  • Web Dynpro Application has expired

    Hi,
    I have developed a webdynpro application 'SalesOrderApplication' which calls a babi & displays result. This works fine when i call it from the webdynpro content admin. When i create a Sap Web dynpro Iview within portal and do preview the initial page shows up. If i do a search on this page it displays error saying
    The Web Dynpro Application 'SalesOrderApplication' has expired. Please restart the application either with the refresh button or click the following link SalesOrderApplication.
    The application status is showing "running" in the webdynpro content admin.
    Thanks in Adv

    Unni,
    The problem is not with application state (started or not). The problem is session tracking.
    Seems that your portal and wd cannot share HTTP session  cookie, probably due to cross-domain deployment: portal runs on one mashine, wd on other. This way cookies issued by portal are not visible to wd.

  • Webdynpro Application is Expiring

    HI All,
    I have a Web Dynpro  Application which uses another DC, next button on first DC calls a view of the other DC, this was running fine initially, now i have defined GP Interfaces so as to make it a callable object, from within GP this works fine, however when i now deploy and run the web dynpro application the first screen is displayed, however on clicking on the next button the application expired.
    Points will be rewarded if usefull.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vanita M.

    Hi
    NetWeaver CE 7.1 uses Java 5 and so does the NWDS CE 7.1 by default. The server you have is NW 2004s SP 9 which runs on Java 1.4. So you simply can not build with Java 5 and deploy it to a server with JRE 1.4, you will get a class unsupported version error.
    Next you are using NWDS CE 7.1 to connect to server 2004s. The architecture of the Java servers in SAP is changed. 2004s has SDM and dispatcher and a server process at its simplest form. In CE theres an ICM and server. (SDM & Dispatcher combined). You no more give the message port number when you set up the JEE server of NWDS 7.1 instead you would use instance number. When you register a NW 2004s server with NWDS 7.1 (instance numbers are available for 7.0 servers as well), the studio fails to find the deploy mechanism (SDM or ICM) hence you see a port -1.
    Lastly the architecture of WebDynpro is greatly changed from NW 7.0 to NW 7.1 so dont even think of deployment to previous versions.

  • Webdynpro Applications expire all the time

    Hi,
    I am facing a huge problem with my WebDynpro applications. I am running SAP EP 6.0 SP and a separate WebAS 6.4 SP 12.
    I am not deploying my WebDynpro applications on the SAP Enterprise Portal WebAS Server.
    The problem that I have regardless of integration in Enterprise portal is that my WebDynpro applications time out all the time.
    Even though I click around in the IView, after a few minutes, I get a message,
    <b>The WebDynpro application has expired. Please click on this link XXX to restart the application</b>
    I have gone to the configuration adaptor and set the default expiration time to 3600. ..I increased it just to try..to 7000..
    I have also additionally set the time in each WebDynpro applications to sapExpirationTime = 3600
    I am using fully qualified domain names so that shouldn't be a problem.
    Just to know...the Portal and the WAS used for deployed content run on the same machine on different port.
    Has anyone faced this problem and found a solution?

  • WebDynpro Application Expires !

    Hi,
    I have deployed my webdynpro applciation in the portal..When i click on any elemnt in that application...it is saying internal server error.. (the application has expired...)
    This happens the first time i open the portal.. when i click on someother work set and come back it is working fine..doesn't matter how long it is idle.. Its not getting expired.. Why is this peculiar behaviour happening...
    Also the first time the application comes inside a scrollbar container it throws the error.
    When i go to some other workset and come again.. the iView size is changed and whenever this happens the application does not get expired !
    Any suggestions!
    Regards
    Bharathwaj

    Hi Bharathwaj,
    well i think i also have faced this strange behaviour long ago when i was working with Portal.
    Now i am working with standalone web dynpro apps Still i suggest you to check the following things.
    >when you create an iView for your web dynpro apps, see the preview if you are going fine.
    > set the size of iView to full size. ( i think the properties is full_size)
    > check whether this is happening only for web dynpro apps or a jsp also.

