WebDav - WebFolder can't be accessed from Windows Explorer

Hi,
I moved out UCM 10.1.3.5.1 from old servers to new servers. Application servers left on the same architecture - linux and web server left on IIS but we moved from IIS 6 to IIS 7.5.
Currentlty everything is fine, windows native authentication works, check in, check out, searching.... But I can't open web dav as a "network place" in file explorer in windows xp or windows 7.
I followed "Using a WebDAV Folder in IIS to Test Web Folders" in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10316_01/cs/cs_doc_10/documentation/integrator/install_folders_webdav_10en.pdf to test the webdav functionality outside the UCM content server. I created new virtual directory webdavtest, then enabled webdav and authoring rules for this folder and windows native authentication and I could successfully add new network place with URL https://our_ucm_host/webdavtest in windows XP's file explorer and also in Windows 7's file explorer. So basically the web folder functionality on IIS server is covered.
But I do not know how to enable access also UCM's document via webdav.
I can access "Contribution Folders" via "Browse Content" in UCM.
Also entering url https://our_ucm_host/idc/idcplg/webdav/Contribution%20Folders/ leads to the "Exploring "Contribution Folders"" in UCM.
But when trying on windows xp to add new network place with "Internet or network address" as https://our_ucm_host/idc/idcplg/webdav/Contribution%20Folders/ or as https://our_ucm_host/idc/idcplg/webdav
it throws an error "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another"
I am currently out of ideas what and where is wrong. Any ideas from anybody?

Can you try using the non-SSL port : http://our_ucm_host/idc/idcplg/webdav and then see if the connection works fine ?
Also use Fiddler tool to get some details on what exactly is not correct when using SSL(or non-SSL) port when trying to create a new web dav connection . This will give some ideas on whether the lock option is not turned on and likewise .

Also, you mentioned that you have been successful burning a CD with the Windows OS. Make sure that you have closed all software programs that can access the CD burner so that there isn't a conflict for the drive. Sometimes chaning the burn speed from "maximum" to 8x can also help in this situation.

I tried to install driver on connecting PC, i tried to install printer as Local printer with local port - \\WIN7-32bit\HP PSC 1310 Series\ - and i got access denied, and before i reinstall Windows on 64Bit machine its worked correctly... anyone know how to solve this problem ?

When i connect it on 64 Bit machine printer requesting driver *.inf and not specific file...
i try to install 64bit driver on 32 bit machine in sharing options and they didn't support it...

More than likely, you are receiving the access denied error because there may not be a HomeGroup in place.
To handle networks securely with Windows 7, Microsoft took a different approach. A HomeGroup essentially creates a trust among all the devices in that home group. If a device is not in that homegroup, then that system will essentially be denied access.
Click on Install a printer on a home network to get basic steps to install a printer in a network environment.
Click on HomeGroup: recommended links to get more information about Home Groups, including setting one up.

Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from Windows Vista or Windows XP

I'm running a English Windows Vista Ultimate and just bought a
ENGLISH Windows 8.1. I've downloaded the WET for Windows vista and tried to complete the second portion of the transfer by specifying the saved .MIG file WET created. Then I got the error message: "Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer
files from Windows Vista or Windows XP".
The truth is, Microsoft was too busy integrating special effects to it's operating system and claimed it as fully polished instead of making sure built-in tools were worth using.
Another harsh reality is that THERE IS NO WAY TO TRANSFER a file from Windows Vista to Windows 8. That's because engineers didn't even bother to make that possibility happen. Just Google: "Transfer from windows vista to windows 8" and you'll see
there are no relevant Microsoft web page about this.
Worse, Microsoft is giving excuses. To solve this issues, they came with a toolbox of fake scenarios in order to confuse clients even further, while they know damn well the Windows Easy Transfer is NOT EASY and certainly in multiple cases
DOES NOT TRANSFER jack to begin with.

I somewhat agree with you.
Trying to transfer from 7 to 8.1 and although it looks like the "7" side of the equation is working, the "8" side isn't.
"7" is trying to connect to "8" but "8.1" is being just plain stupid.
Not even sure why the MIG file step is even necessary if all I want to do is transfer one file between two machines. Said file is really BIG, or i'd just use my network, and the "8.1" rig doesn't have a dvd reader...
Per the MIG step... my file again, is big... I'd need to "mig" this file just to send it? Can't even get to the step where I'd mig-it and if i did, how long would that take?
So this is what progress is all about... geez... gimmie a NULL MODEM CABLE !!!

Can't print from Windows Explorer

After installing the "HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a", on a Windows 7 64-bit PC, that is Ethernet connected, I get the following error message:

When I try to print from Windows Explorer; however, I can print from other applications such as Word and Quicken OK, and I can print from Explorer OK from a Windows XP PC. Anyone have any suggestions?

The issue is caused when Windows creates the printer profile in the control panel that it doesn't correctly create it with the drivers.
We're not going to completely uninstall all the HP software, instead we're going to remove the corrupt Windows printer profile and reinstall it. Total time for this on an average computer is about 5-10 minutes to completely repair (including reboot).
1) Navigate to Start Menu > Devices and Printers or Start Menu > Control Panel > Printers
2) Select each printer profile for the printer with an issue, then select remove device/printer.
3) Reboot
4) Navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > HP > insert model # here > Add Printer (or Setup Wizard)
5) Follow the setup prompts to reinstall the printer profile and it recreates the Windows printer.
6) Test by printing google.com (uses very little ink when the test page comes out).

Can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer on Windows 8.1

after I've upgraded to Windows 8.1, I can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer (directly double clicking the file). The AcroRd32.exe runs in the background (2x !) as I see the processes in task manager, but there is no user interface visible. I have Acrobat
Reader 11.0.06, the desktop version (not Metro). I tried uninstalling the Acrobat reader and installing it again but this didn't help. The only way to open PDF files is to close the AcroRd32.exe from the task manager, open empty Acrobat Reader from the desktop
and then drag&drop the PDF file over that window. This is quite inconvenient. Is there a way to fix this issue so I can open PDF files directly from windows explorer?

hmmmm no need for windows device. simply hold down Command and R at start up it will install recovery HD and then u can install OS, for that u need a stable and good speed internet. so fist connect your Mac with internet and then start it by holding cmd and r after that it will do all the work.

I'm a Photoshop Elements 7 newbie... I can't drag and drop images (jpeg, tiff, Olympus RAW) from Windows Explorer (file explorer and not IE) to Photoshop Elements like I can in Corel Paint Shop Pro X2? It also works in Corel Painter IX.5 & ArtRage 3 (except for RAW)... My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.... I've uninstalled and re-installed Elements but to no avail. I've also tried to run Elements under various compatability modes but still no luck....
Any ideas?

I wasn't running the program as administrator so I enabled that compatibility property applied it then disabled it. It seems to work now. I thought I'd add this to flesh out the previous answer. I didn't open the program in between the enable and disable, so it is a quick process. Also, I am using windows 8.1 and had to open the file location in order to do this. Right click on the tile then choose 'open file location'
