Webdynpro perspective

After creaing a project in the webdynpro perspective I cant see any folder any dc. I just see
nothing. Why does such a problem occur ?
Regards
erdem

Hi Erdem,
I guess you are trying to sync the DCs from the track. Just make sure that you would get the green colored icon besides your DC after sync itself but you need to right click those DCs and say create project. Once created, you can see that in your WD perspective.

  • Importing JSP in WebDynpro perspective

    Is it possible to import JSP/HTML/BSP in WebDynpro perspective?

    Hi Sowmya,
    It is not possible to import any of the mentioed technologies in to Weddynpro Perspective.
    Web Dynpro provides support for the development of web applications in the form of a declarative programming approach.
    In a Web Dynpro application, every user interface is always made up of the same basic elements, with the exception of the individual interface elements for each application. You declare these elements of the metamodel statically using the Web Dynpro tools. It is also possible to implement elements of the metamodel in programs and integrate them dynamically at runtime. Using these implementations, you can make changes or enhancements to a user interface that has been created by declarative methods by generating new interface structures at runtime. This means that you can combine the declarative procedure with the implementation of source code.
    Concepts of the Web Dynpro programming model ensure high-performance processing of the entire web application, clear separation of presentation and processing logic as well as data retrieval, extensive platform independence of interfaces, and a high level of reusability of programs or parts thereof.

  • There is no webdynpro perspective

    hello,
    i get the Sap Netweaver 7.2  from a friend but i cannot see the Webdynpro perspective in "Window-openPrespective" altough he uses that one and i have the plugins. why thats missing?
    thnx in advance.

    Hello,
    I think that you need to perform an update to your NWDS.
    Go to Help->Software Update->Find and Install then you will need to enter your S-user , and afterwards you will be able to download from SAP all kinds of perspectives and features . You also will be able to chose what you want to download and what not.

    Hello,
    The problem is solved following these steps,
    "NWDS IDE is in SP04 whereas the WebDynpro Runtime is in SP01. So yo have to upgrade your WebDynpro in WebAS to SP04.
    All WebDynpro for Java patches are available on SAP Service Marketplace.Note 330793 explains how to download patches from SAP Service Marketplace. Note 1395865 explains how to find the Web Dynpro for Java related SCAs.
    Update your system via JSPM.

    From WebDynpro perspective, we recommend you to apply both WD-RUNTIME.SCA and FRAMEWORK.SCA. So if any one of the archive is not mentioned in the 'SP Patch Level' tab, it is recommended to apply the same which is available in the service market place."

  • Unable to view Imported DC from NWDI in the webdynpro explorer view

    Hello,
    I am facing problem with NWDS version 2.0.22. we are upgradeing EP04 SPS 14 to sps 22.  When I import a DC project from NWDI from inactive view of development configuration perspective I cannot see the created DC's in Webdynpro Explorer view of webdynpro perspective but it is showing in Navigator view.
    Also when I create Webdynpro Project or Webdynpro DC locally I was able to see it in Webdynpro Explorer view.
    Can any one please tell me why I was not able to view imported Webdynpro DC's that I create from Inactive view of Development Configurations perspective (selected DC in inactive view and right click and create project).
    Also when I compared the Folder structure in the Navigator view of Webdynpro perspective.   I found below folders structure differences.

  • Problem in connecting to database from webdynpro for java

    Hi
    I have a problem in connecting to database from webdynpro application
    I am using oracle 10 express edition as database and was able to connect to database from a java application.But  was unable to connect from a webdynpro for java.
    <b>I guess webdynpro for java uses open sql instead of vendor sql(I looked in the visual admin ,DB is using open sql) so unable to connect to database.Am i right.?</b>
    Do i need to make any settings in the visual admin to make it work?
    How to solve this problem.Please give me pointers
    Thanks
    Bala

