WebEngine post processing after Export

Is it possible to have a webengine post export processing (like a trigger to a function in webengine script galleryInfo.lrweb) after the successful Export step?
I would like to do some script file copy to the album exported folder based on user selection.

If the images are smaller then you must have set something in the resize options in the export module. What are your export settings?

  • Formatting / Post Processing of Exported Excel Sheet

    Hi ,
    Issue:
The Columns in the Excel Sheet are not fully visible when we export Report from CR viewer  to Excel Sheet. So we had planned for Post processing of the Excel Sheet using VBA or .NET etc to format the Excel Sheet, which would be on the server side, meaning the End user will never see the formatting process, but only the End Report. Is it possible to achieve this ??
    NOTE:
    1) VBA or .NET could not be run on the Linux Server but we could take advantage of the windows server in the presentation layer.
    Architecture:
    Presentation Layer
Linux Server <--> Windows .Net Server <--
    > End User
    {Crystal RAS Server} <-->{GUI CR Viewer Application}<--
    >
    Our Proposed Solution:
    1) Create an GUI Application that has CR viewer in it .
    2) Create a Separate Excel Export button on the webpage.
    3) when the user wants to export the report , he clicks the button.
    4) The GUI/ application saves the Exported Excel Sheet from the Ras server to the windows server.
    5) Then the .Net or the Vba code is applied to process/Format the Excel Sheet.
    6) When complete the End user is prompted for saving the report to a local disk.
    My questions:
    1) Can this be achieved ?
    2) what would be the best way to handle this ?
    3) what should be the process flow ?
    4) what are the things to be considered while planning for such a design ?
    Regards,
    Ramkumar Govindasamy

So you're looking at using RAS .NET SDK on the Application Layer to export a Crystal Report to Excel, save to temp file on the Application Layer machine, process that temp file, and stream that back out to the client web browser.
    Considerations:
    1. You need to create your own custom UI button to trigger the process, since the .NET Web Forms Crystal Reports viewer won't have the hooks to customize the Excel export.
    2. Running Excel VBA from your Web App may be problematic - you'd have to be particularly careful if the system is under load, since the Excel VBA - COM-Interop isn't necessarily designed for high throughput.  Under high load, you may get file locking or COM-Interop layer just refuse to process.  It's pretty common to try and catch exceptions and retry if you encounter this.
You'd likely not find anyone here familiar with 2 above, but 1 is fairly common.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Post-processing in Export

Our little group of 4 LR users (all on LR 2.4 and XP or Vista 32) has a puzzle. On selecting Export we all have the expected item, but for two of us it stops at "Metadata" - there is no sign of the bottom item, "Post-Processing", which the other two have. Any suggestions before I suggest a re-install?

THe two computers with an incomplete list are configured to export to CD/DVD. If you switch them back to Disk using the drop down menu Post Processing will return.

  • Post processing after system copy from standalone to cluster enviornment

    Hi,
I have done a system copy(Backup restore method) from a standalone quality BW (QBW) system to cluster environment (TBW).
The steps I have followed as follows.
. setup the machines in the cluster environment  ( Windows 2003 EE server, sql 2005 SP3)
. Backup the current database in the source system
. Given a different SID (TBW) during the System copy installation .its a dual stack installation.
. Restore the database in the target system and select the back up restore method during the system copy database installation step.
.The installation completed successfully and i m having some doubts regarding the post processing steps after this .
We want to retain the same client in the target system ,for this i need to rename the  logical name .Kindly assist me for changing the logical name for the extraction of BW delta process from extraction server to BW system and also the other steps I have to follow after system copy.
    Thanks

    Hi Arun,
You should probably post this question in a basis forum.

  • Post-processing after errors in CAT5

I had few CO errors during CAT5 transfer, so financial postings were not executed.  Errors were fixed in PS, but next time we run CAT5 there are no confirmation foir transfer.
The question is how it is possible to re-process or post process the transferred confirmations that are missing financial postings?
    Thank you!

