Webconsole - menu only for root

Hi,
I can only log into my webconsole with root. If I use another user the webconsole permits to log in but no applications (ZFS, Sun Cluster, ...) are available.

Some applications only allow you to administer if you log in as root. It all depends on the application itself. Check the document of the ones you feel you can log in as a non-root user.

  • Applications only for root are displayed even with user login

    I am using MBP Pro with OSx 10.7.3. I use admin account. Recently I enabled root account and then disabled it back again. Since then I am seeing applications only for root and not for admin even with admin login. If I go to /Users/<admin username>/Library/Preferences, I can see that the applications has relevant files over there. When I looked more carefully I observed that, I am able to see the applications installed for the root only and not for the admin user. Is there any way to corrrect this?

  • Android and mtp - only for root

    I''m trying to access my Android tablet via usb cable. I read the wiki page on mtp and I tried mtpfs, go-mtpfs and simple-mtpfs.
    Each time I have the same problem, it doesn't work as user, only as root. As user mtp-detect doesn't find anything. As root simple-mtpfs works ok.
    I uncommented user_allow_other in /etc/fuse.conf and added myself in fuse group (that didn't exist) as archwiki suggested.
    Any idea what's the problem?
    Thanks!

    FWIW, if you are trying to transfer files between your android device and computer, I have found that using some kind of network file service on your computer works great.  So I have a file server that runs a samba service (for my family), ssh/sftp (for me), and nfs4 (also for me).  Unfortunately, I have not found a decent nfs application for android.  But using either samba/smb or sftp seems to work great over my LAN.  Then it can all be handles wirelessly as well.
    I have noticed that there are quite a few file manager applications for android that also include clients for sftp, ftp, smb, and some of the online syncing services (like dropbox).  So I use my file manager application, which I think is called Solid File Manager.  Of course, you could also use bittorrent sync to handle this as well, though on my device it seems to eat away at the battery rather quickly.

  • Is forceUpdateToVersionField only for Root UoW?

    Dear all,
    We would like force update to the version field when it's privately owned object get changes. It is our developed function.
    public static void addOrUpdateObject(Session session, Object obj) {
         session.removeFromIdentityMap(obj);
         Object objFromDB = getObjectByOid(session, obj); // read the object from database.
         UnitOfWork uow = session.acquireUnitOfWork();
         uow.registerObject(objFromDB); // register the object retreived from DB.
         // merge the changes from pObj.
         Object pObjClone = uow.mergeCloneWithReferences(obj);
         // force to update version field only when pObj has been changed.
         uow.forceUpdateToVersionField(pObjClone,uow.hasChanges());
         uow.commit();
    And we want to extend the function for multiple object as following.
    public static void addOrUpdateObject(Session session, List objList) {
         List objListFromDB = new ArrayList();
         for (int i=0; i<objList.size(); i++) {
              Object obj = objList.get(i);
              session.removeFromIdentityMap(obj);
              objListFromDB.add(getObjectByOid(session, obj.getClass(), obj.getOid()));
         UnitOfWork uow = session.acquireUnitOfWork(); // acquire the unit of work.
         for (int i=0; i<objList.size(); i++){
              UnitOfWork subUoW = uow.acquireUnitOfWork();
              subUoW.registerObject(objListFromDB.get(i)); // register the object retreived from DB.
              // merge the changes from obj.
              Object objClone = subUoW.mergeCloneWithReferences(objList.get(i));
              // force to update version field only when obj has been changed.
              uow.forceUpdateToVersionField(objClone,subUoW.getChanges().hasChanges());
              subUoW.commit();
         uow.commit();
    However, we found the verion field is not updated. Is it because we only can apply forceUpdateToVersionField() to only root UoW?
    Thanks and regards,
    William

    First I would recommend against removing objects from the identity map (cache) as this will result in objects in memory not referencing the correct instances of objects. If it is an absolute requirement then be sure you are removing the entire object tree that that object is a member of.
    Currently the forceUpdateToVersionField is only available on the root UnitOfWork. I have entered a change request to have this functionality moved to nested UnitOfWorks as well.

  • Adding list based menu only once for all related pages

    Hi,
    I have a one level tab application. For a given tab I have 5 different pages. I would like let the end user navigate to these pages via a list region. Currently I have added to all five pages a list region and assigned the same list item to these list regions.
    Is it possible that I add this list based menu only once to my application or this is the normal way of doing it?
    Is there a way to let
    Regards,

    Use page zero.
    Add regions containing the lists for each tab to the same region display point on page zero, making each region conditional using a "Current Page Is Contained Within Expression 1..." condition.

  • "Always Open In..." View Options for Root Level of a Disk Image File

    I ran into a problem/bug tonight that I can't find listed anywhere and was wondering if anyone else has encountered it. I am using Snow Leopard (now 10.6.1), upgraded from the last revision of Leopard.
    I create DVD-R sized disk images with Disk Utility (using "Mac OS Extended" only w/o Journaling) for saving downloaded files. Because of the number of files on this disk, I create single-letter folders (for alphabetical filing) and set up these disk images to "Always Open In List View". For the individual folders, I can set these to "Always Open In List View" without a problem. However, for the "root level" of these disk images, I can only access "Always Open In Icon View" no matter which view option is selected.
    For previously created disk images that were already set to "Always Open In List View", these show the previously set "List View" at the disk image "root level" as expected. But if I uncheck the box, it immediately goes to "Always Open In Icon View". And like before, no matter which view option is selected, I can never get back to "Always Open In List View". Note also that I can set this option as expected for "root levels" of real disks - this only seems to be a problem with the disk image files.
    I had no problems at all with this under Tiger or Leopard. I've only run into this now under Snow Leopard. The upgrade tonight to 10.6.1 hasn't seem to affect this problem.
    So should I be doing something differently now to get this option to reappear, a possible conflict with something on my computer or is this a bug with Snow Leopard? Can anyone else duplicate this issue?

