WebCam NX - Can't snapshot while Monitor on

I like to keep the monitor running all day to monitor my office, but my wife likes to use the camera as well. since i have the monitor running all day she is unable to take snap shots because it says it's "being used by another resource". is there anyway around this

Can I connect 2 monitors to a Mac Mini?

I am thinking of buying a Mac Mini for an art installation project and will need to connect two monitors to it. Please can someone let me know if I can connect more than 1 monitor to a Mac mini. Can they be 19" monitors or must they be smaller resolution? Do they have to be of a particular specification? Any recommendations? Thanks very much.

A simple splitter would theoretically support anything up to the mini's maximum resolution, but in practice it depends on the actual displays being used as the whether the mini correctly identifies the devices and offers the correct range of resolution options. Some juggling (such as disconnecting one display while the system boots or wakes from sleep) can help, but it really does depend on the display(s) as to whether the mini behaves correctly via a splitter of this sort.
The Matrox device is technically far better because it presents itself to the mini as a single display, but of course it limits maximum resolution across both screens, and thus isn't really all that attractive a proposition unless 15" LCDs are to be used rather than anything larger.
The USB-based device seems to offer the best of both worlds - or at least will offer the best of both worlds when released with tried and tested Mac drivers. It's not all that clear why Mac drivers have been slow in coming for these devices when they have been around for Windows for some time now, and a number of manufacturers had pre-announced Mac versions as much as a year ago. At the general price of $99 or so, a USB adaptor would provide a reasonably low cost and (importantly) flexible way to add a second display.... if such a device can be currently had!
The forgoing is the reason the 'yes' answer is not the short one!

Can't plug pc monitor to ps3

Hi everyone, I'm having a hard time trying tp figure out how to plug my ps3 to my pc monitor (asus s220hql). Bear in mind that two years ago i managed to do that with no problems, with the same cable/same ps3/same monitor
Anyway, my monitor has only dvi/vga inputs, so i plug the hdmi/dvi cable in, then the ps3 to an old scart tv, power everything up and expect to see on the old tv the screen 'an hdmi input has been revealed', but that doesn't happen. Anyway i can see in the monitor that is being displayed a blank image with resolution 750x576. I go to video settings and change the ps3 output manually, but while i can see that thr image is being refreshed on my monitor, nothing displays, and it seems like the ps3 'knows that': there should be a menu where it asks me if everything is fine, but if i press x on my controller it should selct yes or no, and either go back to the previous screen or continue forward, but none of that happens. The same thing happens if i plug an hdmi vga converter(hdmi male in the ps3 and vga female)+plus vga cable, except that the ps3 asks me on startup wheter i want to switch to hdmi or not.
I tried the hold button down method. Please help,

I found that "Asus s220hql ABD" has HD resolution so that shouldn't be a problem. Did you choose 1080p? Tried 1080i instead? I heard that you could need an HDCP-converter for some screens.

Try these to solve your issue,
tRFC Error - status running Yellow for long time (Transact RFC will be enabled in Status tab in RSMO).
Step 1: Goto Details, Status get the IDoc number,and go to BD87 in R/3,place the cursor in the RED IDoc entroes in tRFC
queue thats under outbound processing and click on display the IDOC which is on the menu bar.
Step 2: In the next screen click on Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call)
place the cursor on the particular Transaction ID and go to EDIT in the menu bar --> press 'Execute LUW'
(Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call) ---> select the TrasnID ---> EDIT ---> Execute LUW)
Rather than going to SM58 and executing LUW directly it is safer to go through BD87 giving the IDOC name as it will take you
to the particular TRFC request for that Idoc.
OR
Go into the JOB Overview of the Load there you should be able to find the Data Package ID.
(For this in RSMO Screen> Environment> there is a option for Job overview.)
This Data Package TID is Transaction ID in SM58.
OR
SM58 > Give * / user name or background (Aleremote) user name and execute.It will show you all the pending TRFC with
Transaction ID.
In the Status Text column you can see two status
Transation Recorded and Transaction Executing
Don't disturb, if the status is second one Transaction Executing. If the status is first one (Transation Recorded) manually
execute the "Execute LUWs"
OR
Directly go to SM58 > Give * / user name or background (Aleremote) user name and execute. It will show TRFCs to be executed
for that user. Find the particular TRFC (SM37 > Req name > TID from data packet with sysfail).select the TrasnID (SM58) --->
EDIT ---> Execute LUW
OR
In RSMO, select the particular load you want to monitor.
In the menu bar, Environment >>> Transact. RFC >>> Select whichever is required, BW or Source System.
In the next screen you can select the Execute button and the IDOCS will be displayed.

