WebDAV File message constantly popping up

About every 3-5 minutes-twice in a row, if I hit cancel the first time- a message that says "webDAV File System Authentication" pops up and wants me to type in my username and password to access the server @URL http://idisk.mac.com in the realm idisk.mac.com (the username is already in the box). I don't know what this means and when I do type in my password, it responds telling me it's not the right username or password. Please help, it is driving me nuts!

Take a look through this thread to see if anything here helps:

How can I fix this? I don't understand what this is our how to fix it.

One common problem seems to correlate with non-Apple extensions, possibly loaded long ago and migrated from an older Mac OS X.
Linc Davis suggests this as a way to find those non-Apple extensions:
Please copy or drag -- *don't type* -- the following command into a Terminal window, press Return, and post the output (if any):
    kextstat -kl | awk ' !/apple/ { print $6 } '

I'm trying to finalize/share to Media Browser a 20 minute still slide show with music and text. I'd like to finalize it 1080 hd and have tried several times, but just before it's finished, a message box pops up saying it can't be done because "File already open with with write permission."  What does this mean?  All files are closed; this iMovie project is the only thing open.  Does it mean one of the song files from iTunes? And should I just settle for saving it as a "large" file, which is what I'm trying right now?

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Jack
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.

              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.

  • When I am using Premiere elements 13 I get a message that pops up "that there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive", this also happened 3 months ago How can I get rid of this again?

When I am using Premiere Elements 13 I get a message that pops up "There is no disk in the drive" I click on it and it keeps coming back "very annoying", but about three months ago it happened to me and I was told to change the file name from OldFilm.AEX  to OldFilm.AEXold. Well now the file is back in Folder OldFilm.AEX. Here is a screen shot the files are highlighted. What should I do now to correct this once and for all, or can I? Thank you for your time.

    TomWolves
I would do another rename to disable or just delete all the OldFilm.AEX and OldFilm.AEXOLD in that NewBlue Folder.
If you do, please let me know if that OldFilm.AEX regenerates itself the next time you open Premiere Elements 13.
Here is the strange story...at least from my Premiere Elements 13 Windows perspective...never had the No Disc error issue
Here are some details to sort through trying to figure out why you have 2 OldFilm.AEX file in the NewBlue Folder.
    1. The original OldFilm.AEX file of Premiere Elements 13 has the date of 9/4/2014 (just before the version was released on 9/24/2014).
After the 13.1 update is done (whenever date), that OldFilm.AEX file has the date of 1/31/2015. I first saw notification of the 13.1 Update
    release early in February 2015.
    2. Now in Premiere Elements 13.1, if I take my OldFilm.AEX (date 1/31/2015) and disable it by renaming it to OldFilm.AEXOLD, close out of there, and reopen
the program, the OldFilm.AEX is not seen to regenerate. The OldFilm.AEXOLD remains there as its lone self.
    3. So, I am thinking that your OldFilm.AEXOLD in the screenshoot is "original equipment" that you disabled to get rid of No disc error.
Why the OldFilm.AEX is there also is not clear, but the dating on it suggests that it came along with the 13.1 Update.
Bottom line: let us try the deletion or disabling one more time and see what happens.
Looking forward to further reports on your findings, as your time permits.
    Thanks.

  • "Error in creating error file" message

Tried to install Palm Desktop 6.2 that came with my new Centro and at the end the message "Error in creating error file" keeps popping up numerous times.
    What can be the reason?
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

I was also experiencing the "error in creating error file" message multiple times during installation on my XP Pro system. I googled the error message and found this post plus a reference to a problem with riched32.dll) in in another post. But that didn't help. After quite a bit of troubleshooting on my own, I found the problem. I had moved the "My Documents" folder under "D:\users" to simplify my backups. Apparently the Palm installer needs the "My Documents" folder on the C: drive. I temporarily put "My Documents" back into it's default location under "C:\Documents and Settings" and the Palm installer ran just fine with no error message. I then moved everything back under "D:\users" including the folder "Palm OS Desktop", that was created by the Palm installer and everything has been working fine since.
Thought I'd share this with others, as it's not an obvious fix.

  • How to stop an error message that pops up every time I open Safari. It reads...Safari 5.1 (v6534.50) has not been tested with the plugin PithHelmet .As a precaution, it has not been loaded. Please contact the plugin developer.

How do I stop this error message from popping up every time I start up Safari ?
    Error message reads...
Safari 5.1 (v6534.50) has not been tested with the plugin Pithhelmet 3.0b6 (v 3006)
As a precaution, it has not been loaded. Please contact the plugin developer.
I have removed every trace of Pithhelmet, (via spotlight)
Trashed the preferences for Safari, restarted computer to no avail.
    It just  keeps keepin on.
    Thanks

In the past I was able to bypass the message by editing the Info.plist file and updating the MaxBundleVersion variable, but not so this time around. As of today the developer seems to indicate there's no immediate fix becuase of how Safari 5.1 handles multiprocess page rendering. Probably best to stay tuned to Mike's website for now.

