  • Theme in WebDynpro java callable object

    Hi Experts,
    I have created a portal theme and deployed on the server.
    Now i want to use this portal theme in my WebDynpro java callable object.
    I know how to use themes in WebDynpro application, set the theme in Exit plug of component interface view.
    However in WebDynpro java callable object how do i achieve this?
    here should i use WebDynproCOInterfaceView to set the desired theme to the callable object ?
    or should i set the theme in my Componet's interface view?
    i tried in both but its not working, i can still see the default theme.
    Am i missing anything here?

    Hi Guys,
    Any idea on this one?

  • Appying theme for Webdynpro java application.

    Hi Friends,
    I have change the font size and the content area of my WebDynpro java application which is a Standard Business package.
    I have already applied the theme in the visual admin,but when I make the changes to the theme it does not reflect on the application part.
    Please also let me know which specific theme values are to be changed.
    Request for all your inputs and solutions.
    Thanks,
    Shyam

    iViews used for application integration have a property called (technical name: LAF_Switch) like Send portal theme. This parameter defines if the portal will send to portal's style sheet definition. If so, the WDJ application will decide on some rules if or not to use the portal theme.
    [The SAP Note 1000889|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1000889] explains how a WD application decides whether to apply the portal theme or not. The note also gives you some hints to find out why the portal theme isn't getting applied.

  • Webdynpro Java and Webdynpro ABAP

    hi all,
    Im working in webdynpro java. Im confused about WD java and WD ABAP. which one we should select for what? And now a days people are telling that SAP is coming up all business packages in WD ABAP. Is it true? Which one is better either WD Java or ABAP?
    Thanks,
    J.Smitha.

    Smitha,
    It's tough question to answer. Which one to choose either Web Dynpro java or Web Dynpro ABAP , it depends on which technology you are comfortable. In relation to the business packages SAP already provided allmost all of them in java and in the future all the Business packages also available in ABAP. It's all how you want to develop the application. In sap portal world some applciation which we can develop with ABAP Web Dynpro and some applications with JAVA Web Webdynpro as SAP Web AS available as dual stack.
    If someone already has a strong ABAP background and has WD for ABAP available they should probably use that. If they are a J2EE developer they should probably use WD for Java but it is likely they will also then need some ABAP support for the backend systems.
    I think more customers may be asking for WD for Java projects simply because it has been around longer and is more widely available to customers where as some cutomers prefer to develop their application using ABAP Web Dynpro because of SAP propritary. But ultimately it's again all our interest and customer.
    Thanks

  • Reusability of Adobe form created in SFP in a WebDynpro Java application

    Hi Experts,
    Can some one advise me how I can use the pdf form created in ABAP side (Transaction SFP) in the WebDynpro Java application?
    What is the procedure to include this pdf object in the WebDynpro application development?
    Regards,
    Shobhit

    Hi,
    You can add customised UI elements by a right click in your library pallette/ ot by dragging the ui elelments into the pallette. Like wise you can put your layout into the library pallette and reuse them. You may refer the Adobe life cycle designer (ALCD) help for it.
    the second option i meant was after designing the layout in the SFP transaction, click on the PDF preview tab in the layout. Save the PDF.
    NOw on developing the Java application, open the ALCD and use tools-> import to import the PDF you have saved.
    Regards,
    Anto.

    Hi Abhijeet,
    try this.
    Assuming Value node Customer with attribute cname, cno and sal is bound to the table.
    //creating Dynamic node inside wdDoInit method for copy the table row details.
    IWDNodeInfo nodeInfo = wdContext.getNodeInfo().addChild("DynamicCustNode", null,true, false, false, false, false,
         true, null, null, null);
    nodeInfo.addAttribute("custName", "com.sap.dictionary.string");
    nodeInfo.addAttribute("custNo", "com.sap.dictionary.string");
    nodeInfo.addAttribute("custSal", "com.sap.dictionary.double");
    IWDNode node = wdContext.wdGetAPI().getRootNode().getChildNode("DynamicCustNode", IWDNode.LEAD_SELECTION);
    node.addElement(node.createElement());
    Inside View take a Button Say Copy,inside the action of the button store the selected table row data in the created dynamic node and copy
    the dynamic node details in to your Value node that is bound to the table.
    int leadSelected = wdContext.nodeCustomer().getLeadSelection();
    int n = wdContext.nodeCustomer().size();
    IWDNode node = wdContext.wdGetAPI().getRootNode().getChildNode("DynamicCustNode", IWDNode.LEAD_SELECTION);
    node.getCurrentElement().setAttributeValue("custName", wdContext.nodeCustomer().getCustomerElementAt(leadSelected).getCname());
    node.getCurrentElement().setAttributeValue("custNo", wdContext.nodeCustomer().getCustomerElementAt(leadSelected).getCno());
    node.getCurrentElement().setAttributeValue("custSal",new Double(wdContext.nodeCustomer().getCustomerElementAt(leadSelected).getCsal()));
      int  j = node.getCurrentElement().index();
      IPublicCustomerComp.ICustomerElement custElm = wdContext.createCustomerElement();
      custElm.setCname(node.getElementAt(j).getAttributeValue("custName").toString());
      custElm.setCno(node.getElementAt(j).getAttributeValue("custNo").toString());
      custElm.setCsal(Double.parseDouble(node.getElementAt(j).getAttributeValue("custSal").toString()));

  • Webdynpro JAVA, EP Admin or SAP-HR?

