Webcam Ultra live for notebooks not detected?

I recently tried to install my Webcam Ultra live for notebooks. I couldn't find the installation CD, so I downloaded the driver in accordance with Creative Labs email.

Unfortunately Snow Leopard removed many thrid party cam support. They keep working under Leopard and Tiger, though.
To get a cam working under 10.6 be sure it uses the UVC standard.
A good and safe choice is the Xbox Live Vision which works perfectly with 10.6.

I have a Logitech V-UVB49 P/N 860-000009 and although Logitech's website says it works with Mac OS, it does not seem to work with Snow Leopard 10.6.4.
I have tried open source macam 0.9.2 but it does not recognise my webcam either. Is there any software I could download to make it work ?
    Any help appreciated.

  • My internal webcam on HP EliteBook 8460w not detected in device manager and not detected by driver

    Hello all...
I just bought HP EliteBook 8460w, after I installed all the program and driver I find out that the internal webcam is not working. When I have check in the device manager the webcam is not listed. Then I tried to download the newest software/driver of it, it appears a message box that mention the webcam is not detected, please enable it from the bios. Then I checked from the bios, the webcam is not listed to be enable. Afterward, I was wonder maybe the bios is not up to date. Then I updated the bios, but still after I checked, the webcam is still not listed to be enable.
So please if anyone have the same experience or might know some answer or solution for it, I would be very happy to try. Its starting to get on my nerve.
    Thank you very much before....
    Cheers,
    Denmuh

Hi, I figured out how to get the camera working on my 8460w laptop.  I am running Windows XP SP3.  No guarantee this is what will fix yours, but here's what I did:
I installed these two drivers from the HP.COM site:
    First -HP Universal Camera Driver
    link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
Second -HP High Definition (HD) Webcam Firmware
    link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
Control Panel - System - Harware - Device Manager
Under Imaging Devices category, look for an existing camera device line.
    Uninstall this device.
Then after a few moments, Windows recognized the camera again and automatically installed it with the right drivers (since it is really just a device connected through an internal USB port).
    Hope this helps you too.

  • Notebook not detecting Wifi or available networks

So usually when I start up my Notebook my computer starts up and automatically connects to my home WIFI. Well yesterday when I turned on my laptop it didn't connect or even show the WIFI signal at the bottom right notification bar. Instead there was this new icon that said I had to connect my laptop to a Ethernet cabel that looks like a phone jack? When I went to my Available Networks setting Wifi wasn't even an option. This laptop has a tendancy of making changes overnight so now this is frustrating cause I can't connect to the internet of use my laptop. Someone please help!

All you got to do is wrap your Notebook in a towel (make sure notebook not exposed) then let it be in there for 5 hours. Once thats complete then your notebook should be able to detect wifi or avalible networksaalvarez391 wrote:

  • External display for T520 not detected

    Hi!
I have ThinkPad T520 and Samsung 17'' display with DVA output. I bought DVI-VGA adapter and connected the display to laptop's VGA input. The external display is not detected - it is not present in Windows 7 display properties and it shows "No connection, check signal cable" on it's screen. I don't think that there is something wrong with adapter, because it's new. How can I setup it correctly?
    Thanks!

    Hi, koles
Thank you for the information. In the past, updating BIOS was something that was rarely done, as it could lock up and not work, which would render the computer useless if it failed. Today, however, it is not like it once was. As with updates, there is still some risk involved, but there is now a utility that will update the BIOS for you. If you'd like, you can update all the other drivers first and then do the BIOS as a last resort if you would rather not try it unless you need to.
Hope it helps. Keep me posted!
    Best,
    Adam

