WebDAV repository and incremental update

Hi guys
Does any of you know what is needed in order to make incremental update work when you have configured a WebDAV repository manager?
Is it only neccessary to check "Send events" or do you also have to activate some services like "properties"?
Any help will be rewarded.

It is a win2000 server, so I guess that should not be the problem? But since the data communication is going through the IIS, it might be a setting that needs to be set there?

Reindexing and Incremental Update

Indexes can be scheduled,but I don't know they are scheduled for Reindexing or for Incremental Update.
If I want them to work as Incremental Update everyday and work as Reindexing everyweek, what do I have to do?

If you schedule, it will basically do an incremental update. As far as I know you can't schedule a reindex. Warning - doing a reindex deletes the index and starts again - so it will work your TREX very hard!

Missing Option "Hidden" in WebDAV Repository

Hi there,
we create a WebDAV-Repository and connect a WebDAV to EP7.0 SPS12.
On this WebDAV there are existing folders. If we want to change the properties of an existing folder and modify the description, we got an error after click on "Save".
The error calls, that the option "Hidden" is missing. But the new description is saved.
If I create a new folder in KM on WebDAV, the option is available.
If there are any hints? Do a screenshot is necessary to show my problem?

hmmm... It´s possible for me to change/modify the property description, but if I save this details, I get this message that the option "Hidden" is not there.
So modify is allowed, but not alle properties are shown.

How To create a WebDAV repository...

Is there any documentation available for creating a WebDAV repository and making it available for TREX to index and search. I tried to follow the help doc in creating such a repository but the WebDAV rep. I created does not show up in the KM repository listing.
I'm running EP6 SP2 Patch 3.

Differential Incremental Backup or Incrementally Updated Backup?

DB Version:11g
DB Size:450Gb
DB type: OLTP (storing retail warehouse transactions)
To implement a proper backup strategy, we are currently weighing the Pros and Cons of Differential Incremental Backup and Incrementally Updated Backup.
I understand that , for Incrementally Updated Backup , the level 0 backup must be stored in FRA. We don't want to configure FRA as of now.
Which backup strategy would you choose for a similair environment?

I don't think that 11g RMAN level 0 backup need to use FRA: can you provide us the link to Oracle doc ?
When designing your backup strategy you need to define:
RTO: recovery time objective
RPO: recovery point objective.

To meet a low RTO objective, you may need to use incrementally updated backup because it should be faster to recover from incrementally updated backup compared to differential incremental backup.

Indexing webdav repository

Hi,
we have configured windows file share into KM by webdav repository and SSO. Now our requirement is to index these repository documents. As these scenario works as an SSO model, i have created index_service and other service users in ADS.
I am indexing it by assigning datasource as these webdav repository. I have some 8000 documents under this repository. But when the indexing is ove, i could see that only few hundred documents are getting indexed. Other documents failed to get preprocessed. It is throwing error as
Return Code: 13502
Return Message: HTTP-Proxy: BadGateway
Document Status: Preparation Failed
Action: Index
Retry Count: 3
What is that i can do to get all the documents indexed ?

Ganesan,
1) Check if all the documents are visible in KM content iview.
2) Since you are able to index few documents I guess the problem could be with TREX's limitation. There are few limitation with TREX (it wont index xls with more than 10000 lines, pdf more than 5Mega bytes etc).

Incrementally updated backup and EMC NMDA

Hello Everyone,
I'm kind of a newbie in setting up networker module for oracle, to backup database to tape. We use the oracle's suggested backup strategy to backup DB to Disk first using the incrementally updated backups with recovery set to 3 days (RECOVER COPY OF DATABASE WITH TAG ... UNTIL TIME 'SYSDATE-3') , which helps us to recover DB to any point in time using the backup files in disks vs. going to tape. After backup to disk, we backup recovery area to tape nightly. However, we do want to maintain backup Retention Policy of 1 month. Couple of questions,
1. If i set RP to recovery window of 31 days in RMAN, then backups don't obsolete at all. this forces me to set RP in networker and they don't recommend setting RP in both RMAN and networker. how is this done generally to obsolete backups from tape as well as rman (catalog in CF) with above strategy. perhaps in this case i should set RP in netwoker and set RP in RMAN to none and rely on crosscheck and delete expired commands to sync with RNAM catalog.
2. Wondering if nightly backup of recovery area to tape is going to take incremental from previous day and NOT full backup. The reason i ask is, i do not want the tape to do full backup of FRA every day cause full backup datafiles change once in 3 days based on the until time set. is there an option do set in networker to do incremental only or that's the default.

Incremental Updates and PKCS7 Signatures

Hello, this is my first message in this forum and I thank you in advance for your help.
I am developing a component to countersign PDFs. I was able to place the first signature ok, but when a countersign it problems come.
The way I countersign the document (as i read in the document "Digital Signatures in the PDF Language") is:
I create an incremental update with the following information:
1* Catalog changes
2* Info object
3* Acroform changes
4* New Annotation
5* New signature.
6* xref section
7* Trailer
The new signature is computed on the whole document but the signature new itself.
After this, not only the new signature is invalid, the previous signature becomes invalid althout there is no change in the previous version. I only have to remove the incremental update to get first signature to be valid again.
Acrobat Reader shows next message:
Error during signature verification.
Unexpected byte range values defining scope of signed data.
Details: byte range of signature is invalid.
I have reviewed thouse ranges several times but i did not find any error. Can anyone help me?
I could post a (badly) countersigned file if that could help.

