Webcenter Kudos service

We are facing the below exception
oracle.webcenter.peopleconnections.kudos.KudosServiceException: Feedback message cannot be added
at oracle.webcenter.peopleconnections.kudos.internal.model.UserKudosImpl.addKudos(UserKudosImpl.java:262)
Does any one know about the required settings or log details of KudosService.
Let us know the chances when can this issue occur.

Does it bubble up to the surface and do people have issues when using the environment?
Sometimes the error can be an internal one. I also see errors when i look in my logs but some of them can be ignored. I know it's not pretty but not every error in the log is something the user sees.
can you provide the complete stacktrace of this error? Maybe there is some more info further down the stack.

  • WebCenter Links Service for Fusion Object

    I am working on a Fusion Application that has the following requirements:
    1. Links between Fusion Business Objects (i.e. VO). For example, link a Fusion Srevice Request Object to another Fusion Service Request Object or to a Fusion "Solution" object.
    2. Link from WebCenter resources to Fusion Business Object. For example, link a a Web Center discussion thread to Fusion Service Request object.
    3. Link from fusion Business Object to WebCenter resources. For example, link a Fusion Service Request object to a Web Center discussion thread.
    Can WebCenter Links service meet all the 3 requirements above? Based on the WC guide shown below, it seems that Fusion Business Object (i.e. a Service Request VO) can NOT be a link "to" target for the Links Service.

    Hi,
    I have not worked with Webcenter Suite but as far as I know there is no similarity between Webcenter Suite and OSB. Webcenter Suite is a portal framework and OSB is a routing solution product. From the info you provided, I would suggest to use OSB.
    First of all identify what you need and then choose the product. Please elaborate your use case (specially the front-end part).

    You'll need configure some security pre-requisites to access Announcement in your custom application.
    The documentation:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_ann_disc.htm#CIHHICII
    When you finish this, discussions server will trust in your application to log in the users.

  • Integration of Webcenter Discussion service with ADF Application

    Hi,
    I'm in the process of integrating the Webcenter Discussion service in an ADF Application.
    I have completed the following steps.
    1. Installed JDeveloper 11g and Webcenter 11g.
    2. Configured the Discussion server which was installed along with Webcenter 11g.
    3. Integrated Discussions with ADF Application by creating a Discussion connection.
    The ADF Application is running fine. But the forums are displaying empty. In the Discussion server, I'm unable to create new users and there are no options to create forums and to create threads.
    Help me in getting the below things,
    1. Where we can create forums?
    2. What settings we need to make for new forums and where to do those settings?
    3. Are there any settings to create new users as i have only one default user 'weblogic'? When i create new users from Discussion server, I'm getting the message as 'Create users not supported'.

    Hope you are using WC_Collaborations managed server to manage all discussion forum activites.
    For you requirement ,you need to navigate the following url:
    http://<server address>:<WC_collaboration port>/owc_discussions/admin
    it will take you to jive forum admin page .where you can create new forums and new users also. For user and groups management ,visit -
    http://docs.jivesoftware.com/latest/documentation/forums-admin-guide.html#users_groups
    In your application , all users are coming from weblogic server's embedded LDAP or from external LDAP(if you configure so ). there also you can create user.
    I have a doubt ,regarding your application.
    Are you using only ADF application ,or webcenter application.
    for displaying discussion forum ,you need webcenter discussion forums taskflows in your page .
    If you use only ADF application,then you need to add all the forum corresponding libraries in your application otherwise need to consult with oracle support.

  • Webcenter page service add content api

    WebCenter has native page service api to create or modify page by programming. But I can not find the adding page content api.
    this url "http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/webcenter.1111/e10149/pages_content.htm" is about page content, but there aren't api about page content.
    how to use page content api by programming?
    Thanks a lot.

    I am unclear on the usecase to programatically use an API to create a page this way.
    Can you explain why you cannot interact with the UI to develop pages?

  • Webcenter announcement service

    Hi There,
    I have created a custom webcenter portal with announcement service (Announcement Taskflow), want to use some workflow to get approved before new Announcement published to live.
    May you please let me know if there any solution to this issue, as I am not using spaces as I am using WebCenter Custom portal ?
    Awaiting for your kind reply.
    Thanks

    OOTB Announcements do not support workflows. This is not a question of using Spaces vs. WebCenter Portal app, but mainly, because Announcements do not support "states".
    Even if you decide to customize it, it might be quite challenging. What you could try is:
    - there is a parameter Make Active on Specific Date - you'd could assign a date in a far future and then change it in a workflow to the date of approval
    - this chapter http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_announce.htm#CACIFEDB mentions security for announcements - maybe you could somehow use it
    I'd rather go a worklist as described in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e10149/content_workflow.htm#WCSUG8483
    If you really insist on Announcements, you could (auto-)create an Announcement (via calling the appropriate service) in the end of a successful worklist workflow.

  • Webcenter with Service Bus....

    Hi,
    I need to integrate external system / third party systems which are providing the data information, exposing through several options like WebServices etc and in future these integration points/systems will be more or may change.And all these systems are not available internally and are distributed systems.
    Taking this into Scenario, should I use Oracle Service Bus for connecting, mediating and managing interactions between heterogeneous services?
    Or should I use Webcenter services module of Webcenter Suite fusion middleware for Integration.
    Thanks!!

    Hi Shaeer,
    Make sure that you dont have same port numbers on both servers.
    If it then try to avoid them.
    Secondly also check nodemanager log server log to verify why it went to shutdown mode.

