Webcam live preview in my field item

Hi Experts,
I am using Developer 6i, I want to view webcam output into my field item, without using java
my webcam is plug n play and directly connected to my PC via USB cable,
I already search for solution but didn't got result oriented solution
any body help me?

You need a webcam with a ActiveX bidirectional control. If you have it that is ActiveX is the object to use in Forms 6i.

How can I get typekit fonts to display in edge code live preview?

I'm wondering how I can get typekit fonts to display when using adobe code cc live preview? I'm aware that it's an issue with my local base url, but I'm confused as to how to fix the issue.
Right now my site is stored locally in a folder on my desktop. I'm not sure what to put in the typekit settings under "domain" and what URL to put in the project settings in edge code.
A little help please?

I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. In order for the Typekit fonts to load, you need to add the IP address that you are using for Live Preview to the domain listing on the kit.
By default, Edge Code uses the IP address "http://127.0.0.1/"; you should see that listed in the web browser when previewing your site. If you've changed the preview URL in Edge Code, it might be something like butterville.local instead.
In either case, copy the URL where you are previewing the site, and add it to your domains: go to http://typekit.com and launch your Kit Editor. Click Kit Settings in the upper right corner and add your domain to the domains field, then save your settings.
Make sure you republish your kit after saving the changes.

Component with Live Preview

There seems to be very little information on developing a
custom component with live preview.
So far i've created a swf whose application class extends
UIComponent.
I've also created a custom component.
Then I've added the Live Preview field in the custom
component's Component Definition.
What I would like to do now is reposition elements within the
preview swf when the user resizes the component.
To do this i need to know two things - 1 what event to listen
for when the user resizes the component, and 2 the current
dimensions of the resized component.
1. My only success was that ComponentEvent.SHOW seems to
dispatch when the user resizes the component. (i had no luck with
any of the RESIZE events - Event.RESIZE etc)
2. However the width/height properties don't seem to change
on resize, they stay at the original dimensions of the component.
Any ideas?

now I'm not certain about this under 3, but when developing
with under 2 with a live preview one needs to include a 'magical'
MC named 'xch' (instance name as well) that basically contains
'nothing' - it's a empty mc on the preview files timeline. there
are 'other' things as well however, in the live preview file one
must create a method named 'onUpdate' and assign a property of the
xch named 'instance' to 'this' (ref the timeline of the preview
file... previous to the method declaration) then within the
onUpdate method 'all' properties of the component and statements
within the method refer to xch.prop = blah blah, xch.otherprop =
blah blah
it's quite complicated and doesn't really make a lot of
sense, but that seems to be the way in which the working file
relates to the live preview file - ie. 'through' the xch clip which
triggers the onUpdate method
from what i remember, it's this mc that 'helps' the resize
event 'make' the connection between the event and the preview file,
seems to me that there was something else involved as well but i
cant seem to remember atm - I found this information in an article
on building components, however the page is no longer valid and i
couldn't track it down for you (it was a good tut too) sorry wish i
had more info for you.

What you saw had probably been RAM-Previewed already, so scrubbing the timeline cursor gave it the illusion of live preview.

Live Preview is not working for me

Live Preview is not working for me. I've read many other forums and tried everything and I still get the same issue that everyone else has mentioned. I'm on Chrome Version 34.0.1847.116 m . I have multiple user profiles with Chrome so not sure if that makes a difference.
Adobe Edge team, for a lightweight browser that should be easy to use, this does not make it easy. Hopefully you can implement a fix soon that works for all cases as I was really looking forward to trying this out and I'm unable to.

I am having issues as well.
Running through the intro tutorials - Just the basic HTML tutorial files. When initiating live preview, I restarted Chrome as prompted for debugging, After restart the preview page loads fine a single time, works for about 10 seconds or so and then disconnects. I cannot get it to reconnect without restarting the program, but the same thing happens.
Live Preview Error: Unable to Load Development Page
The live preview icon remains orange - as if connected, but no changes write to the preview window in HTML or CSS.
Ive seen the other threads, but none of those items seem to fix my issue.
Anything I can do here besides wait for update? Love the basic product - the editing features are awesome, but until live preview + reliable FTP is set, I'll probably stick with current coding solutions.

