  • Wifi webcam - mac mini - TV

    Hi there,
Webcam - Mac mini - HDTV
I want to know if I could set up ichat to be displayed on my TV. The webcam would be near or no top of my HDTV, and I would be able to call up friends via Ichat and see the full screen on the TV, so I could sit on my sofa and chat away to family/ friends etc....
Does anyone know if this is possible?
    ta

    How about http://ecamm.com/mac/webcam/bt1/
As for displaying on the TV you will need an adaptor and cabling from the MacMini to TV.

  • External webcam - mac mini

    Hi
I'm going to buy a Mac Mini. I'll use my TV for screen.. I want know which one webcam will work with mac mini?  logitech c920? or there have other model?

The video and audio will work fine. Frequently the cameras have features available in software like Fluid Crystal for the C920. SInce there is no Mac software for C920 that feature is not available on the Mac.

  • New 3rd Party Webcam - Mac Mini

I have a Mac Mini, running Snow Leopard. (purchased last year) I recently got an HD 1080p webcam with backlight (Rocketfish) which works really well in Yahoo Messenger. However it is only supported there and does not seem to function via skype or webpages. I also cannot do still captures with it, but I couldn't with my previous webcam either.
Is there a recommended program that will provide the support I am looking for, or do I need something else?
I will try my best to answer any questions.
    -C

I can recommend a usb web cam but a warning you won't have it in hd because yahoo only supports it in hd
Try the xbox 360 web cam there about 12.99 used from gamestop they work on all skype yahoo and even ichat

  • How to use HP Mini's built-in webcam in Windows 7?

I have a new HP Mini 5101 netbook. It came with a built-in webcam. Yay! It also came with Windows 7 Starter. Ugh!
How do I get it to access the built-in webcam? In Windows XP, you'd just go to My Computer, and there was a camera icon right there. You'd double-click it, and the camera would start operating. I can't find any similar feature for Windows 7, I can't find any topic in the HP Help for using the web cam, and there's nothing listed in the support topics for accessing the camera in the HP Mini support section.
The camera is recognized in Device Manager, so I know it's not a driver issue. I just don't see where I'm supposed to click to access the webcam.
Someone must have come across this. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Sir_Timbit

Dorgem has been discontinued so I think you'll have to go with MSN live messenger.

  • How do I connect my Sony HD video camera to work as my webcam on a mac-mini

I have just purchased a 2.5GHz 4Mb mini-mac.  I am using a Samsung HD TV and want to use a Sony HD video camera as a webcam.  I have mini-display port, HDMI port and thunderbolt port on the mini-mac.  The video camera has mini HDMI port and I have mini HDMI to HDMI cable.  I also have HDMI to mini-disply connector.  So far I have tried connecting the TV via the HDMI to HDMI cable and the camera via mini HDMI to HDMI/HDMI mini-display convertor to the mini-mac.  The TV is showing the display but the video camera (turned on!) doesn't automatically appear or show in either Finder or as available when I am trying to set up Skype.  Then tried swapping the two around at the mini-mac with the TV now going through the HDMI to mini-display convertor and the camera going to the HDMI port.  Same results as previous set-up.
Can this be made to work? Is there a HDMI to thunderbolt convertor that will work?   Is this plug and play technology or are there more complicated set-up [rocedures?  Any help much appreciated.

  • Best webcam for Mac mini core solo?

What is the best webcam to use for my Mac Mini with an older display - is MacAlly icecam 2 sufficient? and i'm still on 10.4.11. Many thanks for your kind responses.

I've been looking into webcams for my mini and have noticed that some webcams whilst the video works, the sound doesn't. I have an old webcam which my wife uses on our windows box, and I got it working on my mac using the Macam drivers http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/ The only problem was that the microphone wasn't supported, a recurring trend!! From my investigations the Logitech Quick Cam Vision Pro for Mac seems to be the best available, but it is a bit expensive £89.99 here in the UK.

  • Mac Mini compatible display with webcam/mic built in?

Been on a good search around the internet and haven't found any new displays that are reviewed and confirmed to be compatible with mac mini or any other mac for that matter and feature a built in webcam/mic that will work for Facetime. I'm not looking to spend $999 for a 27" Thunderbolt Apple display. Size doesn't really matter. I found some on Dell that meet my needs but I'm unsure if they work. I was recommended by some on another forum for an older Dell Monitor that did work with Mac Mini and was reviewed multiple times to do so. It's used however you can't find that monitor new anymore. Any help or suggestions by anyone that has found a monitor to be compatible with a built in webcam/cam would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!

Found this link to be very helpful in case anyone else is going down the same road I am.

  • My  Samsung Sync Master 225UW's camera (webcam) won't work with my Mac mini

    Hi,
I need help making my monitor's webcam work with my Mac mini. I have Mac OS X 10.5. When the computer launches the screen turns on, everything's perfect but the webcam will not turn on when I launch Photo Booth or iChat....what should I do?

That camera doesn't work with my mac either (I'm using it right now with a g4 powerbook, but will try again with my new power mac coming in... though I doubt it will make a difference)
The 225UW is specially made for Windows Vista, and I wonder if it needs a mac driver for the camera or something. We may be S.O.L. I knew that was a possibility when I ordered this monitor. Oh well... pay yer money... take yer chances.

  • What cable do i need to use to connect my grandson's old style external isight webcam to his 2014 Mac mini in order for him to be able to FaceTime me

what cable do i need to use to connect my grandson's old style external isight webcam to his 2014 Mac mini in order for him to be able to FaceTime me

You need either a FireWire 800 to FW 400 cable or a FR 800 (male)/FW(female) adopter.
However. it the Mini (note that you still have the late 2012 Mini, Apple has not updated the Mini since then) has Mavericks it may not work satisfactorily. I tried it on my 2102 and I get abount 1 frame every 20 seconds. Another uses posted same problem.
However, it it work fine on my late 2009 Mini with Mavericks

  • What USB Webcam will Work under Lion (Mac Mini)

Only a couple month back, I purchased an "Icecam2" from MacAlley for my Mac Mini. It worked just fine. But Lion doesn't appear to recognize it.
    Any work arounds?
Are there any cameras that do work with Lion? (none of the once I have seen so far states that it works with Lion)
    Thanks.

I am currently using 2 webcams from Logitech, the C910 and the older Webcam Pro 9000.  They work with Lion.  I use it with Skype, iChat, Facetime and Yahoo! Messenger.
The Mac software that come with the webcams, however, do not have the same features as that of the Windows version.
    Cheers,

  • Simple question - Can I use a Mini Mac with a webcam to use facetime?

    Hello,
I have a friend who wants me to use Facetime to call him.  If I have a Mac Mini with a webcam, can I use Facetime?  Also, how fast does the processor need to be?
    Thanks in advance.

The quick answer is: yes, you can view your slingbox video on a mac.
But, there are some considerations about which computer you have and which slingbox you have. Usability and video quality is affected by system speed, network speed and now internet speed even on the local network; as slingbox has made a big push for viewing over the internet via slingbox.com.
The slingbox for mac download is still available on their site.