  • How to disable the message that pops up every time i connect my iphone "photos in the camera roll of iphone cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode"?

Wrongly posted in iPhoto forum, should probably be posted here instead.
I want to remove the message that pops up every time i connect my IPhone that says: "Photos in the Camera Roll of "Name" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.".
This computer is not one that I want to import photos to (or sync with the iPhone), so this message is just very annoying, and it pops up all the time. I cannot find a way to disable this message. It is constantly appearing. No application is launching, I have turned off the iPhoto launch in the Image Capture app as well as in iPhoto. Thanks in advance if anyone has any information about this.

Because your computer sees your phone, as it would see any digital camera, as long as you have photos in your camera role. Since you state you don't sync with this computer & have a passcode on your phone, that's why you get that message. The only way to prevent that message is either start syncing with this computer; remove the photos from your camera roll prior to connecting; or first turn off your passcode before you connect. Either that, or you live with it.
You shouldn't be storing photos in your camera roll anyway. iPhone camera roll is not designed for photo storage. You should be regularly importing them.

  • Message keeps popping up PLEASE HELP!!

Hi, I tried to send a message with a pdf attached and the file was too big to send. Now a message keeps popping up that says:
""Some actions taken while the account “Gmail” was offline could not be completed online.
Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox “On My Mac” in “On My Mac” so that you can complete the actions while online.
Additional information: The IMAP command “APPEND” (to Sent Messages) failed with server error: Could not parse command.""
All the messages are being put in my sent folder and are marked as unread. I've given up deleting them as they keep coming. The message pops up about every minute or so. Im lost on what to do about this. I've tried quitting mail, restarting my computer but they keep coming. Also, when I try to shut down my computer or log out it wont unless I force quit mail.
    PLEASE HELP!!

I was having the same problem, and found this on a related thread. It worked for me.
    1. Quit Apple Mail. It cannot be running for this procedure.
    2. Click the Finder icon in your Dock. This will open a new file browser window.
    3. Go to the Library folder.
    4. Go to the Mail folder.
    5. Find the folder named [email protected] [email protected] should be the email address that you are having problems with.
    6. Move this folder to another location on your hard drive. Do not delete this folder in case there is a problem and you need to restore it.
    7. Open Apple Mail and it will now re-download all email from the IMAP server and rebuild your IMAP cache. This can take a while depending on how much mail is in your account.
This means that the problem was likely not with Gmail, but probably with the IMAP cache.

  • IDisk WebDAV error message - how do I get rid of this?

Years ago, I used to have an iDisk account. The iDisk link is still on my desktop. Starting 2 days ago, I keep getting this error:
    "WebDAV File System Authentification
Enter your user name and password to access the server at the URL "http://idisk.mac.com/kristinamc_tda/" in the realm "idisk.mac.com."
My only options are to cancel and save. I press cancel and the message comes right back, so I cancel again and it stays gone for about 20-30 minutes. I have no idea how to get rid of this or why it started doing this. Since the account doesn't technically exist, I'm thinking that the password will never be correct - I've tried entering what I thought was the password, but it never accepts it. I have tried to see if removing the iDisk link on my desktop would make it stop, but I cannot get rid of it. I am trying to write a paper and this annoying error is about to make me freak out. Does anyone have any idea what I should do to fix this?
    Kristina

You may also want to open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities and delete any referrence to the earlier name.
I would send yourself an Email with the info in to keep a permanent record in case you ever decide to activate that name again.
A lapsed @mac.com name can be used in iChat for free so you may not want to go this far.

  • Calendar Group Message keeps popping up

I just started seeing a random message that pops up on my screen.  It says:
    "Calendar: Share with Group? Yes/No"
It pops up even when I am not in my Calendar and even when I say no, it takes a minute before the message goes away.  It is extremely annoying!
How can I permanently get rid of this message so it does not ask me again?

  • Ical message alarm pops up randomly

Out of the blue, the iCal message alarm constantly pops up randomly with no message. It doesn't show an event but instead it's blank so it's not reminding me of anything I have. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this?
    Thanks.

There was something similar to this recently. It turned out that the problem was caused by setting an alarm on a ToDo, then having a change of mind and unchecking the due date on the ToDo without first removing the alarm. If this could be the case for you, find the ToDo and delete it.

  • How to make a message box pop up?

On my website I want when someone clicks a hyper link a message box appears instead of going to the page.
so I could have a SECRET page and then when they click it a message box pops up saying "Sorry this page is secret" or something like that.

You can use fancyzoom or image popup methods (using an image file with the text in it). This demo page has an example: Fancy Zoom & Image Popup.
Or you could use rollover methods like in this demo page: Mouse Rollover & Animated Gifs
Still another possibility is the show/hide text method: Show and Hide.
