Hi Jaap,
Yes, it's password protected. You need to open an SR with support to be given a password so you can download the patch.
Customers are reminded that one-off Oracle Server patches are not subject to the same rigorous level of testing as done for Oracle Server patch sets. Customers are encouraged to install and test any interim patch in a test environment prior to full production implementation.
Regards,
Frank.

    Srinath is 100% correct.
If the deployment failed, then there will very likely be some mention in the log.
You state that you checked the log, but you didn't mention whether you found an error, no error, a successful startup, etc. you are providing painfully few details to assist.
I would bet if you posted your .log and .out logs to Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002 and provided us links, We would be able to point out the error.
Lacking that information, my best advice would be to re-install and double-check you're completing all steps in the correct order.
Also, be sure to always search the product documentation first, the search this forum. For basic issues (e.g., standard installation), there is a high probability that someone else has asked that question.
    I hope that helps,

  • Automated packaging and deploying of WebCenter Spaces/Portal

    Hey,
I'm using WebCenter PS5 (11.1.1.6) and was wondering if anyone has setup package and deployment scripts for use in Continuous Integration (CI) for Webcenter Portal and Spaces using Ant. From the documents online I can see that there is limited support for this:
    WebCenter Portal
You can use the 'New...' wizard to generate an ant build which will build a .war for your Portal.jpr project. What I can't find is something that will generate an .ear for the entire .jws. Is there a way to do this through ant, wlst or other without doing a 'right-click' option in JDeveloper? It looks like the .ear generation adds a bit of extra stuff like the metadata archive and so couldn't fudge it through a normal <ear> task to wrap the .war.
    WebCenter Spaces
So it looks like extending spaces requires quite a few different artifacts. The first being the extend.spaces.webapp.war, which is simple enough since the DesignWebCenterSpaces\WebCenterSpacesExtensionLibrary comes with an ant to do packaging and deployment. However it still leaves question marks for all the .ear files that contain Resources. It would seem you only have 2 choices here - right click deploy from JDeveloper or export as EAR from JDeveloper and then manually install. Are there any ojdeploy tasks etc for the individual spaces resources that could package and install into spaces?
It looks like the only thing I can really properly automate at the moment is the extend.spaces.webapp.war deployment, and all the rest I will have to generate an EAR from within JDeveloper. I really want to avoid generating from JDeveloper as that means you have to check-in archives into source control which isn't good practice.
Responses on this topic are next to none so I would really appreciate an answer if anyone has tried or done this.
    Cheers,
    Ross

So I managed to find a way to build the EAR using ant/ojdeploy for the WebCenter Portal Application. See the following text section which is found in the given link:
    http://one-size-doesnt-fit-all.blogspot.com.au/2010/11/using-ojdeploy-and-ant-for-creating-adf.html
Entirely separately to generating ADF libraries, if you wish to use the ojdeploy utility to create an EAR via the workspace, you do this by dropping the project option leaving the workspace, profile and outputfile options. If you do this under JDev 11.1.1.2.0 specifically you'll see the error message "Missing <workspace>, <project> or <profile> parameter in <deploy> element", caused by a bug in the ojdeploy utility, of which there is a patch available.
So basically just drop the <ora:parameter name="project" value="${oracle.jdeveloper.project.name}"/> line in your ant script and it will use the .jws instead to build your project.

  • JDeveloper and ADF 11g Release 2(11.1.2.0.x) compatible WebCenter Version

We are looking to upgrade ADF to 11.1.2.0 and looking for WebCenter compatibility.
Could you please let me know WebCenter compatible version for JDeveloper and ADF 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.0.x) ?
    Thanks
    JP

    Looking at 11.1.2.0.0 note on
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/downloads/index.html
and seeing, "This version of JDeveloper doesn't include the SOA and WebCenter pieces - to use these components you'll need to download Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0."
Does that mean, 11.1.2.0.0 can't be used with WebCenter?

  • Applying the 10.2.0.4 database patchset with version-enabled tables

We recently applied the 10.2.0.4 database patchset to a database where we had a few version-enabled tables. Applying the patchset took a bit longer than expected and looking through the log, it took about 30 minutes to upgrade Workspace Manager.
    1) I know in the past that Workspace Manager patches were separate from database patches. Metalink NOTE:341353.1 "Why does the Workspace Manager version differ from the current RDBMS patchset version" seems to indicate that this is no longer the case,
    >
From patchset release V10.2.0.4 onwards, the Oracle Workspace Manager updates are integrated with the generic RDBMS patchsets.
    >
But that statement seems to be an afterthought in a document clarifying a separate behavior. Is there another document (Metalink or otherwise) that discusses this change directly?
    2) Does anyone have a good feeling for how long applying this and future patchsets should take when there are potentially large version-enabled tables in the system? I am hoping/ assuming that it is not a linear relationship, because the version-enabled tables we have at the moment are rather small. But I don't know whether the upgrade time is basically a constant or whether there is a dependency on the size of the version-enabled tables, the number of version-enabled tables, etc.
I am concerned that we may end up with very large version-enabled tables which would require substantial downtime when we apply future patchsets whether or not we needed the Workspace Manager fixes. I hope/ expect that this is not the case, but thought I would double-check.
    Justin

    Hi Justin,
#1. I could not find another document that discusses this, but I may just be missing it. I will see if there is something else, and let you know if I find something.
#2. There is a fixed and variable part of the upgrade for Workspace Manager. The fixed potion recompiles all of the packages/views, modifies metadata tables, etc used directly by Workspace Manager. The other potion is done for each version enabled table. First, the view and triggers maintained by Workspace Manager are rebuilt. This is generally a quick operation as it is not dependent on the size of the table. There is also the potential for data migration for each of the rows of the versioned table. If needed, this would take much longer to complete, but this type of migration has not been needed since about version 9.2. If you are upgrading from a version newer than this, then this part of the migration wold not be necessary.

