Webi error on Unx Universes only('getSessionInfosEX')API
Webi error on Unx Universes only('getSessionInfosEX')API We are on BO4.1 SP2, Oracle11g I am getting error when I try to create webi report on unx universes only. I can create report on Unv universes without any error. Here is the error I am getting ('An internal error occured while calling 'getSessionInfoEX') API. I have created unx on Oracle 11g and I can run the query in IDT and can see data without any error. Not sure what could be the issue, any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Based on your various threads, it seems like you are having numerous issues after you update, which suggests to me that something has gone wrong during the patching.
Route 1 in such a situation would be to contact AGS support services. Have you done that?

WebI Report causing WIS 30270 error on UNX universe
Hi All,
Need some expertise on a really weird error I am facing. I have a dashboard designed on a UNX universe, and a connecting URL that opens a WebI report that is also designed on the same universe. The dashboard is working fine for all the users but when the users open the WebI report, they face the WIS 30270 error which has a bunch of discussions but nothing related to the weirdness I have here.
As an administrator, I don't see the issue at all. Some general users have the issues but intermittently though. So I believe the servers are not the cause. Then I investigated access levels but users within the same user group have seen the error while others haven't encountered it at all.
The WebI reports that have been designed on BEx queries are all working fine with no issues. Please advise and help me figuring out the issue and resolving it.
Current version of BOE: 4.0 SP6 P3
BW: 7.3
Universe designed on SQL ServerI had a simular problem once, universe worked on Explorer, Dashboards but not on the WebI side.
The problem was, I used the "MOVE" option inside CMC, and moved the universe to a diferent folder. And for some reason something inside the universe still pointed to the old location, and only webi was not able to find it, I mean, it was able to find it, but not apply the correct permisions, and it would fail when I tried to refresh the report.
Can you create a new universe and test?
Or open the current one and save it with a differente name on another folder?
If that isn't it, are you using SSO on that universe?
That's it for now.. hope this helps.

Query as a Web Service can't see .unx universes to use as data source?
Hi,
I created a Universe using Information Designer. The Universe is published on the server as *.unx.
With Query as a Web Service Designer, I connect to the server to create a query. However, in "Choose a universe as a data source for the query", I do not see the *.unx Universes, I only see *.unv Universes.
Both software are the latest version (XI 4.0).
Anyone know what is the issue here?
Thanks,Hi there,
So in QaaWS tool, therefore, only UNV files are seen?
Regarding going through WebI Rich client > Web Services, how do I generate a URL?
In WebI Rich client this is already sourcing the Web Service (provided i already have a URL)...
I am confused with this.
Can someone please reply?

Error in webi against MSAS OLAP Universe
Hi,
We have an OLAP universe against MSAS 2008. We are at BOXI3.1 SP2. I am wondering if anyone has seen this error before
"expression contains a function that cannot operate on more than 4,294, 967,296 tuples WIS10901".
We get this error when we create a webi report against the universe. The only thing unique about this report query is that it has a few numerous query filters - but then the only way this error makes sense is if BO is creating MDX against multiple sets of data and then combining that based on these additional filters ( a bit different behavior than what we might expect in a relational DB with multiple query filters).
Any suggestions on how to navigate this issue? thank you in advance.

Edited by: ramaks on Jan 12, 2011 12:02 PMHi,
I am not sure if it is the same problem, but I had similar issues with measure objects coming out of the universe that were defined as "database delegated" in the universe object's properties. Basically it then forces you to always refresh when you have changed anything on the report, so that it can recalculate the measure. I am not aware of differences regarding this in Rich Client vs. InfoView, but there could be. I have seen other similar issues between the two before.
Check to see if the measures are database delegated, and change them if you can to sum or count or whatever they should be.
Hope that helps. -

