Web Views Still Don't Auto Update in Keynote '08

So much to my disappointment, the web view feature still doesn't auto update in a self-running presentation. The web views still only update when you first open the document, and then not until you close it and re-open it again.
We have a kiosk at our company that shows slides with websites that have information that change during the day. Unfortunately it only shows the website's state as of when the document was opened, but it doesn't update as the presentation runs throughout the day.
Dang!!! I thought they were going to fix this.

It looks like this is an "as designed" feature. It updates the web view when the presentation launches, but won't do it each time it cycles through.

PDF fast web view option don't work like the specification Acrobat Reader suggest...

I have an optimized/linear PDF file for support fast web viewing option.
My issue is about the plugin comportment. In the Adobe specification, when the plugin receive a large optimized PDF file, he suppose to be began to read and show the PDF file after the first page received from the web server.
In my case it's not worked properly. The plugin show me the PDF file after the download finish.
When I check the Acrobat Reader 8.1 internet settings, all fast web view options are checked properly.
If I look the PDF file properties the fast web view value is yes.
I don't know what is wrong in my setup.
Some help will be appreciate.

Layers of Smart Playlists don't auto update

I set up a smart playlist that only included songs not played in the past week (called 'unrecent'). This list dropped from about 200 songs to 150 songs last night after playing a lot of tunes.
I have another smart playlist that combines the above 'unrecent' list with my favourites (with about 20 songs). After docking the iPod however the combined list (called 'prime') still showed 220 songs in the list.
Only after editing the 'prime' smart playlist (without actually changing anything) did the playlist drop back down to about 170 songs.
Why wont this work automatically (with having to force it through by editing)? Please note, the basic smart playlist (unrecent) DID automatically update, just the other list that used it DIDN'T.

Are they both set to auto update?
I have not nested smart lists inside smart lists. It may be a quirk in the program.

Web application with capable of auto update

Hi All,
I have been developing the webapplications using struts (J2ee Technology) and i have developed few web applications and send to the production. now i want to add autoupdate capability of the application, means if any changes was made jsp/action class then application must have capability of updatin the new code.
is my thought/requirements come in reality?
Can anyone suggest/recommend the approach.

Struts is not a JEE technology; its a framework built by Apache.I agree, but given as example,consider servelts are example now.

Once again my requirement is , Jsps and servlets are packed into war(app version 1.0) and sent customer environment ,
The application is running at customer place, now couple of servlets which was packed in app version 1.0, have been added new functionalites and packed into war(app version2.0).
I need to add capability of updating the version2.0 with replacement of version1.0 which is at client place. How can i do this
Do i need to container help or any other third party tools can be used for this

How can you tell if apps have auto updated?

When turning on Auto Update of apps in iOS 7, will iOS tell you if it has actually done an auto update? If so, how will it do this? Notification Center?

When app is updated, you will see "Open" on the righ of screen.

Plug-Ins not auto-updating, but auto update is set.

I wanted to warn others about this problem.
I read an earlier answer where someone said that Plug-Ins won't auto-update, perhaps that is correct, but if Plug-Ins don't auto-update, why is there an auto-update feature?
(Tools-AddOns-Updated Automatically & Check for Updates both don't catch that plug-ins are out of date).
I'm not talking about random obscure programs, this is the Java Platform & Toolkit. Shouldn't the Add-Ons options clearly state that they don't automatically update or check for updates?
Fortunately I have decent anti-virus software, but I didn't discover this until I picked up a Trojan and started reviewing every single program on my computer to see if I had missed any updates.

Thanks, I just wanted to warn others if they got confused, the way the options are set up it is a little confusing for us who aren't familiar with the difference between Addons & Plugins, it looks like you are choosing an Auto-Update for the Plugins too.
I also figured out that the Java program is not auto-updating even though I set the auto-update feature on the program itself (which has nothing to do with any Firefox issues), so I will have to remember to check their support and also manually check the program pretty often.

