Webcam Live! Pro causing rebooting/crashing of Windows XP Home

I have been having a persistent problem that apparently many other people are having (as I can see from posts). I thought I fixed it many times, but it keeps re-occurring. When using Webcam Live! Pro using Windows XP and an instant messenging program, my computer crashes or reboots spontaneously without warning. I finally obtained the exact error when this occurs. Here it is: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP:0x000000D (OxFFBDF000,Ox00000002, 0x0000000, 0xF5B7B4)
V0080Dev.Sys - Address F5B7B4 base at F5AA000, Date Stamp 427b894 When this happens, the camera seems to be working well for awhile, say 0-5 minutes, and then boom, everything crashes. Does anyone know how to read this error, or if this is a problem with the camera's driver?Warmly,Courtnoski

I should add that I am using the latest drivers for the camera, found on Creative's web site.

  • Webcam Live Pro causes system crash with Windows XP Home

Ever since installing Webcam Live Pro I have been having random system restarts. This ONLY happens when the webcam is being used. It happens when using the Creative Webcam Center or another application. Sometimes the restart will happen after a few minutes, and other times an hour or more. I am running Windows XP sp2 with all patches, and there are no driver conflicts listed in Device Manager. I have the cam set at 60 hz.
Even though there are no listed driver conflicts in Device Manager, there clearly is a driver conflict that occurs from time to time. I have read of other people having this same problem on this forum with Webcam Live Pro. I am using the driver ...0 which is dated 0//2004, and the automatic update program on this web site says that I am using the latest driver. But in the download section of this web site, the latest driver is listed as .0.0.0 and dated November 9, 2004. The driver numbers or dates do not match, and the driver on the web seems to have an earlier number but a later date!?
Does anyone (especially a Creative tech support person who may be reading this post) have any idea what to do? The driver version is one issue. But the big issue is the system crashes.

Solution! I discovered the problem causing the system crash, and I think it is sufficiently interesting to note here so that others may benefit from what I discovered. First, there is no fundamental problem/conflict with the driver for Webcam Live Pro. The trouble in my instance is that I was running another program that utilized the web cam, and that program conflicted with the Webcam Live Pro program that was constantly running in the system tray. Basically, the program in the system tray is loaded with the set-up for Webcam Live Pro. It constantly monitors the computer system to see if the cam is connected to the computer. When it does this while another program is using the cam, the conflict occurs, causing the entire computer to reboot. The solution is to right mouse click the icon for Webcam Live Pro in the system tray, go to settings, and to remove the check that allows the program to check for the presence of the web cam. Just to be safe, I then also exited the Webcam Live Pro program from the system tray so that nothing from that program could interfere with my use of the webcam using another program.
The result is that the webcam is rock solid, with no system crashes. I have been running it nonstop for hours without a problem.
I hope this helps someone else.
    Best,
    CB

  • Webcam Live Pro! Computer crashing driver problem

I have had the Webcam Live Pro! for a few months running on a Windows XP Home Emachines with a .8 ghz AMD processor. The driver that comes with the CD out of the box has a conflict that causes the entire computer to shut down and reboot (or sometimes to freeze) when using third-party software, such as an instant messenger. I originally called the Creative Techs about this, and they told me that there was no problem with the driver. But a month later, a new driver was posted on their web site that claimed to fix this exact problem. I uninstalled the old driver and installed the new driver. But the problem came back even with the new driver. The only handle I can get on it is that the problem tends to re-appear after using the camera for a number of days. That is, the shutdown/freeze problem goes away when I uninstall the driver and then re-install the driver. But then a few days of use (one hour a day, typically) causes the problem to reappear. Then the problem re-occurs every few minutes until I uninstall the driver and re-install the driver. After that I can use the camera for a few hours before the crash problem returns.
I am using this camera on a machine that I use for nothing more than video conferencing. No games or junk. I do not even do word processing on this computer. The computer crashes only when using the Creative Webcam Live Pro! I wish they would really fix this driver. I would pay double for this camera if it worked well. As it is now, I am researching other cameras.

If your windows XP machine reboots?while using Capture or when you are using Skype video calling of Yahoo video calling, try using a USB port that plugs directly into you mother board. Also make sure it is a USB2 port and not a USB port. I had the camera plugged into a USB card that I added to my computer and it caused it to reboot after using the camera for a short time. If the problem persists, remove the program and reinstall making sure the camera is not connected to your computer until the software tells you to hook it up.

