  • WebDynPro ABAP iView not picking Portal Theme stylesheet

    Hi,
    We are facing issues in integrating the WebDynPro ABAP application in Portal . The WebDynPro ABAP iView is not picking the portal theme. It is picking its actual color.
    We are in EP 6 SP 14.
    Can anyone let me know what can be the reasons.
    Best Regards
    Sid

    Hello,
    for the web dynpro for abap application you can create a application configuration. To create the configuration
    right click on the application -> create/Change Configuration -> and once you create the configuration, it will open up in browser and you can see 2 tabs structure and parameters
    In parameters tab you will find an option Force Use of External StyleSheet check the box and save the configuration. Once done with this process.
    Go to the iView Properties of the applications and set the application configuration name and it would take the Portal Theme.
    hope this helps.

  • Problems installing the new 'Look And Feel' done by Francios Degrelle

    I have download the new verison of the new 'Look And Feel' from
    http://sheikyerbouti.developpez.com/forms-pjc-bean/LAF/sources/v133/LAF_133.zip
    1- I defined a new section in formsweb.cfg named summit in the middle tier (AS 10g Rel2):
    [Summit]
    baseHTML=base.htm
    baseHTMLjinitiator=basejpi.htm
    baseHTMLjpi=basejpi.htm
    baseHTMLie=baseie.htm
    HTMLdelimiter=%
    workingDirectory=e:\app\summit

    IE=JInitiator

    jpi_codebase=http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/autodl/jinstall-1_4-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,4,0,0
    2- then I put a copy of the file 'forms.css' in the middle tier in the folder :
    apache\apache\htdocs
    so as to be on the path and then modified PM$CSS_FILENAME in all forms to be 'forms.css' instead of 'c:\forms.css' and recompiled.
    3-I put a copy of the file 'laf.jar' in the folder : 'd\Ora_AS\forms\java' in the middle tier and added this path to the classpath environment variable.
    4- I restarted the middle tier and wrote this URL:
    http://test/forms/frmservlet/config=summit
    the customers form opened but with no background images,I added the following to the URL '&form=test_laf_color_scheme.fmx',the form opened with the default color scheme to 'purple',I changed it from a drop down list to orange and all buttons background color degraded to orange.
    My questions:
    1-where are the background images ?
    2- I cannot compile the 'laf.pll' file to 'laf.plx',when I compile I get this error:
    FRm-91507 -internal error
    P.S. I read this thread :
    FRM-91507 when compiling a library with Forms 6i
    and I didn't understand it,where do I change the Forms_Path? in the forms Home release 1 or Forms home release 2?!!!
    3-Is the 'forms.css' file properly located? if not? where do I put it?
    Sorry for the long scenario but I'm really confused?
    Thanks
    Mohammad

    Hello,
    I'm curently out of everything so I cannot answer this one. All I can tell is that images are read from the client machine or jar file. If you want read images from the application server, you need the http:// syntax.

  • Where does the JeelyBeans look and feel come from?

    Where does the JellyBeans Swing look & feel come from that is used in
    Workshop UI?
    -Nick

    Nick -- Thanks for the kind words.
    While we don't have plans to make the look and feel available outside of the IDE,
    you may want to check out some of the other look and feel resources within the
    Java community such as
    www.javootoo.com
    or
    http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Programming/Languages/Java/Class_Libraries/Graphics/User_Interface_Classes/Look_and_Feels/?tc=1
    We did use JDK 1.4 for Workshop and were very pleased with its performance and
    other aspects.

    There is a distinct interest in developing C# clients purely due to the

    that Swing doesnt perform and doesnt look good. JDK1.4 reportedly has
    numerous performance improvents. What is missing is a good look and feel.
    The Jelly Beans look and feel is quite good (I suspect that it is no
    accident that its flat look is similar to Visual Studion .NET.).
    I think that encouraging developers to remain with Java for GUI clients
    can
    only be good for Java and in turn J2EE as a whole. A pure java environment
    would be much better than a deliberatly mixed environment. Java RMI is
    much
    simpler than SOAP, etc.
    Aside from the ultruistic viewpoint, we would dearly like to use it in
    our
    Swing applications - perhaps we can stave off a turn to C# / .net clients.

