  • NWDS 7.0 Error during Quick PAR Upload and while trying Exporting PAR-File

    Hello,
I am trying to use the functions "Export as PAR-File" and "Quick PAR Upload" in NWDS 7.0.
Unfortunately I got an error every time when I am trying to use this functions. I am using the package explorer in the Java perspectiv in NWDS for starting this functions. The error tells me the following:
"Unable to connect to the Portal"
"Operation failed: Please make sure the server "XY" is running or check the log (sap-plugin.log) for more detail"
    Thats all.
When I am looking in the log-file I can read the following messages:
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: GET_VIEW:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: IS_VIEW_EXISTS:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: SIZE_OF_VIEW:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: READ_ENTRY:ALL]"
    LOGIN.ERROR|null|| Login Method=[default] UserID=[user_Admin] IP Address=[192.168.xxx] Reason=[Cannot authenticate the user]
I have tried this with several users and their passwords. All of the users have admin-rights at least in the portal. One of them even in the SDM.
I can sucessfully deploy webdynpros from NWDS into the same Portal with this users.
We are using SAP Logon Tickets and SSO is configured working fine between Portal and backend.
We have imported Key Store File in NWDS unter Window --> Preferences --> Java Development Infrastructure.
And we are not using the NWDI.
Who knows why I cannot even export par-files? Are their any configurations missing?
    Best regards,
    Iris

    It is mentioning about authentication.
check whether you have access to deploy directly or not ? maybe direct deployment into portal disabled .
I think you have to follow the procedure of checkout and activate procedure.
    Can you clarify few things
    1) Are you using NWDI Based Transports in your landscape?
    Login Method=default UserID=user_Admin IP Address=http://192.168.xxx Reason=Cannot authenticate the user
http://192.168.xxx  is it your development portal?
Did you clarify with admin people whether direct deployment disabled?

  • Error deploying PAR file from Developer Studio (NW04)

    Hello,
i've got a problem while trying to deploy a PAR file from NW Developer Studio.
    The PAR Export function says
"Unable to connect to the Portal",
the portal itself gives the following response:
"ERROR: Upload failed - exception caught: com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Invalid content type submitted - no multipart data"
Deploying the PAR file manually using the Administration Console (system administration tab) of the portal works fine, but why doesn't the PAR Export function of NWDS?
Thanks in advance for any help!
    Regards,
    Jörg

    Hi Jörg,
as a general advise, use the NWDS version corresponding to the Servers version, so in this case, upgrade (or better: install new) NWDS 2.0.14. The main reason is WebDynpro compatibility, but the deploy mechanism may need this too.
At least, give it a try and report if you have success (or not).
    Hope it helps

  • How to create a PAR file from EAR file

    Hi,
I have created an Web Dynpro Application . When i deploy it in Remote J2EE Engine, it will deploy as EAR file. It then runs as normal Web Application in Web browser. My requirement is to create an iView for my Web dynpro appn in EP. That is possible only by creating a PAR file. so How to create an PAR file from EAR in NWDS(NetWeaver Developer Studio).
How to access the EAR file in NWDS or J2EE ?
    Thanks in Advance ,
    By
    Saravanan

    Hi,
    To create a iview,
log on to portal, New iView and select SAP webdynpro iview.
It will ask for namespace which is usually , local/Project Name
and application name is the name of the application.
We dont have to create par file for this requirement

  • Importing . PAR file from portal to Netweaver Developer Studio.....

    Hello all,
When I Deploy the BP of MSS on Portal, I got one standard Webdynpro application which has some functionality. Now I want to customize this application hence I have imported the par file for this Application in NWDS, But in NWDS this file creates a project which has files with .EPA extension & nothing else . No contents in Portal-inf folder & dist folder.
I am not able to find how can i change the functionality of that application ???
In short I want to customize the WebDynpro application in NWDS, but not getting code familier , how should i proceed ??
    thanks,
    Smita

    Hi,
First of all, u have not imported par file. U have imported the epa file. That is why u don't get files in portal-inf folder. Webdynpro applications are available as ear file which can't b imported into NWDS. So I don't think u can get that application for customization into NWDS.

  • Tracks for WD par files and VC applications

    Hello Gurus,
Could anybody please throw some light on the tracks for Webdynpro par files and visual composer applications?
I need to know if we need separate tracks for Webdynpro par files and Visual composer applications on the NWDI. Can we use one track for the development of Webdynpro and VC applications or do we need separate tracks for these developments? What is the best practice?
Appreciate much for your help in this regard..
    Regards,
    ~~LB

    Hi Leena,
In general SAP recommends to create a seperate tracks for differnet applications. based on your requirement you need to think of whether to go for single or multiple tracks.

