version="2.4">I'm merrily learning some JSP at the moment and in order to use EL, I have to specify JSP 2.4 as above. Problem is, I don't actually know what the above means (aside from version="2.4", that is).
I have a little experience writing XML DTDs and am assuming the above is something like that. Anyone shed any light?

xsd improves on DTD in at least two ways:
(1) XSD is well-formed XML; DTD never was.
(2) DTD only allows parsed and unparsed character data and simple cardinalities using ? and +. XSD lets you define more details , including things like complex types (e.g., dates, numbers, etc.), cardinalities for tags, regular expression validation, etc. Almost like database schemas.

My Ipad 16 GB says under settings the capacity is only 14 GB...whats this all about?

That's because 1.000.000.000, are 1 million bytes, which isn't kilo (thousand)' mega (million), but giga (billion).
16 million bytes are thus sold as 16 GB. Every hardware producer does is.
However 1 Kilobyte actually not 1000 bytes, but 1024 bytes, Megabyte is actually 1024 kilobytes and 1 Gigabyte is 1024 Megabytes.
1024 Bytes /1.024 = 1 KB
1000 Bytes/1.024 = 0.976 KB
1000.000 Bytes/1.024/1.024 = 0.953 MB
1.000.000.000 Bytes/1.024/1.024/1.024 = 0,931 GB
16GB thus only is 14,9 GB on which the OS is installed first which leaves me with 13,8 GB useable.
It's just the way bytes are counted vs sold. Not a real problem though. An app you download for 500 MB is actually 524.000.000. You really did get 16.000.000.000 bytes and are allowed to use them all. -

this conversation has help me, today I had the same pop up scam announcement, I was searching in you tube yahoo and google about this no one apparently had this issue before, first I was going to call the original apple phone number because to me this pop seem awkward but the announcement had the apple name I gave it a try but using the call app phone booth just to see if it was the official apple phone number and if it was not who ever was asking me to call wont get my actual phone number, to my surprise it wasn't apple official phone number because I have called the apple official # and is nothing a like, I hung up all worried and sad with only one option in my mind called the apple support number, then I stop and thought for a minute and one clever thought came to my head that is brain lol, the clever thought was this "let me put this phone number in the web to see if it takes me to the official apple website" so I did it and the first pop up search was this article this conversation of you guys read it and follow the instructions they were very successful fix my issue, thank you so much guys, keep up the great work.

There are a couple of things that you can do yourself before taking your machine into an Apple Store or an AASP... download and run an application named Rember that will run a RAM test for you - let it run for a couple of hours or even overnight. If it turns out that your RAM is faulty, Rember will let you know. If it is faulty, then you have a couple of options - replace the RAM yourself or (particularly if you're under warranty still) take the machine to an Apple Store or AASP and have them replace the RAM.
If Rember finds no fault with the RAM, then you'll need to take it into an Apple Store/AASP and get a free diagnosis on the machine. Three beeps do usually indicate faulty RAM, but if it tests good with Rember you likely have another problem - it could be something as simple as the RAM, somehow, not seated correctly or signs of another hardware problem.
Run Rember first... call back with results.

My iPhone just said "SIM failure" and now says Invalid SIM in the upper corner. What's this all about? Any ideas on how to resolve this.
Looks like the Sim card had a catastrophic failure. Burnout, short somethng like that.
You can try to take out the tray and reseat the sim card inside and see if that gets it back.
Also try resetting the phone at least once by holding down the home and power buttons until the Apple Logo shows up.
If none of this works you'll have to contact your cell carrier to get a new sim card, as it probably fried and is no longer functional. -
Hewlett Packard (HP) Printer Software Update ver. 2.16.1 has auto-installed/downloaded twice within the past few days and now, today, the App Store wants to download 2.16.1 HP Printer Software Update for a 3rd time!?! Same version all 3 times. What’s this all about? Is something acting up or is this normal? Really strange that it'd want 3 copies of 2.16.1....
Please advise what I should do.

