Webauction and jbuilder6
Has anyone tried (successfully) to import the learnweblogic webauction
source code into jbuilder6? I don't think it should be difficult but
I don't seem to be able to get it right. I am using weblogic6.1.1 and
the new webauction source code. My directories are:
c:\winnt\administrator\jbproject\myAuction3\src\webauction\dto\
" " \ejb\
" " \jsp\taglib\
the ejb-jar.xml,
weblogic-ejb.xml and
weblogic-cmp-rdbms are all in the ...\ejb\ directory (with .java
files).
the web.xml and weblogic.xml are in the ...\jsp\ directory (with .java
files).
I then create a new project with root at ...\myAuction3\
and I get 4 packages in jbuilder:
webauction.dto
webauction.ejb
webauction.jsp
webauction.jsp.taglib
Next, I choose "create new EJB module from XML" in JB6 and point it to
the ...\ejb\ directory where JB6 discovers (only) the ejb-jar.xml
file. I click okay.
JB6 then builds a nice UMLesque diagram for WebAuctionEJB, ItemEJB,
UserEJB, BidEJB and BidrecieverEJB...things look great at this
point...except that the build fails and "verify" the EJB's XML fails.
I know this is getting long winded so I will cut it off here. If
someone could please help me get this straightened out I would REALLY
appreciate it. I have been at it for several days now and I guess I
have hit a wall.
TIA,
-Billy
For anyone responding, I seem to have solved it. Works on one machine (NT), but not on another (XP home).
Thanks anyway

why?who can help me?
thank you!Hi Shailendra,
I searched a lot, there seems very few information from internet and internal about this topic, I'm not familiar with Workday and ServiceNow applicaitons, I would recommend you may post in the following community sites(which should be offcial
sites) for a better assistance regarding the integration questions between Workday and ServiceNow and SharePoint Online(O365).

i an new user to jbuilder 6. i facing problem when i want to create new form in the project. this is because, if i create a new frame, then the xxx.java cannot be compiled...
the second question is how to link from one interface to another? like one form to another?
thanksI've concluded that the State property of a Connection object isn't reliable. The moment I added the test:
if( this.aConnection.State!=1 )
throw "The application cannot save your submission.";
we began to have problems with users of a our web app seeing the thrown message even though the database instance shows no evidence of connection trouble. I toyed with tracing OraOLEDB but never got that to work, and an Oracle support person suggested that type of tracing isn't reliable anyway. Finally, buried in some MS support document I saw the claim that a connection isn't actually opened until a recordset is returned.
That suggests that the real test for "connected" is whether your app can do the work you intend it to do: in other words, "try." -
Apologies if this is off-topic, but I can't seem to get JBuilder 6 to see the JAI API that I install within the JDK1.3.1/.../ext folder. Anyone else encountered anything similar and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance.For anyone responding, I seem to have solved it. Works on one machine (NT), but not on another (XP home).
Thanks anyway -

How can I add an image to a project and change it at runtime?
I'm using JBuilder6 and I thought I saw a control to add images but I can't find it. I also wanted to be able to change the control at runtime. Also how should I specify the path so it knows how to use it? I hate to hard code one in. Since this is probably gonna be ported to other OS does Java have a way around this? I was going to put the images into my project's directory. For me to be able to just include the file w/the extension do I need to put it in the src folder or will the main directory be accessible?
To add an image, or other source file with JBuilder, you have a button call "Add to project", his icon is a folder with a green cross.
To call the Image os independant, I sugest you to put your images in a folder "image" in your project folder. Then to call them, you could use this :
image=new ImageIcon(AClass.class.getResource("image"+java.io.File.separator+imageName));Where AClass is a class of your project, in general, the class where you call getRessource;
"image" is the name of the under folder where are the image in your project folder;
imageName is a string with the name of the file witch contains the image, for exemple : "my image.gif"I hope I help you.

