Webdynpro ABAP configuration? How to?

Dear all experts,
I wanted to practice Webdynpro ABAP, so I have installed ECC 6.0 IDES system, whenever I run my WD application it loads a browser, it askes for a username/password after that system gives the following error :

What has happened?
The URL http://eccserver:8005/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/demo_table was not called due to an error.

It is clear that it because of missing configuration.
What I have understood through googling :
We need to configure our hostname.domain in C:WindowsSystem32DriversetcHosts which I have done as :
192.168.2.1    mydomine.sap.com   localhost
"192.168.2.1    is the looopback adapter IP
But I was unable to make out what else to be configured and how to configure?
Can any one help me out how to resolve this?

If you donot know this,on windows system, you can set the domain name in the following way:
1 Right click on My Computeru2013>Computer Name tabu2013>Click Change
2 Click Moreu2013>Enter your domain name in the format u201Ccompanyname.comu201D under the section Primary DNS Suffix of this computeru2013>Click OK until you have exited
To set icm/host_name_full, go to transaction RZ10
Choose your Instance profile, click on Extended Maintenance and then click on the Change button
if you see icm/host_name_full present, then edit it, else add it by using the New parameter button
set the value to <hostname>.companyname.com
Save and activate your profile
you might need to restart the Application server to take effect.

Configuration steps for ICM and ICF for WebDynpro

I am new to WebDynpro, I have created one application (a very simple one, with assistance from net). But when I am trying to run this one, I can oly see "Can not display this page". I think there might be some ICM and ICF configuration is required for this.

You know you really shouldn't need to do that. Sometimes you see that suggestion if this is a temporary sandbox or trial system installation; but for a real ABAP AS, it would be rediculous to go around to every client machine and add the IP address to the host file. Component Configuration in Webdynpro ABAP

Hello,
I created a Webdynpro ABAP Application which works fine . Then I created a Component Configuration to hide a particular UI Element . Now how can I test it? Also I tried creating a iview on Portal and point to the Application name and Configuration name but still that UI Element shows up.
What is the right way of doing this.?

Hi,
To test the web Dynpro Configuration
1) Right click the web dynpro component and select the Create/Change configuration item
2) A new application configuration window opens in that window give your Web Dynpro component name and in the Configuration id give a Name for your configuration and save it
3) After saving a new window opens with list of created configuration find your config file and select it and click on the go to configuration button
4) Here you will find the component name and Configuration id which we have already given
5) Choose change button here you will see Attribute, Component Defined and Web dynpro built-in tabs
6) select the context attribute which you have created in the custom controller with type boolean and set it to false to hide it
save the configuration and test it.
Note: To test the Configuration an configured application will be created under the web dynpro application right click and select test.

Webdynpro ABAP webservice call to external server - Cookie issue

Hi,
We are experiencing cookie issue while calling webservice to Tivoli system hosted on IBM websphere.
Steps we have done as follows:
1. Created a ABAP Proxy class from Tivoli WSDL.
2. Configured T-Code LPCONFIG to point to above proxy class and logical port.
3. Configured SM59 RFC connection to point to Tivoli server using basic authentication mechanism (User ID/Password).
4. Called webservice method from WebDynpro ABAP program.
After above steps, we are able to call the webservice method successfully but second time we are experiencing Cookie being adding to the request and eventually no response back to our program.
When we investigated this cookie issue with IBM Websphere people, they says thay have enabled SSO Config instead of basic authentication and that's why a cookie is being added to the request and fails. when they disabled SSO, we are able to call webservic method sucessfully sevaral times. but now this cannot be no longer disabled as other applications are using SSO enable option. So, we are thinking, is there something that can be done in SAP ECC itself as we see the option of using SSO in SM59 instead of User Id/Password but not sure How?
If anybody has undergone this scenario/SSO config from ECC SM59 successfully, Please reply back.

