WebDynpro on Server without Domain

Hallo everybody,
When I'm now calling a WebDynpro (i.e. TC SOAMANAGER, it is activated in SICF for sure), the browser says that the URL does not have a domain name in it.
Is there a way to work with WebDynpro's, without having the SAP-Server in a Windows-Domain?
Perhaps any switches in the profile-file?!
I have a Standalone Windows System.
The SAPLOCALHOSTFULL and the icm/host_name_full params are set to the computer-name only.
My Settings:
NW04s - EHP1
Win x64 EP Server
MSSQL 2008 SP1
Thanks in advanced and kind regards.

I don't think your help link is correct.
Here is what I assume was the intended target:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/67/be9442572e1231e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
It is an article on Fully Qualified Domain Name. ABAP systems required the URL be fully qualified and have a properly formed domain. You can change the profile parameters as suggested in this help link and add an alias to your DNS so that your server is accessible via the full domain name.

  • Installation on server without domain

    Dear All,
our new customer need a simple installation of SBO. He has a new server and  wants to keep it
without domain_underline , out of office LAN, and he asks us to install both SBO server and client software on  this machine.
    Is it possible or not?
This is because I remember that in the past domain is a required issue, but I don't find any
    documentation about for 2007 version.
    Best Regards,

    Hi Giovanni,
It must be a myth to have a domain. There was never a prerequisite to have a domain for SAP Business One installation. A simple network called "workroup" is fine too.
However maintaining a Domain is much simpler than a workgroup, because a new Windows user needs to be added only once to a Domain. After that that user is known within the whole network which belongs to that domain. Having a workgroup you must add a new user at least twice. On the "Workgroup Server" AND on any workstation, otherwise a user might have no access to the folder B1_SHR. In addition you must ensure his password is exactly the same on Server and Workstation. I think everyone agrees that maintaining such an environment becomes cost expensive as more users / workstations are included within the workgroup. That is why I think that most of the customers decide to have a domain.
So far as I understand your customer just wants to have everything installed on 1 single machine. Refer to the Administratorguide SQL in order to install all Server application on that machine. Then the guide reads: "You install the client application on every workstation that needs to run SAP Business One."
Accordingly to the request of the customer you just need to say that the just installed machine is from now his workstation also and follow further description given in the Adminguide for the client installation.
In addition just consider Steffen's posting.

  • Hyper V manager on 2008 R2 connect to 2012 R2 server core hyper V without domain

    Dear all
    I am using Hyper V manager on 2008 R2.
Now I have one 2012 R2 server core hyper V without domain, I want to manage this server core hyper V with Hyper V manager on 2008 R2.
When I add/connect, it display credential wrong. (use command net use drive works)
May I know is it a must to join domain?
    thx
    Q K

You're saying you want to use Hyper-V Manager on 2008R2 to manage 2012R2 Hyper-V, correct? If so, unfortunately this is by design:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/virtual_pc_guy/archive/2012/05/30/the-v2-wmi-namespace-in-hyper-v-on-windows-8.aspx
You'll have to use the built-in tools in Windows 8.1 to manage 2012 R2 Hyper-V remotely. Here's the support matrix:

  • Can i use office web app server without adding to a domain ?

spserver.local is my domain controller webapp.spsserver.local is my office web app server(OWA)(IP:79.123.161.xxx )
I manage to use office web app with sharepoint 2013 my OWA is in a domain (spserver.local) and it's address is http://webapp.spserver.local/hosting/discovery There
is no problem. But I want to seperate OWA with Sharepoint and its domain I want to remove the domain. Is it possible?
For example my OWA's ip is 79.123.161.xxx
I want to work like this: http://79.123.161.xxx/hosting/discovery
When I enter the path http://79.123.161.xxx/hosting/discovery there
is an iis message "File or directory not found."

Are you asking if you can have your OWA in different domain compared to SharePoint server domain or are you asking that your OWA does not belong to any domain and you still want to use it with SharePoint?
If your question is regarding using OWA in different domain then I think (someone can correct me if I am wrong) OWA can run into different domain. You just need to add your SharePoint Server host domain to the Allow List for an Office Web Apps Server farm.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219459.aspx
If your question is related to OWA not belonging to any domain then I do not think that will work and its not supported scenario. If you read the following article it states
"All servers in the Office Web Apps Server farm must be part of a domain. They can be in the same domain (recommended) or in domains that are in the same forest. However, Office Web Apps Server won’t work if you try to install it on a domain controller."