Recompiling EJB jars during start up, and classpath wrong
When I start WL6.1 with SP2, it tries to recompile (re: ejbc ?) one of my ejb jars.
Why does it do this. This gives NoClassDefFoundError exception as the bean references
utility classes which are only resolved by the class-path entry in the manifest
file e.g
Class-Path: /rdfinf.jar NRInfrastructure.jar
But these classes aren't on the classpath when starting WL6.1, if they were they
couldn't be redeployed. I think what is happening is the jar is being re ejbc
but the class path given to ejbc is obviously incorrect ?
The jar was produced by JBuilder6, I thought that maybe JBuilder6 didn't have
sp2 installed and therefore it was an sp1 ejbc'd jar so at start up it is re ejbc'd
But JB6 does have weblogic_sp.jar in its libraries BUT I can't find weblogic_sp.jar
anywhere on my bea\wlserver6.1 installation. I upgraded from wl6.1 sp1 to sp2,
and when wl6.1 starts up it clearly says sp2.
Any ideas ? I've been looking at this for days.

at com.sun.management.jmx.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:1523)Hi,
the weblogic_sp.jar file should be in the bea/wlserver6.1/lib directory.
If WebLogic starts as SP2, it should be there. You could also look in
the start script (startweblogic.cmd if you're on Windows),
weblogic_sp.jar should be referenced in there, too.
When using JBuilder, make sure that the weblogic_sp.jar file is listed
before (above) the weblogic.jar file, so it is included first in the
classpath.
If you can't find weblogic_sp.jar anywhere, try reinstalling the service
pack.
Hope that helps,
Nils

Nokia Series 60 MIDP SDK Beta 0.1 with JBuilder6
Hi,
I installed Nokia Series 60 MIDP SDK Beta 0.1 and configured the JDK of JBuilder6.
When I run the midlet, The EPOC emulator was pop up, but then there was a runtime error:
Emulator command: C:\Nokia_Series_60_MIDP_SDK_Beta_0_1\bin\Epoc32\release\wins\udeb\kmidp_debug.exe -parent_port 2810 -classpath C:\Nokia_Series_60_MIDP_SDK_Beta_0_1\lib\j2me-debug.zip; C:\projects\test\classes;C:\Nokia_Series_60_MIDP_SDK_Beta_0_1\lib\j2me-debug.zip -descriptor c:\tmp\midp\Test.jad Test
java.lang.RuntimeException: Class not found in runMIDlet: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: test.Test
at com.symbian.midp.compatibility.runtime.MIDletExecutor.runMIDlet(+143)
at com.symbian.midp.compatibility.runtime.MIDletMain.runFirstMIDlet(+77)
at com.symbian.midp.compatibility.runtime.MIDletMain.run(+346)
at com.sun.midp.midlet.Main.main(+56)
I changed the path to that MIDP SDK, but still failed. This test program can be run with Default J2MEwtk, motorola or Sony emulator.
What's wrong with my settings? or the software has bugs because I found that there are many developers who posted in the Nokia's support forum were unable to run it properly .
Regards
gogoNokia emulator can execute only packaged MIDP. So, make .jar and jad files by WirelessToolkit and then run it under WirelessToolkit, by choosing Nokia device, of course.

How to install and initialize the Java ORB correctly?
Hi!
I`m having probs in installing the Java ORB (which is in the SDK, isn`y it) correctly. Im using Borland`s JBuilder6 Enterprise Edition.
Can anybody help me?!
Thanks,
jjkDo you get an exception, a compile error, ...?
Here is essentially how I initialize the orb:
Properties properties = new Properties();
properties.put("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort", "12345");
properties.put("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost", "some.host.com");
orb = org.omg.CORBA.ORB.init(null, properties);I've found that what you need to do after that depends on your peer and how you want to connect: resolve_initial_references(), string_to_object(), Tobj_Bootstrap(), ... -
Tomcat 4.1.12 and Tag Libraries
I had tomcat 4.04 working great with a webapp, I changed to tomcat 4.1.12 and there are a lot of Custom Tags that stoped working.
Does anybody knows what might be happening and how to solve it ???
The Exception I am getting is the following:

Apache Tomcat/4.1.12-LE-jdk14I have also had this problem. I had a number of JSP pages which used various tag librarys. They all worked perfectly with tomcat 4.04LE (for jdk1.4.1). I then updated to 4.1.12LE and started getting the errors mentioned above.
From looking at the errors in the tomcat log I could see the problem was due to the generated servlet code (jspname_jsp.java) not being able to find the classes required for compilation...I ensured all the classpaths were correctly set, and I manually compiled the generated jspname_jsp.java files with no problem.
I am pretty sure this is a bug in Tomcat.