Once done, under Client PSE in Tcode STRUST, you can upload the certificate obtained from the SSO enabled system and use the client PSE (Default) in the SSL Client Certificate area of SM59

We have a requirement of showing the form 16 for our client employee's.
I am trying to develop a webdynpro project which should display the employee's form 16.
I have created a view and placed UI element Interactive Form as per as below documentaion :

Portal Workprotect in Talent Profile - WebDynpro ABAP FPM application

We are trying to implement Workprotect in ESS - Talent Profile application (HRTMC_EMPLOYEE_PROFILE). The requirement is that when user had entered data in either Internal work experience, External Work experience or other tabs; before he has saved the data, if the user clicks on some other link in portal or try to close the window, Portal work protect that is enabled should prompt the user to save the data or risk losing data.
What has been done so far:
1. Enabled Workprotect on Portal:
Step 1: In the portal, go to System Administration -> System
Configuration -> Service Configuration.
Step 2: In the portal catalog, Select
application "com.sap.portal.epcf.loader" and open the properties for
service "epcfloader" for editing
Step 3: Set property workprotect.mode.default = 3
Step 4: Save -> Restart service
Now, Portal Work protect is enabled.
2. On the Talent application end, I have seen many posts in forum & FPM related workprotect documentation. But, it is not clear as to how this actually works when it comes to FPM application.
The documents says FPM allows application to make use of work protect
mode offered by Portal. To achieve this, the application must u2018tellu2019 the
FPM whether it contains unsaved
(u201Cdirtyu201D) data. For this, the FPM provides the Web Dynpro Interface
IF_FPM_WORK_PROTECTION. In the is dirty method, you have to put
METHOD is_dirty.

Questions:

2. If you see general documentation for Work protect and webdynpro (not for FPM), it says that the application must define a special status (dirty flag), which tells the portal when there is unsaved data. You can set and cancel this status (TRUE, FALSE) using method
SET_APPLICATION_DIRTY_FLAG in interface IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION.
And it goes on to say that one must set application flag dirty
SET_APPLICATION_DIRTY_FLAG

and also set work protect mode

Which of the above ways should we follow ( Interface IF_FPM_WORK_PROTECTION or IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION) ? Which component and which method should we Set Work protect and Set isdirty

Hi Bhushan,
If you want to add 3 radio buttons, then first of all you have to append one field in EHHSSS_INC_BASIC_INFO_ALL_D structure with Fixed Domain values.
Then you need to enhance EHHSS_INC_REC_NRM_QAF_V3_BSCI component Configuration.
In that Configuration you need to add field with display type Radio Button Group, with column count 3.

Webdynpro ABAP Travel and Expenses

Hi All,
         I have configured Webdynpro ABAP Travel and Expenses with ESS 1.41. I am able to submit an expense request and view the PDF form when I click on the Display form in the request. I am using the standard worklfow WS20000040 for trip approval. When I submit a trip it comes back to the employee for for the trip consistent check. In this step when I click on the "Display Form" button I am getting the error "Value null of URL parameter SAP_FITV_PERSNO has the wrong type".
I followed the steps mentioned in the migration guide attached to the note 1076144 and I have uploaded the XML file provided for EHP4 in the portal.

The bindings in the workflow are correct, I am not sure why the values are not being passed from the UWL to the FITV_TRIP_FORM application.

We are also facing the same issue.
But still we are facing the issue. we have implimented the note 1076144 but not 1239932.
Is it mandatory to impliment the second note.
The reason we didnt impliment note 1239932 is that, we are not using FITV_POWL_TRIPS application.
we are using the UWL iview for travel workitems
Kindly help in sorting this issue.

ECatt Webdynpro ABAP problems

Hello everbody,
we are trying to script a webdynpro ABAP application with eCatt.
We have completed the system configuration steps (see below), but still when trying to record we are getting the error message:
"An error probably occurred during the logon to the Web Dynpro target system. Check user and password in the target system."
We have set up a HTTP connection to the target system with a preset username / password combination in the authentication details. We also log into the target system with this username / password combination directly just fine.
What could we be missing?
Some more questions:
Is eCatt supposed to execute the webdynpro on the target system as the user defined in the http connection or as the user executing / recording the script?
What user should be set in the http connection in the first place? I'm assuming its not the ecatt_http user because that one doesnt even exist in the target system (the guides only ask for this user to be created in the ecatt system)

Please take a deeper look into saphelp for RFC connections, to clearify, which user credentials are used with RFC connections.
