart into the default sitepage in sharepoint. Hope it was in the default page on the sharepoint site.
I had googled the rootcause for the error, but i end up with all the answers pointing to ScriptManager into the aspx page. But i didn't find the SafeScriptManager .dll file. I followed the steps, in some other sites to create the ScriptManager
dll file, but that .cs project was not in compatible mode with VS 2012/2010.