  • Mail service does not appear on Webcenter Portal Services page.

    Hi,
    I did the connection to the mail service. But mail service does not appear. why this happen?

    Hi,
    I found where mail taskflow is but I didn't add. because my mail server "ExternalMail" dose not appear on the mail preferences page. I have any idea why? I restarted a few times. I am sory to have wasted your times. I am not WCP specialist. But I have to do.
    Mail service connected. Test connection successful.

  • Webcenter Spaces Events Service configuration: FATAL Alert BAD CERTIFICATE

    Hello,
    I have a simple requirement to connect the events taskflow from an exchange server that is https and has a confirmed security certificate. I use the wsdl path for the events service and add it to my webcenter spaces service configuration -> Personal Events configuration.
    Then I ran into this error.
    javax.net.ssl.SSLKeyException: FATAL Alert:BAD_CERTIFICATE - A corrupt or unuseable certificate was received.
    So, I downloaded the .crt file from Chrome (in per format) and used the keytool to upload the certificate exception into the cacerts file inside jdk and jrocket folders. I restart the managed server running WebCenter Spaces. This had no effect on the error.
    Is there anything else that I should do?
    Thanks,
    Pradyumna

    I have the same problem. Did You resolve it?

    Hi,
    Open your setDomainEnv.cmd or setDomainEnv.sh (you can find these files in <Your Domain>/bin directory) and search for EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES. now you can append -Djps.auth.debug=true and -Djps.auth.debug.verbose=true to this variable like this.
    set EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES=-Ddomain.home=%DOMAIN_HOME% -Doracle.home=%ORACLE_HOME% -Djrf.version=11.1.1 -Dorg.apache.commons.logging.Log=org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Jdk14Logger -Djrockit.optfile=%ORACLE_HOME%\modules\oracle.jrf_11.1.1\jrocket_optfile.txt -Doracle.security.jps.config=%DOMAIN_HOME%\config\fmwconfig\jps-config.xml -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=oracle.mds.net.protocol -Dweblogic.alternateTypesDirectory=%ORACLE_HOME%\modules\oracle.ossoiap_11.1.1,%ORACLE_HOME%\modules\oracle.oamprovider_11.1.1 -Dsso.filter.enable=true -Djps.auth.debug=true -Djps.auth.debug.verbose=true %EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES%
    Now restart your Weblogic server, Its working fine for me.
    Please refer http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/aptrouble.htm#CIAGDHEH.
    Note:-
    Link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/devauthoriz.htm saying we should use -Djps.auth.debug.enable=true and -Djps.auth.debug.enable.verbose=true and I tried but its not working.

  • Webcenter Spaces PS2 link service question

    Hi,
    Is it possible to use the webcenter links service to link a document to another document residing in a different group space in PS2?
    For example, group space 'A'is a Knowledge Center (KB) and contains lots of docs. Group Space 'B' is a project group space, and Group Space 'B' would like to link to the knowledge base documents rather than uploading duplicate content.
    Could someone tell me how or point me to the Oracle guide containing this information.
    Many Thanks
    Kevin H
    Edited by: user941292 on 19-Jan-2011 07:27

    Kevin,
    You can achieve this using the URL link type, by linking to the remote document. You cannot "browse" the content repository to locate the link target of the other Spaces instance.

  • Databind method call returns null in WebCenter Content Filter

    Hi,
    I have inherited some code that has an issue and I'm new to WebCenter Content and the Filters that can be added. We have a FileNameFilter class that starts off with the code
    public class CWEFileNameFilter implements FilterImplementor {
        public CWEFileNameFilter() {
            super();
        public int doFilter(Workspace workspace, DataBinder dataBinder,
                            ExecutionContext executionContext) throws DataException {
            String service = dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService");
    However, service sometimes comes back null and then the filter throws a NPE.
    My questions are:
    1) Can anyone explain what dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService"); is doing and why it could come back as null
    2) Can anyone provide any links to documentation that explains Filters and a bit more about the DataBinder object as the JavaDoc isn't much help.
    Thanks
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
    Below code will give service name for which filter is implemented  from LocalData
    String service = dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService");
    for example below
    http://localhost:16200/cs/idcplg?IdcService=DOC_INFO_BY_NAME&dDocName=1111111&IsJava
    This will print entire response data including localdata and results which are created as part of service execution. Below is snippet
    <?hda version="11.1.1.8.0PSU-2015-04-01 00:14:53Z-r126309" jcharset="UTF8" encoding="utf-8"?>
    @Properties LocalData
    DocUrl=https://localhost:16200/cs/weblayout/groups/secure/documents/test/mhdk/mjg1/1111111.pdf
    IdcService=DOC_INFO_BY_NAME
    so String service = dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService"); will be service ="DOC_INFO_BY_NAME".
    Below blog will give some idea about filter but best place to learn or start is "The Definitive Guide to Stellent Content Server Development" by Brian Huff
    http://www.redstonecontentsolutions.com/technical-blog/ucm-service-handlers-and-javafilters
    Also i would recommend reading "WebCenter Content Services Reference Guide"
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e11011/toc.htm

    Regards, Suma Emani

    Do you have any space in jdeveloper workspace directory ?
    i.e C:\Document and settings like path.
    Also mention the default integrated domain's path.
    If any space is present then create a new domain and workspace without containing any space and run your application.
    Regards,
    Hoque