Exporting issues -- Crystal & web viewer

I have two issues that I'm trying to working through with Crystal XI. I have Crystal XI R2 and Crystal Report Server XI R2 SP2 installed.
First, when I open a report from the server in the web viewer, I don't have an option to export to CSV. Has that been added in SP4 or is there any way to add that option in?
Also, when I export a report directly from Crystal XI R2, the file name is generated in all lower-case, regardless of how it's typed in in the dialog. Is there a way to fix this so that it keeps the case I typed in?

Never seen that Dev tool before so it won't be in our supported platforms.
I recall something similar and it was due to the screen resolution or zoom level.
Have a look at the source code of the page to see what it is doing. Compare it to a VS .NET ASP.NET app to see what the differences are.

Firefox 13 linux checks for updates and says it is up to date even though my other systems have auto-updated a week or two ago.

My firefox auto-updated to 10.0, 10.0.1, 11, and 12. but would not auto-update to 13.0 so I manually downloaded and updated. now that 14 is out it still won't auto-update. by which I mean when I go to HELP, ABOUT, it says it is fire fox 13.0, says it's checking for updates (very very briefly) then says "firefox is up to date". several other systems have auto-updated from 13 to 14, a couple of weeks ago but this one refuses. what's wrong here?

You will be slightly behind if you use Linux and their own version of Firefox instead of the Mozilla standard version. (Not of course standard in some Linux distros)

Not sure why fx13 is not updating for you.
Maybe something to do with your distro IF it is their version. IIRC some early Ubuntu LTS versions probably did not update Firefox. But you may have the Mozilla version as your system info aside shows <br/>''User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; '''Linux '''i686; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0''

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Got to your Desktop folder in the Finder sidebar, command i will open the info pane.
What are your permissions here? Unlock the pad lock and Change to read write.
Are you experiencing other problems?

Best practice for auto update flex web applications

is there a best practice for auto update flex web applications, much in the same way AIR applications have an auto update mechanism?

I'm talking about a more complex mechanism that can handle updates to modules being loaded into the application ect...
I can always query the server for the verion and prevent loading from cach when a module needs to be updated
but I was hoping for something easy like the AIR auto update feature

In other words, just becasue I am using PDF/A, can I still select the page i need in a long document and see it before the entire file has loaded?

macjack has a very valid point, so you might want to consider a second drive for files.
To partition, you need to boot into the Recovery Volume (command - R) on restart. Select Disk Utility.
Step 1 - select the hard drive.
Step 2 - select the Partition tab.
Step 3 - select the current partition and then use the lower right corner to push up and resize the partition.
Step 4 - click the plus sign to add a partition. Then select the new partition.
Step 5 - Name the new partition and select the format. The one shown in the screen shot is generally recomended.
Step 6 - Hit apply.
This procedure can be reversed at a later date if you find your Time Machine backup needs more space.

Disable auto updated on Crystal Viewer 2011

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the correct board for this query, but there was nowhere else that looked appropriate.
A client of ours has deployed Crystal Reports Viewer 2011 to a number of users on XP and Windows 7 laptops. She wants to disable the auto updates function within the viewer.
In Crystal Reports Viewer 2008 this was possible with a registry edit, can anyone help with how it is achieved in the 2011 version of the viewer?

In CR 2008, there was a registry key under Crystal Reports; DisableCheckForUpdates
That key would disable the check for updates for the Crystal Reports Designer, but the "viewer" in .NET never checked for updates. E.g.; at runtime, there is no checking for updates.
In CRVS2010, there is no "DisableCheckForUpdates" entry. And as with CR2008 installed runtime will not be checking for updates.

When can we expect an update of the web viewer?
The content displayed is not responsive and is therefore not useable on most small screens

The v29 release introduced a couple of bugs that's most likely affecting you. These issues should be resolved within the next day or two.

Known issues with web viewer
Some scrollable frames in web viewer are no longer working properly with the v29 release. This issue is under investigation.
Social Sharing is not working properly for v27 and v28 apps for folios published after the release of v29.
Smooth Scrolling articles in web viewer may not display properly on the last page if the length of the smooth scrolling article is not an exact multiple of the folio height. For example, the last page of a 1024x2000 article may be cropped, but a 1024x1536 (2 times the height) or a 1024x2304 (3 times the height) should display fine. The issue is especially common in portrait orientation.
TOC images larger than 70x70 are being cropped instead of scaled.