ASP Web Forms Error: Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true
Hello,
I am developing a custom application page for a custom Web Forms I am creating, which I plan on using for custom task form into SharePoint 2010 Foundation.
Currently, I am trying to test it in Debug Mode using Visual Studio 2010 but when I am trying to use Sessions I get the error:
Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the <configuration>\<system.web>\<httpModules> section in the application configuration
I've already done this on trying to fix:
On my page
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="TestForm.aspx.cs" Inherits="TestForm" EnableSessionState="True" %>
And on my web.config
<pages enableSessionState="true">..<httpModules>
<remove name="Session" />
<add name="Session" type="System.Web.SessionState.SessionStateModule, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a"/>
</httpModules>
Note: I am getting an error when I try to add <module> into web.config
ASP .NET State Service is currently running.
And the part where it keeps error is when in PageLoad, I try to set a List object something like this:
List<object> myobject
get
if (Session["object"] == null)
Session["object"] = new List<object>();
return Session["object"] as List<object>;
set
Session["object"] = value;
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
myobject= new List<object>();
BUT the error still persists! I also try to restart IIS but still the error still happens.
I am running out of ideas so can you help me out?
Thank you!Could be your skype intercepting your requests at 80 port, in Skype options uncheck
Or Your IE has connection checked for Proxy when there is no proxy
Or your fiddler could intercept and act as proxy, uncheck it!
Solves the above problem, It solved mine!

Hi gurus, need your help.
When we run the query for the report we get an error in Web Intellegence .
This error may be two types. And their rotation occurs randomly.
First error: There is no memory available. Please close document to free memory (WIO 30280)
Second error: An internal error occurred while calling the 'processDPCommands' API. (ERR_WIS_30270)
When we try reopen WEB Intelligence, or reloading servers or machine, we have no any results and get error again.
I was try change different parametrs in universe designer for connection and universe, in central managment console for WEBI, but it's not solve problem
This query select data from huge table (4,7 million rows), and when I use limit for maximum rows in WEBI my report working correctly.
Is there any way to solve these problems associated with large data? What is invoke this problem when we try to get full data?
We use Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 version 12.4.0.966
Our system Windows Server R2 Enterprise 2008 SP1 (64-bit system), Processor Intel 2.67 GHz (2 processors), RAM 8 Gb.
Thanks.
RuslanHi Brad,
here we are talking about XI3.1 which has the limitations inherited from the operating system. as this blog post explains with plenty of details.
In BI4.0 you can leverage larger datasets without any problems however you need to properly size and configure the services.
There are several documents out there:

Dear All,
We are facing production server stability issue. From this Friday in morning almost each 30 min WebIntelligence Service is crash. When users are trying to refresh report it give following error
The Web Intelligence Server could not be reached. Contact your Business Objects administrator. (Error: RWI 00236) (Error: INF)
I check the memory uses by Web Intelligence and it is only 200 MB to 400 MB. I am attaching system configuration file.
When I restart the Webi report server and Webi Job Server we are getting following error.
An internal error occurred while calling the ' initlnstance API' (Error: WIS 30270) (Error INF)
This error only resolves when I restart all the services. This problem repeat on each 30 min in morning. Now there a pattern I have observed in last 2 days. We different data load in morning starting from 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM. After the data load complete we have some schedule reports and matrix refresh. Matrix refresh after all data loads, but report schedule when specific data load is loaded. Most of the time problem is occurred after data load. (I am saying most of the time, not always). If some one have any experience in such issue please let me know.
If we check the Business Objects log this is common error u2013
assert failure: (.\ComPluginMgr.cpp:242). (false : Deprecated code, should be executed).
assert failure u2013 this is common error for JobServer Child / Web Intelligence/ Catch Server
When we check Application log common error is u201CTransport error: Communication failure.u201D This error is starting point of problem. JobServerChild and Web Intelligence report server both give this error.
Now we talk to Business Objects support and still talking. They told us to do following setting change by the book.
1. Create a New Web intelligence Report service. (Now we have 3 Web Intelligence Services)
2. We put the -OUTPROC setting into the WebIntelligence Job server and the Crystal Report Job Server. This actually creates new child for its new request.
3. we had increased the heap size of the tomcat as
MAX_HEAP_SIZE= 1073741824
In the location BO Installation dir\tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\WEB-INF\classes
4. We also increased the java applet runtime to -Xmx 300.
No luck till now. In fact today system is behaving in different way. Users got same error in 12:30 and 2 PM. Now I donu2019t have to restart system/Services. This problem fixed automatically.
Right now we are installing BOE SP4 and I will disable the entire schedule for tomorrow.
Did any one have anything idea or ever encounter this error.
System Configuration
We are running Business Objects XI R2 SP3
Web Server - "Apache Tomcat 5.0.27"
OS - Windows 2003 Std Edi. SP2
Database - SQL Server 2005 SP1
Browser u2013 Internet Explorer 6
Client and Server - JAVA u2013 1.4.1
Thanks in advance.

