Yes, it's password protected. You need to open an SR with support to be given a password so you can download the patch.
Customers are reminded that one-off Oracle Server patches are not subject to the same rigorous level of testing as done for Oracle Server patch sets. Customers are encouraged to install and test any interim patch in a test environment prior to full production implementation.

Automated packaging and deploying of WebCenter Spaces/Portal

I'm using WebCenter PS5 (11.1.1.6) and was wondering if anyone has setup package and deployment scripts for use in Continuous Integration (CI) for Webcenter Portal and Spaces using Ant. From the documents online I can see that there is limited support for this:
WebCenter Portal
You can use the 'New...' wizard to generate an ant build which will build a .war for your Portal.jpr project. What I can't find is something that will generate an .ear for the entire .jws. Is there a way to do this through ant, wlst or other without doing a 'right-click' option in JDeveloper? It looks like the .ear generation adds a bit of extra stuff like the metadata archive and so couldn't fudge it through a normal <ear> task to wrap the .war.
WebCenter Spaces
So it looks like extending spaces requires quite a few different artifacts. The first being the extend.spaces.webapp.war, which is simple enough since the DesignWebCenterSpaces\WebCenterSpacesExtensionLibrary comes with an ant to do packaging and deployment. However it still leaves question marks for all the .ear files that contain Resources. It would seem you only have 2 choices here - right click deploy from JDeveloper or export as EAR from JDeveloper and then manually install. Are there any ojdeploy tasks etc for the individual spaces resources that could package and install into spaces?
It looks like the only thing I can really properly automate at the moment is the extend.spaces.webapp.war deployment, and all the rest I will have to generate an EAR from within JDeveloper. I really want to avoid generating from JDeveloper as that means you have to check-in archives into source control which isn't good practice.
Responses on this topic are next to none so I would really appreciate an answer if anyone has tried or done this.

So I managed to find a way to build the EAR using ant/ojdeploy for the WebCenter Portal Application. See the following text section which is found in the given link:

Entirely separately to generating ADF libraries, if you wish to use the ojdeploy utility to create an EAR via the workspace, you do this by dropping the project option leaving the workspace, profile and outputfile options. If you do this under JDev 11.1.1.2.0 specifically you'll see the error message "Missing <workspace>, <project> or <profile> parameter in <deploy> element", caused by a bug in the ojdeploy utility, of which there is a patch available.
So basically just drop the <ora:parameter name="project" value="${oracle.jdeveloper.project.name}"/> line in your ant script and it will use the .jws instead to build your project.

Java, PLSQL table index

Information Architecure for UCM 11g/WebCenter PS4

Can anyone share their info architecture findings for UCM/11g and WebCenter PS4 e.g. security model, metadata model, taxonomy approach for managing group spaces. I'm keen to hear if you've put a info governance structure around the content for example - and if so - how did you form it? Where did your security model stope e.g. at Group Space level, or did you have to consider the confidential nature of documents within folders in the group space. Have you add additional metadata fields to help with search?

Wll, it's quiet easy. Webcenter is designed to handle services. UCM is also complettly service oriented so you could create a webapplication with webcenter where you define services from UCM and create your own user interface.
It's nothing more than the fact that webcenter can handle services (WSDL, SOAP).
You could create a site without siteStudio, using webcenter. Nothing wrong with that but don't forget that siteStudio has lots of tools that are great for UCM like the contributor mode. Also, the fragments that are allready build in in siteStudio give a big advantage. If you want to create these things in zebcenter, you'll have to start from scratch.
I do believe Oracle is working on an portal like interface to create portlets and stuff, perhaps they will create some tools special for the use of UCM and webcenter. This offcourse would be very nice

WebCenter PS4 and UCM 11gR1-11.1.1.4.0

About to start installing the latest version of WebCenter PS4 and want to link it to an already existing instance of UCM which is "11gR1-11.1.1.4.0-idcprod1-110927T172036 Build 7.3.0.180". Is there any particular problems anyone is aware or should this work just fine?
I don't really want to start with an older version of WebCenter if I can avoid it.

I am also facing the same issue, not sure about what url to use. And also the login webservice doesn't work while I am testing using http://localhost:81/RTC/RTCService.asmx. It always throwing the following error
" Unable to cast COM object of type 'RTCLib.RTCClientClass' to interface type 'RTCLib.IRTCClient'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{07829E45-9A34-408E-A011-BDDF13487CD1}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."
Is the current owc_lcs.zip support MS Office Communication Server 2007?

Srinath is 100% correct.
If the deployment failed, then there will very likely be some mention in the log.
You state that you checked the log, but you didn't mention whether you found an error, no error, a successful startup, etc. you are providing painfully few details to assist.
I would bet if you posted your .log and .out logs to Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002 and provided us links, We would be able to point out the error.
Lacking that information, my best advice would be to re-install and double-check you're completing all steps in the correct order.
Also, be sure to always search the product documentation first, the search this forum. For basic issues (e.g., standard installation), there is a high probability that someone else has asked that question.

