Webfeed gpo is applied (in resultant Policy) but RADC is not configured

After tests for placing Remote app shortcut in Start menu of Windows 7 client and getting positive result I want to automate the process.
So I created computer GPO for SSO and linked it to OU where test computer resides.
I created User GPO for WebFeed and linked it to Test Users OU (User1, User2)
Resultant Policy shows that User GPO is applied to each user. But I cannot get webfeed URL in RADC when logged in with test User2.  To be sure that final solution works I entered manually webfeed url in RADC when logged in as USER1
1 Remote App works fine from shortcut in start Menu and Desktop when
USER1 is logged in.
WebFeed link is entered manually in RADC applet in Control Panel for user USER1
2. The last desired point is to make work WebFeed GPO.
If I login as USER2 no icon in start menu. RADC is empty.
As mentioned Resultant GPO shows that webfeed GPO is applied to USER1 and USER2
How to troubleshoot this thing?

what is the registry ? if I want to insert it in the image.
Can you provide a script plz.
In GPO itself it says Windows 8 or RT minimum. But I think I saw somewere that I can use it on Windows 7 with RDP 8.
Thanks.

I just applied for an Account but they did not request my ISBN. I may have made an error in completing the information. How can I correct it?

Did you just apply for an account or did you try to upload a book? If you are simply setting up an account, they won't ask you for an ISBN number. They will, however, ask for your tax ID number. After your account is activated, then any time you upload a new book, you will need to supply an ISBN number. Since each book has a unique ISBN, they don't need those numbers to initially set up your account. I hope that helps.
    Good luck!

  • I'm trying to apply an animation preset but it's not working.

I'm trying to apply an animation preset but it's not working.  I've done every procedure to apply a preset to a layer.  But there seems to be nothing happening.  I can't for the life of me figure this one out.  Adobe help simply says drag and drop the preset onto the desired layer, did it and nothing happended.  What am I doing wrong?  Please advise.
I'm using version 6.5 Professional on a Mac Pro computer.
    Thanks.

    No problem.
You will probably benefit from reading through the "Text" chapter of After Effects Help and the tutorials and such that it links to.
If you need to start from the beginning and learn about the basics of After Effects, then I recommend working through the items under the "Getting started" heading on the After Effects Help and Support home page.
Yes, these resources are largely about the new version of After Effects, but text animation hasn't changed a lot since version 6.5. (Some, but not fundamentally.)

  • IE10 GPP not applying using Computer Policy

    Hi,
We're having an issue getting IE10 group policy preferences to apply to our Windows 7 PCs. We set our IE policies based on the OU that the PC is in so we can easily define desktops from laptops, allowing us
to use a PAC script for laptops so they can connect directly to the internet when not connected to the corporate LAN (none of our laptops have IE10 yet, so I'm not sure if this method has changed as well!).
We're using a Windows 8 PC to create the policy, but it will not assign to my Windows 7 test PC. The policy is applied to the OU that the PC resides in, so my expectation is that the proxy settings I've configured
should apply to any user who logs onto that PC.
Can anyone shed any light on to why this isn't working?
    Thanks in advance.
    Chris

    Severe case of misunderstanding :)
Computers apply computer settings in GPOs that are linked to their OUs.
Users apply user settings in GPOs that are linked to their OUs. Since
the GPO is linked to the computer OU, the user doesn't even see it.
Link it to the user OU and do some Item level targeting to distinguish
    to your needs.

  • Configure SOA (full) , but OWSM not configured

Configure SOA (full) work find but OWSM is not configured
echo] ** Configure OWSM = false
    When going to URL: http://127.0.0.1:8988/SOAConsole
    it also does'nt show up.
Is there any way to get OWSM configured?

When you say going to the URL "it" doesn't show up, what do you mean by "it?" The SOAConsole doesn't show? But you saw the configure step complete with "SOA Infrastructure configuration SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED?" and "Build Successful"?

  • Airport Utility can SEE TC, but not CONFIGURE it?