DubaiHi Dinesh,
Also, try the following solution.
By default, the value of the executionTimeout attribute is set to 90 seconds in the Machine.config file. This error occurs when the processing time exceeds 90 seconds.
Solution
To work around this issue, increase the timeout value that is set for the executionTimeout attribute in the Machine.config file.
CAUTION Before making any changes to the machine.config file create a backup copy.
To set the executionTimeout attribute, follow these steps:
1. Open the Machine.config file in Notepad. The Machine.config file is located here:
%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\%VersionNumber%\CONFIG\
2. In the Machine.config file, locate the httpRuntime element.
3. Increase the value of the executionTimeout attribute to avoid timeout errors.
4. Save the Machine.config file.
5. Restart IIS and the Enterprise XI services.
More Information
For a detailed description of each attribute, see "<httpRuntime> Element" in the .NET Framework documentation at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/cpgenref/html/gngrfHttpRuntimeSection.asp

Hi, We are using BI 4 SP7.
We have recently converted UNV universe to UNX universe. There are some hidden objects in UNV that are used in reports it is fine with UNV.
After converting UNV to UNX, those reports are failing because of the hidden objects. If we un-hide them then report is working fine. So there seems to be change in behavior of UNV and UNX.
Our universe will be used by others to create ad-hoc/custom reports. We don't want to have these objects to be visible to those report creators. Is there a way to hide some objects but still use in reports.Hi, I have tried it.
I created a business security profile and denied access to specific objects for a user.
Objects are restricted to that user in Query panel, this is fine. But that user is not able to access these objects in the standard reports. Below error is thrown when i tried to refresh the report.
"An internal error occured while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)"
Is there a way to enable access to objects for all users in reports but not Query panel ?
I added tried by adding 'ALL OBJECT' access in Display Data tab but it did not change anything. -

LIke I said, I sure hope somebody can help me out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The only thing I could think that might be causing this is the fact that I upgraded to Maverick (Apple OSX) about 2.5 weeks ago. But this problem didn't start until about 3 days ago, so surely that's not the issue. Anyway, figured it was worth mentioning.
Please let me know.
Thank you,
Jamie Richards, a fellow Photoshop addictI found the solution (took forever to consolidate all the answers) for OS X 10.9 + Maverick. Finally!
1. Change permissions (as AOTPR says) to your User/Library/Preferences file so that your admin and user (the one you are using) has read + write permissions within the Get Info pane (command+I). You may have to add them with the sign.
2. Delete Adobe save for web 12.0 Prefs & Adobe save for web 13.0 Prefs files within the User/ Library/ Preferences folder. These may be hidden for some people, so when in a finder window, hold Option(alt) and click Go from the main top menu (keep holding Option/Alt) and click Library — the full Preferences folder should open for you.
3. Change the view when in Save for web pane in PS. If you have it in Cover Flow — it won't work. Change it to another view like List or Columns view.
Presto! Works for me on Maverick.
Thank god. It took forever to get this cleared up!!