    Hi,
    For connecting to Oracle, either you can use the normal JDBC connectivty code directly which is given below :
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");
    In case you want to fetch data through ejbs, these are the steps to be followed :
    1) Open the J2EE perspective
    2) Create an EJB Module project
    3) Right click on ejbModule, create a new EJB (select your EJB type)
    4) While creating the ejb itself, you can add business methods by clicking ‘Next’ in the UI. Another option is after creating the ejb, write the method in the bean, then select the method from ejb-jar.xml -> <bean name> ->method. Right click and select ‘propogate to local & remote’.
    5) Double click on ejb-j2ee-engine.xml. select your bean and specify a Jndi name for eg: “MyJndi”.
    6) Right click on the EJB project and add ‘classes12.zip’ file (provided by Oracle) to it’s build path. (under libraries tab). Also check the same file under ‘Order & Export’.
    7) Create an Enterprise Application project.
    8) Right click on the EJB module project and select add to EAR project, then select the created EAR project.
    9) Right click on the EJB project, select ‘Build EJB Archive’
    10) Right click on the EAR project, select ‘Build Application Archive’
    11) Open the WebDynpro perspective, open a new project, right click on the project ->properties. Do the following configurations :-
    • Java Build path - select the EJB project from ‘projects’ , check the selected project under ‘Order & Export’
    • Project references – select the EAR project
    • WebDynpro references – select ‘sharing references’ tab, click add & make an entry as : <vendor>/<EAR project name without .ear extension>
    You can find the vendor name under ‘application-j2ee-engine.xml’ file of the EAR project. By default it is ‘sap.com’. So if my EAR project’s name is ABC, my entry would look like ‘sap.com/ABC’
    12) Now the configurations are over and the EJB can be invoked by writing the client code inside the webdynpro component. Like:
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
    Object obj = context.lookup("MyJndi");
    MyEJBHome home = MyEJBHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj,MyEJBHome.class);
    MyEJB mybean = home.create();
    int a = 0;
    a= mybean.add(10,15);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setSum(a);
    where ‘MyEJB’ is my EJB name and ‘MyJndi’ is my JNDI name
    To connect to Oracle , you can write the usual Java code (given below) as a business methos of the ejb (similar to add() method in the example). And access it like mybean.<businessMethodName>().
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");

  • Help in importing WebDynpro application to NWDS.

    Hi,
    I need to customise an iview. These are the information i have -
    1.  platform of this ivew is WDJ.
    2. got codelink of the iview -com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.webdynpro
    3. got the corresponding par file.
    4. In the business package document, it says a folder name as the data source of this iview. i traced the folder of it.
    now how do i move forward?
    1. When i imported the par file, it opened in the package explorer as a portal application project, but could not find any source code. How do i open it in WebDynpro perspective?
    2. how do i import all these (data source + par file) into NWDS so that i can view the code in the WebDynpro perspective...
    I am already tired of searching the entire SDN.  Can some one help out to explain the steps in simple terms for me to move forward. I am in the process of learning this (portal customisation through WebDynpro Java).. kindly help :).
    I am just trying out in the test system.hence decided not to use JDI.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Anto.

    Hi Antony,
    As you mentioned WebDynpro application then there should be .EAR file not .PAR
    and the procedure i gave you earlier is not applicable for .PAR (Portal Archieve)
    for this please follow the following method.
    if you want to test the application directly, login in to the portal and navigate to system administrator -> support -> portal runtime -> administration console and import the .par file and then create a new iview in portal content and select par file name and you can see the application.
    if you want to see the code, import the .par file in EP Perspective and if it is a JSP Dynpro application, you can find the code in <b>\dist\PORTAL-INF\pagelet</b> folder.
    Also <b>you can not see the PAR in WebDynpro perspective</b> you can only open it in EP Perspective.
    hope now i got the right procedure for you. As per your Subject line, i quickly posted you the procedure to import webdynpro application to NWDS but in your case you are dealing with portal project.