I received my 1TB TC about a week ago (dual band).
    Setup
I have AT&T U-Verse with a 3800HGV-B modem/router. Before my TC I had a Linksys Wireless router with DHCP turned off (I let the AT&T router handle DHCP). And yes, I turned wireless on the AT&T router to OFF.
I knew that I wanted to let my TC handle DHCP so when I plugged the TC in and "set it up", I went to access the internet and my AT&T router put the TC on "DMZ Plus". The TC is handling DHCP for all of my wireless devices, and the AT&T router has 3 clients (2 cable boxes and the TC).
    Problem
Every now and then I will go to access the USB hard drive plugged into the back of my TC and it will time out. Going into Airport Utility, it will recognize my TC, but when I click "Manual Setup" it times out trying to access the TC configuration. Internet still works, so the routing is fine, but I can not configure it. I've tried this on my iMac and my Macbook. The status light always remains GREEN.
The only solution is pulling the power plug.
My TC is on a 10.0.1.X ip schema network and my AT&T is on a 192.168.1.X schema. Am I having a DHCP conflict? Can anyone else think of why this might be happening?
ALL firmwares/softwares are updated. EVERYTHING is wireless with the exception of the ethernet cable connecting my AT&T router to my TC.
I've searched the internet high and low and can't seem to find any answers.

    *This just in!*
Apparently unplugging the USB hard drive I have plugged into my TC will resolve my problem COMPLETELY. One question...WHY?!
This doesn't seem to add up, but sure enough -- If I unplug the USB hard drive connected to the TC, I have NO PROBLEMS accessing the configuration for the TC. I did notice that the USB hard drive's power light turns off when the drive is not being accessed.

  • Security policy from old GPO still applying after removal

We have a Server 2k3 domain with a mix of 2k8R2 (PDC) and 2k3 DCs. We are currently in the process of
replacing older 2k3 DC policies with newer policies. Policy A (AKA "Old policy") has always been a problem as it contains settings which cause errors in the event logs of the DCs it is applied to (ID 1020 "Windows cannot create
registry key CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager. (The parameter is incorrect)" and 1096 "Windows cannot access the registry policy file, \\domain.com\sysvol\domain.com\Policies\{GUID}\Machine\registry.pol. (The parameter is incorrect)").
Policy B (AKA "New policy") has been wonderful in a completely different AD Forest/Domain that we created it in but is not happy after we copied it to this Domain.
The new policy was exported as a Backup and imported by creating a new GPO on this domain and choosing "Import settings". We've previously encountered both the "hidden file" and "read only" issues with copying GPOs so we avoided
those by ensuring hidden files were copied and removing "read only" from the policy folder. The new policy was then applied to the Domain Controller OU with a higher precedence than the old policy. Neither policy is set to enforced
and the links for both were enabled, both policies are set with GPO Status "Enabled" so the new policy should have overridden the older policy settings. After several gpupdate /force and reboots, the 2k3
domain controllers are showing in RSOP a Red x on "Computer policy" with "Group policy Infrastructure" as failed with details "Group Policy Infrastructure processed successfully but failed to log resultant set of policy information".
Under general with "Display all GPOs and filtering status" Old policy is lower than new policy.
When drilling down to "User Rights Assignment" you can see that "Old Policy" is still the winning policy for all settings. When under "Administrative Templates" "New policy" is the winning policy there. So it
seems that the new policy is applying for admin template settings but not for security policies.
I then disabled the old policy which reflected under the general tab filtering status "Disabled" but the user rights assignment still showed Old policy as winning. I tried modifying the Old policy and saw that the serial number for the policy updated
in the RSOP general tab. Then I completely removed the link for the policy from the DC OU and the policy disappeared from the general tab but still showed under User Rights Assignment.
I've tried clearing the Cached group policy from the machine with:
    secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose
and deleting [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft] from registry and c:\windows\system32\GroupPolicy from HD.
Usually I'll get an error from RSOP about RSOP already running until I gpupdate /force and then I'm back at square one.
I've confirmed that the issue is not replication, the machine shows no errors in FRS and I've performed non-authoritative SYSVOL restore on this server. repadmin
    shows no errors.
I have not yet tried to demote/repromote the server as I'm unconvinced that will have any effect. I've seen this kind of issue on 2k3 servers where even after removing the server from the domain entirely the policies from the domain still remain in effect
to where you cannot even modify a setting from local gpedit.msc.
It seems that something is causing security policies to stick from the old policy but is allowing admin template policies to apply from the new policy. Where would these old settings be cached from, and how can I get them to go away?