Confirming, indexing, creating peak file. What's this all about?
Althought I'm new to PrPro (see my very first post, it was the that I just started using this app), premiere already ate me that anywhere I go, when it comes to video editing, I am in its belly. But still I want an explanation regarding (again) about this message that's appearing in the status bar: 'conforming ?????.mpg". I don't really understand what's this all about. A little explanation is a lot to me. But what I am concerning about this thing is, it seems to be endless. PrPro had done already on all of my assets, conforming, creating peak files, indexing, but it still keeps on doing it again and again. Is there a problem with my audio/video files?
During the first time of my use, I didn't mind. I didn't even notice it. But now I started to be concerned with it since I my pc really slows down when PrPro starts this seemingly perpetual activity. I resemble that comment! Harm, you have to realize that I am from Mississippi, and everyone is known as Billy Bob, Joe Bob, or Bubba. We had no Harm Millaards - too many double vowels and consonants for us. At least this helped, when I signed up for a bunch of X-rated sites, as Harm Millard...
OK, where were we? LameTiger (check that spelling, as I think I got it wrong again and apologize profusely), when one has non-standard footage, three thing need to happen: the files need to be indexed, the Audio must be Conformed (CFA files) and the Waveform Display (PEK) files must be created. Depending on the number of files, their Duration and one's computer's speed this can take from moments, to maybe 20 mins.
If you have not just loaded up this Project, then gone for a cup of coffee, or tea, I urge you to do so. There is a tiny progress bar in the very lower-right of the GUI, that traces this. Let it happen, and be patient. I know that this sounds like a scene from the Karate Kid, but it's important. Many systems will crash, if one tried to do anything, before this process completes. I can work (albeit slowly), during the process. Many cannot.
Now, if you HAVE patiently waited this process out, and it has completed, AND the next session yields the exact same thing, then something is not quite right. Could be files getting moved, deleted, or otherwise not available to PrPro, or some setting in one's Scratch Disks, or some other problem.
Hope that a bit of patience, and a cup of Darjelling helps. Please let us know.

Wickets924i believe it's because on the "system requirements" it says that if running on vista, it needs to be on a 64-bit system. Mine runs on 32 and doesn't seem to work. it crashed my computer... big time.

Myself, I count myself lucky. Everything works perfectly for me right now...email, bluetooth, maps, gps, 3rd party apps, battery life, 3G, wifi, etc. etc.
The only issue I've been having is the dreaded reboots but I believe that may have to do with 3rd party apps. I recently uninstalled Google Search app from my N78 and since then it hasn't rebooted or shown any issues. This seems odd at first but makes sense if you think about the fact that the Google Search app loads itself into memory and runs in the background at all times.
I did this this past Tuesday night and so far no reboots, crashes or any problems. I'm sure I just jinxed myself but I've been using it heavily over the last few days with no issues. Prior to this, it would usually reboot every 2 days. If it doesn't reboot for another few days I'll be happy.
I would normally not stand for this but I just love the phone and if I got something else it'd probably be the iPhone 3G which has perhaps more software bugs and issues than the N78-3!!

When syncing my iPad with my computer I keep getting the notice ' waiting for changes to be applied '. What is this all about ?
If everything is working OK, I believe it simply means that the iPad and iTunes are communicating and that any changes that you made to the sync configuration are waiting to go through. If you updated apps on the iPad and they get transferred into iTunes or if you download new songs onto the iPad and they are being transferred into iTunes, any app data that moves back and forth - those would be changes that need to be applied.
If you can't finish the sync and that's why you are asking, can you provide more specific details? -
I updated iPhoto this morning. And now I can't email photos directly from iPhoto. Whats that all about?
Which iPhoto version did you update to?
If it is iPhoto 9.6 open iPhoto's preferences, go to the Accounts pane and delete the email account.
Now quit iPhoto, relaunch, and add the account back.
You may have to restart the Mac for this to have effect.
If you are using iPhoto as Mail client, you may want to switch to Mail as the email client in iPhoto's General preference pane.
This has been much more reliable in the past and less trouble. -
The drop down view by menu (Song, album, etc) at the right side of the iTunes window is like a ghost. It flashes into view for a millisecond once in awhile but never lets me click on it. Anyone know what this is about and what to do?
Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