  • WebDynPro Newb question

    Hey All,
    I need to begin working with WebDynPro. I have a couple of Newb questions:
    1) I need to jump right in fairly quickly, so can anyone suggest any good documentation that could help me get the basics down about working with WebDynPro?
    2) I loaded a Sample WebDynPro project into NetWeaverDev Studio, but I am unable to export this to our instance of EP on our Development Server. For a .par file its easy to do exports, but I can't for the life of me find where i go in NetWeaverDev Studio to do an export of a WebDynPro project. When I goto export in the WebDynPro perspective, it appears to only want to allow me to export locally, but I need to push to a different server. Can anyone help me with this?
    I appreciate any advice and suggestions. Thanks All!!
    Take care,
    -Kevin

    Hey Rich,
    I have the Engine setup, but I do not get prompted for the SDM password, do I need to configure that somewhere? I get the following error when trying to deploy:

  • SAP Netweaver Developer Studio WebDynpro

    Hi all,
    Could anyone you please tell me whether we have to Purchase WebDynpro or we can download it from http://service.sap.com/webdynpro.
    As we have SAP Netweaver Developer Studio.
    Thankx in advance,
    Shakthi

    Hi Shakthi,
                Further to Divakar's points,
    After you download & install Netweaver Developer Studio from http://service.sap.com for free,
    you have to open the studio.
    goto windows -> open perspective -> select Webdynpro from the list of preferences available.
    it will open the Webdynpro perspective.Then create your Webdynpro project and deploy it.
    for deploying goto window -> prefernces -> sap J2EE engine -> give your WebAS server name or server ip address here.Default message port is 3601.
    Deploy your webdynpro applications and provide your SDM password each first time you open your Studio and then run your applications.
    Enjoy ur programming.
    hope it helps.

  • Problem with Mappings in the new Version of NWDS

    Hello all,
    i have a process which created in the NWDS (Version: SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.1 SP00 PAT0000) checked in the CVS.
    Now i have the process checked out of the CVS in the new Version of NWDS (Version: SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.1 SP01 PAT0003).
    The process contains a automated activity and on the output mapping from the webservice is now n error. The Error: "Expected 'com.sap.dictionary.string,ns=.... Found list of 'char10,ns=..." I´ve changed nothing and the input mapping and the other mappings are all right. I checked out again the same process in the "old" Version of NWDS and it works fine.
    Knows somebody how i can "import" n process from an older Version of NWDS into the new Version?
    Kind regards,
    Bastian

    Hi Bastian,
                   The problem you are facing is a trivial problem. You need not worry about the importing the whole development component again. Rather your mapping error can be removed by changing the context in webdynpro perspective easily.
    Your error is telling that the automated activity requires a string paramenter and what it has found is a list of parameters.
    What this means is in the Webdynpro context, the mapping which you have done has problems.
    The webservice input requires a singleton parameter. If you look into the mapping view, you will notice a single icon for the node which you are mapping.
    And what you are sending is a list (not a singletion node)
    If you see from the left side from where the parameters is coming in you will notice multiple icons (stack on top of each other) representing non singleton nodes ie cardinatlity is 0...n or 1..n)
    So to remove the problem just go to component controller of the view and change the context setting
    Colletion cardinality of 0..1 or 1..1 and selection cardinality to 0..1 or 1..1 of the node.
    Thnks

  • Error while building the DC and deploying it.

    Hi,
    I have done all the while Post Installation Steps of Usage Type DI.
    The SAP Link followed was :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/45/68d64260752a78e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    This is first time, I am configuring SAP NEWDI.
    The server installed is: sap.com/SAP-JEECOR  7.01 SP4 (1000.7.01.4.0.20090417015900
    which looks SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 SP4.
    The DB installed is: DB2/NT64 (SQL09050)
    The Java Virtual Machine details in the server is:
    VM  system properties...
    Name:  Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM
    Vendor:  Sun Microsystems Inc.
    Version:  1.4.2_21-b03
    Now, I also installed SAP NWDS 7.01.04 which is SAP NWDS 7.0 EHP1 SP4, I think.
    I did some mistakes while doing Post DI Steps.
    The track and sc can be successfully imported to SAP NWDS
    and I am able to build dcs on that sc.
    Now, while doing the step build from Java WebDynpro perspective,

