Do you have a valid entry in the hosts file?
I would suggest you change your hostname "sid-87f00f29add", and check then. You can either change it and start the installation all over again OR follow the steps outlined in the following notes to do that.

Post installation error "Local logical system is not defined"
Hello everyone,
I freshly installed the latest SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial from scratch and like to configure ALE.
I followed thew steps of http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/EN/data/pdf/CABFAALEQS/CABFAALEQS.pdf
(ALE Quick Start) but cannot get through the following step on page 12:
From the R/3 Implementation Guide screen in TA SALE
choose Basis
Application Link Enabling (ALE)
Modeling and Implementing Business Processes
Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Views
Clicking on Maintain Distribution Model or using TA BD87, I immedeately get the following error:
The initialization of the logical system has failed.
With TA BD64 the error: Local logical system is not defined arises. I also looked at
/people/swaroopa.vishwanath/blog/2007/01/22/ale-configuration-for-pushing-idocs-from-sap-to-xi,
/people/vikash.krishna/blog/2006/10/15/replicating-hr-master-data-part-1 and
/people/kevin.wilson2/blog/2006/11/13/ale-scenario-development-guide describing the same actions
to find an explanation, but without success
I assume, the error does not occur because the trial version does not support it, but
because of other post installation activities that must be done.
I already created two logical systems and assigned them to newly created clients 100 and 200,
but this did not have any impact on BD87 and BD64 as i was hoping.
Does somebody know what to do here?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
AndreasHi Naveed,
i made the following settings:
SCC4: new entries created
100 Sending System
200 Receiving System
SM59: new ABAP type 3 connections:
RFC_DEST_LS_100
RFC_DEST_LS_200
- Tab Logon & Security Logon user: current user (bcuser client 001)
Connection test is successful
- Technical Settings: target host: localhost
SALE: new logical systems created
LS_100
LS_200
SCC4:
double click on 100 Sending System configured with logical system LS_100
double click on 200 Receiving System configured with logical system LS_200

Hi Friends,
I Installed Oracle 11i 11.5.9 on Linux 4.0 Advanced Server. I am using the same machine for Server and client to logon to Oracle Applications, using Mozilla browser. EBS R12 Post Installation Error on Linux
Hi Everyone -
I'm trying to install R12 on Oracle Linux and I'm having trouble getting through the post-installation verification. There are two errors - JSP and AppsLogin. The message for JSP is JSP not responding..waiting 15 seconds. The message w/ AppsLogin is Appslogin not created. I am using adapcctl.sh -status to check the status of the web server and find that the HTTP server is running but three OC4J processes are down and can't be started. Any ideas??Sorry, I should have been clearer about my post.
I am not the original poster of this issue, I was just experiencing the same problem. I should have mentioned that I am running Solaris 5.8 on a 64-bit SPARC machine.
Anyway, everything is working except for the login page. something is missing from my classpath and I am not sure what. When I run

Sap Web As 6.40 SR1 post installation error
Hi, I have a problem with the installation of WEB AS ABAP.
I installed Sap Web As 6.40 SR1 following this steps:
Oracle 9.2.0 with the patch 9.2.0.4
Web As Abap.
I assigned two different names for the Oracle System ID and the Sap System ID.
All the installations finished without errors.
In the post installation if I enter in the Sap Management
Console to start the SAP instance i see the following error:
Process: strdbs.cmd
Description: Database
Status: could not be started
I try to resolve the problem following Sap note 786673 (section security: change permission
for Oracle files) but unsuccessfully.
Do you have any suggestion?Hi all,
first of all thanks a lot for your answers.
I have reinstalled the WEB AS ABAP using the same SID for the DB and for SAP (the SID is C01).
Unfortunately, I found the same error when I go to start SAP.
I checked if the oracle services are running and the check was ok, moreover I used the Oracle Enterprise Manager to check if oracle works.
Sanjeev, I tried to find the script stdbs in C:\usr\sap\C01\SYS\exe\run but without success (I can't find the file above-mentioned).
I applied also another time the SAP NOTE 786673 (section security: change permission for Oracle files) but unsuccessfully.
This is the result of the sapstart.loog
SAP-R/3-Startup Program

Do you have any suggestion to solve this strange problem??
Thanks a lot.

Webcenter sites 11g installation using HSQLDB
Want to know if its possible to use HSQLDB on Webcenter Sites 11g? I just want a lightweight DB for my development instance and dont want to go with DB2/Oracle/SQL Server. I tried with the following configs:
OS: Windows 2008 R2
App server: Tomcat 6.0.35
DB: HSQLDB 1.8.0
If someone has tried and successful then do let me know the exact steps and also any inputs will be most welcome. Thanks. You might want to give Oracle XE (www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/express-edition/overview/index.html) a try, it is for sure heavier than hsqldb which is one jar, but is free and smaller than full blown Oracle DB. I use it for most of my installs so there is less chance of running into db-specific surprise behaviour.
I have also installed CS7.6 on H2 (www.h2database.com) which is like hsqldb but smaller still.

The error logs indicate a problem with the database connection. When installing/configuring WebCenter Portal, did you provide the correct values for the database and schemas? -