I've now also tried putting the machine in an OU with inheritance blocking an no policies applied.
I've tried deleting [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GroupPolicy\History] and reboot.
I've turned on all the logging (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc775423%28v=ws.10%29.aspx) and I can even see the .inf files created in c:\windows\security\templates\policy
for each GPO and the policy shows the correct settings.
    NTRights (http://ss64.com/nt/ntrights.html,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315276) allows me to set the setting manually and AccessChk shows me the current settings
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb664922.aspx but I still cannot get RSOP to come back clean. I can also see in c:\windows\security\logs that some of the security settings
I'm working show up; "remove SeDebugPrivilege." for example shows up as having been removed from the local administrator which was one of the changes I made.
I've opened up a ticket with Microsoft Support but they haven't had any fresh ideas either. My best guess at this point is that policy is actually applying but RSOP is busted. I have no idea how to reset the RSOP data however.
At this point I'm trying to run WMIDiag to see if there's an issue with WMI as several of the misc errors in the gpedit.log file come up with WMI related issues in google ("InitializeRSOP failed with 0x80070102", "GetObject for event source
    of RSOP_ExtensionEventSource.id="{GUID}" failed with 0x80041002").
I should clarify that AccessChk seems to indicate that the User Rights Assignment settings ARE applying but are not showing correctly in RSOP.

  • Applying Software Installation Policy Is Taking Long Time During Boot Process

1 of my servers is having slow boot up issue. I have enabled user environment debugging and the gpsvc.log file has been generated. I have also used the Windows Performance Analyzer to capture logs and results came back that the GP Client is taking a long
time in the boot process. So, I reckoned the slow boot is due to GPO but I am not sure where to look from this log file.
I have only paste part of the gpsvc.log file here due to limitation in the number of characters allowed to be posted. Would appreciate some good advise on this issue that I am facing.

  • Group Policy Pref - Mapped Drives Not Applying to One User

    Hi All,
I’m new to this list, so please excuse any etiquette slip ups.  
I have three users at a site. All their machines are running Windows XP Service Pack 3 and have client side extensions installed. I created a group policy to map their default drives using GP User Preferences.
Each of the drives is set to "update".
As an example of the policy created XML is as follows:
    <Drive clsid="{935D1B74-9CB8-4e3c-9914-7DD559B7A417}" name="H:" status="H:"
    image="2" changed="2009-11-25 05:13:58"
    uid="{8A44D2F4-AAE5-4F43-AEEC-D36F08EA619C}" desc="Maps the users H drive to
    ServerName\users$\%username%" bypassErrors="1"><Properties action="U"
    thisDrive="NOCHANGE" allDrives="NOCHANGE" userName=""
    path="\\ServerName\users$\%username%" label="Home (ServerName)"
    persistent="1" useLetter="1" letter="H"/></Drive>
    and
    <Drive clsid="{935D1B74-9CB8-4e3c-9914-7DD559B7A417}" name="J:" status="J:"
    image="0" changed="2009-11-30 03:52:58"
    uid="{535CD462-A45D-4363-ADA1-2316D5ECC703}" desc="Maps J drive for users to
    \\ServerName\apps" bypassErrors="1"><Properties action="C"
    thisDrive="NOCHANGE" allDrives="NOCHANGE" userName=""
    path="\\ServerName\Apps" label="Apps (ServerName)" persistent="1"
    useLetter="1" letter="J"/></Drive>
The group policy is applied to an OU for that site.
All three users are in the same OU.
All three users are also in the same “xxsitecode Users” group.
2 of the users log into their pc and get the mapped drives with no issue, but one user doesn’t.
There are no other login scripts and the user has no manually mapped drives.
He does have a H drive mapped using the profile field in his AD object as a temp measure. But every 90 mins any other manually mapped drives are removed by the policy.
    We don’t use roaming profiles
To trouble shoot I have tried
    -    Reinstalling client side extensions
    -    Re-joining the pc to the domain
    -    Running gpupdate from the command prompt to see if any event logs are generated (none are)
    -    Manually mapping the drives to make sure there is network access etc – I can manually map them/he can access them.
    -    Creating the user a new account, when he logs in using that account he gets his mapped drives on all PC’s
    -    Getting the user to log into a different pc, when he does this he doesn’t get his drives – so it’s not his machine or profile
    -    Manually checking the security on the user object in AD against one of the users who gets their drives mapped
I'm sure the GP is fine because it works for two other users and the testing isolates his user account as the issue.
The Policy I’m having issues with is xxxx Mapped Drives/ Printers
I have posted this issue on the tech net GP discussion groups page, but haven’t had any replies.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Simone