    Additional info, in case anyone is running into this issue...
    If I do the following with the "root level" of the disk image, I can set the "Always Open in List View" option.
    1. Open the "root level" view of the disk image - for me, it always opens in icon view. Then, select "Show View Options" from the View menu.
    2. Check the "Always Open in Icon View" box. While leaving this dialog open, select "as List" from the View menu.
    3. Uncheck the "Always Open in Icon View" box. It will instantly turn into "Always Open In List View". Recheck this box immediately, then close dialog. This will make the setting stick.
    I've been able to repeat this situation several times. I might be wrong, but it sure acts like a small bug to me. Hope this helps anyone else who might have encountered this issue.

  • [SOLVED] LXDE menu blank unless root?

    I'm new to Arch Linux and have been setting it up for my netbook and have run into a problem. I have installed LXDE but when i run it as a non-root user the menu is blank showing only "Run" and "Logout", as root everything is there. When i logout there are a few errors in the terminal (cannot load netstat plugin, unable to find a valid menu file and some dbus stuff) but these same messages come up regardless of whether im root or the normal user so they dont explain why the menu isnt working. The openbox menu.xml file is the same for both root and my user account. I haven't had any luck looking for a solution on the forums, wiki or google.

    Did you do this:
    mkdir -p ~/.config/openbox
    cp /etc/xdg/openbox/menu.xml /etc/xdg/openbox/rc.xml /etc/xdg/openbox/autostart ~/.config/openbox
    What is in your "~/.config/openbox" folder?  Perhaps you are using a system-wide configuration instead of a user-configuration if you didn't copy those skeleton files?
    I'll try to help but I don't have much experience with LXDE, I'll take a moment to do a shameless plug for Xfce4 which I'm competent enough with that it's not broken... Yet...
    Yeah i did do that. In root i only have lxde-rc.xml, but as my user it has autostart, environment, lxde-rc.xml, menu.xml, rx.cml. Autostart, environment and menu.xml are green too?
    swanson wrote:Your own app/system menu in lxpanel, thats the one, not openbox menu ? If that's the case then the menu config should be in /home/"user"/.config/lxpanel. You might have to rebuild the menu cache for lxpanel menu; rm all in .cache/menus - restart lxpanel.
    That would make sense, i dont have any config files there a root or user though - so once again i can't understand why it's working normally as root. I've already removed the menu caches stuff once before and it didn't change anything when i ran lxde again.

  • [CC] How to perform a script "foo_beforeSave.htm" only for specific site?

    Since a long time I use a script for automatic text replacements which perform with each save command.
    The script sits in that folder:
    C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC\de_DE\Configuration\Commands\foo_beforeSave.htm
    It works for all documents of all sites.
    The source code (the regex rule is just an example) of the script you find below.
    My question:
    I like to perform a script like this only for a specific site.
    I'm not a programmer. So I don't know where to place the script to reach that target. Or how I have to edit the source code of the script.
    Is there anybody who could help me with that please?
    I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks

  • How to change the background color only for one HTML-Portlet?

    Hi all,
    I have created a HTML-Portlet in my root-page. The root page have a style: Main-Style.
    I want to change the background-color only for this one HTML-Portlet:
    <html>
    <header><title>Test</title></header>
    <body bgcolor="#999999">
    Test
    </body>
    </html>
    But this does not work...
    When I use the CSS, then it will change the background-color for the root-page too.

    could you try this
    <table bgcolor="#999999">
    <tr>
    <td>
    test
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    I don't think you need <html><header><title>Test</title></header>
    <body></body></html> for your HTML-Portlet.

  • Getting Menu Reference for a VI other than the current one

    Is there any way to get a Menu reference for a VI that isn't the current VI? There's Current VI's Menubar, but that only works on the current VI. I'd like something that does the same thing, but accepts a VI reference to a higher-level VI. I would expect to find a Property Node entry for it, but there doesn't seem to be one. This is for 8.2.

    A functional global is what I wound up using. It just seems odd to me that there's no other way to get access to that reference.
    It also seems counter-intuitive to me that a Shortcut Menu reference is only valid inside that particular frame of the Event Structure that caught it. If you're using a producer-consumer architecture, you can not send that refnum off to the consumer loop for handling; it can only used within that frame of the Event Structure.
    I am not sure what you mean. The refnum seems to be accessible from everywhere .
    As i wrote above:
    You can store the Menu Reference to a global variable for example, and you can read it, in any vi you want, just like all variables.
    Note: Do not try to use a property note. Use the menu functions

  • Howto make created folders/ files from one teacher, read only for other teachers?

    Hello there,
    as an admin @ school I was wondering how to make created folders/ files from one teacher, read only for other teachers?
     - In a 2008domain, created a group "teachers"
     - created a folder "teacher data" where all teachers have read/write permissions
    ideal,a teacher who make's a folder in "teacher data" should be the only oen who is able to add file's to that folder and dele that folder or files. Other teachers may be able to read the content of the folder.
    Is this possible to set up and how?
    many thanks.
    Nico.

    Hi Nico,
    You could set the permissions below to resolve the issue:
    For the root folder "teacher data": give the full control permission to CREATOR OWNER – "Subfolders and files only" and give the read/write permissions to the group "teachers"– "This folder only".
    Best Regards,