How to insert an image and an icon in a JFrame !
i am seeking for th efollowing :
1/- how to insert an image in a Jframe ? i triied to use a label and set labelk icon with the specefic path but i can not see it neither in the jbuilder6 brower nor in the execution of the application ! how to deal with that please!
2/- how to insert an icon to my window sothat it does not display the jbuilder 6's default icon
ant help wil be really apreciated! thanksIn JBuilder, create a new file called Frame1 then copy this code into it. It should give you a frame which will have a different icon in the frame title and an image in its pane.
Change the name of the icon it uses to any gif file that you have on your pc.
// START OF FILE
import java.awt.*;
import javax.swing.*;

JLabel jLabel1 = new JLabel();
public Frame1() {

Frame1 frame1 = new Frame1();
frame1.pack();
frame1.show();
private void jbInit() throws Exception {
ImageIcon myImage = new ImageIcon("c:/data.gif");
this.setIconImage(myImage.getImage());
jLabel1.setText("jLabel1");
jLabel1.setIcon(myImage);

Jbuilder 6 and the J2EE server.
I love Jbuilder and I have been using the J2EE Server(Through the Forte Ide) to develop a few J2EE applications. Is it possible to develop and deploy J2EE applications using only Jbuilder6 and the J2EE server.
NB: Applications are for educational purposes.I'm presently trying to get the Java Pet Store demo
http://interstagedemo.fs.fujitsu.com:8000/petstore/index.jsp
working in JBuilder 7 Enterprise, and I've made at least some headway (some of the JPS 1.3_01 source files aren't in the right subdirectories- per their package declarations- which I've reported to Sun and which they've promised to fix in v1.3_02). JPS works out-of-the-box with the Cloudscape database that's distributed with J2EE v1.3, but at the moment, I can't figure out how to make the JPS connect to Cloudscape through JBuilder.
Borland has their own J2EE server/container, and in fact I just received their 60-day trial on 2 CDs today ("Borland Solution for Java Trial" $19.90 US including shipping; includes JBuilder 7 Enterprise 30-day trial):
http://shop.borland.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry10?V1=396710&PN=1&SP=10023&xid=39696&DSP=&CUR=840&PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0
BES (Borland Enterprise Server) claims to be well-integrated with JBuilder, so it may be a better bet than trying to use the freebie J2EE server, at least to start off with. -
Hi,
maybe this newsgroup isn't appropiated to my question, however I didn't found response even in borland newsgroups.
Well, I have a JdbTable linked to a QueryDataSet. I defined a
QueryDescriptor to load results as needed.
It works well, when i am at the last line of my table, next results
are loaded.
My problem is that I would like to have the same mechanism for results
before the first line. I mean, when I am at the last line, I would like that the next results are loaded while the previous results are unloaded. And when i am at the first line of my table and i go up, i want load previous results and unload ones which are after.
For example, for a JdbTable that has 25 visible lines, it will be like
a window (of x lines) on the associated DataSet (maybe corresponding
to thousands of results). A window that could be moved up and down.
I hope I have been comprehensible.
Does anybody have an idea, is there a method to purge or unload data
from a dataset??
Any suggestion will be appreciated.the classes come from the com.borland.* package
(com.borland.datastore, com.borland.dx.sql.dataset)
you can find these classes in the lib directory of
jbuilder
C:\JBuilder6\lib\dx.jar, dbswing.jar...Ok. It helps to mention that since this forum is directed at "JDBC" which a specific API from Sun.
Have you tried searching the forums for some of the more commonly used class names in that package? -

do you need to run the server with java security manager if not required
then remove -Djava.security.manager
else given full permission to the code based weblogic is in!
