Webcam Live Saturating on Outdoor Pictures

Has anyone used a webcam live for outdoor pictures (looking through a window)? My camera is saturating on the outdoor light level. I have tried to use automatic adjust and set exposure to minimum with manual, but still can't see anything outside, only white screen.
Going now to buy it some sunglasses. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Al

I have the same problem - only worse.
I am setting up the webcam through Skpe's video settings and get exactly the same issue - the difference being that the exposure blows out to white immediately after leaving the settings.
That is - I toggle white balance and band filter between outdoor and something else,
leaving them on outdoor in the end.
Exposure is set to auto (non-auto doesnt help - min is too bright)
And it works. I can see the outdoor image very nicely in the little window in the skype settings. Close the settings and I get whiteout again - until I move indoors.
Open the settings - fiddle again - I can get it working.
Same thing happens with any other app like Windows Movie Maker. Same thing on other machines.
This is a hardware and/or driver issue.
Did anyone get this resolved?
Graphics card suggestion is just an insult from Creative!

  • Webcam Live pro taking lots of fotos on its own!!

Hi guys, i have the webcam live pro and when i am in capture mode ... it takes so many fotos by itself without me pressing a thing. and by alot i mena hundreds unles si close the webcam centre. can anyone tell me why this is happening and what i can do to fix it's .. thanks

Try turning off automatic exposure in the settings. And adjust some of the other settings (gamma, brightness, exposure) until you get a picture which you're happy with. And try that. In the UK, films are made at 24fps (frames per second) PAL format, and in America it's 30fps NTSC format. So yes, 30fps is as good as it gets! It's as good as TV and better than a lot of other webcams.

  • Installing Webcam Live! on Windows Vista x64

This will inform all of the poor consumers who bought a camera shortly before vista was released, only to realize that the camera would not work with thier operating system that they would soon update too. I was very frustrated trying to get my "Webcam Live!" to work with windows vista ultimate 64 bit edition so i did some trial and error, trying basically every driver on the site.
step 1: be sure that your camera is unplugged, and you dont have any remnants of other drivers on your system, and download the driver for Windows XP Professional 64 bit located here?http://us.creative.com/support/downl...type=0&x=9&y=7
Step 2: right click the setup?icon and click properties
Step 3: click the "compatibility" tab click "run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows XP (Service pack 2)
Step 4: right click the setup icon and choose "run this program as administrator" proceed with setup. The setup may get hung up, but as long as it gets to 100% before freezing you should still be okay.
Step 5: Plug your camera in?Step6: Open your device driver. In my case the driver installed correctly and that was the last step. you may have to manually install the driver by clicking on the device, clicking update driver, and then point the computer to where it was installed to. this was very frustrating for me to figure out and took me about 2 hours. i hope i saved you some time, good luck.

    Maybe you can hel me
Im unable to install itunes 7.0.2 because each time I try to i get an error message saying I have insufficient access to that key...the key being HKEYlocalmachine\software\microsoft windows\...etc, etc. etc...
    Can you helP???

  • Webcam Live Pro causes system crash with Windows XP Home

Ever since installing Webcam Live Pro I have been having random system restarts. This ONLY happens when the webcam is being used. It happens when using the Creative Webcam Center or another application. Sometimes the restart will happen after a few minutes, and other times an hour or more. I am running Windows XP sp2 with all patches, and there are no driver conflicts listed in Device Manager. I have the cam set at 60 hz.
Even though there are no listed driver conflicts in Device Manager, there clearly is a driver conflict that occurs from time to time. I have read of other people having this same problem on this forum with Webcam Live Pro. I am using the driver ...0 which is dated 0//2004, and the automatic update program on this web site says that I am using the latest driver. But in the download section of this web site, the latest driver is listed as .0.0.0 and dated November 9, 2004. The driver numbers or dates do not match, and the driver on the web seems to have an earlier number but a later date!?
Does anyone (especially a Creative tech support person who may be reading this post) have any idea what to do? The driver version is one issue. But the big issue is the system crashes.

