I have the EX1. I just found out CS3 has a patch which makes it X.D CAM EX compatible. Given the fact Cineform will not yet work with CS4, I still wonder whether it isn't too soon to jump into CS4. CS3 has the advantage of being tested, it was designed for XP (which is what I'm using) and it is compatible with Cineform right now. On the other hand CS4 is the future. Which way would you go?

What is the Oracle Best Practice for install/deployment and configuration of ODI 11g for Disaster Recovery?
We have a project that is using Oracle ODI 11g (11.1.1.5).
We have configured all the other Oracle FMW components as per the Oracle DR EDG guides. Basically using the Host ip name/aliasing concept to ‘trick’ the secondary site into thinking
it is primary and continue working with minimal (or no) manual reconfiguration. But will this work for ODI? The FMW DR guide has sections for SOA, WebCenter and IdM, but nothing for ODI.
Since ODI stores so much configuration information in the Master Repository..when this DB gets ‘data guarded’ to the secondary site and promoted to Primary…ODI will still think it is at the ‘other’ site. Will this break the actual agents running the scenarios?
Where does one find the Oracle Best Practice/recommendations for how to DR ODI properly?
We are looking for a solution that will allow a graceful switchover/failover with minimal manual re-configuration.

About:config does show some default values but I need the source from which about:config picks up the default value.
Any help in this direction is greatly appreciated.

The file browser was more or less the precursor to bridge in photoshop elements 1,2 and 3 and photoshop 7 and cs, except it was built into the actual application instead of being separate like bridge.
The file browser was not an organizer as such, which was also along side the file browser in photoshop elements 3 on windows.

The SMC is maintained when the battery is connected or the charger is. When removed the SMC's content is erased. However, if your computer has a PRAM battery, then the SMC may use that instead of the main battery. But not all notebooks have a PRAM battery but rely on the main battery only. All depends on the specific motherboard design. Typically, these lithium cells have a maximum life of around 5 years.
In any case you have not stated what you think the problem is with your SMC, so I cannot say whether your assumption about having a dead PRAM battery is correct. If you cannot maintain PRAM settings, then that would be more indicative or the battery being dead.

Where Does iPhoto Get The Date?

I'm not sure I understand where iPhoto is getting the information for a photo's Date.
Is it coming from the photo's metadata?
If so, which field?
I have scanned old photo and I want iPhoto to show the Data that they were originally taken, not when they were scanned. I've used both Aperture and Adobe Lightroom to change the created date, but iPhoto seems to be using the date the photo was scanned.

I scanned the photo. I used Lightroom to modify the photo, including changing the capture time and date.
When I view the photo's metadata in Adobe Bridge, it shows the correct/new date that I entered in Lightroom.
But, when I import that photo into iPhoto, iPhoto shows the date as today. That seems odd. Today is not the date the photo was scanned. And it's not using the data I modified in the metadata.
That is because
iPhoto uses the date in the EXIF fields - if there is none then it uses the file date
I know I can change the date inside iPhoto, but I was hoping to change the date in the photo's metadata, so that now matter who or how someone looks at the photo it will have the correct creation date.
And this is how you do that
You can change the date in iPhoto using the batch change command (photo menu ==> batch change ==> time/date)
Then export the photo
I don't know how iPhoto's data change feature works, but if it's like the name/title change feature, then I wouldn't want to use it.
That is totally up to you - it is the only way to change the date using iPhoto
my wife renamed a bunch of photos in her iPhoto. Then she emailed them to someone and found out that the file name didn't change. The title changed.
That is correct - you can export the photos using the title as the file name (among other options)
I'm not sure why iPhoto would change a title as opposed to the actual file name.
Because iPhoto is a database based photo manager - not a file manager
Or at least have the option to pick what you wanted.

In mid-December after receiving a shiny new Quad Proc Intel based mac pro, I discovered that my PowerMac version of Final Cut Studio was barely functional on this new hardware. Since I bought the hardware to go faster, it seems Ironic that I can't. I then discovered the cross-grade option - which allows me to package up all of my Install DVD's and send them to some address in the MidWest and wait for my new install DVD's. I don't mind paying the nominal charge for the cross-grade, but I do mind being down for 25 days waiting for the new discs. ARGH!... I have still not received the cross-grade discs and am wondering if there is anyone that can make this process go faster - or tell me where I am in the queue. IMHO, the Intel Binaries for the Pro Applications should have been on the Mac Pro, and the license for the old discs should have at least allowed someone to use the software for a month or so. This really is not cool!.

- Have you sent them an e-mail following up?
Most folks get their upgrade in 2 weeks or less, so 21 days is moving toward the outside of the envelope. However, if you sent yours in the rush around the end of the original period, you could simply be caught in the mass.
