Webi on BW Query/Info Cube

Hi All,
I have created a WebI . This is what I have done.
1. We have installed the SAP Authentication (SDK to connect to SAP )
2. On Universe designer, we created the new connection to a BW query.
3. Created the Universe
4. Created a WebI Document and exported it to CMC
Now how will I transport this query to the next upper region, I mean QA and Production?
Any ideas?

Assuming QA and Production did following step
1. We have installed the SAP Authentication (SDK to connect to SAP )
You can use Import wizard to get your universe and report in a BIAR file , which can be restore in QA and Production.
After restoring BIAR, you would need to change the Universe connection (in QA and Production) to connect to BW query.

Hi,
I am using SAP BI for some time now. I know after the introduction of BIA (BI Accelerator) the performance of any query has increased atleast 90% from what it used to be. The OLAP performance does not change, but the data retrival (DB Read) has almost negligible.
My question is for some one who is using WebI on top of an Info Cube and on top of a BEx Query.
The performance will be almost comparable of a Web I created on top of a BEx query, because it will still use BIA.
The performance of a Web I document will not be anywhere close to the above when the universe is created on top of an Info Cube, because it cannot use BIA.
Can anyone validate the statement?

As a point of order, I was wondering if I could stick my neck out a moment. I notice that your username is marked as a mentor and SAP Employee, so perhaps you can lend a hand here. It seems that "Alex Arthur Sam", in another posting asked a question, then stated he had "found answer.", and after several postings going back to over a year ago, he has not responded. Is there some type of sanction we, as participants, can appeal to so that they can either gently ask Sam to respond or limit his access to the forum as a participant for a period? I know I don't have a dog in this fight, but some day in the future I may be facing a similar situation and am wondering what the SAP Community Network moderator's stance is. Believe it or not, I have worked with clients who, though don't question my abilities, perform their own research on forums such as this to verify when I say such-and-such cannot be done. When they see that others have "achieved the impossible" they expect me to "get to it likewise". Forums seems to be either a boon or rue, but with a moderator's help from time to time the forum can be more bearable otherwise.

How to restrict Overwritten records of Info-Cube in Query

Hi ,
In query i am able to see the overwritten/replaced records with Zero values as well the same records with new values i.e. same record with in 2 lines one with zero value and other with replaced value.How i can restrict that only new record should be shown in Query.

As in InfoCube if a new record is inserted with same key fields it add the previous record with -ve values and new record with new values having same key fields.Now i can see these records in Info-Cube but when it comes to query it shows all the records ,one with the zero value and the same with the new values.Question is how i can restrict the record with zero value.

Data in ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube) are in Sync.

Hi,
My query is built on multiprovider. The data flow is data source u2013 ODS then ODS u2013 Info cube and multiprovider contains Info cube only.
Data in ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube) are in Sync.
The query results are not tie up ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube).
Any one let me know why this is happening and how do I resolve it.

Delta records are not loading from DSO to info cube

My query is about delta loading from DSO to info cube. (Filter used in selection)
Delta records are not loading from DSO to Info cube. I have tried all options available in DTP but no luck.
Selected "Change log" and "Get one request only" and run the DTP, but 0 records got updated in info cube
Selected "Change log" and "Get all new data request by request", but again 0 records got updated
Selected "Change log" and "Only get the delta once", in that case all delta records loaded to info cube as it was in DSO and gave error message "Lock Table Overflow" .
When I run full load using same filter, data is loading from DSO to info cube.
Can anyone please help me on this to get delta records from DSO to info cube?

Data is loading in case of full load with the same filter, so I don't think filter is an issue.
When I follow below sequence, I get lock table overflow error;
1. Full load with active table with or without archive
2. Then with the same setting if I run init, the final status remains yellow and when I change the status to green manually, it gives lock table overflow error.
When I chnage the settings of DTP to init run;
1. Select change log and get only one request, and run the init, It is successfully completed with green status
2. But when I run the same DTP for delta records, it does not load any data.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Adding a new key figure to Info Cube

Can I add a new key figure to an existing Info cube in which data is loaded?
Assume that In Info Cube we have the following.
Stu Id -- Characteristic
Maths , Physics , Chemistry -- Key figures
These are the info objects which are already available and transfer rules are already available for the same in the infosource.
Could any one let me know how to add one more new key figure (total ) , which is the sum of the three marks to the Info Cube and populate the data in to the same.
I have tried the following steps , but could not get the solution.
1). Create a new key figure info object (total).
2). Add the same to the communication and pull the same into transfer rules of the existing info source and activate the same.
3). Add the new key figure to the info cube.
4). Open transfer rules for the info cube and change the mode from NO updation to Addition for the particular key figure (total).
When I perform the 4th step it is giving a red symbol beside the key figure in update rules and I'm not able to activate the same.
Any help on how to add key figures to update rules and transfer rules is highly appreciated and points would be assigned.

1.add new Keyfigure to Infocube.
2.Go to Update rules> go to update type of that Keyfigure>selct formula in update method>create new formula>here you can add up your 3 keyfigures-->OK.
activate update rules and InfoProvider.Check all are active or not..
by using Export generate datasouce ,you populate data(historical data) to new keyfigure as well.Then you have to delete historical data requests.
or iyou can create formula in query designer as well as srinivas suggested.that would be better option.

Non-Cumulative Info-Cube (0BUS_AREA)

I have a non-cumulative Info-Cube that as only marked 0PLANT and 0CALDAY in the u201CMaintain Non-Cumulative Valuesu201D.
When we execute the query, the stocks for the 0PLANT work fine. But, when we do the drill-down by 0BUS_AREA it doesnu2019t work. Is it possible for a cube like this to give this information?

Query on Cube Property.