What's interesting is that I applied a new GP to users - it has one policy setting and one preferences setting. He only gets the policy setting.. aka he gets the wallpaper but not the homepage.
Also, Jorke asked me to post the gpresult /z .

  • Applying custom Group policy to existing users using group policy

    Hello Everyone,
i am unable to find a way to push a custom theme to client PC using group policy.
I have tried "Load a Specific Theme" Group Policy but it is only applying to a new user logging on windows.
I have a custom theme that i want it to load to every existing user's machine.
Is there any way to do it using GPO??

Apply theme group policy does not work. Known issue.
    I use a vb script,
'@SLH // This Script applies the Themepack "
    On Error Resume Next
    Select Case themeApplied
    Case "yes"
'Has been set once before, nothing happens!
    Case Else
'Has not been set before, Company theme is applied
    strRegistryKey = readfromRegistry("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\General\WallpaperSource", "C:\Windows\web\wallpaper\Windows\img0.jpg")
    End Select
    Function readFromRegistry (strRegistryKey, strDefault )
    Dim WshShell, value
    Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    value = WshShell.RegRead( strRegistryKey )
    if strDefault = value then
    'Write key in registry
    WshShell.RegWrite "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\themeApplied", "yes", "REG_SZ"
    'Applying theme from server
'Remember to change the path tothe location of your .themepack file
    WshShell.Run "rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL %SystemRoot%\system32\desk.cpl desk,@Themes /Action:OpenTheme /file:""\\seraddressto\ Default.themepack"""
    WScript.Sleep 1000
    WshShell.AppActivate("Desktop Properties")
    WshShell.Sendkeys "%{F4}"
    end if
    End Function
I then run this in a run once script when the user first logs in, this sets the theme once on new profile generation.

  • Server 2012 Win 8.1 GPO Remote Registry Service & Group Policy Trace

I'm trying to enable the Remote Registry Service via GPO (Computer > Preferences > Control Panel > Services).
I set the following (and left the other config items at default):
    Startup: Automatic
    Service  name: RemoteRegistry
    Service action: Start service
This only results in a message in the event log and a message when running "gpupdate /force" both saying
"Windows failed to apply the Group Policy Services settings. Group Policy Services settings might have its own log file. Please click on the "More information" link."
HA! When was the last time one of those links helped anyone?
So I tried to enable "Computer > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Group Policy > Logging and tracing > Configure Services preference logging and tracing" and set
Event logging Informational, Warnings and Errors
    Tracing On
    User trace c:\Trace\User.log
    Computer trace c:\Trace\Computer.log
    Planning trace c:\Trace\Planning.log
Maximum size of trace file (KB) 1024
    I made the C:\Trace folder.
    And NOTHING.
So the GPO doesn't log anything meaningful to the Event Viewer (and tells you to look somewhere that says it can't help you), The same thing is in the "Operational" GPO log, Group Policy Result and GPRESULT /h <filename> give you the same
    meaningless poop.
Is there any way to start the flippin' service with the GPO, and is there a way to get any kind of meaningful logging?