Installing Webcam Live! on Windows Vista x64

This will inform all of the poor consumers who bought a camera shortly before vista was released, only to realize that the camera would not work with thier operating system that they would soon update too. I was very frustrated trying to get my "Webcam Live!" to work with windows vista ultimate 64 bit edition so i did some trial and error, trying basically every driver on the site.
step 1: be sure that your camera is unplugged, and you dont have any remnants of other drivers on your system, and download the driver for Windows XP Professional 64 bit located here?http://us.creative.com/support/downl...type=0&x=9&y=7
Step 2: right click the setup?icon and click properties
Step 3: click the "compatibility" tab click "run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows XP (Service pack 2)
Step 4: right click the setup icon and choose "run this program as administrator" proceed with setup. The setup may get hung up, but as long as it gets to 100% before freezing you should still be okay.
Step 5: Plug your camera in?Step6: Open your device driver. In my case the driver installed correctly and that was the last step. you may have to manually install the driver by clicking on the device, clicking update driver, and then point the computer to where it was installed to. this was very frustrating for me to figure out and took me about 2 hours. i hope i saved you some time, good luck.

I keep getting an internal server error when I try to load pages in live preview in edge code...

I keep getting this message every time I try to laod a page using live preview in Edge Code with Google chrome...
"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. I had this working flawlessly with an earlier version of a website I was working on. I haven't changed any settings, the only thing that has changed is that I'm working with a new sub folder in the root directory. Every time I try to load the page, I get that error message. How do I properly set up Live Previewing (Brackets)

I just recently came across Bracket and I am super excited about it and can't wait to dive in. My problem right out the gate is I can't for the life me configure the Live Previewing to work properly. That is why I am here. I have read
Here is what I have done with my limited knowledge concerning setting up local hosting. ( I have always used Dreamweaver and never had to do this before)
I downloaded MAMP to create a localhost, I moved my website folder and files into the MAMP htdocs folder and labeled it AWD. If I type in local host in my browser it pulls up INDEX of/ AWD/ (folder), if I click on the folder it downloads a blank file, and that is it.
I have tried:
file:///C:/MAMP/htdocs/AWD/ - File not supported needs to be http:// (if I type this into my browser the site shows)
http://C:/MAMP/htdocs/AWD/ - This website is not available
http://localhost/MAMP/htdocs/AWD/ - Not Found
I found this on this Forum but can't make sense of the information.

First off, thank you for your help, I appreciate it. To answer your question no both http://localhost:8080/AWD/ and http://localhost:8888/AWD/ do not work. If I type just localhost in my Chrome Browser it takes me to an INDEX of / page and has one directory listed AWD. When I click on the AWD it proceeds to download a blank file.
One of the only things that has worked was typing file:///C:/MAMP/htdocs/AWD/ in my browser, which isn't supported in Brackets. I can type that in and it takes me to the overall AWD Directory and I can see all of my files. If I click on one of my PHP files it will show the page.

How do I live preview a Ruby on Rails/Ember application?

I have a Ruby on Rails application and I am under the impression that Edge Code will work with locally hosted web servers to use live preview. I have set up the project settings to use the locally hosted address: http://localhost:3000/ ... However when I use Live Preview I receive the following error.
"Open an HTML file or make sure there is an index.html file in your project in order to launch live preview."
I have done so and I meet the criteria but it doesn't seem to work. Does Adobe Edge Code support this feature?

What's the file extension of the page you want to view in Live Preview? You may need to add it to the internal (not yet easily configurable) list of file extensions.

Webcam Live Pro causes system crash with Windows XP Home

Ever since installing Webcam Live Pro I have been having random system restarts. This ONLY happens when the webcam is being used. It happens when using the Creative Webcam Center or another application. Sometimes the restart will happen after a few minutes, and other times an hour or more. I am running Windows XP sp2 with all patches, and there are no driver conflicts listed in Device Manager. I have the cam set at 60 hz.
Even though there are no listed driver conflicts in Device Manager, there clearly is a driver conflict that occurs from time to time. I have read of other people having this same problem on this forum with Webcam Live Pro. I am using the driver ...0 which is dated 0//2004, and the automatic update program on this web site says that I am using the latest driver. But in the download section of this web site, the latest driver is listed as .0.0.0 and dated November 9, 2004. The driver numbers or dates do not match, and the driver on the web seems to have an earlier number but a later date!?
Does anyone (especially a Creative tech support person who may be reading this post) have any idea what to do? The driver version is one issue. But the big issue is the system crashes.