  • Refreshing of WebDynpro iView when application is Expired

    Hi All,
    I am hosting a webDynpro application on Portal using WebDynpro iView.
    In the Application, I am passing the portal user who has currently logged in, using an iView property Application Parameter property as follows
    pUser =<Login.UserId>
    In the pUser variable i am getting the value of currently logged in portal user, which is used beigned used in Application .
    When WebDynpro application is getting expire as specified by Expiation property of Application, and when we again click on the link specified at the expiration Link,  application gets refreshed but the iView is not getting refreshed and the logged in user is not passed agian.Only when we click on the iView again the portal user is passed to application.
    Is there any way by which the we can refresh the iView when application is expire.
    Or is there any way by which we can pass the portal Role again WebDynpro application is expire
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Shruti.
    Edited by: Shruti Shah on Jan 7, 2008 5:40 PM

    Hi Shruti,
    You can use the UME APIs to get the logged in user.
    something like the below
    IWDClientUser user=null;
        IUser iuser=null;
         try
                 user=WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
                 iuser=user.getSAPUser();
                 if(iuser==null)
                 msgMgr.reportException("null  SAP user",false);
                 else
                 msgMgr.reportSuccess(iuser.getUid());
            catch(Exception ex)
    Award points if helpful.

    b) Can an ABAP WebDynpro application be developed in ECC or is it only applicable for version 4.6c?

    a) If an ABAP WebDynpro application has been developed, how could it be made available to the end user?
    Answer - By providing direct link of the WD application created in SE80, creating iView for webdynpro abap application in the portal environment and  NWBC environment
    b) Can an ABAP WebDynpro application be developed in ECC or is it only applicable for version 4.6c?
    Answer - Yes it can be developed in ECC. Webdynpro ABAP is introduced in NW 2004s (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or ECC 6.0)
    Thanks,

  • The Web Dynpro Application 'XssMenu' has expired

    Hi,
    we implement an ESS Scenario, with One Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP17, a mySAP ECC 5.0 System with ERP2004 and a seperate server with a java stack, because our customer don´t want to install and use a java stack on their HR/ERP systems. They want to minimize the performance.
    After some configurations, we get the startpage for ESS. If I click on a service like travel management it has no effect. If I click the second time, I got an error "500 Internal Server Error" with the message
    The Web Dynpro Application 'XssMenu' has expired. Please restart the application either with the refresh button or click the following link XssMenu.
    Same error comes, if I choose travel management in the second navigation level and click the service. And same message on every service.
    Now I tried anotehr way. I call the ess startpage directly on the external java stack. And here´s no problem. All WebDynpro-Services works fine.
    Can anyone help me, why the WebDynpro Service doesn´t work in the Portal?
    Best regards
    Christian

    We had exactly the same problem.  We had multiple java servers and our switch was not retaining stickiness.  So it would send the user to a different java server which hadn't got any session data for that user.
    If this could be it, get something like httplook to do a trace of what is happening.  We saw it switching java servers.
    If you do not have multiple servers it could be switches chopping out cookies, causing the same issue.

    Check the time for session timeout by the following steps:
    1. Open the visual admin tool.
    2. Navigate to Server -> Services -> Web Container -> Properties.
    3. Check the value of the property 'SessionTimeout'.

  • Getting error "Your session has expired. Restart this wizard to continue" when I create / configure service applications

    Last week, I installed 3 virtual servers (WFE, APP and DB).
    When I started to create the service applications on the app server, several of them gave me the following error at the end:
    "Your session has expired. Restart this wizard to continue. "
    Although the error occured, they actually are created. But I'm having difficulties with the Secure Store Service. I try to add a new Target Application and when I click Next, I get the same error.
    I tried to delete the application and recreate it. Tried to stop/start the Secure Store Service. I'm doing this as a local admin on the server (which was also used for installation and configuration of Sharepoint).
    No events in the eventlog. There is some logging in the ULS :

    The funny thing is... the service applications which I expected to give me some kind of trouble, are working perfect (User profile sync, Search). I installed numerous servers in the past 3 months and this is the first time I'm running into this and it's
    driving me crazy.

    After searching and searching, I found something...
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/eu/vsreportcontrols/thread/ca916bff-e996-41a2-b547-16542a298c39
    And the first reply caught my attention.
    It says that if your servername contains an underscore, these kind of errors might occur.
    And for sure, my servernames contain underscores. DOH!
    I'm going to change it and recreate the farm... just to be safe. Will get back with the results.
    Did renaming the server help?