Hello again. First of all, thanks again for your help.
I don't want to abuse but I have another problem with signatures.
I have two ways two sign a PDF.
A) Load the PDF, add the signature fields, sign and save.
B) Load the PDF, add the signature as an incremental update, sign and save.
I would prefer to use always the second alternative but problems come when I use method B to countersign.
If I sign a PDF with method A and then countersign using method B, I have a correct PDF with two signatures.

If I sign and countersign usign method B, acrobat just ignore the second signature as it was not there, although It is able to detect changes after first signature.

Using SSO and user mapping with WebDav Repository

Hi guys,
I have a WebDav Repository in portal and i configured SSO with SSO22KerbMap in IIS server. All is ok, but i have some UME users than don't have user in our Active Directory, i need use user mapping with this users. Do it's possible?
Currently i have a KMWebDav system (with same alias name that http system) and i mapped one of my UME user (with name 'umeuser' for example) with one Active Directory user (with name 'aduser' for example), if i try access to my webdav repository from KM Content with 'umeuser' i can see in SSO22KerbMap log a message like:

I see a lot of documentation on upgrade but I just couldn't find this. I installed OBI 11.1.1.7 and trying to test it on our own repository and reports.
I want to upgrade OBI 11.1.1.5 repository and catalog to 11.1.1.7 and run those in my new installation. Is this possible?

Stop Oracle BI Presentation Services using Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Back up your Release 11.1.1.3.0, 11.1.1.5.0 or 11.1.1.6.x catalogs by using the 7-Zip utility to create a compressed file for it.
Create a backup copy of the instanceconfig.xml file.
The instanceconfig.xml file is located in the ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obipsn (on UNIX operating systems) or ORACLE_INSTANCE\config\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obipsn (on Windows operating systems) directory.
Change the upgradeAndExit option to true in the instanceconfig.xml file.

How to change the 'Default operating mode' of a mapping on the repository and not from the client

Hi everybody,
I am using OWB 11.2.0.3 and under the mapping's configuration property, I have the necessity to change the Run time parameter "Default operating mode" to SET_BASED in almost all my mappings.
Because I have 745 mappings in which the Default operating mode is different from SET_BASED, instead to open 745 times the 'Configure' and update manually the value, is there a way to update safely these values (with an oracle predefined script) directly on the repository ?
I know that exists a view called CMPSTRINGPROPERTYVALUE_V based on a table called CMPSCOPrpClasses, but changing this table it's very complicated for me because contains only keys and then I don't know in which way is connected with all the other structures....
If somebody knows a method more efficient to do these updates on the repository and not from OWB client I will appreciated it!

Creation and increment of batch number

Hi,
Very urgent please.
I have one reuirement in my bdc for uploading AR OPEN ITEMS Using bdc ,
     batch(4)     bukrs(4)     kunnr(10)        hkont(10)

for debit and credit we have one batch number and it has to be incremented according to document posted

U know this has to be incremented and not updated in sap its only batch grouping the custmer .

SAP does not stop you from re-using an existing batch number. The message that you get is in a SAP standard delivery just a warning, as it is from a business process unusual that the same batch can be received multiple times.
If it is an error in your case, then somebody in your organization has changed the message attributes. so you should talk to them (see the change log in your DEV system) to know why this was done and what the solution for your case could be

Hi, here is my problem.
I'm working in my own annotation app. It incrementally updates pdfs. Works fine with most of the pdfs.
But i've found couple of pdfs, that was being corrupted after updating.
Here goes more details:
Single page-linearized pdf: when i've looked into pdf source, i found that page object has /Parent key which referencing to non-existing object. Normally, as i understand /Parent for page object is /Type /Pages objects with /Kids /Count etc.

KM links not functioning through Webdav repository view

Hi All,
I have a somewhat complicated setup here which is causing some strange issues.
We have an EP instance and a BI portal instance setup. Currently we broadcast reports to our BI portal KM instance, and use ICE to replicate the data from BI portal KM to EP KM. This is not the desired end result.
According to SAP, the end result should consist of using a Webdav repository solution. When users hit the EP KM, specifically the content that is being replicated over currently, they would hit a Webdav repository which points to the BI portal KM, which has an identical KM folder structure. So far this works fine. The problem happens when we create links within the BI portal KM.
Near the root of the KM structure, we have the main content. We link back to this main content with different permissions on each link. This is done for business reasons.
When I try to access this linked content from the BI portal KM it works fine. From the EP KM it throws a HTTP 403 not authorized error. I have tried opening up the permissions to everyone on both KM's with no success. When I access the content directly (ie not linked) it works fine (same permissions). Any ideas why the linked content through a webdav repository would throw HTTP 403 errors?

Edit: I should add that we are currently using EP 7.0 EHP1 SP3 highest current patch level and BI 7.0 EHP1 SP3 highest current patch level.