    Hi Kabir,
Many thanks for your input.  Now I would like to do something that is probably not possible.
I had a closed period, so CO postings failed.  It was decided that the period will remain closed, so I want to re-process same confirmations, but with another posting date (that is in the open period).  Is it possible?
Or I'd need to change the data in each time report to trigger new confirmations?
    Many thanks!

  • Post-process after the upgrade to non-Unicode

    Hello all,
    I'm doing a CU&UC and just completed the first part - non-Unicode.
Since it will be followed immediately by a Unicode conversion, do you really need to do all the post-upgrade tasks? And if not, which are the mandatory part?
    Thanks again,
    Terry

You can take the CU&UC Guide..... after upgrade and before unicode it's mandatory to do some steps, aall about unicode preparation.....after do it you can do the export....
    Has you begun this????.
    Regards,
    Alfredo.

  • Post Processing after Changing SID

    Hi,
    After following the procedure in:
    Change SID
I am able to start msg_server but stuck with the follwing with Java still not starting up.
I wonder about Java instance ID, what happens with the instance ID if the above procedure is followed. I have carefully changed configurations, settings...and am able to logon on ABAP side...but Java being down I cannot release the system properly.
Please advise asto what is still missing in corelation with changing SID in such a way.

  • Best Practice Reuse - Post Processing

I have a Query Canvas that I would like to use over and over again in my different form modules. I created an object group and put the group into the object library. All of the code is located in program units.
I want some "post" processing done which differs depending on which form I am reusing it on. I first created a post_query procedure and called it as a hook, but when I use it on a form, it gets overwritten as I update the reusable object group.
I then thought I would just call my post processing after I called the query procedure, but the "post" code is executing BEFORE query code executes - which I am completely confused as to why.
So my basic question is, how do you add "hooks" or pre and post procedures to your reusable code and prevent that code from being overwritten as you update your objects?

    Hi,
I also want to know what kind of monitoring scripts I can use to setup as cron jobs to monitor or detect any failure or problems?
    To monitor Cluster (OS Level):
I suggest you use a powerful tool "CHM" that already comes with product Grid Infrastructure.
What do you do to configure? Nothing ... Just use.

    To monitor Database:
PERFORMANCE TUNING USING ADVISORS AND MANAGEABILITY FEATURES: AWR, ASH, and ADDM and Sql Tuning Advisor. [ID 276103.1]
The purpose of this article is to illustrate how to use the new 10g manageability features to diagnose
and resolve performance problems in the Oracle Database.
Oracle10g has powerful tools to help the DBA identify and resolve performance issues
without the hassle of analyzing complex statistical data and extensive reports.

  • Post-Processing limit on number of files?

    Hello,
When I export a set of pictures, I apply a post-processing Photoshop droplet to that applies the Imagenomic Portraiture filter. It works fine up to a certain point. I noticed that if the number of files is less than 21, it works fine. If the number is greater, it fails to perform the post-processing and won't even launch Photoshop to apply the droplet action.
Has anyone encountered a file limit problem with post-processing in export?
    Del

I'll assume you are talking about Windows and not Mac since I cannot speak about Mac's. In Windows, the export action is invoked by passing the filenames on a command line to the program/script that you specify. There are limits to how many characters can be passed on a command line, depending on which method the programmers used. I expect the limit is 2048 characters. When that limit is reached, then the action does nothing.
The only way to increase the number of photos you can process, is to change the export folder name to something very short, like C:\Temp, or even shorter. By default, it exports to a very long path name an putting that in front of each photo name eats up valuable characters.
There will still be a limit, but at least you can process more before failure.

