WebElements with SAP BW Query

Hi,
I am trying to use WebElements with SAP BW Query. I need to pass few variables including date. The date variable on SAP side is a standard SAP object that starts with 0. Seems like WebElements is not recognising it, if I use SAP customer defined variable starts with Z then it works fine with Webelements.
Is there is a way to use SAP standards objects in Webelements?

hello,
you could be experiencing an issue with opendocument and the sap integration kit.
let us know what happens when you do this:
A
1) change the numeric webuilder parameter to 3 (where 3 gives you an alert box showing the opendocument url that is being created)
2) write down the url
3) paste the url into a new browser window...
do you still get the same error / issue?
B
1) on your report right click on any object and go to Format > Hyperlink and then use the enterprise hyperlink wizard to create a hyperlink to the same target report
2) ensure that in the hyperlink wizard that you include a default value to all of the parameter values in the target report
3) save the report in your enterprise environment and try the hyperlink out
do you still get the same error / issue?

Hi SAP Guru,
In one customer, we want integrate SAP BI 7.0 on Business Objects XI R2 SP2 ( Full Control Right ) to delivery dedicated reports to target users ( Scheduling )
We strart with a simple query that it works fine on Bex..
The integration Kit for SAP was installed on BO server and transports on SAP BW Server (based on Thread of Ingo).
For scheduling, I create a Business View based on my BW query and I create my crystal report. Everything work fine, when I launch my report localy on my desktop.
The problem arrives when I want schedule my report on the CMC or in infoview. I received a error message :
Failed to open the connection. D:ApplBusiness ObjectsBusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5DataprocSched - system - ~tmp148860c59ff44c6.rpt
I try to schedule a report without Business View but I receive the same message.
Questions :
1 ) Is the Integation Kit for SAP is enable for this environement ( SAP BI 7.0 and BO XI R2 SP2 ) ?
2) Have you any suggestion of resolution for my problem ?

Any chance to upgrade? There is already SP6 available for XI R2.
--> We project to migrate to R3.1 this year but we want to show report earlier ( if it's possible on R2 of course ).

Performance Issue with Webi report uses SAP BI Query as the data source

Hello.
I have created a Webi ad-hoc report which connects to a SAP BI query through BO OLAP universe.
The layout of Webi is the exactly the same as the BI query. There are filters in the Webi to restrict the number of data extraction, but even with data result of 5000 rows, it took about 30 seconds.
If I execute the BI query with the same filter restriction, it tooks less than 10 seconds.
It seems that large percentage of time is consumed at the MDX part.
Is there any tuning method that could speed up the process time of MDX?

please take a look here:

It includes references to various performance improvements of the MDX interface. From what I saw there it is advisable to upgrade your SAP BI (7.0) up to at least Support Package 21 (you are currently on SP 15).
This may also be interesting for you: There is a new Fix Pack 1.4 coming out for BOBJ XI 3.1. Combined with the related SAP Enh.Pack (not sure about the version of this one) should also improve WebI performance. This fix pack is not yet officially released though but it should not take look.
I recommend that you try the upgrade to Support Package 21 first.
BTW it is also advisable to take a look in the results of your MDX query (e.g using the MDXTEST transaction). You should make sure that your query is indeed restricted as expected. Sometimes the results you see in SAP native reporting tools (e.g. BEx Analyzer) differ from those returned from the MDX component, depending on the way variables/restrictions where defined in the query designer. It is all about making sure that there is no apples/oranges comparison here.

Unable to use SSO with universe connection on top of SAP BW query

Hi,
We're creating a universe on top of a SAP BW query by using universe designer.
We logon to universe designer by using SAP credential.
When creating the connection, we set the option "Use Single Sign On when refreshing reports at view time" in order to logon to BW server. But when clicking next, an error arises:
"DBD: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data"
The strange thing on this is that there is one laptop which is able to set up this kind of connection, while all other workstations are not able to set it because they recieve that error (we all work against the same BO server). So this looks like an installation issue.
We reinstalled SAP Integration Solutions on those workstations, but problem is still the same.
I found thread: Universe Connection Authentication on SAP BW which talks about the same issue, but solution involves uninstalling Xcelsius. But we do need Xcelsius!
Any suggestions?

