WebCenter UCM

Hello,
installed webcenter 11.1.1.5 and UCM 11g on windows 7 machine. also have UCM server running locally, have weblogic running. have also installed MDS.
I create a webcenter portal page - AboutUs and then use content presenter to drag about.htm from UCM on the AboutUs jspx at run time. the content is displayed. i go to ctrl shift c contribution mode and then at runtime try change the content and then save close.
Next time when I rerun this page, we lose runtime customizations when we rerun the portal. why ?
shouldnt my first time customization get saved in MDS, so that even next time I rerun the page, I get to see the modified content (in other words the content shoule not disapper ) ???
anyways, what to do that content along with changes made in previous run will show up even after second rerun ??

this link is applicable when i created am playing with embedded weblogic/webcenter of Jdeveloper (which is file based).
BUT I am having a full blown standalone weblogic running and also full blown standalone webcenter running. I am deploying application on these standalone servers. now how do i preserve the customizations on rerun on these standalones ? I have MDS setup in database.

• What's the WebCenter/UCM answer to the following scenario?

Hi,
I'm a newbie on Oracle WebCenter & UCM.
I'm facing with a web application that includes content management functionality.
The scenario: there're backend users that performs datasheets (for electronic components) data entry (editorial staff) and frontend users that performs searches on datasheets.
It exists a minimal document workflow: document created -> document updated -> document validated -> document published
It follows some flow details:
1. backend users fills in a web form (the document) made by a dinamically variable number of input fields (some of them are metadata...I'll base searches on them also, some others are references to pdf files to be stored in UCM)
2. the submitted data are processed by Oracle tools in some way
3. the submitted data are then presented in html (web interface), optionally containing links to pdf documents submitted by backend users in step 1.
My question is: what's the best Oracle approach to this scenario? I've to use a customized solution?...or there're some Oracle WebCenter/UCM components/features I can benefit of?
I known I've to read all docs :) ...but some input may help me in focusing on.
Any helps will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

• Webcenter&UCM Integration

Hi,
In my webcenter application, I have used Data control for Content Repository integration. When i click the URI, the document is opening in a browser & the Document URL is shown in the browser, when i remove the file name and click the enter in the browser i am able to see the UCM folder structure. Is it possible to mask the document url?

I don't think this is realy possible because UCM will check the security settings and show the documents that are available for the current user.
Maybe you can ask the ECM forum. Maybe they know of some technique on how to disable to folder browsing.

• Integrating Adobe CQ5 with Oracle WebCenter/UCM and OIM

Hello, I'm looking for strategies to integrate CQ5 and Webcenter for following areas:
1. Where CQ5 can act as page aggregator and portlets implemented on WebCenter side can be integrated on webpage which resides on CQ5. How the session information from WebCenter can be propagated and maintained in CQ5 side as well?
2. Integrate CQ5 with OIM for security and authentication purpose.
3. Integrate DAM and Oracle UCM for Assests access across DAM and UCM.
Any pointers in this direction would be helpful.
Thanks

• Webcenter + UCM 11g

Hi people,
Someone knows tell me with I need to some configuration at UCM 11g to use this with Oracle Webcenter 11g R3?
Thanks

The only thing you really need to do different than the 10gr3 UCM configuration is add "IntradocServerPort=4444" to the config.cfg ion UCM 11g. This config is not there by default in 11g but adding it allows the content server to listen on that port just like it always has.

Is it possible to configure UCM, WCenter for this case ?
Or I must resolve it programatically.

• Oracle WebCenter Installation on Apple Mac OS X 10.6.6

Could anyone tried to install Oracle WebCenter 11G PS3 on Apple Mac OS X (version 10.6.6) 64bit machine? I downloaded Oracle RCU (11.1.1.5.0) utility for linux (file name: ofm_rcu_linux_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of1.zip) and tried to run rcu as follows after unzipping it:-
cd RCU_HOME/bin
./rcu
but i got following error:
Current Platform is not supported.
Supported Platforms are : Linux and Windows.
Can anyone do let me know what is the issue?

It depends on what you want to do... If you just want to mess around with WebCenter, download the prebuild VM.
If you want o do some serious development than you should install your own WebCenter VM. Use Oracle Linux and install webcenter/ucm on it. It's just a few hours work. It probably goes faster than when you need to download the prebuild VM :)

I've just installed UCM 11g on a 64bit Windows 7. During installation I had some issues concerning the user rights, but now almost everything works fine.
Except of two issues:
1. when starting the UCM (startManagedWebLogic.cmd) I get the following exception:

As UCM is not certified for Windows 7 I'm not sure if this is a configuration issue or a generel problem with Windows 7.
Has anyone got this installation run on Windows 7 (64bit)?
bye Stephan...

Assuming that you want to install the 64 bit UCM 11g version:
Issue with installer closing screen could be related with JAVA_HOME variable or wrong java version.
1. Check if 64 bit JDK (not JRE) is installed in a directory without spaces (not default Program Files… but something like C:\Java\).
2. Check if windows environment variable JAVA_HOME exists and is pointing to JDK directory (like C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_24)
3. Open command prompt and check java version with: java –version. It should return “Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server”.