Solution! I discovered the problem causing the system crash, and I think it is sufficiently interesting to note here so that others may benefit from what I discovered. First, there is no fundamental problem/conflict with the driver for Webcam Live Pro. The trouble in my instance is that I was running another program that utilized the web cam, and that program conflicted with the Webcam Live Pro program that was constantly running in the system tray. Basically, the program in the system tray is loaded with the set-up for Webcam Live Pro. It constantly monitors the computer system to see if the cam is connected to the computer. When it does this while another program is using the cam, the conflict occurs, causing the entire computer to reboot. The solution is to right mouse click the icon for Webcam Live Pro in the system tray, go to settings, and to remove the check that allows the program to check for the presence of the web cam. Just to be safe, I then also exited the Webcam Live Pro program from the system tray so that nothing from that program could interfere with my use of the webcam using another program.
The result is that the webcam is rock solid, with no system crashes. I have been running it nonstop for hours without a problem.

Live Preview Highlight is not working.

I recently downloaded Edge Code to a new work computer and the Live Preview Highlight is not working.
I have Edge Code installed on a personal computer, and it works great. The version I am using was downloaded about 6 months ago so I am not sure if they changed something with the most recent version. When I highlight a section within the html i.e. a table or row, it would highlight those same sections in the preview. However, this is not the case on my new computer.
Anybody know whats up? Is it setting on Chrome that I need to change or is there some update that I am not aware of.

I guess I assumed that you had Chrome setup to auto-update (like I have it). The only way Live Preview will work in a previous version of Edge Code is with an older version of Chrome.
But there are other reason why Live Preview may not work in latest version of Edge Code. Take a look at Live Preview section of Troubleshooting Guide.

Excel 2007 accessing PivotItem.Visible gives error if the field item value is a DATE

I have VBA code to manipulate the content of a pivot table - essentially it hides all but the first N items in a pivotfield. Under Excel 2003 the code works fine, as expected irrespective of the data content of the pivot field item. Under Excel
2007, if the data content is a date, the VBA code generates one of several error conditions.

I have an illustrative spreadsheet which permits the code to process two different pivot tables, one using a field containg dates; the other a field containing text. Under Excel 2003, the code works on both pivot tables. Under Excel 2007 it works
on the text field table, but fails on the date field table.
I have looked for answers on numerous support forums including answers.microsoft but found not found any answers... only the same or similar unanswered question.

I have made the following changes / additions to the problem illustrator:-
Adopted the use of lists for the data source of the pivot table
Removed reference to '(blank)' as a reserved item not hidden by the VBA code to avoid the possibility of hiding all items
In respect of my original code (MK1), utilised a 'real' item name to be the
reserved item
Added a new (MK2) macro to alter the number of visible items which
hides all but one of the VisibleItems collection
makes the first N items in the collection visible
checks that there are only N items visible (the position of the reserved item
might be greater than N)
The code still executes as expected under 2003, but fails (the same as before) under 2007 when the data type of the PivotItem is date.
The MK1 code fails when testing the current visibility of the Item before trying to set the visibility with:- RTE 1004 Unable to
get the PivotItems property of the PivotField Class
The MK2 code fails when trying to set the visibility with:- RTE 1004 Unable to
set the Visible property of the PivotItem Class as reported above. Note - given that MK2 avoids trying hide invisible items or unhide visible items, I no longer believe that this error is due to the attempt
to set visibility to current state as seen under Excel 2003. I am deeply confused by this now!
I observe with care the different CLASSES on which these failures are reported even though in each case the operations are on the PivotItem.Visible property - MK1 queries it / MK2 attempts to alter it.
Just in case you have been wondering where this is going, this spreadsheet has no prupose beyond illustrating the Excel 2003 / 2007 problem being encountered elsewhere when manipulating pivot table items whose value are dates. The requirement
is to provide a simple user interface to a complex managing reporting spreadsheet consisting of a significant number of pivot tables and charts - altering one cell causes the VBA code to modify the collection of pivot tables to deliver a revised view of the
data. All works fine for 2003 users of the model, but not 2007 users. I need one spreadsheet which will work correctly on both 2003 & 2007.