Combine two reports in query designer using key figure with sap exit

Hi experts,
i want to combine two reports in query designer using key figure with sap exit
in the report 1 key figure calculation based on the open on key date(0P_DATE_OPEN)
to calculate due and not due in two columns
in report 2 key figure calculate in the time zones using given in variable Grid Width (0DPM_BV0) like due in 1 to 30 days, 31 to 60 days...the due amount based on the open on key date(0P_DATE_OPEN)
to calculate in 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, 91-120, 121-150 and >150 days in 6 columns
now i have requirement like this
not due, 1-30, 31-60, >60, due,1-30, 31-60, >60 in 8 columns
or

Performance Problems by using a subreport with a SAP BW Query

Hello Experts,
we have the following scenario:
- Crystal Reports Report (CRR) on top of a SAP BW Query
- SAP BW Query contains a member structure with Month, Year, Prior Year and total
If I now put some details of a dataset in the main report (e.g. key is project number) and the structure and the characteristic structure in a subreport (linked e.g. by the key project number), the CRR takes like 7,5 hours to display completely. If I don´t use a subreport it takes less then 10 minutes to display (in the preview section of Crystal Reports).
Is such a significant difference in run time normal ? I have to mention that the used query is quite complex (but this is unavoidable). And it seems also unavoidable to use the subreport to get the desired result in terms of formatting:
- if I don´t use the subreport and more than one characteristic for the details, the structure which is supposed to display the values for each projects like this

Prior Year
Total
gets 'dissolved' - first, Month is listed for each project, than Year is listed for each project, etc. This is only avoidable if use only one characteristic and its attributes, but no other characteristics (that are no attribute to the first one). But of course this is not what the customer wants...
- so my only solution up to now is to list the desired details in the main report and then next to them the structure and the key figure data in the subreport, so that the structure is listed as in the query - but then as mentioned the performance is awful !

Have you tried using a join in the main report rather than using the subreport linked on the Project Key Code.
Try joining the query in the main report with the query in the subreport as a single query in the main report.

Crystal reports 2013 , SAP MDX Driver not able to connect with BW BEX Query

Hi All,
We just installed Crystal 2013, and want to create crystal report on SAP BW CUBE/BEX Query through SAP MDX Driver.
1.When start connecting through SAP MDX Query option from new connection , SAP Systems which are in SAPLOGON are not appearing in initial screen. where as from OLAP Connection we are able to connect to SAP BEX Query.
2.Even from SAP Tool kit we are not able to connect to BEX query, we are getting ERROR MESSAGE.
and we are using SAP BI BO PLATFORM 4.1 sp01 .
Please suggest me , if I am missing any configuration settings.

Hi Joseph,
Before you start building the report, make sure the right transports have been loaded on the SAP System. The right Transport files are the ones found inside the installation zip you download from SAP's server. They're under the "Collaterals\Add-Ons\SAP\Transports" folder.

To resolve your first issue, please follow the steps from this thread:

P.S: Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.1 does a better job at handling BEx queries that the CR 2013 designer. It directly connects to BEx queries via the BICS connectivity driver and doesn't need the Transports to be there on the SAP System. You might want to give this flavour of CR a try too.

Problem with a SAP BW Query and Webi

Hi all,
Does anybody knows the reason why when using webi to access a SAP BW query that prompts the user for
a date, it gives an error on the format? It seems the lov is not being populated correctly. If I write
manually the value the prompt expects, it works, but if you select one of the values of the list it doesn't.
The version is XIR2 and if you create a simple query everything seems to work fine.
Any idea?
I don't know if there is something to do with language parameters or something like that.

I will try to send you a screenshot, but I cannot do it at the moment because I am not at the customer site.
I'll try to explain what we get when we running the webi report.
The lov to select from retrievs data like "K41002008" that is supposed to be a date, but if you select this value the report fails. Instead of
selecting the value, if I manually write for instance "01/01/2008", the report works fine.
I don't know if this is useful.
Once I have more info to send, I'll do it right away.

I am having a problem with SAP query
Execution of SAP query transaction is leading to Dump
the dump says Field 'R01' contains no fields, syntax check on the program shows same error.
When I tried regenerating the Query in SQ01
" Query Specification cannot be use to generate list
Ranked list contains only numeric fields

I am not sure what business process you are describing here - is it some kind of third-party sales order? If so, your join is wrong.
From VB E P, firled BANFN and BNFPO you can go to table EBAN, where in field EBELN you will find the number of the purchase order (if somebody already had an MRP+Me58 run over the PR) which will lead you to table EKKO, and EKPO.
So what we have here (essentially is):
VBAK -> VBAP -> VBEP -> EBAN -> EKKO -> EKPO
But that only solves one of your problems - you still have a long way to go to get invoices, partner and partner roles into there and I am beginning to ask myself what exactly it is you want to evaluate.