  • Adobe acrobat pro 9.2 crashes in windows xp sp3 when closing a pdf

Adobe acrobat pro 9.2 crashes in windows xp sp3 when I close a pdf. This means that if I have multiple files open, all of them close. I get an error message from windows that the problem is due to windows' Data Execution Prevention (DEP). I tried making Adobe an exception to windows' DEP and re-started the computer but this did not help the problem. Any ideas about how to fix this problem?

So.. If we want to control the "hardware graphics acceleration", should it be done inside the Adobe Acrobat Pro ?
If yes, which part of option should we changed ?
If not, can someone tell me which way to setting this one ?
Do anybody have other input ? This problem makes me crazy
Thank you so much in advanced.

  • Webcam Live pro taking lots of fotos on its own!!

Hi guys, i have the webcam live pro and when i am in capture mode ... it takes so many fotos by itself without me pressing a thing. and by alot i mena hundreds unles si close the webcam centre. can anyone tell me why this is happening and what i can do to fix it's .. thanks

Try turning off automatic exposure in the settings. And adjust some of the other settings (gamma, brightness, exposure) until you get a picture which you're happy with. And try that. In the UK, films are made at 24fps (frames per second) PAL format, and in America it's 30fps NTSC format. So yes, 30fps is as good as it gets! It's as good as TV and better than a lot of other webcams.

  • WEBCAM LIVE PRO 15fps

THIS IS A DIRECT REQUEST TO CREATIVE SUPPORT
Is 5 frames per second the best we can hope to achieve with auto exposure on?
Whenever this issue is raised on these boards the Support staff go quiet, bury their heads.
So it would be good to get the official line to clear this up, AND QUICKLY.
Where do we (YOUR CUSTOMERS) stand on this issue?

    Catherina-CL
I have noticed the big red announcement at the top of the forums board.
I have also noticed the production description for the live pro webcam from this very site:
    Technical Specifications
    640x480 (VGA) CMOS sensor
Capture 640x480 video at 30 fps (USB 2.0)
So I don't give too much respect to either. I just feel a bit ripped off that with the Auto-exposure on and an overhead light and three desk lights switched on I'm getting 0 frames per second. Does that sound about right to you? (Oh and it keeps falling off my CRT monitor and the audio is still out of sync, even with the latest drivers). And the shop I bought it from won't refund me because they say that the unit is not broken.

  • Live Update 3 will fail on Windows Vista Home Premium

    Hi,
I have a P6N Diamond motherboard with BIOS 1.0, in a Windows Vista Home Premium system
I have downloaded Live Update 3 and tried to run it. I get various error messages one after another: "driver not valid", "Flash_MMIO_MAP DeviceIoControl error", etc, and then I have to close down Internet Explorer to be able to get back to a normal situation in the system.
Can you please let me know how to update the BIOS?
    Thanks.

Go in BIOS and make sure USB Legacy Support is Enabled(can be named USB KB/Storage Support), re-try to boot from your USB key again.
    If no change:
Use HP Formatter(http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/32594.asp) to change USB key geometry, format the USB key in FAT32 via HP Tool.
/* some USB keys are picky, and they need a special conditional to boot from it, Forum Tool is using the existing drive parameters */
Then re-run Forum Tool, when its done reboot PC and boot again from it.

  • ITunes 9.1 (64-bit) causing BSOD crashes with Windows 7

I installed iTunes 9.1 (64-bit) this evening and my computer running Windows 7 (64-bit) repeatedly experienced the blue screen of death (BSOD). The computer would restart in safe mode. Upon restart, the BSOD would occur again within a few minutes.
iTunes was successfully installed and was operable up until the blue screen.
I completed a system restore and my system is stable once again. However, certain iTunes files were removed and now iTunes will not function.
Does anyone have a link to an iTunes 9.0.3 for Windows 7 (64-bit)?
Has anyone experienced a similar problem and have a solution that allows 9.1 to work without crashing my machine?

    FF,
I had the exact same problem. I upgraded iTunes to 9.1 and it caused a BSOD. I booted into Windows Safe Mode (Hit F8 as soon as you see the Windows start up screen) and disabled the itunes services. Rebooted and the system is now working. I'm not sure what the deal is with the iTunes 9.1 but it definately breaks Windows 7.

  • Why does Acrobat Pro XI continually crash in Windows 8.x?