Documentation for getting Webcenter PS4 to work with Exchange Server 2010.

I have a customer who has Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and wants to have their e-mail in WebCenter Spaces app we have built, using 11.1.1.4 or 11.1.1.5. Do either of these support Xchange Server 2010? Probably not, right? Well has anybody done it and been able to get it to work? Is there any documentation out there that tells how to do it?

Problem integrating BPM Process Spaces with Webcenter Spaces PS5

I have currently installed a fresh build of Webcenter 11.1.1.6 stack in a single domain which contains:
1.)     UCM
2.)     Spaces
3.)     SOA with BPM
After configuring process-portal-install.properties, I have run the ant –f install.xml command which will integrate Process Spaces into Webcenter Spaces.

Its looking that BPM was not correctly configured for some reason, exact root cause could not be pinpointed. You can try following two things:-
1. Run the following ant command and restart the Admin and managed servers
ant -f install.xml post-install -DpiArgs -importGSOnly
2. If Oracle BPM and WebCenter have been configured in different domains, configure Trusted Domain Credentials in both the Oracle BPM and WebCenter domains.

Had another thought about this... The paragraph below is from the link i posted previously...
"If a schedule expires or if the scheduling engine is unavailable at a cache expiration date, the report server runs a live report until scheduled operations can be resumed (by either extending the schedule or starting the scheduling service)."
Is it possible your schedule for caching it ended, that is, you sent and end time for the schedule? Otherwise is the scheduling service started?

WebCenter Portal Propagation URL

Can anyone tell me what the correct URL for WebCenter Portal Propagation is please?
I have created an URL connection for my WC App, and now the Propagation tab in WC admin displays. All good. That URL is set to the admin server port which I dont much like eg http://myserver:7001. Now on the destination server I run a managed server for WC Portal and that listens on port 8886.
When I run the propagation it suceeds but I can't see the propagation items anywhere on my target server.
Exactly what gets propagated? The MDS? I can't see any changes in my MDS after the supposed success.
Is my URL correct or should that be something else?
Should I target the destination managed server (which fails when I do) or is the admin port ok?

This does not make any sense and shouldn't happen...
The only "reasonable" answer I can come up with is that JDeveloper is "smart" enought to also upload the jazn-data.xml to the defined UCM connection in JDeveloper. SO, check the WebLogic identity store of your VM (where UCM is running on) to see if there is a user Tom created. If so, Jdev also uploads the jazn-data to the UCM server. If not, it could be a bug.
It's PS3 so it might that there are some bugs that are resolved. Have you got a PS4 or PS5 environment? I have a PS4 and PS5 environment where I can do a simalar test on to see if I also can reproduce this problem.

using webcenter ps3 and ucm 11g
I added document explorer in my webcenter page.
i am able to see the ucm file in explorer.
I am able to see the edit button in "Basic" section. But I do not see the Edit button in "Advanced" section. I want to edit the metadata fields and then save them.
How can I enable the Edit option for Advanced section ?

Also, what are steps in UCM so that I can enable couple of metadata fields so that they start showing up under Advanced section of document explorer so that I can edit and save them. Few fields showup (like createdate etc), others dont.

Quicklinks in Webcenter portal

I wanna implement Quicklinks
Requirements
1. Admin- Add quicklinks. All the other users should be able to see(click) the links added by the admin.
2. User1- This user should be able to see the links added by Admin and he should be able to add his own links.
3. User2- This user should be able to see only the links added by Admin and not any other user(Personalization) and shpuld be able to add his own links.
I tried to do this by using the Oracle composer component EDIT.
Steps i followed.
1. Logged in as weblogic. Clicked on EDIT button.
2. Resource catalog appears and i add "Links" component.
3. Added 2 links using "Links". Logged out
4. Logged in as user1 and i see the links added by weblogic is not displayed.
i want these links to be displayed to all the users.

Fixed "Because of Inactivity.." popup message by adding more tokens. The PS4 Webcenter portal application default value for CLIENT_STATE_MAX_TOKENS is 3, we increased to 15 that fixed the popup message.
There was another popup message "Connection to the server failed, with status = 404, 12152..., which resulted in a bug in the product. The PortletServletContextListener was throwing classcastexception and that was causing this popup message.
Once again, we have noticed these popup messages only when we tried to make our application high available.

Problem in Webcenter Portal application with High Availability changes

Jdeveloper Version: 11.1.1.5
JROCKET
MDS is pointing to IBM/DB2 database.
Weblogic Domain 10.3 with 1 cluster - 2 manage servers.
BigIP - Load Balancing
Database: IBM DB2
I am facing below issues in webcenter portal application after making high availability changes.
1. "A connection to the server has failed" Status - 12152

2. Because of Inactivity, session is timeout - ADF_FACES_30108 exception.
The above exceptions are occuring randomly in the application. It occurs either at login page or inside the application clicking on any link/button.