Error on accessing SAP BW query with Crystal Reports 2008: Kein Fehler

Hi,
I want to create a Crystal 2008 report with SAP BW data.
The query is set to allow external access and using the BW toolbar in Crystal, I can connect to the SAP BW system and select the query. But then the following message appears:
Fehler bei der Erstellung einer neuen Berichtsvorlage.
Kein Fehler.
COM exception caught in CExtToolBar::InitializeGlobalData(). HR = 0x0388bb27
The message is always in German, no matter if I'm logged on in English.
What's wrong? Do I have to install something else? Is something missing?

Join SAP BW Query with SAP BW Table

Hello guys,
we would´need to join a SAP BW Query with information of an SAP BW Table like it is explained in the following example:
The result of the query is:
ID         Quantity    Revenue
4711    10              20
4713    20              40
4714    30              30
The table will look like this:
ID         Category
4711    A
4712    B
4713    C
4714    A
The result should be:
ID        Category    Quantity    Revenue
4711    A               10              20
4713    C               20              40
4714    A               30              30
We would like to use the current SAP Business Objects 4.0 or 3.1 environment.
Is it possible to join these data sources in the universe Designer or in Crystal reports?

Hello Markus,
the Information Design Tool is able to create a relational Universe on top of InfoProvider which will show the tables from the cube, but the Information Design Tool in the current release is not able to show the tables from the ERP system.

Crystal Report 2008 V1 SP3 and SAP Integration Kits 3.1 SP3 installed on my client machine.
I can open SAP BW Query in Crystal Report. However, in the Field Explorer >Database Fields, I dont see to be able to expan the Query and see it Key Figure/Characteristic.
I noticed this happen only if we have Variable defined in the Charactics.
If the characteristic has no variable, then I can expand the Query under Database Fields.
Do you have this problem?

Yes, once I have imported the new SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP3 transports into BW system, I can now expand the it.
I can now see the Variable in Crystal Report.

User license query while integrating with SAP HR system

One of our clients wants to develop web based employee self service applications (web enabled modules) on their existing SAP HR suite.
Currently they are on SAP HR , ECC 5.0
Would they need to buy extra licenses for integration with the existing system or can the existing licenses be used concurrently?
I am not sure where to look for this piece of information. In case this question is inappropriate to this forum my apologies for the same.

Log on to Infoview with SAP authentication

Please can some one provide me documentation , to configure , Infoview with SAP authentication .
I have R/3 system where i have a datasource and then one Remote cube in BW . On the cube developed a BEx Query . I want to log into Infoview using SAP authentication .Now, i am able to login into Infoview using Enterprise as authentication .

Error While Run the WebI Report on SAP BW Query

I have build the universe on SAP BW Query . I built the same universe on the SAP BW DEV and SAP BW Test
When I tried to run the WEBI Report on the Universe which is built on the SAP BW Test
WebI Report is prompting for the below values
Calendar Year
Profit Center
Profit Center Hierarchy
Version.
Here I can see the List of values for the Calendar Year and Profit Center. Its giving me below error when I look for list of values for the Profit Center and Profit Center Hierarchy.

My Questions:
1.     Why I am getting this error. Because of authentication or configurations set on the Profit Center and Profit Center Hierarchy objects? If so , please let me know what I need to set?
When I tried to run the same WEBI Report on universe which build on SAP BW Dev Query. I can see list of values for the Calendar Year, Version, Profit Center, Profit Center Hierarchy.
But when I selected the values and tried to run the report. I got below error.

     Yes, BI Query is working fine in the Test System and I can see all the variables too
In BI Query I can see values for Calendar Year, Version, Profit Center, Profit Center Hierarchy

- do you see values in the Web Intelligence prompts when you run the report ?
   No,
   I can only see values for the Calendar Year & Version in the Web Intelligence Prompt.
When I try to see values for the Profit Center & Profit Center Hierarchy in the Web Intelligence Prompt, its showing below error.