  • "Expected entry PORTAL-INF/portalapp.xml in .par file."

    Hi,
On my SP9 system that has no portal, when I want to <i>Run</i> a WebDynpro App, I do now get the error message "Expected entry PORTAL-INF/portalapp.xml in .par file."
Upon <i>Deploy new Archive and Run</i>, the *.ear file is made as expected, but basically the same error appears on application start.
    Any ideas?
    Walter

    Hi Walter,
Please make sure to do "CreateArchive" before deploying.
    "CreateArchive" will create portalapp.xml.
Please check weather its creating the portalapp.xml in gen_wdp folder ?
Could be problem with the plugins that you have on your machine.

  • Importing a .par file

    Hi all,
Can anyone explain in detail How to import a .par file into nwds webdynpro perspective and how can i upload/export it to PCD after commiting changes.
The proper answer will be awarded with 10 points
    Thanks and Regards
    sam

    HI,
    Open NWDS,
    Go to File->Import
    Select PAR file
It will say create a portal application using a par file..
After you do all your changes..
You can deploy the par file on the j2ee engine(WAS) on which your portal is present..
For this you need to configure the j2ee engine.
    Go to Windows-> preferences
    Select SAP j2ee engine.
Now there are two options here.
Select the option you want depending on whether you are working on the server machine or some remote machine.
    Fill in the details accordingly.
    Click on apply.
Now when you deploy the par file you can see this on your portal if you create a iview from a par file..
    Hope it helps

  • EP7 TeamViewer updating EP6 par files

    EP7
    ESS/MSS 600
    ECC6
    Is this possible?
How can I get my EP7 WebDynpro Employee Search updating my EP6 par files?

    Hi Samuli,
thx for your reply.  Unfortunately this note does not relate to my issue ... perhaps I should have explained a little more clearly.
We are currently upgrading from EP6 to EP7.  So we have a bunch of EP6 par file iViews that we are still going to use.  Some of those iViews will need to be mixed in with the EP7 WebDynpro iViews.  Once of these combinations uses the EP7 WebDynpro Employee Search/Teamviewer and an EP6 par file iView.  How do I get these pieces to talk to one another?
    thx

  • How to run 4.6C MSS PAR files in ECC?

    Hi,
Is there a way,  to run the MSS Applications delivered as PAR Files which works with stand alone ITS, to the Integrated ITS of ECC?
Please guide me to this, else we have to re-develop all those applications. Client is NOT accepting the WebDynpro Java based ESS-MSS Standard Applications. They want the ame functionality and look and feel in the WDJ Version. It's a time consuming, so want to run those application as it is, to run with the ECC.
    Thanks & Regards,
    AShok Kumar M.

    Hi Shankar,
    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, you are right. I tried to deploy the PAR files in the new portal which connects to ECC 6.0. I have resolved all the Errors. I managed the same name given in the PAR files for the System name, in the System Aliases of the System Object which connects to ECC.
I have entered the ITS Parammeters also. I am able to connect and run the SAP Transaction iViews also. But I am not able to run the PAR file applications. It is giving Error that, "Could not connect to R/3 System".
Please let me know, what ITS Path I have to maintain to make these PAR files working? I saw in the old system Object which connects to Standalone ITS, the ITS Path maintained is, /scrips/wgate
I want to know what parameter I have to maintain for ITS in the new Portal System Object which connects to the ECC System.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashok Kumar M.

  • Converting .ear file to .par file

    Hi all,
I created an view in webdynpro. I want to change that .ear file
to .par file .can any body give me suggesion regarding this.
    Thanks
    Prasad

In NW04 you should perform all deployment through the SDM.
SDM cannot deploy PAR files, and neither EPA.
It can deploy single SDA (Software Development Archive) or an SCA (Software Component Archive) which consists of one or more SDAs. EAR files are considered as a valid SDA.
SDAs are considered "development". If you are creating a full application, the finished product should be archived in an SCA and not as a mumbojumbo of EAR, PAR, EPA or whatever.
As of NW04 EPA files should not have PAR files inside. So in order for you to create a complete businees packaged that works and easy to deploy - pack it all into an SCA. If your whole application is a single PAR file, then I guess, you don't have to go into all this trouble. But using SDM is highly advisable and one day will probably be a must.
EPA (Enterprise Portal Archive) are the "complete" Business Package you create (if you are...)
    Hope I helped shed light...