Solution! I discovered the problem causing the system crash, and I think it is sufficiently interesting to note here so that others may benefit from what I discovered. First, there is no fundamental problem/conflict with the driver for Webcam Live Pro. The trouble in my instance is that I was running another program that utilized the web cam, and that program conflicted with the Webcam Live Pro program that was constantly running in the system tray. Basically, the program in the system tray is loaded with the set-up for Webcam Live Pro. It constantly monitors the computer system to see if the cam is connected to the computer. When it does this while another program is using the cam, the conflict occurs, causing the entire computer to reboot. The solution is to right mouse click the icon for Webcam Live Pro in the system tray, go to settings, and to remove the check that allows the program to check for the presence of the web cam. Just to be safe, I then also exited the Webcam Live Pro program from the system tray so that nothing from that program could interfere with my use of the webcam using another program.
The result is that the webcam is rock solid, with no system crashes. I have been running it nonstop for hours without a problem.
I hope this helps someone else.

  • Outdoor pictures too bright

    Hi,
I have problem with outdoor pictures taken with my blackberry, they are too bright and often come out as a white screen. Object on screen before I take the picture it looks good but once picture is taken screen changes and picture appears as almost white screen. Indoor pictures are still good. I played with different white ballance settings but it had no effect at all. Anybody have the same problem or solution to this?
    Thank you

I finally was able to find a post that resolves this issue. It turns out to be a software problem related to
OS 4.5.0.37. After upgrading to 4.5.0.69, camera is working fine again.

  • Windows 7, WebCam Live! Ultra, and Gray options

I used this camera on Windows XP and it worked fine. But recently I switched to Windows 7. There doesn't seem to be any driver for this webcam on Windows 7. I tried the beta driver for Vista and it seems to work. (green light on the camera and visible video on Webcam Center program). However, now that I'm on Windows 7, I can't seem to change any settings. They are all grayed out. These settings are causing lag to my video like frame skips. How can I fix this gray option issue?
TL;DR -> Worked on xp, switched to windows 7, options are grayed. no windows 7 drivers for WebCam Live! Ultra.

  • Webcam Live! is fully installed...but webcam center isnt functioning...??

i have installed the webcam live! software, and the hardware a few times now and every time i do it, restart my computer, and try to open up the webcam center to take a snapshot....webcam center loads...and after like 5 seconds it says something about an error and asks me to send an error report. When i close the error message, webcam center closes automatically and this happens every time...i've done the installation perfectly according to the instructions...it says there is a step when im supposed to click "continue anyway" but i havent had that come up at all. I install the software first, camera disconnected, then when i finish the software, it tells me to connect the cam, i do so, and it completes the installation. Yet, webcam center manages to keep giving me a headache every time i try to open it by freezing up and shutting down. i have a 2006 sony vaio top of the line computer so that shouldnt be the problem XP service pack 2 home edition. can you help please?

  • Webcam Live! Capture Video Not Working

I have Creative Webcam Live! Previously, I was able to use the capture function to take small video clips.
I am no longer able to do so. When I attempt to Capture a video, the screen freezes but the time does start to count up as if a video is taking. When I stop the capture, a video clip box appears on the right hand side, but it's blank. When I attempt to play the blank box, the little indicator that scrolls across the bottom of a video when it plays moves about an inch and keeps looping. Please help. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software. Still doesn't work. Thank you.

    Hi,
I'd suggest the following. First thing to do is to see if there is a live video being displayed in the webcam app. Assuming that there is then it would look like the camera is installed correctly.
There may be another capture device interfering with caputre so what would be a good idea would be to clear out the C windows twain and windows twain 32 folder. Backup the contents first then delete. You'll have to reload the camera software afterwards
    Hope this helps

  • WebCam Live Microphone

This is my first post on this forum. The matter has probably been covered before but I'm not sure how to access it.
Yesterday I installed my new 'WebCam Live' camera and microphone. I use a headphone set with attached mic for "skype" and prefer to use the headphone mic over the WebCam mic.
I am told that there is a way to set it up so that I can do this. I did not find anywhere in the set-up that
    indicated a choice was possible.
Does anyone out there use this method ?
If you can help me out here I would appreciate it.
If you care to e-mail me my address is [email protected]
    Thanks...........Robert.

Thanks Jason, but the fact of the matter is that there is a definite procedure to configure the set up for a different mic other than the one that comes with the bundle. I have been in touch with "Customer Support " and this apparently is the case. However I was not able to download the page/article that they recommended as there appears to be some problem with it.
Here is the address see if you can access it --- if you can please let me know.
