WebHelp ActiveX option not visible to users

Launching our WebHelp from the "Help" link in our browser-based application, users get the help in a new window but they do not get the message about enabling ActiveX that I see when I launch the help locally... which means that they do not get the Search field in the toolbar nor in the Search tab, and the Search tab is an embarrassing (and confusing) list of every possible item that might be searched. It also means they don't see the colors of the skin we created for the toolbar, because the ActiveX toolbar doesn't replace the default WebHelp toolbar.
This WebHelp was created with RoboHelp 7, running in IE 8.
Any ideas how to at least give our customers the option to allow ActiveX?

In this particular case I do believe ActiveX is a bit of a misnomer. ActiveX normally refers to a specific control. An applet in the browser. It's specific to Microsoft Internet Explorer. You can read more about ActiveX at the link below.

What happens is that Microsoft Internet Explorer posts the YIB with a rather generic ActiveX warning because it is seeing the JavaScript. I dunno, maybe IE uses an ActiveX control to interpret the JavaScript. That's far beyond my capabilities to explain.
So to answer your question, yes your users will need a JavaScript enabled browser in order to see your WebHelp skin in all its glory.
Assuming your IT peeps have allowed you access to these settings, you might investigate changing some options for IE as described in the link below:

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing some weird issue in Web Dynpro  applications on Enterprise Portal.
    Some UI elements are not visible to users on screen for no apparent reason.
    However to other users, same UI elements in same application are visible & rendered properly.
    This is happening specially in case of Table Pop In.
    I've tried many things like using different machine, clear browser Temp files etc... but nothing helped.
    is it like that EP is not able to render some of the UI element properly ?

  • Sequences are not visible to user/schema

    I have copied a schema(abcd1)(schema level refresh) from prod to dev(abcd2),i verified that all objects(tables,views,synonyms and sequences etc..) got created in the dev schema(abcd2) ,but now the client complains that the sequences are not visible to user/schema(abcd2) in dev,he says it was visible before and that they are visible to another schema(abcd3) in dev.... can anyone please advise?   • Workflows not visible to users

    We are in a new 2013 SP farm.  I migrated an old 2007 farm into this one a few weeks ago, and I am seeing an issue on one library (so far) that has approval workflows. 
    We were previously able to have users kick off approval workflows on a file with only contribute access.  I understand that they need edit rights on the file/and folder in question to start the workflow.  However, when I give them those rights,
    the workflows are still not visible when they go to kick off the workflow.  The only way it seems to work is if I give them contribute rights at the library level. 
    Any suggestions on how to fix?

    Please follow next steps:
    1. Open SharePoint Designer.
    2. Open your site.
    3. Click on Workflows in lateral menu.
    4. Search your workflow and click on it.
    5. Check option "Allow this workflow to be manually started."
    6. Uncheck option "Require manage lists permissions".
    7. Test again.

  • Task outcome button in Infopath not visible to users having contribute access

    Hi,
    I have followed the article to add an additional button:

    The site was earlier in 2010, and now migrated to 2013. But the workflow is working fine.
    The additional button in InfoPath is visible to users having full control, but not getting visible to users having contribute access.
    Setting permission to full control in site is showing the button, but I cannot change the permission of users.
    How to fix this?

    Can you check with this weather you are able to see button.

  • Planning Option Not Visible in Configuration Utility

    I have created a Planning Application long back (Classic Application) [9.3.1]. Now we are about to create a new application. The stramge thing is that I am not able to see the Planning option in Configuration Utility. Previously I have installed EPMA and also cofigured the same, But never used EPMA. Now I have created a user in Rdbms and tried to create a Datasource for my new application. Unable to see the option where I can create datasource. Please guide what should be done. (able to see EPMA options like deploy server, configure databse, etc)
    I am able to access planning web and access my old Planning application. In fact also able to open Planning application wizard.(Here it asks for datasource).

    I am also facing the same problem --- "planning option not shown at all in config utility". Scenario is also the same, some days ago BPMA has been installed though not in use. Planning is working properly, but now, when I want to create another datasource for another application creation, no planning option is showing.
    In C:\Hyperion\common\config\product there is no planning folder exists. Could you please suggest how to resolve this issue?

  • Enterprise keywords not visible to users in SP2013

    Enterprise keywords are visible to me, but not visible to some of my colleagues, though they can see the list items clearly, but the under the column heading "Enterprise Keywords", it's all blank.