The failure happened because of wrong data or code.
I want to know, whether we can change the data/code while monitoring and get it reflect while the next re-start of the same message.

the only way (within the standard)
is I believe using the test tool (component monitoring) to send the message directly to Integration Engine
but... this does not always work (at least in my case)
you should try to validate the message before sending it or develop a way to resend it from the <b>sender system</b> with changed data - this is the best practice but I agree that tool for changing the data in XI would be very helpful

Macbook pro(2008 later) can not recognise external monitor(NEC UXI2090) with mini-DP to DVI adapter with 9600GT

I bought mini-DP to DVI frome Apple several monthes ago and it worked well in that time until yesterday the external monitor show me no signal sign. Other PCs were connected with the same cable and monitor and they are fine. I am wondering there is something wrong in the adaptor or macbook pro. Furthermore I found the external monitor can display nornally when I switched to 9400 graphic card and used mini-DP to VGA adapter. If I switch to 9600GT no signal again. If I switch 9400 using mini-DVI, it is shown on the external screening: Out of range... In a word, In the mode of 9600GT, mac can not recognise external monitor(I can not detect it in the systerm preference even I press detect display buttun) and 9400 works in VGA mode. However when I connect adapter to mac, the screen showed blue flash.
I reseted SMC, no use; I created a new account or enter mac to safe mode, no use; so far I did not reseted PRAM beacuse of something wrong of my system. I am downlaoding Mountain Lion OS and will install it. Then I will reset PRAM and try again.
I do not know whether I shoud change the adapter or the single-link DVI cable to dual-link. Someone said it is useful in their condition. I tried some methods from BBS, such as connected when devices were off and then open, and so on. I failed.
Any suggestion for this problem?

I turns out that the logic board of my MacBook Pro was faulty (despite being brand new).
I took it to the Apple Store, presented the problem, and one of the Tech's came to the same conclusion that I had -- hardware failure. Phone support was no help in the matter (and even told me that what I was trying to do wasn't a supported option, which is rediculous). However, the Genius Bar did take care of the problem, and my MacBook Pro was back to me with a replaced logic board within a few days.

I have a Mid-2012 13 inch Macbook Pro MD102. I have one external monitor connected through the mini display port but I have three more monitors laying around the house I would like to put to use. You can use USB or Ethernet connection to print. I always define USB as second printer and I can print direct.

Can we create a monitor based on an existing rule in SCOM?

We see the built-in rule "Collect Buffer cache hit ratio" under "SQL 2008 DB Engine". And it is apparatently a collect type of rules and by default it doesn't generate any alert if the buffer cache hit ratio is lower than our threshold. Is there any way we can create a custom monitor based on this built-in rules so we can get alerts for the low ratio?

Sure, you should be able to author a monitor that looks at this performance counter (assuming it's a performance counter in SQL) and generate an alert if it's above a particular threshold. Essentially the new monitor would look at the counter independently
from the rule that's there already....
This does not answer the question if the Collection rule is not based on a Perfmon counter. One such example is Total messages in queue for the Microsoft Message Queuing management packs. What I would like to do is set a static threshold based on
the data already collected by the "Collect Total Messages in All Queues" rule. This rule is based on a script, not a perf mon counter.
Is there a way to monitor the data that has already been collected with a static threshold, without building a separate collection rule and monitor?

Remote Desktop windows 7 ultimate can't use two monitors

i have two computers in another office that remote into two other computers here at my site, all 4 computers run windows 7 ultimate, about a week to 10 days ago the two remote computers can still connect to the computers at my site but can only use one monitor
not dual monitors as before the 10 days or so. The use all displays box is checked in the remote desktop client, i have two sonicwall firewalls with a site to site vpn connection between the offices that they use to remote
can't get the dual monitors to work, any help would be appreciated

HP ENVY 700-210xt CTO Desktop PC/windows 8.1: can't display 2nd monitor

Detail information:
- HP ENVY 700-210XT CTO Desctop PC
- One VGA port and one DVI-D port (used DVI-D to DVI-D cable to connect to second monitor)
- video card is a buildin card on motherboard
- Two monitors: AOC 10X16, Acer 12X15 (with both VGA and DVI-D ports) and both working perfectly if connected to computer thru VGA cable.
- When start computer, both monitors showing 'HP' and circle of stars to indicate Window is starting (so I think DVI-D connection and is fine).
- Then second (DVI-D) monitor shows no signal and VGA monitor continues and everything is fine.
- If I go to Devices/Project/Second screen and choose any of the options: Duplicate/ExtendSecond screen only, nothing shows. After awhile, system says can't find second monitor.
Questions:
1) if it is OK to use two different kinds/sizes of monitors?
2) what else I can do to make the computer to use the DVI-D monitor?

Hi,
If you can't see the basic HP UEFI boot menu information with a DVI connection then you have a hardware issue. It's either your monitors or DVI cable or the DVI port on your PC. It's definitely not a software issue as digital drivers don't get loaded until later in the Windows boot process.
Test the monitors and the DVI cable on another PC to ensure that they work correctly. Alternatively, try a different DVI cable and monitor on your PC.

I retract my previous "No." If you can live with limited performance (slow refresh/choppy action video/no gaming) on the second external monitor, you could use a USB video adapter and a DVI-HDMI adapter to connect it to a USB port on your computer.

Yes, run one from HDMI and the other from Thunderbolt/minidisplayport sockets. In EyeTV Preferences check the screen you want for full screen use and make sure your Dock is on the other one.