• Using the CMIS standard with Webcenter

Hi,
I'm currently doing a research on how the CMIS standard can be used with Webcenter/UCM.
There is very little information available about this topic.
This link has given me already some information: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/doc.1111/e15813/toc.htm
I've setup a VM with Webcenter 11g PS2.
Using CMIS REST calls I'm already getting some replies, for example: http://localhost:7001/cmisrestprelim/cmis/objectbyid?id=/MyContentServer/
The next step is to try and get content out of the repository using CMIS REST calls, but I'm getting some internal server errors.
Can anyone help me in providing URL's on how getting content out of the UCM repository using CMIS REST ?
Who's already using/working with CMIS REST in combination with Webcenter ?
Thanks in advance.

• BPM 11.1.1.7 Document Storage Bug

Hello,
I've installed SOA and BPM 11.1.1.7.
I am working on the OnBoarding process from https://java.net/projects/oraclebpmsuite11g/pages/Demos.
It works fine until I enable the UCM Document package: I check the "Use document package", in the Document tab of the Human Task (in JDev), as described in the Oracle Doc.
I rebuild the application and redeploy it.
Then, when I try to attach a document in the BPM Workspace, I get the same "Add attachment" window as before the change, and when I click to add a desktop file I get the error:
JBO-25058: Definition storageType of type Attribute is not found in ViewDefattachmentType74_276.
Would you have already encountered such a bug and how to fix it?
SOA was installed on the same server as UCM 11.1.1.7 and the UCM domain was extended with the SOA and BPM domain.
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.7+SOA/BPM plugin 11.1.1.7.0.0.8
Thanks in advance for your clues,
Vince

Hi! It's not a bug....I guess. The problem is in ADF form from older version SOA Suite in what OnBoarding process was created. To fix this just recreate UIs apps in HumanWorkflow configure page in JDev (use automatic). Then configure UCM: Webcenter UCM Integration PS5 | James Smith's Blogs

• Content Repository to JSPX

Hi all,
we have webcenter, UCM and JSPX pages. content in UCM is plain text and xml
we created connection to UCM. How do we plug the incoming UCM content in Jspx (*we are not typing the content in jspx*)? we put it under af:document tag or af:form ? more over how would this happen dynamically - Like content coming out of UCM goes to correct location in Jspx so that when we run page content shows up correctly in browser ?
thx
dd
P.S sometimes content is XML

Hi,
Your MDS store by default when running from Jdeveloper is file based. When deploying to WebLogic App Server the MDS store is DB based.
You can create and register MDS stores using Enterprise Manager. Refre this link for details: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_deploy.htm#BABBACEF
Also if you are deploying the application directly from JDeveloper it prompts you for MDS connection and partition. You are building an EAR and manually deplying hence the step was skipped.

• Document Manager Disabled for Group space

I am using 11g, I have installed webcenter and ucm in webcenter. Users login to webcenter using jazn xml. Users are able to create personal documents in UCM and the same is displayed properly in the Personal space when logged in webcenter.
But in Group space , the document manager is disabled. and the following message is displayed
"Contact the administrator to ensure that the configuration is correct and that the directory exists and is accessible"
I login to the Content Manager Server and see the Spaces ( this is the root folder mentioned in the webcenter UCM configuration in the Enterprise Manager) folder has been created.
Any help on enabling the Document Manager in a group space would be appreciated.
Thanks
Venkat

For specific group space , there is an id for it.
you will find this id for a particular space when you go to administration page and select groupspaces and then right click actions (about the spaces ).
Next step :
Go to jdeveloper.probably you are using extendedspaceswar.
There you have to created a packege(java package) . Name of package will be same as group id. The location of the java package will be at customResourcecatalog->application sources->custom.oracle.adf->rc->metadata->scopedMD->
(your package) . Under this package create Groupspacecatalog.xml file.
In groupspacecatlog mention the document services taskflow .
<resource id="doclib-document-library"
name="Document Service Taskflow"
repository="application.classpath"
path="doclib-service-view.jar/ADF_TaskFlow/oracle+webcenter+doclib+view+jsf+taskflows+mainView.xml#doclib-document-library"/>
In that way you will find the document services availabe in your spaces.
N.B:Apart from this, you need to ensure that document services are selected for this groupspaces.

• Redeploy BPM Biz Ops?

Hi, is anyone dynamically redeploying code (EJB or otherwise) that implements BPM
business operations without restarting the WLI server? I'm getting a worrisome
stack trace the way that I did it (even though it seems to work, so far):
As far as I could tell, code (even if it's an EJB) that gets called by BPM has
to be in the BPM application, and that application won't reload unless it's an
EAR in the config/domain/applications directory, so I took all of the WLPI jars
and put them in an EAR with my EJB jars. This all works great until I recompile,
at which point weblogic tries to restart the app and generates a huge pile of
exceptions that look like the one pasted below. I'm guessing this is because there
are existing instances of classes that don't like the newly-loaded classes (even
though they're identical). Is that right? Is it harmless? What is the right
way to do redeploy business operations?