    Now some points I need to tell about the NWDI:
    In the , Post Installation Steps of Usage Type DI:
    I need some points to be clarified in:
    Preparing the System Landscape Directory.
    1. Activate the SLD Server
    While doing this step,
          1.      Open the SLD Web UI under the URL http://<server>:<port>/sld.
           2.      Open the initial page of the SLD Web UI and log on as an administrator.
           3.      On the initial page, choose Administration and in the section Server u00AE Profile.
    The system displays the Parameters screen.
           4.      ChooseSection u00AEServer Settings.
           5.      Enter a reserved SAP NetWeaver namespace in the input field Object Server. Keep the preset working directory in the input field Working Directory. Select the values for persistency and write protection. Save your entries.
    The object server name was localhost. I think this needed to be changed to the FQDN
    of the server were the J2EE Engine is running say hclprd09.hcltech.com (or it would be the SID of the J2EE Server, that is DJ1).
    The other values are now set to:
    Persistence Type: Database
    Working Directory: E:\usr\sap\DJ1\SYS\global\sld
    Write Protection: None
    Then the next step is:
    Import the SAP Master Component Information.
      1.      On the SLD initial page, choose Administration and in the section Content u00AE Import.
           2.      Choose Import CR Content (this switch appears only before the content import has been executed once. By default, this is a step during installation).
    The SLD server starts the import of the SAP Master Component Information. This process can take some time.
    For this we have to use the file:
    F:\usr\sap\DJ1\SYS\global\sld\model\CR_Content.zip
    Is this step mandatory?
    If I do the step will I have to recreate the users, roles, worksets and iviews again.
    As some developments are already there.
    So, importing the CR_Content.zip will overwrite or destroy all those roles, iviews etc.
    Now, also in giving the name prefix for the development component for user kaba
    has been given by me as sap.com.*
    I think this is wrong as the DC is produced by my company and not by SAP.
    Then I followed all other steps as written.
    Give me your suggestions where I might be wrong.
    Regards
    Kaushik

    Hi Neha,
    Yes, till now; you are right.
    The Product and sc has been created in
    http://<host name>:<port>/devinf
    The steps followed are written below:
    1> Now Click on System Landscape Directory and create Product.
    2> After entering Name, Vendor and Version for Product. Click on Create..
    3> Product is created now it will ask for name of Software Unit.
    4> Specify name and click on Create.
    S/w Unit is created now it will ask inputs for S/w Components.
    Provide all the necessary inputs for S/w Components and keep Production State as released.
    Click on create.
    Now select your Software Component and click on the Dependencies tab in the lower half of screen.
    Select Build Time as Context and click on Define Prerequisite Software Components Versions
    Now on next page search for three basic dependencies those are.
    SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00
    DI BUILD TOOL 7.00
    SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
    This is screen shot for SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
    Repeat the same process for the other two steps also search word will be *DI* for DI BUILD TOOL 7.0
    *SAP J2e* for SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
    Domain Configuration and Track Creation
    Now navigate to Landscape Configurator and click on Domain Data.
    Enter all the required inputs in the screen below Click on Save and Update CMS.
    Update CMS is very important step do not forget it.
    Now click on Track Data and click on New.
    Enter all the required inputs in the screen below
    On the next page, search for your Software Component and click on ADD.
    Click on Runtime Tab on the Top and Select System as per your requirement.
    Enter the required Inputs and click on Save.
    Now click on Transport Studio on top and select Check In now select all three Dependencies and click on Check In Button.
    Now Click on Development Tab on top and Select All 3 Dependencies and Click on Import
    Look at the status now it should say Import finished.
    Your track is now created, configured & ready to use for development component in NWDS.
    But mistake,
    I should have added
    SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00
    DI BUILD TOOL 7.00
    SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
    Also, I removed prequisite software dependicies from SAP J2EE ENGINE.
    Now what to do?
    Do I need to import CIM Model Data?
    Would it help?
    Regards
    Kaushik
