WebHelp Searches from Tool Bar Fail

We're generating two WebHelp help systems using FM9 (unstructured) and RH8. We use a barely-tweaked version of the Chrisi skin (we've changed the background color of the toolbar).
In our latest build, we discovered the following problem (it might have been around before):
When you search using a single term in the toolbar search box, no results are returned. If you search using the search pane, or if you use more than one term in the toolbar search box, it seems to work fine.
What appears to happen is that an is appended to the search term when using a single term in the toolbar search box.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Sorry to report that I do not have a solution but I do have the same problem. If I do a search in the toolbar when I first open my published RoboHTML WebHelp help project it doesn't matter whether or not I put in a single term or a couple of words in the the search box on the toolbar a space is added to the end and no results appear. Once I get rid of the space in the sidebar and perform the search the search box on the toolbar subsequently works with any number of terms I put in. It seems like once the search is "switched on" it is happy and does not subsequently add the space after the search term in the toolbar search box.
I am using RoboHelp 8.0.2.208 and publishing to WebHelp. No additional options have been chosen under WebHelp General (such as MOW, 508, etc) and the options chosen under WebHelp Options are DHTML > Pure HTML and Web Site (Internet).
Anyone able to help me or Shane out?

I accidentally installed the Babylone search engine tool bar while dowloading a program and when I realized that Firefox had been substituded I tried to get back and even ran a restore for the system. Since then, everytime I try to reisnstall Firefox, there is a message that says that Firefox can harm my system and when I ignore it, it says that maybe I don't have permits or licenses for it. I am frustrates as even the menu bar from my alternative search engine, Google Chrome, has disappeared.
Please write back and tell me what to do

You may also need to create a new profile in case more files were damaged by closing down Firefox that way.

I cannot upgrade past 28 my dropdown menu will not work in the address bar I can not search from address bar stuck at home page

Once I open firefox browser with anything past 28.0 my browser becomes a paperweight no searches from the address bar. Not from the list of drop downs, not from typing the address in the bar. Stuck to the home page it had as default. Firefox does an update every time I close it forcing me to return to 28.0 or through my F--n computer in the trash. Noticed others had this problem but got only questions with no help coming from firefox. This is a Vista 64 bit if that maters. I kinda think maybe nothing past 28 will work but with Vista but no one from firefox will step up and say that.

Firefox 4 does not search from Location Bar (Awesome Bar)

I have searched the knowledge base, and not found anything exactly like my problem. A similar question, '''[https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/815325 Url Keyword guessing does not work]''' is close... but only close. Link below.
I was previously able to type some keywords into the Location (Awesome) Bar, and it would either jump to an appropriate page, or come up with a Google Search page of possible sites.
I have upgraded to FF4, and while I can successfully conduct searches from the dedicated Search Bar, typing keywords into the Location Bar brings this problem. I have used "Mozilla Foundation" as my search keys:

I have attempted to use the about:config | keyword.enabled to turn it off, then back on, and it doesn't seem to have worked. I really can't decipher anything about the message that I do get (above). This may or may not matter, but I was surprised to find that my existing Add-On, "Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.2.1" is no longer compatible, and thus not functioning.

You can modify the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".

Can't delete Yahoo Finance from Tool Bar.

Your instructions say that you can drag items from the tool bar to remove them. It doesn't work in my case.

If you are talking about bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar then you can remove them in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) from the Bookmarks Toolbar folder.

Missing Crop Tool from Tool Bar

I was using the Crop Tool in PSE 9 Guided Editing and now it is gone from the Tool Bar. I have to go to the Image pull down menu to find it, and when I do, part of the image is already partially cropped. How do I turn that off and return the icon to the Tool Bar?

Right click on the re-compose tool and choose the standard crop tool.

Opening yahoo from tool bar, opens a tab to the left but you have to scholl to read

When iI open yahoomail from the tool bar, it opens a tab to the left and you have to school to read it. if I open it after opening another tab and use book marks it will open in a full tab and work , or least it use too before it stopped working, but this you are working on. It is not much good to have to school.

Is that a bookmark you are using to open Yahoo Mail?
If so, right-click that bookmark and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.
Using JavaScript buttons on web pages for "Bookmark this Page" causes that preference to be selected when saving the bookmark in that manner. So, don't use those buttons, use the "Bookmark this Page" feature that is built into Firefox instead.

Last update removed autofill from tool bar. How do I restore it?

I use "autofill" a lot; for forms, etc. It is no longer on my tool bar, after last update. How can I restore it and the important tool it is to me?

Safari Refresh Button vanished from Tool Bar!

Uploaded Safari 4 and now find the Refresh Button has disappeared from the Tool Bar! I used it all the time when updating Web Sites and testing them live. Tried the Reload Page pull-down but it is not the same. The old page is still there. It's a pain to Reset Safari each time. Had to go over to FireFox! Any ideas? Or how do I get back to Safari 3!

Can't search from address bar!

When searching in Safari I can no longer search directly from the search bar.
I type my search in and press enter and the search term highlights blue and then the blue being to load blue however it then freezes and will not load.
When entering a full web address Safari brings it up very quickly, smae goes for clicking a bookmark. Further if I go to the Google homepage and search it is also very quick and therefore I know it is not a slow internet connection. On our iMac Safari searches as normal so it is not the internet in the house either.
I have tried reseting Safari with no result and there are no updates avalible.
Please help this is really frustrating me especially as my Macbook Air is only a month or so old.

If any extensions are installed, disable them and test.

Searching from address bar

I am trying to use the address bar search feature, which works nicely on the administrator account, but does not work in a user account.
In the user account, when i change the keyword.url to http://www.google.com/search?&q=, after restart, it changes back to chrome://browser-region/locale/region.properties. So whatever I type in the address bar, I get the result:

Files/Mozilla Firefox/omni.jar!/chrome/en-

Small tools are lost from tool bar, like bookmarks, closet tabs..

I'm the only one who is suffering from very strange problem. If you are looking for below picture:

That looks quite normal, but I do not have anything after the google's search box. Or they are there, because when I move my mouse over that place a light grey square appears and also tips are coming.
Also the small "X" for closing single tab is missing, and also the place where to get new tab.
I tried the reset the Firefox, and that help! ...for one day. Now the problem is the same.
Any idea what is going on?

Why is Firefox suddenly blank - no address, search or tool bars, uninstall/reinstall d/n resolve--now only v 3.6 will work?

I was using the latest version of FF and last week the browser froze and when I restarted it was completely blank. I went through the help section, tried uninstalling, manually removing files, and reinstalling several different versions, but the only one that will work at this point is 3.6.28. Your help sections and non-existent customer service SUCK - I don't have days/hours to mess with this and will abandon FF altogether if adequate assistance is not promptly received.

hello, in principle does the picture/description in the article reflect the problem that you're seeing? i'm not sure how those addons would behave in firefox 3.6 which is outdated and no longer supported by mozilla...
please download and install the latest version of firefox (16.0.1 atm) from getfirefox.com and then try to follow the troubleshooting procedure in the article step by step (launch in safemode, then disable suspicious addons/or if not sure all of them). if this resolves the issue, it would also be interesting which extension were present in your case. thank you!

Multiple Pushbutton excluding from tool bar

Where were these tools? Were they buttons along the horizontal strip, with icons? Or buttons running under the TOOLS button, with words?