    Ben

  • The link for latest patchset for 11.2.0.3.0 windows 64 bit

    Hi
    Platform: windows 64 bit
    Oracle database 11.2.0.3
I successfully upgraded my database from oracle 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.3.0 and the upgrade worked fine.
I installed the 11.2.0.3.0 in a new oracle home.
Now my task is to install the latest patchset release on the new oracle home(Make database upto date with latest fixes indeed).
I am confused with the available documentations in my oracle support.
As CPU is now considered as a subset of PSU patch, i believe i have to apply the latest PSU only.Is this correct?
Is there a step by step guide for applying latest patch?I saw there are 5 PSUs released (latest 11.2.0.3.5), do i need to apply each of them or just this final one?
Please give me the latest available patchset/patch(Still not clear) install guide and latest available patch download links.
Thanks a lot for all the help so far through his forum..its so useful & i am grateful to the people who do quick replies.

Thanks a lot for both the links..now I can understand which patch to apply(patch 18 is the latest -released yesterday!).I was trying to get exactly this type of document..
    Thanks Srini & Krishna

  • Integrating Active directory  with oracle EBS 12.1.3 with 11g R2 database

    Hi,
can any one let me know Integrating Active directory windows 2009 R2 with oracle EBS 12.1.3 with 11g R2 database software requirements and document ids for integrating.
Is windows 2008 active directory is cerfied with 10g OID??
    regards,
    chandrasekhar.

    Hi
    I found exact note
Is OID 10g/11g DIP Compatible / Certified With Microsoft Active Directory 2008 / Windows 2008 R1/R2? [ID 944298.1]
    From note:
DIP 10g latest version (10.1.4.3) and DIP 11g up to PS4 / 11.1.1.5 Patchset releases integrations are certified with MS AD 2008 R1 only.
DIP 11g certification with AD 2008 R2 is supported only with DIP 11g PS5 / 11.1.1.6 Patchset or higher.
Note: Although DIP below 11.1.1.6 integration (synchronization, external authentication, etc.) with MS Windows / AD 2008 R2 may work, it is not officially compatible / certified. See also Note 1076018.1.

  • Will Oracle Portal 11g ever be released ?

    Hi all,
We are just to choose Portal product from Oracle. earlier this year I read SOD about Oracle Portal 11g.
But with the WebLogic stack now, I read that OAS will never be 11g, what about Oracle Portal ? is it the same fate ?
Will it be any Oracle Portal 11g ?
What is Oracle direction for Portal ?
    Thank you very much,

Oracle Portal is on a Continue & Converge track product which means that for the next 9 years (starting from this last summer) these will be supported, the new versions will be released, and the new features, patches and updates will be provided.
this means there will be another version of Portal (and not a PatchSet) releasing soon.
however, the strategic product for Enterprise 2.0 and Portals which goes beyond 9 years of support and advancement, is Oracle WebCenter which is already available.
please listen to the podcasts or several statements of directions showing Oracle Product Strategy here.
This idea was also emphasized repeatedly in my several private conversations with Oracle Support and Product Management staff.

  • ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ktbdchk1: bad dscn], [], [], []

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this error
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ktbdchk1: bad dscn], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
    ORA-06512: at "ProcName", line 7
    ORA-06512: at line 17
    thx

Most of this type of errors (ORA-600) you need report to Oracle Support or check the metalink for released fix or possible workaround.
Anyway this error is fixed in:
    10.1.0.4 patchset
9.2.0.7 patchset (released for Windows only, for other platforms expecting soon)
    10gR2 (not released yet)

    Thanks in advance.

On Metalink about your problem you can see :
Obtain a fix for [BUG:2144889] by upgrading to RDBMS version 9.2 or applying the 9.0.1.4 patchset release. There are also one-off fixes available for version 9.0.1.3 on some platforms.

  • Spaces - to block unreleased content items from the document explorer view

I have configured Webcenter Spaces application to view the webcenter content documents over a document explorer. The problems observed are:
    1. The checked in files will be visible to a view only user even the file is under a workflow (unreleased document state in webcenter content). How to show only the released documents over document explorer?
    2. I could not find the custom metadata fields associated with a content item displayed in the document explorer columns list. It shows a finite set of pre-defined columns like filename, size, like, description etc
    Please advise.

I'm afraid that this is the OOTB behaviour.
Ad 1: the reason for that is that workflow approvals/rejections can be executed directly from the task flow. What you might try is to disable the 'workflow' feature of the task flow - see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e10149/content_prop.htm#WCSUG7365
Ad 2: I'm not aware of any configuration that defines the displayed fields. Perhaps, you could customize the task flow.

Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.2 is the Patchset released for Oracle SOA Suite 11gR1. It includes new features like SOA Composer.
It is a production ready version only else it would be mentioned as BETA or something. I haven't faced any issues with adapters there.
You can install the software, test your apps, make sure it works before adopting it.