    Hi,
    I feel that the discussion forums look and feel has improved and it allows us to chosse only theForums that we need to see and thus eliminates unneccasr sctrolling.
    It would be better if OTN Reverts back to the old look and feel as regards showing the Questions and replies posted on that thread.
    That way would be easier to see all the details in one strech instead of clicking on the replies...
    I hope this would be considered.

  • Chromosomes and genes in portal look and feel

    Hi everybody.
    Has anyone experimented succesfully the use of genes and chromosomes in bea portal 9.2?
    I have troubles with look and feel editor, that doesn't show inlined css, and runtime also, that seems to always
    get the default.chromosome file instead of the one i configured in the .laf file.
    Any point? Thank you.

    In regard to your chromosome not working: if you created your .portal file first, and then changed the .laf file, you'll need to reload the markup from Workshop. See the second bullet item on this link: http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs92/portals/develop_portals.html#wp1011140
    If you want, before you do the above, you can check the markup of your .portal file to see if it's correct. Open your .portal as XML, and find the <netuix:lookAndFeel> element. It should have a attributes for skinChromosome and skeletonChromosome that equal your new .chromosome file's name.
    I don't believe that the Look and Feel editor supports inlined CSS rules at this time, but that is an optimization in scope for the next release.

  • Wireframes to portal look and feel

    hi,
    i am working on a webcenter portal application.
    as usual, we have got wireframes (html prototypes) from customer which has html, js and css files.
    now i have to produce same kind of look and feel on webcenter portal.
    please suggest what shall i do?
    is this recommended way?
    i copy content of css file which i got as part of wireframes into portal-skin.css file, now i use html components (div, ul, li, p etc) in page template and other jspx pages (reference could be the html files which i got in wireframes).
    please suggest.

    Hi.
    You can select two ways:
    - Continue with your HTML + CSS and create templates based directly on wireframes. Faster and easier solution for non-adf people.
    - Translate your wireframes to a ADF Templates and use ADF Skinning to achieve the styles. Slower and hard if you don't have much experience with it.
    About the solution of maintain HTML + CSS:
    - Maintain your structure of CSS, images and JS in separated folders of skin folder (In Web Content or in project PortalWebAssets).
    - In Skin files (like portal-skin.css) change ADF Skinning of components only. Is the best way to maintain the hierarchy of adf skins.
    About the solution full ADF:
    - Read this document about full ADF Skin and Templates: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/portal/learnmore/pagetemplates-1438595.pdf
    More info:
    - In adf-config.xml you can provide rewrite rules to search your static-files when you are using Web Server (OHS) to server static-files.
    I hope this help you.
    Regards.

  • WebDynpro ABAP iView not opening in new window

    Hi,
       I have created an iView for a WebDynpro ABAP application and I am having a link in a home page from where the iView should open in a new page. I have set the properties "Launch in new Window" and "Show open in new window option" of the iView but still it doesn't open up in a new window.
        Can someone suggest me what's going wrong?
        Will reward points for helpful answer.
    Regards
    Mukesh

    Hi Volker,
       Thanks for your reply.
       I think, I have set the properties of the iView right. I have tried with all the options for the property "Launch in new window" property of the iView but it didn't work.
       "By home page framework" I mean that the link of the iView in portal has been created using the "Home page framework" i.e. from "SPRO" transaction in the backend.
       Please let me know if you need any other input from me.
    Regards
    Mukesh

  • Instant portal Look and Feel

    Guru's,
    A customer is looking to brand an instant portal. Here's my question.
    Can they change the CSS that is delivered with Instant Portal to Brand?
    Can they use the HTML Template capability within Instant Portal
    Kwesi

    Search this forum for tips. There's an unsupported API (wwpob something...), or you can do a recursive query (think CONNECT BY) that crawls up the page hierarchy or you can select the page GUID from wwv_things (which I'd need to remember how to do), and then access it using /portal/pls/portal/<GUID> syntax.
    I'd kinda recommend the last option. It looks to me that Instant Portal does something to that effect.
    Thanks for mentioning Instant Portal. I showed it to our web content guy, and he's all excited about it for solving the "i need a departmental intranet!" quagmire.
    Now all the portal CM guys need to do is extend those amazing, AJAX-y Instant Portal bits to the rest of the product! That would definitely lower the ease-of-use barrier.