  • Stop managed server without node manager and admin server

What are the commonly used ways to stop managed Weblogic server without node manager running and without administration server running?
(I have only one solution: on the managed server startup dump process ID to a file, and then when I want to stop it, send a signal to this process ID and kill JVM. But it seems not very clean way.)
(The managed server is started when both node manager and admin server are down, and I provide boot.properties of admin server to the managed server to start.)
UPDATED: And I don't want to start neither admin server, nor node manager even temporarily.
    Edited by: user12163080 on Jun 24, 2010 4:40 AM

    Hai,
I read the Oracle weblogic wlst script document without Admin server you cannot connect the managed server through the WLST script. see the below lines
"The start command starts Managed Servers or clusters in a domain using Node Manager.
To use the start command, WLST must be connected to a running Administration Server.
To start Managed Servers without requiring a running Administration Server, use the
nmStart command with WLST connected to Node Manager."
"You shut down a server to which WLST is connected by entering the shutdown command
    without any arguments.
When connected to a Managed Server instance, you only use the shutdown command to shut
down the Managed Server instance to which WLST is connected; you cannot shut down another
server while connected to a Managed Server instance.
WLST uses Node Manager to shut down a Managed Server. When shutting down a Managed
Server, Node Manager must be running.
In the event of an error, the command returns"
They are two option if you are using adminserver then we can stop the any Managed server.
The option is if you are using the nodemanager without admin server we can stop the any Managed server.
The last final solution to kill the particular Managed server pid.

  • Does server have domain functionality?

Will 10.7 server provide windows clients with domain login features?  The help manual makes it sounds like it can, but doesn't actuallly say it.  It also isn't accurate in describing how to verify.  Can someone verify if it will or won't support this?
This is the passage that's confusing me:
You can enable domain login on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer by joining it to an Open Directory Lion Server. Joining the Windows domain requires the name and password of an LDAP directory
    And
To look up the domain name of the server, open Server Admin on the server or an administrator computer, select Open Directory in the Servers list, click Settings, then click General.
    Thanks!

    1) How can I connect to an Oracle server without loading the
Oracle client on the user's workstation. You can easily connect to SQL Server without installing SQL Server Client is because Microsoft is kind enough to include SQL Server client software in their Windows installation (which is MDAC), so you don't have to install it separately.
Unfortunately Oracle Client is not included in Windows installation, so you have to install it separetely. Fortunately Traditional Oracle Client is only needed when you want to use ODP.NET, you can deploy your application using Oracle Instant Client if you are using MS Oracle Provider.
    3) For a given Oracle database/server, how can I enumerate
the schemas available on that server?connect as system, then run this query
select * from all_userswell, 2 & 3b, i don't know the answer, because when we want to connect to Oracle Server we usually have to configure tnsnames.ora.

  • Moving from Novell Zenworks to Windows Server 2008 domain

I am trying to find ways to automate the process of moving between a Novell Zenworks environment to a server 2008 domain. The first problem to my understanding is changing the names of the machines to legal values in our Windows XP Pro Clients. They are currently mostly named, cata_rm#_computer# (where # is a defined value set manually). To my understanding underscore _ is an invalid character for joining a domain so we want to have an automated script that can easily be deployed over the network to basically replace all "_"with "-". Is this necessary or can this issue be handled easier ****her down the road on moving to a windows domain?
We would then like to be able to deliver a payload via zenworks that will cause all of Novell and Zenworks to be removed from the computer and once that is complete add the computer to the new windows domain. Ideally the payload could be easily run from a network share or flash drive as well. Unattended installers may be available for this software suite but we would want to combine the uninstall process with adding the domain so we can move from our poor zenworks domain to a windows domain without ever touching most of our machines.
This is not my project but I am interested in learning how this process could be completed as painlessly as possible hopefully learning something along the way. Anything from links to guides on where to get started looking to more developed solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

None the less the beginning of my problem, removing Novell is a Novell issue. Thankfully I have figured out most of the removal of novell and zenworks already, now just working on fixing the client names and joining the windows AD domain.

  • Shutdown Manged server without Admin

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to Restart Managed servers via NodeManager but without AdminServer.
Using WLST I could start Managedserver using NM. (nmConnect, nmStart).
But for Stopping a Managedserver without Admin. I see the option nmKill. But I dont want to kill the process rather want to do a proper shutdown.
Was looking at few docs in oracle site, which says can shutdown a managedsevr using Node Manager to which it is connected. Means first connect(...) then Shutdown().
BUt is it possible to connect to managed server using WLST when Admin is not Available?
If not above is a possible way to shutdown, resume a managed server without Adminserver.
Weblogic11g is the version I have installed.
    ThankYou,

  • Can i rejoin ny SCVMM 2012 server to domain with same name & IP address?