    Hi,
    >>
Is there any way to start the flippin' service with the GPO, and is there a way to get any kind of meaningful logging?
If we want to get verbose information about group policy processing, we can try to enable logging in the Gpsvc.log file.
Regarding how to enable logging in the Gpsvc.log file, the following blog can be referred to for more information.
How to enable GPO logging on windows 7 /2008 r2 ?

In addition, regarding group policy debug logging, the following article can be referred to for more information.

I have a domain with 2 DCs.  The primary DC is running Server 2012 and is raising Event ID 1085 every 10 minutes and 20 seconds.
Windows failed to apply the Group Policy Local Users and Groups settings. Group Policy Local Users and Groups settings might have its own log file. Please click on the "More information" link.

    Any ideas?

I enabled tracing on a domain gpo and I still get the error when running gpupdate /force .
I'm also still getting Event 1085.  Here's the trace file.  I've anonymized the site/domain and the GUIDs.

  • OUTLOOK 2013 - Calendar GPO / GPO Partial apply

    Hello,
I got problem with the application of the gpo in order to tune new outlook 2013.
I've download and added to the central store microsoft office 2013 ADMX. The issue is:
-I've created GPO for office users, as I can check with gpresult.exe the policy is well applied to users.
-Part of GPO is applied : like to disable weather module in calendar.
-I've noticed that following part of the GPO is not applied: First day of week" / add week number on calendar / first week of year.
    I've check in registry " HKCU \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Office \ 15.0 \ outlook \ option \ calendar " and dword firstwoy / weeknum ... are here and set to 1.
Somebody notice the same issue & have any idea to solve this ?

    Hi,
It should be options instead of option in the registry:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar
Go to the registry and modify it manually, does it work?
Before doing anything to the registry keys, I suggest you back it up, or serious problems may occur.

  • How to avoid applying Default domain policy?

Hello! Hope to get some ideas on the following:
I have one PC that I DO NOT want to apply default domain policy to. I have created a separate OU in AD with one security group, that contains only that one PC.
I made sure that pc is a member of only that group and not domain computers or any other groups.
I have created a separate GPO for this PC and linked in to the domain.
I am seeing in the gpresult /r  that both the new  GPO is applied to the workstation and the default domain gp as well.
Default domain policy is designed to be applied to all authenticated users.
I have create a separate user for that workstation that is not a member  of authenticated users. It is only a member of domain users.
Ultimately I want default domain policy to be filtered out and the gpo specific to this pc to be applied.
    Any ideas?

    > Default domain policy is designed to be applied to all authenticated users.

You cannot exclude any computer or user from being an authenticated user...
    > Ultimately I want default domain policy to be filtered out and the gpo
    > specific to this pc to be applied.
Then simply block inheritance on the OU this computer lives in, and link
the specific GPO to that OU.

  • Cumulated option not applied to Results

    Hi,
We are trying to design a format with years in column and projects in row and we want user to switch from non cumulative to cumulative (we are using BI 7.0; SAPGUI 640)
    In non Cumulative
    ...............2008.....2009......2010.....2011
    Project A....5..........10........ 2...........1
    Project B....2..........3..........1............6
    Result .......7.........13.........3............7
When activating "Cumulated" with option "Calculate Along the Columns" we obtain :
    ...............2008.....2009......2010.....2011
    Project A....5..........15........17...........18
    Project B....2..........5..........6............12
    Result .......7.........13.........3............7
The problem is that we would like Results to be also in Cumulated but the "Also Apply to Results" cannot be checked and even when we put that in Query designer it has no effect on Results
We need to obtain this (in BW 3.5 it was working as expected using the cumulative output on Fiscal Year):
    ...............2008.....2009......2010.....2011
    Project A....5..........15........17...........18
    Project B....2..........5..........6............12
    Result .......7.........20.........23..........30
Thanks in advance for your help, we have tried everything but impossible to obtain what we had in BW 3.5.

We have put the Cumulated and Sum in the Query, when you run directly the query it works. But if in Properties you uncheck Cumulated to get non cumulative value if you want to apply again Cumulated, Result are again not correct.
    Is there any known problem?
