WebDAV issues
Im running Arch Linux on my pogo plug and used the instructions on this Wiki. I can connect, delete the stuff in the folder but when i try to copy something to it i get the error on WIN 7 "Cant read from source file or disk" Any ideas? Another question is what would i need to do to move the DAV folder from the /srv/http/dav to /media/External as thats where all my files are stored. The OS is stored on a 2GB usb stick and isnt suitable for storing other files.
zenlord wrote:Do you see any errors in your apache log files?
here is the log from ERROR_LOG i cleared it and then restarted the server and then tried copying a file.

WebDav Issues (calDav, cardDav)
Good news first: I was able to connect with my webDav provider. I made one account for each service and the phone automatically grouped them together.
But they dont work as they should...
The cardDav account only fetches 25 contacts of 100+. When I create a new contact on either side it also wont show up on the other side.
calDav worked first. But it stopped fetching new entries from the server. However creating a new entry on the phone gets transmitted to the server and vice versa.
Various desktop clients work flawless with those accounts.
Anyone had similar issues or maybe an idea to solve this?
Btw: Will the field for Outlook categories ever get implemented? I am tired of getting it strippend from my data. It would also be nice to use it for automatic Groups. Even my old phone did this although it rather sucked at synchronizing.Did set up a fresh calendar on the server and updated the contacts too.
For a short time I had all my calendar entries showing up on the phone. I could open and view them
But now most vanished again -.-
It looks like everything that has an Outlook Category assigned got filtered by the system. Which is everything except for birthdays in my Calendar. This does not what I expected from business phone...
Contacts on the Phone now made it to 46. Umlauts (ä,ö,ü) got converted in question marks in a square... (Edit: Error with umlauts was made by a different client)
After more than one year after the BB10 release, stuff like this should have been ironed out. -
Webdav issue Error 500...
I've recently installed Server on OS X 10.8, but I can't get webdav working.
After enabling webdav on some shared folder, it did work perfectly. But after I tried to secure the access only to selected users, I now get a Server error 500 and nothing appears anymore on the clients (Goodreader, Numbers on iPad, safari...).
Of course I tried to put the proper rights back, but no luck.
Anyone knows how to solve this issue? Or at least how to get to the proper log file (web server error logs don't show anything)...
Thanks a lot.
YannLaunch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and have a look at /var/log/apache2/ directory. If you're still using the default names, then access_log and error_log are the files.
cd /var/log/apache2/
then some of the typical commands used here are:
ls
cat access_log
cat error_log
tail -n1000 access_log
tail -n1000 error_log
Also use the command sudo apachectl configtest to verify that the Apache configuration file syntax is OK, though it's somewhat unlikely that's wrong. -
WebDAV Issue [11g]
Ok so I know I asked this before, and the solution was informative. Yet upon learning the software our users will be using tight integration with Microsoft Office products is not needed. Just a simple network connection to webdev through a windows file browser is enough for what we need. Thing is we got that working but insted of showing framework folder it is showing contribution folder and I was wondering if it is possible to change where it is pointing at so it would show framework folder?
How are you trying to connect? with what webdav client? after winxp, it got really tricky to get windows' native explorer to function with webdav. I've always recommended people use the DIS explorer integration. if that wouldn't work, then I'd setup bitkinix for them as a service, which would override the windows native webdav integration into windows explorer. in short, I don't expect webdav to work in windows ootb w/o some third-party client.
Also, what version of WCC are you on? if it's 11.1.1.2 or 11.1.1.3, it may be before webdav was built into frameworkfolders. I don't think FF is currently supported with portal/spaces setups, but FF should be supported for EDMS-type (i.e., plain doc mgmt) configurations. I'd have to check the docs or verify with product mgmt on that. it's hard to keep track of these details version per version.