When using Acrobat Pro XI on a Dell Optiplex 990 runing Windows 8 and, after upgrade 8.1 it continually crashes. Just trying to save it will crash, but almost any operation will randomly have it fail.

I am having crash problems on Acrobat XI Pro using MS Surface Pro2 with Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit.
After you make a number of comments on a 13 page document; and if you scroll up or down to different pages all the comments (underlining, text boxes, call outs etc.) cannot be seen, the comments entered do not show till you make some more clicks or do something more. After sometime the comments will show up again- very awkward behavior by the program not experienced in Adobe Acrobat X Pro which I operated on a MS Surface Pro with Windows 8.0
The Surface Pro2 that I have has 8GB RAM, and there aren't any other applications/programs operating using the RAM.
Not sure if Adobe XI Pro is being tested on a Windows 8.1 with updates as necessary.
The fact that comments get missing make it difficult to view the document in a meeting on a screen with others......Discouraging to use Adobe.......the only option is to convert to MS Word and maintain stability of program and work done on it.
It does at times hang and then you have to salvage the document after you close and open the program again and at times if the file was not saved the data is lost.
    ADOBE PLEASE RESEARCH THIS !

  • Webcam Live PRO Bighness control

    Hello!
    I have two questons.
    1.
Is there any way to disable automatic brighness control?
    2.
Is brighness control done in cameras hardware or is it software based?
    Thanks for replies.

same problem here. I'm using the Creative Live camera with XP x64. Brand new drivers, never had the old ones (if there were old ones for x64). Freeze/locks up about 20 min into a MSN video conversation. Will do it every time too. The way I have found to avoid it is to close the conversation when things start to get choppy and then restart the conversation. Creative gave me a 27 step procedure to removed the drivers and then reinstall.... I built this computer and I can say his steps weren't for the faint of heart. He was nuts. He told me to reinstall the drivers off the CD.... But the drivers on the CD are so old they don't have the x64 drivers on it... Good luck guys cause I don't know if they are looking out for us (well I do have to say they were fast on at replying, but I'm not sure they thought about what they said before they said it)

  • Webcam Live Pro - manual zoom?

I have disabled face tracking but wonder - is there a way to manually zoom in /out?
    Paul

In the WebCam Center application go to the Capture tab. After everything settles down hit the Source button. A Properties window opens and that window's Extended Settings tab has manual controls for the zoom, and pan. The window also offers controls for white balance and such.

  • Webcam Live Pro

I've noticed a few posts on a problem with starting Webcam Centre generating the following error..
    Fatal Error: C:\program files\creative\shared files\CTTheme.dll load failed!
I was wondering if anyone had come across a resolution to this problem

In desperation reinstalling Windows XP to SP2 level and then installing the camera fixed the problem

  • Blurry motion webcam live pro

Overnight my webcam started capturing video at a lower res. the motion is blurry. the file size is considerably smaller. i need my old smooth motion back. i reinstalled the software from the cd four times. the first time fixed the problem temporarily. the next three didn't help the problem at all. thanks.

Please Creative, why are we having this problem. All of a sudden my camera became very blurry.
No there's no focus ring on it. The lenses are recessed inside a plastic cover. (it's creative live cam voice)
    The lenses are clear.
Yes, I tried on another PC.
    It happened for no reason.
    The camera runs very hot.

  • ITunes BEX crash in Windows 7 Home Premium

Hi all, trust me when I say I researched this extensively before asking. I just got a new iPhone 5C today, and of course had to upgrade to the latest 64-bit iTunes from the version that had been flawlessly working with my 3GS for years. It absolutely will not finish opening no matter what: I've tried reinstalling, using an older version of 64-bit iTunes from oldapps.com, uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of QuickTime, and removing the K-Lite Mega Codec Pak (another bizarre suggestion that apparently worked for some). All this activity was followed up with deep registry clean using Wise Registry Cleaner and other standard housekeeping procedures.
Here is the crash report -

I can see this issue has been plaguing iTunes upgrades in Windows for some y4ears now. Hope someone can help with the latest iteration, or none of my apps or music will ever make it onto the phone, and I'll likely tell my mobile provider I want to go back to the 3GS. TIA...

This is not Apple Support, but iTunes users.  Turingtest2 has a detailed tutorial here: Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates which should help you sort out your problem.  Some users encounter issues where the components that make up iTunes are not correctly removed, replaced or updated when a new version of iTunes is installed; others here can advise you on the procedure to follow to remove all the iTunes components before installing an update.