  • A solution for idevice not detected/synced with itunes (11.3 ios 7.1.2 also here)

    hello !
    -the problem i had :
all perfect, but since last itunes my iphone 5s was not detected anymore by itunes 11.3 or 2 (who cares... but me)
updated my ios to 7.1.2 then tryied again to sync WIFI-USB to iTunes... => fail !
(i thinked about wiaitng for a next itunes and/or ios from apple to fix that... but i wanted to fix fastler.)
(Probelms some have : they reboot their iphone with "connect to itunes" coz their iphone want to be  "RESTOREd" on tiunes when plugged... => THERe NO MIRACLES for that... wait ios update n/or itunes update so..)
ALWAYS SAVE YOUR idevice USING ICLOUD !!!! IT SAVES ... ALL !! (includings apps data, but the apps themselves ! USE IT ! i done this...)
-a Fix i have done that worked perfect for me :
my iphone so was working perfect after ios 7.1.2 update but could not sync...
so i activated icloud sync on it .... used the "sync to icloud - SAVe NOW" ....
    and...
    (crossing fingers..)
    i restored my idevice !
(/!\ SINCE my iPhone 3G 16 Mb i never had any problems... or just a bit but always tried to solve by using google or YAHOO..)
so i restored ALL my iphone LIKE AS LAST STATE ! (i had just to DL all apps, but it's automatik....)
games saves, apps saves ? (probly too... will test...), all photos docs etc.... where on icloud it was just 1,2 Gb data (not including apps again.)
-iTunes was not detecting my iDevice (iphone 5s) :
for this i searched (hadly) on this forum... and found this solution that worked for me :
(Itunes can't recognize my IPhone ) <- click topik link
    if i remember well ... (i am on PC win 8.1 x64 bits) ...
    you must desinstalle :
"APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE", "iTUNES" and "APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT" and (.... 30 sec plz...) .. and " APPPLE application support" also...
(not sure but check this link just up here ^ ....)
    voilà...
    ->
THINK ALSO, YOUR iDEVICE USB CABLE MUST BE "CERTIFIED FOR APPLE" .... i bought a chineze cable for 5 € did not worked...
i bought a "BELKIN" on Amazon it works flawless... (coz it's certified apple, even it's not an apple... but solid one)
    ->
don't forget to reboot your system before relaunching the itunes if u need reboot...
i hope i helped somes here...
iDevice are REALLY NICE i love them but sometyimes they caprices.... (sciences is unperfect)...
-> dont let it down (this topik) this can serves... well !
    peace...

ALWAYS SAVE YOUR idevice USING ICLOUD !!!! IT SAVES ... ALL !! (includings apps data, but the apps themselves ! USE IT ! i done this...)

  • Notebook not detecting printer

I had a network between my pc and notebook.  Now my PC which is old and not worth fixing isn't working.  so I have connected my printer (USB) directly to my notebook and it will print things from the notebook but I couldn't scan anything.  (HP C6280 all-in-one printer)  I tried installing with the disk so I could get the HP Solution software on the notebook. I the install stopped at one point because it can't seem to detect the printer.  I don't know if it has some thing to do with the printer port?  It is now on a USB port with virtual printer port for USB.  I guess what I want to know is,  is the network hook up keeping me from installing the printer directly to the notebook?  How do I fix this?
    Vandy

You say the "PC" was old and is now not working.  I'm guessing you had a disk with your printer installation files on it that worked in that old PC.  I'm also guessing that your laptop is a lot newer and may have a newer OS on it.  I would delete everything on the laptop that has anything to do with the printer that came from that CD and then download the latest complete installation file set for that printer that is designed for the OS on your laptop.