Various issues with webdav and DW 8
I have numerous Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Dreamweaver 8 users
connecting to an Apache web server using WebDAV protocol for
content management.
Dreamweaver MX 2004 users have absolutely no issues
connecting and updating content using WebDaV.
Dreamweaver 8 users face multiple issues
-> It takes a very long time to connect to the WebDav
server
-> It takes a very long time to connect get/put or
checkin/checkout
-> Frequent timeout and permission errors
-> Errors while trying to rename files/folders
-> syncronize option is disabled
I noticed that DW 8 reports this client signature
"Contribute/3.0" while MX 2004 uses "Dreamweaver-WebDAV-SCM1.02". I
added both these to BrowserMatch redirect-carefully settings in
Apache.
I saw numerous posts about WebDAV issues but I do not believe
any of these cover this situation. Your help is appreciatedHi Automatic motion,
Try disabling non microsoft startup services viz antivirus etc ( Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-servic es-windows.html ) and then try installing.
You might also want to enable the hidden admin account ( Ref : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-adminis trator-account-on-windows-vista/ ) and then try install in this account and check.
You can also troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5 -cs5.html. -
Can no longer mount iDisk with WebDAV
Since last night I can no longer sync my iDisk, or mount any iDisk form other users. I've read the support answer that if you get "Last sync failed" with the iDisk sync, you should run "fix permissions" and reboot.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303032
However, this has not helped me. I've tried this several times. This problem is specific to my intel MacBook.
- iDisk mounting and syncing works just fine with my .Mac account on another computer.
- I tried mounting an iDisk on another user account on this MacBook, but this didn't work either. I suspect this is a system wide thing.
- I checked the permissions of "webdav_fs.kext" on my MacBook and my text top system, and they are identical. The desktop works still, my MacBook doesn't.
- I also checked that this kernel extension is loaded, and the system says yes.
- if I try to mount someone elses public iDisk folder, I get the following error message in the console:
Mar 28 20:27:40 Dr-Schaubs-MacBook webdavd[705]: (SCDynamicStoreNotifyFileDescriptor(gProxyStore, 0, storenotifyfd)) failed; going to SCDynamicStoreNotifyFileDescriptor; file: mount.tproj/webdav_network.c; line: 741
ANY help here would be greatly appreciated. I've tried all I could think of.
thanks,
Hanspeter SchaubOk, I tries using the command line mount_webdav command. It didn't seem to work. I got no error messages, but no volumes were mounted.
I tried connecting to another (non-iDisk) web folder at bingodisk.com. This worked fine on my desktop, it doesn't work on the MacBook. This seems to confirm that this is a basic Finder webdav issue, not iDisk specific.
I looked through the system preferences to try to find any appropriate *.plist files to remove/reset. I tried removing
/Library/Prefernences/Network/com.apple.DotMacNotifications.plist
/Library/Prefernences/com.apple.networkConfig.plist
but this didn't do anything. Any ideas on what setting file might influence the Finder's webdav functionality?
If I try to do a iDisk sync in the Finder, the console give me the same message as when I tried to directly mount another person's public iDisk

I wonder which file it is trying to access here and failing??

I'm using WebDAV to access files through Windows File Explorer stored in my SharePoint 2013 farm. There have been some issues with users getting disconnected from these network locations, such as the network location going offline from the client when
attempting to save. Are there any generic WebDAV troubleshooting steps I should be taking a look at on the client end? I found a few recommendations here: http://www.iis.net/learn/publish/using-webdav/using-the-webdav-redirector#003 but I
was wondering what else I should be looking at on the client side in order to troubleshoot WebDAV issues properly.
Thanks. In an effort to answer my own question, I also found this article. http://mysharepointwork.blogspot.ca/2011/09/network-name-cannot-be-found-accessing.html
Open the command prompt and run the following commands on the server one row at a time
net stop webclient
net stop mrxdav
net start mrxdav
net start webclient
Also if you're running Window Server, then you'll need to install the Desktop Experience in order to have the Web Client service installed. I ran into this issue much to the chagrin of the rest of my server team when I told them I had to install it
on all the servers which they wanted to upload to SharePoint from using UNC paths.
Additionally there's a file size limit for uploads through the Web Client service. This can be increased through the registry, according to this article. http://yalla.itgroove.net/2012/09/webclient-service-file-size-limit-in-sharepoint/
By default, Web Client file size limit is set to 47Mb or so. To increase this limit:
Backup the Windows Registry – be cool, keep your job
Open Windows Registry using regedit command
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters
Right click on the FileSizeLimitInBytes and click Modify
Click on Decimal, and type 4294967295 and click OK
Restart Web Client service by typing services.msc. -
Contribute CS5 - Getting Locked Out by WebDAV on Review
OK, we're using Contribute CS5 here, and we have writers who are sending drafts to publishers here, and we're using WebDAV. Contribute is using WebDAV locking, so as a result it's not creating any .lck file, the locks are being kept track by a WebDAV database.
However, when a writer sends a draft for review, and a Publisher tries to Publish, they get the following error:
"someone else changed this page on your website while you were editing it. What do you want to do?"
When they select to "publish your draft, overwriting the changes the other person made," contribute responds with the following error:
"access denied. The file may not exist or there could be a permission problem."
It looks like the only option would be to publish the draft as a new page.
When I go into Dreamweaver to see the check out information, it tells me that it is checked out by "Adobe Contribute."
I saw a few threads on this issue before, but none of the resolutions worked.
I saw one suggesting that I disable rollbacks, but rollbacks aren't disabled.
I saw this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/112454#112454 which said to give people permission to the _mm and MMWIP folders, but they already have Read/Write access to those folders.
The only way I am able to break the lock is to access the files using the service's web interface (which doesn't use WebDAV), delete the file there and re-upload the current copy. I cannot seem to break the lock otherwise.
I don't know if this is a WebDAV issue or a Contribute issue, though the web server people seem to think it's something to do with Contribute.Hi,
According to this technote: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/194/tn_19469.html , Contribute supports only exclusive locking of files, and hence, the editor of the page can only publish the page, I think. So, you can log a Feature Request for this. The Feature Request link is: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=9 -
Outlook 14.4.8 on iMAC Retina and Yosemite 10.10.2 is not synchronizing with Exchange 2007 anymore (shows "downloading" but no new messages shown in inbox".
Accessing Mails with Webbrowser and from Windows Outlook is working correctly.
All Macs (also the ones with OS 10.6.8) do not anymore show any new messages in inbox.
Restarted Server, tried to disable autodiscover on macs and deleting/adding account and repairing database does not fix the problem. Also restarted server several times.
We have the same problem on 2 imacs retina with yosemite and on 2 mac pro with 10.6.8 and different office 2011 versions.
i tried to configure the exchange account in apple mail on yosemite and it also states "connected" and does list some folders but no new mails are getting in.
Windows clients and outlook on them works and syncs fine, and also when connecting via webbrowser at owa it must be a mac-specific/webdav issue.
exchange 2007 Sp3 Version 8.3 (bild 83.6) and Update Rollup 15 for sp3 (automatic updates "HIGH" for server and clients)
there is one update popping up again and again even after everytime successull installation: Windows Mlicious Software Removal Tool x64 - October 2010.
i tried to configure a new user with empty mailbox and configured it with microsoft mail (mac - yosemite) as exchange and was able to send a mail from there (even if quite delayed).
but there are not coming in any mails.
same exchange accounts triggered by imap do work and also via owa.
Exchange Accounts in Outlook for MAC and also in Mail (Yosemite) do show the folder structures but there is no mails showing up. I can send mails from the exchange accounts created but they seem to be processed with a delay of like 15minutes and outlook
is giving error "end of file reached" but messages are send after some time.
Does seem like EWS is extremely slow, to slow perhaps to sync and therefore ending in timeout.
Also i cannot reach the server from externally over ssl https 443. if testing port 443 of exchange from outside the port seems closed even firewall settings of sbs 2008 and sonicwall ports are correctly open.
could it be there is something in regarding webdav which is very slow and leading to timeouts ?

