Webclient UI - every user twice in transaction SM04

Hi,
for the users working with CRM Webclient UI we see two entries in tx SM04 from type Plugin HTTP.
Why are there two entries for each user but the user has only one session open?

Hi Arun,
the strange thing is that this "double entry" in SM04 is the case for every user and we are more than 100 users logged in to our productive CRM system. I can´t imagine that every user is using the transaction launcher or something else at the same time.
How is this in your productive system. Every user only one entry in SM04?
It is not realy an issue but i´m just interessted why this is the case?

User login to SAP may be possible with either GUI or RFC. GUI implies to direct logon to SAP though the SAP GUI. This is characterised by the user name.
The other way is RFC which implies to remote access to the system. This is usually characterised by IP address or the domain address .

hai all,
i want to know the data displayed in transaction SM04 is taken from which tables?Like the list of table(s) from which data about no. of users logged in on a server, the transaction codes being used on each terminal etc.

I don't think that info is stored in a dB table.. it is only available at runtime.. ( being used currently...)

SAP R/3 : Indirect Role assignments - Is position unique to every user?

While am exploring /learning SAP R/3 roles and auth, I would appreciate if I could get clarity on the following :

So if my understanding is correct, it is better to assign roles - indirectly by position, so that if an employee's position changes, his role can be removed, based on position again ??? And somewhere we are linking with infotype 105.
My only doubt is : if we are going to assign roles by position and remove the roles by position, so that as the position of an employee changes, the previous roles become null and void and new roles can be assigned as per new position.
So would like to know :
as to whether this position number which we see from PA20, is unique to every user on the system ?
So that, if there is a need to remove a role based on postion, we could remove the role from PO13;
BY doing that, then will it not affect other users ?
Can somebody help me understand this.
Because if i want to see the effect immediately, if i go to PFUD and put the role name and say execute, i see that the role which was removed from PO13 is gone immediately from the user.

Can you please help me understand this.
I understand from HR person that position is uniquely defined (from hire to retire)
and roles are generally given based on position.
However, I see a person : whose roles have been assigned as per position all these years.
He had 2 roles in project A. He now moved into a different project B.
But. when i check, i still see the roles - reflecting on SU01 & well as in the tab of user of the role X under pfcg.
BUT when i check PO13 - and put the position / relationship and say overview.
I dont see the roles at all there.
Why this is so. Why the discrepancy on different screens.
Also How can I get a confirmation that - these roles are actually removed and is not there for the user.
Rather.
How could the removal of roles based on position become completely effective on the system.
So that all screens display the same information.
Also would like to know - whether it is ok to remove the role expiry date directly from PFCG/ROLE Display/user tab/select user/
and then make the role invalid or expired / or extend the expiry.

Is there a way I can share all of the files on my computer to where every user on one computer can access files from one user to another? All help is appreicated!

That is so contrary to the way of OS X that I seriously doubt it.
I would suggest that you just create a single user account and let everyone log into that single account.

How to create an default profile for every user on one machine? Deployment of configurations?

On firefox 3.5.X i can copy an configured profile from an user-folder to the programm folder of firefox. \mozilla firefox\defaults\profiles.
After an new user log in to the machine the default profile will get the actual profile of the new user. With all bookmarks, configurations and so on.
But this doesn't work with the firefox 3.6.10? What changed? What will be the way i can get an default configuration for every user on one machine? I want to deploy the firefox with an default configuration in our enterprise? Why does the behaviour change?

There are the standard first start behavior.

Allow every user to create subfolders

Hello everybody,
after some changes in our internal role system I need your help.
In BEX there you can go to
open query or open workbook.
Then hit the button "Roles"
There we can see the menu with all visible folders.
How can I allow every user to create subfolders within the folders he is already allowed to see?
As I activate a certain role even I (administrator) gets a greyed out view.
Is there a way that users can create new folders in a convenient way?

I think the DNSAdmins group will give them too much control over the server (change forwarders, etc..).

Create Variant using SHD0 and with Group and assign to particular user's
Here is the steps
Creating a Variant Group
1. Open transaction SHD0, enter the transaction code, and press enter.
2. Choose the Standard Variants tab page, and then the sub tab page Variant Groups, and enter a group name, such as GROUP_GEN
3. Choose Create. Enter a short text on the Maintain Variant Group window that appears and save the variant group.
Assigning Users
Once you have created the variant group and the relevant transaction variants with screen variants, you now need to assign users to the variant group as follows
1. Return to the Standard Variants tab page, Variant Groups sub tab page.
2. Enter the name of a user that you want to assign to this variant group, and choose Assign. A message that this user was successfully assigned to the variant group appears in the status bar. If you choose a where-used list for users, this user is displayed in the user list.
3. However, for the screen variants of the variant group that you created above to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal. The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.
You can use this procedure of user assignment for all other users that you want to add to the variant group

User Exit for Transaction V/76

I'm looking for user exit for transaction V/76, Basically I just need to add an additional checking for the value entered in the product hierarchy using a check table (custom table) functionality. However I can't see any user exit that can be used since this is a view maintenance table/transaction. Can anyone of you experts can confirm that there is user exit for this transaction? Setting up MPD for every user on the machine

I'm having a few problems setting up MPD. What I want to do is configure MPD such that it starts automatically at login using the current user config file (so that it uses the correct db) and stops playing and exit (to free port 6600) on logout. This way when a different user logs in MPD will use the correct database and playlists dir.
So far I've created all the needed files (.mpd/{.conf,.pid,etc}) in the home dirs of every user and followed this (MPD/Autostart with systemd/Current Setup) then I followed these steps for user1 (created the needed files in user1's home) Using systemd to manage your session (Should I repeat them for user2?). I'm using this service for mpd:

ExecStart=/usr/bin/mpd %h/.config/mpd/mpd.conf --no-daemon
ExecStop= /usr/bin/mpd %h/.config/mpd/mpd.conf --kill #I expected this to stop mpd on logout

The problem is that when I log out the music keeps playing which means mpd is still running. If I log in as user2 I can see users1 database (using ncmpc) but I can't control the playback e.g:If I want to skip the current track it stops playing.
Any ideas?

That will stop mpd when the service is stopped, which will happen when the user instance of systemd exits. So logout should do `systemctl --user exit`. (This might be mentioned on the wiki, but that systemd/user page is a big mess.)