  • USB Ports on HP G60-230US Notebook Not Detecting USB Devices

I've had an HP G60-230US Notebook PC for about three and a half years now, and all of a sudden tonight my USB ports decided to all stop working.  I first noticed it when I tried to hook up my iPod to sync it and it didn't show up in iTunes.  I unplugged my wireless mouse to see if the other USB port would work with no luck, and when I plugged my wireless mouse back in it wasn't detected either.  I tried restarting my computer twice to see if that would take care of the problem but it didn't.
My notebook currently runs Windows Vista.  On a normal day I'll have my external harddrive (WD My Passport Essential 500 GB), my wireless mouse (Microsoft Wireless Mobile 3500) and my Targus Chillmat with 4 USB hubs in the back plugged into my 3 USB ports.  My printer is usually plugged into one of the Chillmat's USB ports.  When I want to sync my iPod I usually unplug the Chillmat because none of the USB hubs on it will detect the iPod.  At the moment my wireless mouse will still work if I leave it plugged into its USB port when I restart my computer, and all the chillmat is doing is cooling my laptop down.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

You may have exceeded the available power capacity of the USB ports in your notebook PC too many times. That can result in non functioning (forever)  ports. That is the specific reason that I recommend only using externally powered USB hubs.
You can check the current carrying capacity of the USB ports and see how much they are using via the device manager.
Open Device Manager and then right-click a USB root hub. Select properties and then the Power tab.
This particular system has many ports available.

  • IMovie for iPad not detecting video shot on iPhone 4

I recently purchased iMovie for iPad with the hope that I would be able to use video shot on my iPhone 4 but with no luck.. I have about 10 30sec clips and non of them appear in iMovies video "bin"
    Any ideas?

    Hi all
Found a really cool app called simpltransfer which allows you to transfer photos and video between iDevices!!
The app has a lite version (which allows you to transfer from within your 1st 50 files listed in your device's camera roll or photo library) for free download.
S now I can edit away on my iPad ... Soon to be uploaded to YouTube n Facebook for all my friends viewing pleasure!! LOL
More apps should have lite versions as trials!!! Too often I've paid the $1 or $2 only to be disappointed that the app does not live up to its claims ... Like 100 cameras in 1 for iPad.
Anyway .. Thanks for all the help!!

  • Microphone won't work for Creative Live for Notebook

Okay, so i bought the webcam and that works great, but I went to use the microphone and i can't get it to work at all! I've plugged it correctly, and I can hear my computer through the earpiece but I can't get my computer to hear me!! Any ideas?

    ojos_delangel,
That depend on what type of soundcard you have and what software it comes bundled with. If you have a Creative soundcard, you can check those volumes via the Creative Surround Mixer software. If not, you can go to Control Panel->Sounds and Audio devices->Audio tab. Under Sound recording, make sure the correct sound device is selected. Next click at the volume button and make sure the microphone is selected and ain't muted. Also, you might want to do a simple sound recording test via the Start->Accessories->Entertainment->Sound Recorder.

  • Xperia Arc Bridge for Mac not detecting

    Hi
I am using a Xperia Arc (LT15i) android version 2.3.4. I haven't updated this phone in ages and it is build number 4.0.2.A.0.62.
I'm using Sony Bridge for  Mac 3.2(3202).
I have been trying to update my phone. Unfortunately, Bridge for Mac doesn't detect that I have a device connected (using MTP mode) in order to update it. The program detects that I have a phone connected when I connect in MSC mode. The USB is good. I have tried turning it on and off and reconnecting and restarting the program.
    Any tips?

    Hi Dantroy,
I apologize for the delay in an answer. Do you get any error messages when trying to connect the phone in MTP mode or does nothing happen at all?
If you do get error messages could you please provide me with error logs as it's difficult to know what your problem is without more information. Otherwise, I would just suggest trying to reinstall Bridge as well as trying a different USB-cable (even though you say it's working).
Here's how to get error logs out of Bridge:
    1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
    2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...
    3. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Export logs"
    4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip
    5. PM that file to me or post the contents here
I'm sorry I can't solve your problem right away.
    Kind Regards,
    David