ICloud Drive - can no longer back sync. with other devices.
I had to back up and restore my iPad mini last night to get rid of 2.5g of "Other". During the restore it upgraded to IOS 8 (there was no option no to). I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to iCloud Drive. There was nothing there telling me that if I did, I would no longer be able to have all my devices synced. I can no longer sync. with my Mac (Mavericks) or my iPhone 4s. I cannot afford to upgrade my phone, so I am now stuck with no synced photos, notes, calendar or anything else. This is not really good enough. There should be a warning there!

I've been through much the same sort of pain as you describe - I tried using shortcuts on the users' desktop for them to access SharePoint via WebDAV but these fail to connect regularly unless the user has logged on through the browser. I followed all of
the instructions in KB 2616712 without resolving the problem. I raised a Service Request and the answer I received was:
=====================
• Issue Description:
• Problems accessing mapped SharePoint folders via WebDAV
• Issue Resolution:
• This is a By-design behavior since SharePoint online in office 365 uses forms based authentication & the user is authenticated using SAML token as against BPOS where windows authentication method was used.
• This SAML token expires every 2 hours & after that the mapped drive for SharePoint library cant access the resources unless the user signs in to the site again from the browser.
• At this point we don't have a possible solution to this however this issue is in the knowledge of our Operations team & they are working towards a solution. We don't have ETA for the same though.
• You can develop a custom application that would authenticate the user against sharepoint site without having him to open the browser & sign in. The following article may be of help in doing so.