    Dear all..
I am in situation where i have to rejoin my scvmm server to  domain with same name & ip address.one of the fool admin has deleted my SCVMM's computer object from AD. I have recreated the object & tried to log on but no luck.. i have to rejoin
    the server.
Does it have any risks involved or its just fine?

    Hi,
First the behavior is normal. If an computer accounts is deleted, you cannot continue using the server without rejoining.
SCVMM it's not depending (integration) on active directory in such way as Exchange.
So, if the computer accounts has been deleted, there is no issue in creating a new one and rejoin the server. As long as the application on the server is able to look up any required directory services, it should be happy again.

  • Is it possible to set up ADFS without domain admin rights in Windows 2012 R2?

I've set up Windows 2012 R2 on my development box and want to enable the ADFS feature to test claims based authN. In ADFS 2.0, you could opt to install standalone and local admin privileges would be enough to install ADFS and authenticate against the domain
    AD.
However, with the new ADFS, after installing the feature it asks to enter the credentials for an account that is a domain admin. Is it still possible to configure ADFS without domain admin privileges?

    Hi,
According to my research, if you want to set up AD FS in Windows server 2012 R2, each computer
that functions as a federation server must be joined to an Active Directory domain.
Besides, AD FS requires a certificate for SSL server authentication on each federation server in your federation server farm. Furthermore, you need a membership in
Administrators on the local computer to install the AD FS role service.
For more detailed information, please refer to the links below:

  • Unable to bind MacBook Pro (running 10.6 - Snow Leopard ) to Windows Server 2003 domain

Hi there, I've been working on this problem for a few hours now (and a few hours last Thursday) and don't feel I'm getting anywhere, so I'm reaching out for help....
My organisation has just purchased a new MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6) and as a Technical Support Engineer I have been asked to configure it for an end user.
I am currently trying to join it to our corporate domain, which is a Windows Server 2003 domain operating at the Windows Server 2003 Native domain functional level.
The MacBook is configured to use DHCP, and has been assigned valid IP address, DNS servers etc by the DHCP server. It can resolve all names on our network, including the names of our domain controllers. When I use nslookup to resolve the name of the domain "my_domain.local" it returns a list of DC's on the domain, which would indicate to me that name resolution is working perfectly. It is using our primary DNS server, 'Ponus' to resolve these names - Ponus is also the Domain Controller in this site.
To attempt to join the MacBook to the domain I have created a computer account for it on the domain, in the Computers container. I have gone into System/Library/Core Services and run the Directory Utility.
In the directory Utility I have ticked Active Directory and clicked on it to edit. The 'Forest' field is greyed out and set to 'Automatic', in the 'Domain' field I have entered my_domain.local, which is the FQDN of my domain. I click Bind and when prompted enter my Domain Admin username and password (in the 'Create Computer Account in:' field it displays correctly as CN=Computers,DC=my_domain,DC=local.)
When I click OK I get the message: Invalid domain. An invalid Domain and Forest combination was specified. You should enter a fully qualified DNS name for the domain and forest (e.g., ads.company.com).
I have attempted writing the domain as my_domain.local, my_domain.local., MY_DOMAIN.LOCAL and MY_DOMAIN.LOCAL. but I get the same error each time. I have checked and rechecked DNS is resolving OK, and cannot see why it cannot find the Domain and Forest from the FQDN that I am entering. Even so I tried creating records in the hosts file on the MacBook to point to the main Domain Controller at this site (Ponus) but this didn't change anything.
I have seen a few people report the same issue online but the responses tend to fizzle out before anyone gets to the bottom of it. I have seen some indication that people with an understore (_) in their domain name, or with a .local domain name may experience issues with joining Mac hosts, however these details are very vague and if true there must be a workaround.
If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it, I'm running out of time to complete this work and have run out of things to try.
I have an inkling that this is due to the Mac for some reason not reading the SRV records for the DCs and LDAP in DNS, or to do with the Mac looking only at one SRV record (ie. there is one for a new DC that we haven't deployed yet), not being able to reach this and giving up, but I'm clutching at straws really with my limited knowledge of the Macs process for joining the domain.
    Many many thanks,

    Hi there,
A simple suggestion , please make sure both MacBook Pro clock and the server clock are the same meaning the hour/Min/ sec both should match. A least difference of 3 seconds is fine.
I had faced this problem in many place and only solution was to match the time and it will bind immediatly.