  • Preflight keeps saying  "Unable to save the PDF File after post processing"

I'm at a loss how to overcome this. Spent almost a whole day, together with another person, trying to fix it with no success!
I use Adobe pro CC on a PC
I usually receive pdf files from this one client who edits and formats a book in Mac Pages. Up until a few days ago I had no problems converting the client's pdfs into pdf/x3, but the last three versions of the latest file have stumped me.
Just to test, I first just tried to convert the file (33MB), unchanged, to pdf/x3 using the save as other option - message reads  "the document has been saved, however, it could not be converted according to the selected standard profile: convert to PDF/X. Please use preflight with the profile "Convert to PDF/X" in order to identify those properties of the document which prevent it from being compliant to this profile"
if I then choose under Profiles - convert to PDF/X3 - it says no problems found, and appears to have saved the file. If I try to save again as a pdf/x3, just to make sure, it then tells me it's not pdf/x3 compliant
OK - so then I go back to preflight - and choose the standards function - then pdf/x3, then continue with the default colour profile. About halfway through the conversion, at the point of saving the file,  I get the message "unable to save the pdf file after post processing"
So far I've had no luck figuring out what this is.
I then choose the option of "verify compliance of ppdf/x3" - message reads "pdf/x3 version key (GTS_PDFXVersion) missing", and "Trapped key not true or false"
Help!! How can I be sure the file converted / or not?
    kim

Yes I was/am aware of Preflight's inability to play nicely over cloud technologies in certain cases, especially wrt Standards technologies, this will be partially addressed in an upcoming version of Preflight without saying too much.  But the same thing could theoretically have happened if the file was also located on another local network client or server.  Leaving aside the argument that this may violate the Acrobat User Agreement - since purchasing the software, the user agrees to employ its functionality on a single host system and precludes host-client-based scenarios - this simply is not a supported use, meaning the user may not have expectations that it will work at all, if the applications requirements are not observed.  There do exist server-solutions for Preflight files within networks, but Acrobat and by extension Acrobat Preflight is not one of those solutions, and (still) belongs in the single host-based desktop environment.
However most (99.9%) functions within Acrobat <-> acrobat.com file exchange are supported, file syncing across multiple devices will soon be supported, but Standards compliance is still admittedly a problem at this point.  Some testing has been done using 3rd party cloud technologies starting with enterprise-based solutions, such as Office 365, and this will continue to ramp up to include other 3rd party products.
As for the second point, Preflight will usually change the PDF version to be complaint, are you saying that it was unable to do so in this case?  It seems that this error should have popped up during the normal Preflight conversion attempt.  Personally I think solving a workflow problem using the print path is a little bit of a heavy-handed approach, but if helped and the results are acceptable, then that is good.  Since that path is non-existent on a Mac, as one needs to Save as Adobe PDF from the Print dialog's PDF drop-down menu, I am assuming your workflow involved file creation on a Mac, then further processing on Windows using the PDF printer.  I am wondering if a simple resave/Save As... to PDF with overwrite on a Mac, or Preflighting the file using a PDF version compatibility profile before the PDF/X conversion would have helped.  Since there are such a multitude of methods that a PDF can be created, there are also many ways within Acrobat that a user can shape the file to be compatible with the expected workflow, ie, 'many ways to skin a cat', without being morbid.

  • Post Processing Steps after Support Package Stack Application

I'm curious if anyone has any guidelines for post processing steps (or pre-processing) when applying Support Package Stacks to their Development Infrastructure (Developmend Workplace and the Central NWDI Server).  We have just upgraded a couple of developers local engines and developer studio to SP stack 19 from SP stack 14 and are experiencing some problems.  We also applied the J2EE stack and appropriate SCA files to the NWDI server.
After the support packs it looks like our DTR files are gone (when reimporting configuration via Developer Studio the SC's are there but there are no DC's inside of them).  Additionally, it looks like we have to manually reimport the newest versions of SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS, and SAP-JEE.  Another thing is that old Local Web Dynpro DC's are now complaining about class path problems and different versions of files.  We followed the documentation for applying SP19 exactly as the documentation says for a Java Development Usage type.  Is there a checklist or something that anyone has for steps to perform after the application of the support packs?