Secured WebDAV Mounted Volume Authorization Issues
I use a secure WebDAV mounted volume from myDisk.se and up until the latest Security Update have had zero issues being able to manipulate files and folders as I would on a normal volume. However, since the installation of the Security Update (2009-004 (PowerPC) 1.0) I find weird things happening with this mounted volume:
1) I am able to mount the secured WebDAV share using my security credentials.
2) I can create a default "untitled" folder but when I try to change its name, the WebDAV authorization dialog pops up and despite entering the same credentials (why, I am not sure as the volume has already been properly credentialed in order to be mounted), access is denied.
3) Trying to create a file within a folder on the mounted WebDAV volume I previously created pre-update causes the same authorization issue.
I have no other WebDAV shares I can try to mount from any other companies so I am not sure if this is a myDisk issue or one borne from the Security Update. I am not a .Mac/MobileMe user and that info is not filled out in System Preferences. The internal hard drive has been meticulously maintained with Disk and Permissions repair being run both before and after each and every software update installed. Likewise, the volume's structure is also checked both before and after and shows no need for repairs.
Any ideas? Perhaps there is a corrupted file somewhere that's affecting the authorizations needed by this third-party WebDAV volume?
The machine that has this problem is the last model iBook G4/1.33GHz 12" display, 1.5GB RAM, and a 100GB 5400rpm HD which replaced the stock OEM 40GB 4200rpm drive about one year ago.
I'm not willing to do an Archive and Install at this point as the loss of the WebDAV access to my online volume is not critical. Inconvenient as heck but not to the point where I'm willing (or able) stop my normal work to spend the hours it will take to get WebDAV access back.
Thanks in advance for any insights.same problem here with webdav, I can't mount my idisk from university network on Mac Pro 10.5.3 (although it mounts fine from home network on both ibook and PMG5 10.5.3). Issues with WebDav over SSL via Terminal Server when Accessing SharePoint 2013
Hi All,
We have deployed a terminal server from which multiple users access and heavily use SharePoint 2013 (hosted on a separate server). The SharePoint site is published to the internet and is operating over an SSL certificate. Over the last few months we have
been encountering a randomly occurring issue where all the users become unable to use Open with Explorer or mapped drives to access the site. During this time they can still access the site through the browser OK and download files etc. This issue sometimes
reoccurs every few days, although at points it hasn't occurred for a couple of weeks before resurfacing.
Current Terminal Server Config
TS 2008 R2 Enterprise
Site added to Trusted Sites. (have checked during broken time and still recognized as trusted)
Using IE 11, site added as compatibility view
Registries updated as below
reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters /v AuthForwardServerList /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d "*.clientsite.com"
reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters /v BasicAuthLevel /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Internet /v BasicAuthLevel /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f
registry added for tabprocgrowth added to 2
My test result are below:
Restarting the SharePoint server or the terminal server will resolve the behaviour
until the issue occurs again.
Users on the terminal server can still open the
ttps://clientsite2.harrierhc.com
URL (this url is bound to the same UCC cert) with open with explorer during this time.
While users are unable to access the ttps://clientsite.harrierhc.com
URL, if they access the same site from WebDAV with a separate binding (e.g. ttp://clientsite the behaviour works fine.
All other users not on the terminal server can still use the open with explorer behaviour during this time.
IIS reset on the SP Server & restarting the web client service on the terminal server have no impact
Reimporting the IIS certs have no impact
There are numerous errors in both server’s event logs but none at the time of the issue instigation.
Clearing the IE cached certificates has no impact
Going to IE properties for the site and clicking the ‘Install Certificate’ has no impact
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. If you need any more info let me know. (sorry for the ttps:// links cant be posted until my account is verified?

folders". I am pretty sure "web folders" are an example of a WebDAV
client. When I access the server (remote) folder via Internet
Explorer 7 and Web Folers (WebDav client) I am able to Write, Read,
Edit, Delete.
What we have tried:
- We gave full right access. Still did not work.
- We updated Dreamweaver to DW8.0.2 and it still doesn't want
to work.
Here is what an error message looks like in Dreamweaver
{Background File Activity - Detail}

Lean\5S\default.aspx - error occurred - An HTTP error
occurred - cannot put default.aspx. Access Denied. The file may not
exist, or there could be a permission problem.

Any help here would be much appreciated!
Is this a Windwos rights issue, Microsoft IIS issue, or a
dreameaver issue?
HELP...HELP..HELP - Thank you.We found the answer.... We need to remove the extension in
IIS. In IIS you must go into the application configuration IIS >
Home Directory Configuration... > App Mappings > Remove
Extensions used. By removing the ASP, ASPX and SHTML extension APP
Mappings we were able to upload files to the site.

Here is the cut of text from article.
Disable the ASP script server, the ColdFusion script server
or other script server you may be using. You do this by clicking
the "Configuration..." button in the screen shot above and removing
the appropriate DLL. This will prevent IIS from sending the
server-side script to the application server for processing.
Someone editing a ColdFusion page would want to see the
pre-processed ColdFusion code, not the resultant post-processed
HTML code.
Everything now is working just fine... Adobe Phone Tech
Support helped us solve this one. Thank you. -
Performance issue in KM as a WebDAV client
Hi all,
I have configured KM as a WebDAV client. But there is a performance issue.Whenever i try accessing the folder, its been cached.
Can some suggest how to avoid caching of data everytime.
I am using a memory cache.
thanx and regards,
anuradhaHi Anuradha,
well, it is intended that the data is being cached...
What is wrong with caching in your scenario?
What are the settings for your WebDAV-RM in KM (especially "Cache Timeout")?
And what are the settings for your memory cache ("Default Time-to-life" and "Restart lifetime on access")?
Best regards,
Paul