    It can be permission issues.
    1. Navigate to the list TaxonomyHiddenList, for eg- http://serverName/sites/Lists/TaxonomyHiddenList
    2. Click on List Permissions in the ribbon interface
    3. Grant Permissions for the specific users
    It should be done now.

  • Responsibilities not visible to user after cloning instance from Production

    Hi,
    In my environment, one of the user is disabled in Production, but he has access in DEV instance. When i clone production onto DEV instance and enable this user, he is not able to see the responisbilities which he is suppose to see.
    I ran the "Synchronize WF LOCAL tables', but still the user is not able to see the responsibility.
    Am i missing anything?

  • 16:9 Option Not Visible

    Strange problem I am having. I haven't used Encore a lot. I am creating a DVD but have been unable to locate the option to set the aspect ratio to 16:9. It is defaulting to 4:3 and letter boxing my menu BG footage and dvd content. I seem to remember on previous projects a simple radio select for 16:9 on the properties panel but it not visible within this project. I don't know what I have done wrong? The footage is all .mov's exported from Premiere and most definitely 16:9 ratio.

    MANY people have had problems with the content for Encore CS6, even with the link Ann posted, since the instructions are not very clear
    This is for CS5, but the structure will be "similar" for Encore CS6... except for being in the 64bit program path
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS5\Library\Corporate
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS5\Library\Education
    ... and so on
    Which means that when you unZip (or whatever) the downloaded content you will place the individual library folders as shown above... then, the next time you start Encore, it "should" let you open the folder(s) for the specific type of content
    CS5 was MUCH cleaner in all this, since everything was installed during the original process, with no need to download and separately install the content

  • Home folder not visible in users folder

    My home folder appears to have gone missing from the Users folder in finder. See screenshot - I can see the test account I created and the shared folder but not my home folder.
    I can still access my home folder via the sidebar but this causes problems with some software not being able to see my home folder in their browsers (Nikon Capture NX2 being an example).
    Anyone got any ideas?

    Check the View Options in the Home folder to make sure the library is selected to be visible:
    NOTE: In Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    For  Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

  • Startup items options not found under user name

    I'm sure this has been covered before, but I couldn't find an exact match.
    Under the accounts setup-one of the profiles does not have "Login Items" as an option, only has Password, Picture, and Parental Controls. I have full access as administrator to all accounts. How do I get the Login Items Options to show up?
    On a larger issue, the reason I would like to access the user account login items is to turn on DirectfonfigX for that login, the particular login will not work with a DVI connection. (Display may be set to VGA, I don't recall the exact reason why it does not work with the same DVI connection as normal login user. they are basically the same user profiles, but I can access some software under one user that the other user will not recognize that I have registered my software, or profile settings. But perhaps that is an even larger issue.)

    Just ran a test here--Login Items are only available for the currently logged in account (owner of the keyboard/mouse/display). You'll have to log in as each of those users and set the login items appropriately. Seems that an admin should be able to set these but not so.

  • OIM11gR2 DBAT User recon - custom UDF value not visible in User detail page

    I have configured DBAT connector for OIM11gR2 for user recon.
    Have created and mapped few custom UDFs in the GTC.
    User is created successfully in OIM, and has all the values correctly in USR table for all the custom UDFS.
    But when i search a user in OIM, i can not see the value of custom UDF, even though it is in the database.
    I have created and activated a sandbox and also added the custom UDF in the user details page using the Design option of ADF.
    Is there something I am missing related to display of custom attribute and its value on the USer details page.

    Yes, your UDF should be available under Manage Users->UserVo1. It is working fine with our env. make sure you have the latest version of R2 release, because Beta release had an issue for same. You can create aonther UDF and and try gain.

    We're currently processing the Upgrade of our BW system.
    We meet a problem about the visibility of our existing workbooks in User menu of the new Bex Analyzer. The system is apparently successfully upgraded, we nevertheless have this issue. We know that we have to convert the workbooks, but before doing that, we would like to see them....
    Can someone help us ? Is maybe it a authorization problem ?

    Can you still see them in the 'old'  BEx?
    If so: try to execute them there.  If you get no error => no authorisation problem.
    Also, in the new BEx you can try to find them via the find button.
    Bear in mind that with the NW04s BEx you don't see the whole menu tree, but only one level at the time.
    I should also mention that there are problems with displaying favorites stored in folders.  Note 955979 solves that.

When they click on the tab, they are redirected to a page that contains the error message that they are not authorize to view the page.     Have you set the same authorization scheme to the tab as you set to the page which is started by the tab?
    If so, you should not see the tab.