Hi All,
As per reporting requirement, most of the reports are daily reports and it is based on status. For each service Order they will be changing of different status.As per BW, only the finalized data can upload it into the cube. Most of reports in BW is keep on changing the status and this requirement can achieve only with ODS level. Compared to Info Cube, ODS will have less performance in reporting side. But this reporting requirement can achieve only in ODS.
With this requirements, can we able to use info cube ?
I have analysed and got some inputs from my friend.
Can you suggest whether this will workout in the cube or not.
If i am loading data at Service_order level into infocube, Create a KYF and use it as a flag (1 or -1). Then for every new status, load data with the KYF as 1, then on change make the old status as -1 and the new status as 1.
When Status A,
        Status = "A", KYF = 1.
When Status B,
        Status = "A", KYF = -1.
        Status = "B", KYF = 1.
and so on .....
So at any point of time, the Status whose sum(KYF) = 1 is the active status, that you can manage at the report level through a global Calc KYF.
My query is how can i set (1 and -1) for each record and how the record will update in the cube.
Pls suggest on this..

Hi Ram,
As your friend suggested you can work out that way, But Before loading directly into the Infocube , Just load it to DSO, then from there populate into the Infocube, Add a Keyfigure in the Infocube. For the First time load it into the Infocube , make the KF as 1 . then in the second load or the delta load, check the record modes if a status is changed, if you are getting after image and before image then you can always multiply the before image with -1 for the same KF. In this way you can nullify the value 1 for the old record and your new record always comes with 1 giving you the latest record.

use the master data infoobject and insert that infoobject as a infoprovider and design a query using this infoprovider and view your query on this master data in Bex Query...

I have Standard ODS and the keyfigures in ODS are
1. Service Order Number.
2. User Status.
3. User Date.
4. User Time
Data field in ODS is
1. Active Flag.
Active flag gives the information of the current status for each service Order.
User Status is the status of each service Order.
User Date and User time gives the information about at what time date and time, the
status is set.Right now the history of data is available in ODS.

In my report i want to show only the service Order which is in Closed Status and also Active Flag =A only. Due to Overwrite option, i am getting only one Active Status.If i create a report on ODS, i am getting the right data and it is working fine.I have filter with ACTIVE FLAG =A and in report it is showing only the Active Status of the service Order.
Suppose if i load the same data to the Cube, I cant get the expected one.

Flat File: no data load into Info Cube

i try to load a flat file. When I simulate the upload its works well. But no Data was load in my Info Cube. When I try define a query there are no available.

in addition to A.H.P.'s marks, check if
- Data is posted not only into PSA but also into datatarget,
- updaterules are active.
- Check Monitor-Status in Cube-Administration
- Check availabilitiy for reporting of the request wthin Cube-Administration.

Release of History from Info Cube to Planning Area

Hi Experts,
I am using program /SAPAPO/RTSINPUT_CUBE to load sales history data from Info Cube to Planning area. Most of the data gets loaded but for few CVCs we get following message: -
549 combinationens of InfoCube are not contained in the BasisPlobStru
While checking up these CVCs in transaction /SAPAPO/MC62 and Planning Book I can see that these CVC exist and data is also visible.
Could anyone please help me out with the reason and what should be done to encounter this.

First of sincere apologies for not having read the query completely.
regarding your query on 549 combinationens of InfoCube are not contained in the BasisPlobStru, as you have stated that the CVCs exist in the MPOS.
But can you please check if the CVCs maintained in the MPOS are the exact CVCs that are mentioned in the messgae. For example, the message is for location product sales org Country. Can you check if the CVC exists for this combination for which the forecast is being loaded from the source? For example it is possible that data is being loaded for Loc1 Prod1 SalesOrg1 Country1, but the CVC exists for Loc1 Prod1 SalesOrg2 Country1, then such message appears.
So can you check if the exact CVCs are exisitng in the MPOS as indicated in the messages?

Reading data from ODS is the best choice provided (1) you have full key, (2) there is an index on ODS for the search fields, or (3) ODS doesn't have too many records.
If performance starts becoming an issue (due to the lack of one of the three conditions mentioned above), you have no other choice but to read from the cube and only reliable way to query a cube is to use the function module mentioned earlier.

ODS objects and Info-cubes

Could someone clarify my understanding of the difference between ODS and basic cubes?
My understanding is that the ODS is updated from R/3 and is a flat structure, or a basic database which is write-optimised. The data in the ODS is then updated into the info-cube at a more summarised level.
The info-cube provides enhanced reporting capability because it is structured as a star-schema which introduces additional dimenions (via the dimension tables) to enrich the contents of the fact table.
Does the ODS update both fact table and dimension table in the star schema?

If that doesn't solve your concern... then go ahead
1.ODS is a two dimensional object
2.ODS is a datastore where you can store data at a very granular level.
3.Technically there is the option to overwrite or add single records.
4.ODS can be used for detailed level of reporting( same as in r/3),
(cube can be used for aggregate level of reporting.)
5.ODS are used to consolidate data
1.Whereas cube is a based on multidimensional modeling which facilitates reporting on diff dimensions.
2.The data is stored in an aggregated form unlike ODS and have no overwriting capability.
3. Reporting and analysis can be done on multidimensions unlike on ODS
4. InfoCubes are optimized for reporting
5. There are options to improve performance like aggregates and compression.
5. It is not possible to replace single records, all records sent to InfoCube will be added up.
You may get a doubt why first load to ODS and then to Infocube, the strategy of adding ODS
in dataflow is termed as addtion of EDW(Enterprise Datawarehouse) layer which will allow
us to retrieve data within BW if at all some thing goes wrong & we lose data from InfoCube.
We can get the data from ODS itselft into cube without going to the source sytem again.