  • Tips for when your webcam is not detected

EDIT:  If you have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and are experiencing this issue please read this document.
Here are some tips for resolving a webcam not detected problem.  I see this question get asked a lot so here are the steps you should take to resolve the issue.
To begin you should make sure the device is being detected by Windows.  The following instructions are for Windows 7, but should be very similar for Windows Vista and Windows 8.
Option 1: Check Device Manager to make sure it is working properly.
Click your Start button, type “Device Manager,” and press Enter.
Once Device Manager loads click “View” and then “Show Hidden Devices.”
    Locate the “Imaging Devices” section.
Note whether you see the webcam here.
If the webcam is listed, right click it and verify that it is not “Disabled.”
If webcam is listed and not disabled, move onto Option 2.  If the webcam is not listed you will move onto Option 4.
Option 2:   Allow Windows to Re-install the device.
While still in Device Manager right click on your webcam and select “Uninstall”
If prompted select “remove driver and driver package.”
Reboot your notebook and allow Windows to attempt to reinstall the webcam.
If Windows detects the webcam verify the functionality of the webcam.
If Windows does not detect the webcam and install it move onto Option 3.
Option 3:  Manually install the drivers for your webcam.
Use this website to determine your product/model number.
Visit the HP Support Page and use this product number to visit your product’s specific page.
Go to “Drivers and Software” and locate the driver for your webcam.  NOTE: the drivers for the webcam are sometimes bundled with the YouCam software.
    Download and install this driver.
    Reboot the PC.
    Verify functionality.
Option 4:  Manually re-detecting the hardware.
    Disconnect all external devices.
    Shut down the notebook.
Remove the battery and AC power.
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Reinstall the battery and AC power.  Then turn the notebook on.
Once Windows is loaded go back to Device Manager.
Selection “Action” and then “Scan for hardware changes.”
If Device Manager detects the hardware allow it to install.
If Device Manager does not detect the hardware see Option 5.
Option 5: System Restore and System Recovery.
This is outlined very well in this document.  Note that any data that is not backed up prior to a recovery will be lost.
    Options 6: Repair or replacement.
If none of these solutions have worked for you it is likely that you are experiencing a hardware failure.  It is possible to replace the webcam or reseat a loose ribbon cable.  However, this is one of the more difficult repairs on the notebook.  If you would like to attempt this repair you can visit your notebook’s support page and navigate to the “Manuals” section.  There is normally a “Maintenance and Service Guide” for the notebooks, this will cover the disassembly of the notebook.  You can then use HP Parts Surfer to locate the part for your notebook.
If you do not wish to attempt a repair yourself you can inquire with HP about a repair.  For customers in the US/Canada you can call 1-800-474-6836.  If you’re not in this region you’ll need to visit HP’s Support Site to get your area’s contact information.

  • Dv7t Quad - Windows 7 64bit - Internal HP Webcam not detected by Device Manager

New system - one re-install of Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.  All else is running as expected.   (SimplePass is even cooperating.)  Webcam is missing from the Device Manager.
I believe the onboard (internal) HP TrueVision HD Webcam worked originally (after purchase).  I reinstalled the OS (fighting with SimplePass - story not worth telling).  Never checked the webcam.  Weeks later...  The webcam is not detected and is not listed in the Device Manager.  Speccy64 (freeware used to detect and monitor all sorts of system specs) does not see the webcam.  Skype does not see the webcam.  YouCam software does not detect the webcam.  Nada, zip, zero: No webcam.
I've already "chatted" with HP, requested, and reinstalled the webcam driver.  No luck, there.
BIOS is up to date (F1.A 7/20/2011).  (Everything is up to date - the laptop is new and is constantly updated.)
I'm open to the obvious, that of returning to "factory rebuild", but it's a headache to avoid so soon after just getting this beast where I want it.  I do have a recovery disk and assuming it has anything more than just more drivers on it, it may be useful if I could figure out how to use it.
    Ideas?
    Thanks in Advance!
    Kind Regards,
    Dragon-Fur

There is no harm in recovering your Notebook to factory state but I highly doubt that would fix your issue.
It could be a faulty webcam module which is not been recognized. I suspect you might have to send the Notebook in for a warranty repair to get it fixed .