BPC 7.5 NW PERIODIC Measure returns error in new environment only
Recently we created a new BPC environment/server. This new environment has had HANA installed and is going through testing. In our testing we have incurred the following issue, but we are not sure if it is HANA related or just a result of something in the new environment not being set up correctly.
Our BPC LEGAL/Consolidations application is a YTD application. A basic EVDRE was created with Time in Column (expanded to month), and Entity, Account, Profit Center and Reporting Currency in the Row. The EVDRE is first expanded with the MEASURE set to YTD. The correct results are returned. The MEASURE is then changed to PERIODIC and the EVDRE expanded. The result is an error - "Errors found retrieving data".
This same EVDRE opened in any of our other environments does not result in an error and returns the correct periodic results. I have verified that the time dimension is exactly the same in the working and non-working environment. I also had the BW team verify with UJA_FORMULA_APP that the contents of the table for LEGAL/Periodic. I had them pull out the Formulas from a working and non-working environments. It appears they are the same.
QG1:

Does anyone know where else we should look? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
DeanaHi,
If when you launch BPC Server Manager, you do not get "Cannot connect to ABAP server", this means user BPC_SYSADMIN is connecting correctly. And assuming you had invalid RFC user in BPC Web, your issue is then only with user BPC_USER (or BPC_ADMIN if the issue is with BPC Admin client only)
If you do get that error, it means the error is for more than one user, so I would look for something big missing.
In point 1 you mention domain users, make sure in BPC Server Manager under "reset login credentials" that you do not have windows users specified there as it's a common mistake, those should be your 3 BW communication users
On BPC .Net server, if you installed SAP GUI, run an MDX_PARSER test in SM59 to check librfc32.dll is working correctly
Also quite common issue it is possible your background users have wrong authorizations; in PFCG check the roles SAP_BPC_SYSADMIN SAP_BPC_ADMIN and SAP_BPC_USER were copied to customer namespace and that the role are active (user tab should be displaying green light) and assigned to the background communication users
Also check the background users are not locked in SU01 (if they are locked the password saved on .Net server was or is not matching the real password defined on NW server)
Thanks,

Adobe Save For Web Error???
i have a core2duo, xp sp3 running 8GB of ram
3.5GB as my main memory, 4.5GB as my virtual memory.
setup by Gavotte Ramdisk.
and my photoshop cs3 scratch disk is set to a 500GB drive with more 300GB of free space. and i let photoshop cs3 uses upto 100% of the memory (1707MB) and i'm pretty sure i've read all the memory optimization for photoshop cs3 that i could find on the web...
yet i still get this error when trying to save an image using save for web.
my image dimension is 2560x1600 72dpi and saving using jpg high quality 60 settings, the image size is showing 702K. but once i click on save, this msg shows up...
Adobe Save For Web Error
Could not write the file, there is not enough scratch memory available.
what's going on? can somebody help me out?I have 200gb available on my hard drive as well. I am also experiencing the same issue. Plenty of RAM, plenty of hard drive space. I'm getting more an more of the not enough scratch disk errors, even though I've got 2 scratch disks on separate volumes. I know the files I'm working on a pretty large, but normally I'm saving web versions from print resolution files. Photoshop should handle it. Older versions on slower machines would. I'm sure the error is something else, even though it's telling me that there is not enough room.
For me it appears it's only with the preview though. -
QaaWS 4.0 - Do not see my newly created .unx Universe in QaaWS Designer?
Hello,
I am new to using the Qwery as a Web Service in 4.0 and am trying to connect to a newly created *.unx universe within Query as a Web Service Designer.
Is it true that you can not connect to a *.unx Universe (universe created from Info Designer 4.0) using Query as a Web Service Designer?Hi James,
You could see the UNV universe in the QAAWS and not the .UNX.
Are you planning to use the QAAWS in Xcelsius? If yes, Dashboard Design 4.0(Xcelsius) has new feature" Query Panel" which enables you to connect to .UNX universe directly into Xcelsius.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Amit