I think I'm missing something.  Now I see the code and DC's inside the DTR.  However, when I try to import into NWDS no DC's come in (the software components exist, but no DC's in them).  Additionally, the CBS web ui reports that my software components do not contain any DC's even though I see them in the DTR.  What things can I look at to determine what I'm missing here?
Thought I'd add some more info..after applying the support packs, we imported the new SAPBUILD, SAP_JTECH, and SAP_jee SCA'S into our track as we required some functionality from the newer build SCA.  We also reimported our old archives back into the system by manually checking them in assuming this would fix the problem with us not seeing the source in the NWDS or the DTR.  After the import, the CBS no longer sees our custom DC's, but the DTR does (both in active and inactive ws).  When importing the dev configuration into the NWDS our custom DC's no longer appear, but SAP's standard SCA's do.

  • Lumia 920 pre & post processing of pics after Ambe...

Hey folks, im starting this thread in order to grab more attention from Nokia. As they are already aware of the yellowish tint in photos since the amber update, I wanna just add something extra. I have attached 2 sample images of pictures below. Both photos were shot at ISO3200 to really show what this phone is capable of. Each picture will come with a before processing happens and after. Not only can you tell theres a yellowish tint in the post processing pics, but you can also see severe noise reduction. Sure, ISO3200 is a bit on a smartphone, but take a close look at the pics before the processing happens and tell me that isn't a amazing picture at ISO3200. White balance is spot on, and sharpness is excellent. Im sorry, but the aggressive noise reduction Nokia applies is not needed on this phone. Nokia I think most people buy these lumia 920 and 1020 phones based on cameras. I think most people can agree that while we may not ask you to remove your noise reduction settings, but rather add an option for us users who would like to skip out on the post processing that happens. You can clearly see in the before and after pics below how amazing an ISO3200 shot from this phone is.....let us have it please!!!

  • Applying just vignette or other develop presets in Export-Post processing

Is there anyway to apply vignette in the export phase ? There is post processing option as very last step but that seems to be just for an external application, e.g. Photoshop. As a wedding photographer you might want to provide clients both dark and white vignettes, sepia variants or black & white ones. It would be very beneficial to have these as export operations. Maybe e.g. vignette could be logical OR operation so that main develop settings are kept while just vignette is added on top.

Hamish, I've been working with individual virtual copies but not for whole set of images. Do you know if there is easy way to view/select only the virtual copies at time ?
    -Janne
Hi Janne - Simon er Hamish here,
There is a very simple way to see Virtual Copies only, there is a filter for them
See the corner folded over of the middle icon - Virtual copy. To find this, you need to turn on the filters
click this and set it to rated (you can see the virtual copy icon unblurred in the image below)
Now you can just select the virtual images or by toggling that icon, you can see both,
    just like that.
    I hope this helps you

Exported jpegs to folder on desktop. Everything worked nicely except the command in the Post-processing box to open files in PSCS3 did not execute. Any comments or explanations? Thanks in advance for your help.

In most cases the length of the command line exceeds the maximum length.
Try using a very short output directory name like C:\Out. Note that this
applies to Windows, I'm not sure how this works on a Mac.

  • Export Post-Processing Feature Request

Using a post-processing action such as a Photoshop droplet in an export is limited by the command line length which must be sent to the application (Photoshop in this case). This means that exporting a few files will work ok with the action but exporting hundreds of files will not - they export ok but the action is not executed.
Can the way the post-processing action is executed be modified so that smaller batches of files are processed instead of one very large batch at the end? Either have a mechanism which builds maximum length command lines OR a "batch size" parameter so that, for example, several hundred files are processed on lots of, say, 10?

    Roy-
Ian Lyons is one of the few kind souls who has the power to do that, but I am pretty sure there are current workarounds, short of buying a Mac! I don't do Windows, but check back as many others do and some will have suggestions.