    Hello Experts,
    Although I am not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this question but still I am hopeful that you might guide me.
    I have worked on Webdynpro JAVA for around 2 years. There after i got the chance to work on SAP-HR (has been around 8 months on it). I find both of them interesting as well as challenging. I would like to know what would be the best choice at the moment among them keeping in view the future market? I also have the option to move into EP-Admin, but i am very confused as to in which of these areas should i pursue my career in?
    Somebody please help!!

    Again... this is always about people trying to be where "the money is" instead of following the path they are more confortable with... whats the point in getting a lot of money for something you hate.
    If you feel happy doing HR then that the best place for you, beside the fact that theres good market for it.
    Thats my advice.
    Regards
    Juan
    PS: It was the wrong forum by the way.... hehehe

  • ITS sessions in WebDynpro JAVA

    Hi experts
    We are developing a WebDynpro JAVA application in WAS7.0.
    In one view, we show a ITS page into iframe object. When open this page, in SAP transaction SM04 is showed the ITS session, but when we navigate back, to other page, or close navigator, the ITS remains open in SAP.
    If we open the ITS page directly in navigator and close them, the ITS session disapears in SM04.
    Any idea to solve this?
    Thx for advice

    Hi
    httpwatch is a tiny utility that allows us to monitor the http requests .
    you can get it here.
    www.httpwatch.com
    Using this you will be able to understand when the Sessions are being logged off
    in both of your scenarios.

  • Reg: calling default desktop page of enterprise portal from webdynpro java

    hi Experts
    Here is an scenario where i need to call enterprise portal desktop from webdynpro java application.
    Actually i have designed a custom Home page in  WDJAVA  and this page i have assigned as default  frame work page in enterprise portal ,so once we logon through the portal URL wewill  be getting this custom home page as default page and when i click on next button it should connect to the predefined  SAP given default frame work page.
    The thing is i am able to see the custom page and the button but when i click on the button it is opening the same custom home page only not able to log on to portal default frame work page.
    My question is how can we connect to the predefined page from the custom home page.
    please share your regarding this scenario...
    regards & Thanks

    Edited by: deepika_indian on Mar 3, 2010 6:05 AM

    hi Experts
    you didnt get my point  i vl give in brief
    1) that at first we are going to enter the portal URL.
    2)we are going give userid and password and click  logon button.
    3)so once we click on that button it should open custom page what we have designed in by using web dynpro java.with in this application we will have next button which should connect to the sap given predefined default desktop page.
    i hope you have got my point.
    and more over where can we get the logon action coding in which par file,if so can you give brief information related to it.
    i changed the themes master rule collection there i have assigned this custom home page ,but when i click on next button it is opening the same custom it is not connecting to the default desktop.i think this is not the write approach.
    please share your knowledge and document also related to it.
    Thanking you
    Deepika.

  • How Does Bapi related to WebDynpro Java

    Hi all,
    I am Very new to WebDynpro. AM working as a java Developer.
    I want to know
    What is Bapi? And How does it related to WebDynpro?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jyothi.

    Hi,
    BAPI:
    Whereas BAPIs (Business API(Application Program Interface)) are used for interfacing between two systems. They are remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
    Function Modules are used in SAP programs to modularze the programs. They are Global ABAP programs created by SAP for reusable purpose. They have IMPORT,EXPORT and TABLE parameters, and EXCEPTIONS to through when error occurs.
    You can create them from TCode SE37.They are similar to Functions we have in C, but with more functionality.
    ECC (Enterprise Control Component):
    Master data will be saved in ECC System only.
    ECC is Standalone and ECC is nothing but a backend system similar to Oracle
    It has two versions: ECC 5.0, ECC 6.0 and Now ECC 7.0 is going to release on coming few months.
    Kernel, support pack and all other tools are very much advance in ecc6.0 compare to any other version of sap. It supports NetWeaver component also like BI, XI and EP. In ECC6.0 all components are integrated in single software.
    Please check this Application. This application relation Between ECC System and WDJAVA.

    Hi Kumar,
    If you are using EP7.0, there is no calendar UI element in webdynpro development. There is only date navigator UI element. This is demonstrated in the below article.