  • Unable to get the required look and feel.

    Hi,
    I am using Grid bag layout. I only have one row of components. The first component has to occupy 1column, the second 4 columns and the last 1column. The constraints that I have written for the same is:
              gridbagC.fill = GridBagConstraints.HORIZONTAL;
              gridbagC.anchor = GridBagConstraints.WEST;
                    gridbagC.weightx = 100;
              gridbagC.weighty = 100;
              gridbagC.gridy = 0;
              gridbagC.gridx = 0;
              gridbagC.gridwidth = 1;
              productNameL = new JLabel("*");
              productNameL.setOpaque(true);
              productNameL.setBackground(Color.green);
              gridbag.setConstraints(productNameL, gridbagC);
              panel.add(productNameL);
              gridbagC.gridx = 1;
              gridbagC.gridwidth = 4;
              productNameTF = new JTextField("");
              productNameTF.setOpaque(true);
              productNameTF.setBackground(Color.gray);
              gridbag.setConstraints(productNameTF, gridbagC);
              panel.add(productNameTF);
              gridbagC.gridx = 5;
              gridbagC.gridwidth = 1;
              productNameTF1 = new JButton("");
              productNameTF1.setOpaque(true);
              productNameTF1.setBackground(Color.blue);
              gridbag.setConstraints(productNameTF1, gridbagC);
                 panel.add(productNameTF1);The output being generated is having the first and the second component of the same width and the last one is slightly more than the other two individually.
    What is wrong with the above piece of code?

    The problem is (and it probably is the main reason people don't like GridBagLayout) that GridBagLayout uses 'relative' positioning. It's very hard to describe what that means though. The best I can do is an example:
    If I have 1 label it doesn't matter where I put it in the layout manager. It could be at (3, 48) with a width of 300 and a height of 2. It will still be in where the anchor, fill and weight dictate. If I add another label at (3, 50) it would simply mean that the first label will be above the second with no 'cells' in between. The positions for these might as well have been (1, 1) and (1, 2), respectively. The reason is that GridBagLayout sets any empty cells to have no height. To get the first label to actually have a grid height of 2 another label would need to be added at (4, 49).
    To solve your problem I would definitely look at setting it up like this:
    gridbagC.fill = GridBagConstraints.HORIZONTAL;
    gridbagC.anchor = GridBagConstraints.WEST;
    gridbagC.weightx = 0;
    gridbagC.gridy = 1;
    gridbagC.gridx = 1;
    productNameL = new JLabel("*");
    productNameL.setOpaque(true);
    productNameL.setBackground(Color.green);
    gridbag.setConstraints(productNameL, gridbagC);
    panel.add(productNameL);
    gridbagC.weightx = 1.0;
    gridbagC.gridy = 2;
    gridbagC.gridx = 1;
    productNameTF = new JTextField("");
    productNameTF.setOpaque(true);
    productNameTF.setBackground(Color.gray);
    gridbag.setConstraints(productNameTF, gridbagC);
    panel.add(productNameTF);
    gridbagC.weightx = 0;
    gridbagC.gridy = 3;
    gridbagC.gridx = 1;
    productNameTF1 = new JButton("");
    productNameTF1.setOpaque(true);
    productNameTF1.setBackground(Color.blue);
    gridbag.setConstraints(productNameTF1, gridbagC);
    panel.add(productNameTF1);

  • How to give BSP Iview look and feel of portal??

    Hi All,
    I've created a BSP application that I use to create an Iview for portal.
    I thought that if i used htmlb tags that the look and feel of portal would be automatic to my app but its not.
    I've tried assigning portal css classes to a html table but there's no effect.
    I've previewed one of the standard ivews and viewed the source and found the path of the css file.  But when i looked for it on the server, while the out folder was there (com.sap.portal.design.portaldesigndata) , there was no css files in this folder.
    So i'm at a loss.  In summary, how do i get my bsp app to have the portal look and feel?????  I would prefer to use the css files so that if any changes are made to the standard, the changes will be reflected in my custom iviews too.
    Any help, would be most welcome,
    Liz.

    Hi Liz,
    on the properties tab for the BSP application try selecting the "Supports Portal Integration" checkbox.
    Cheers
