Webi Report as a Hyperlink

Hi
Is there anyway I can execute a Webi report outside the infoview using a hyperlink?   My requirement to put a Webi report in CRM Web UI. If I can get a URL for the Webi report it can be achived.
Thanks in advance
Nisha

Hi Ramaks, George and other experts,
Thanks a lot for your replies.
For my client, the developers will build most of the reports for regular users to view. However, some power users may also create their own reports to meet ad-hoc reporting requirements.
It's quite unlikely for my client to develop reports based on Excel or CSV data files. And we need to use features such as hyperlink for documents (which is not available in Rich Client). Based on these considerations, I'm thinking of doing all development in InfoView (both developers and power users). Do you foresee any issue if I go for this approach?
Thanks in advance.

  • How can we hyperlink a WEBI report to a .PDF or .DOC in any location?

    Hi All,
         I have a WEBI report which has a column called Country(Values US, UK). I have some .pdf files in my local machine and BOE server. Could anyone let me know how can I hyperlink the report to the .pdf in my local machine and in the server. There are two cases as below as questions to be answered.
    Case 1
    When I click on country column, a single .pdf file should open irrespective of the column values in my local machine/server
    Case 2
    When I click on country column, a .pdf file should open with respect to the column values in my local machine/server
    I would be grateful if it is answered asap.
    Thanks and Regrads

  • Webi Reports Hyperlinks on top of OLAP Universe

    Hi Webi Gurus,
    my BoBJ version 3.1 sp3
    BW-OLAP universe.
    I checked below Link for the solution, but couldn't
    get answer, as these are based on relational universes.
    /people/erika.atencio2/blog/2011/04/14/creating-hyperlinks-between-webi-reports-in-infoview
    I have a OLAP universe. On top of it, there are two reports
    One parent report and one child report.
    Question: I have a column called Auction Id on parent report.
    Now, when I click on any of the Auction Id values, child report
    should only bring data for that Auction Id alone and not other Auction Ids.
    In the child report, I have Auction Id as query filter.
    Now while in Webi's Interactive Mode, I chose the option
    Select Column--> Create Hyperlink --> Link to a document -->
    Document prompts: Prompt User in runtime.
    This option works fine.
    However, when I change the Document Prompt to:
             Select Object (or) Build Formula
    report throws MDX error, during run-time,
    Please suggest.
    MDX error:
    ========================================================================
    The query failed to execute with the error Value for the Characteristic.....WIS 10901
    ==================================================================================
    Regards,
    AK

    Still getting error...I tried this
    >> 1. In the detail webi report, create a query filter for AuctionID and use Equal operator. Give the prompt text as ActionID.
    AK: Done
    >> 3. In the column properties, in the display section select display cell content as HTML.
    AK: Done
    When I provide the URL and Parse it throws following error.
    "Invalid identifier a at position 15. (WIS 10022) "
    I gave following URL and parsed it.
    ="<a href="http://sapbojdev:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?
    iDocID=18774&lsSAuction ID="URLEncode([Auction ID])"&sRefresh=Y
    Q: Is there any problem with syntax?
    Q: Secondly, for OLAP universe based webi report , can't we use the hyperlink option:
    Link to  Document
    Thanks,

  • Images as Hyperlinks in webi reports

    Hi,
    I’m trying to link two webi reports (summary through Details) through Open doc syntax using Images in a cell.
    We have a requirement to link two webi reports (summary through Detail) using buttons (like Back & email) as images which will be embedded in to the cell and made hyperlink.
    I found many articles on "Hyper linking on the images" between 2 webi reports (summary to detail) using open doc syntax which did not help much. So I am starting a new thread.
    I’ve 2 scenarios happening, after the images being placed on the server - (…/usr/bobj/<installation Directory>/enterprise/images) –
    1st Scenario – Right click on the cell contents, make it read as “hyperlink” and set appearance to “boimg://image-name.png”
    Result: Image appears and there is no link. Cursor does not changes or no place to click.
    2nd Scenario – Read the image directly into Ahref tag as - <img src=\” boimg://image-name.png\”>
    Result: The link works perfectly fine. But, in the image place holder, a big “RED X” appears.
    The steps -
    - Placed a blank cell
    - Right click -> Appearance -> Image from Address:  boimg://image-name.png
    - Read contents as "Hyperlink" (at this point, tested the cell, image appears fine, but no link appears!)
    - Right Click on the same cell -> Document Link -> pass the values of the related objects -> Parse
    - Also Include the <img src=\” boimg://image-name.png\”> in the AHref tag generated by the system after open doc call
    - In the cell, both the image and the big RED X appears - image does not have a link and the big red X has link but no image. So basically nothing works!
    We are on BO 4.1 SP1.
    Experts please help!

    Hi Fahid,
    You can try the below steps which are pretty simple. It worked fine for me. For this I used an image object placed in ROOT directory of a web application server.
    1.
    Add a blank cell
    2.
    Right-click on the blank cell and select “Format cell”
    3.
    Under “General” specify Read content as “Hyperlink”
    4.
    Apply >> OK
    5.
    Right click on the cell >> "Edit Formula" >> Use the following formula
    ="<html><a href='http://localhost:8080' target='_blank'><img src = 'http://localhost:8080/sample.png' /></a></html>"
    Hope this helps.

  • Characteristic values as hyperlinks in a web report

    Hi All
    I have a web report with only one characteristic and some key figures. And the number of values for that characteristics are 5 and they are always fixed (structure). In my report I need to make each of that characteristic value a hyper link. I have 5 separate reports which should  be linked to these 5 characteristic values.
    I think this can be achieved by using a table interface. If yes, could any one please provide me with the code for the method CHARACTERISTIC_CELL in the ABAP class?
    Or, is there any other better solution?
    Points will be assigned!
    Thank you

    Its very simple! Check this out
    [http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-bw/web-based-reporting-jump-target-to-another-query-by-one-click-489775]
    Regarding modifying the existing methods, in the 'Methods' tab select a method you want to redefine and click on the 'Redefine' button. And then double click on the method name, it takes you to the editor screen where you write your code.
    [Screen shot!|http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/5796/tableinterfacexc8.jpg]
    Use the 'CHARACTERISITC_CELL' method to adjust the contents of cells containing values for characteristics.
    'STRUCTURE_CELL'  to adjust the contents of structural components. i.e. if you are using a structure in your query.
    'DATA_CELL' to adjust the contents of data cells (cells where key figure values are displayed).
    Sample code:
    method CHARACTERISTIC_CELL.

  • Linking a WEBI report through hyperlink in a webpage using open document

    Hi All,
    I have a hyper link in a web page which when clicked should open a WEBI report. I created it using the open document feature.
    Once clicking on the link, InfoView login credential page is displayed. After logging in the report runs.
    My client does not want the login page to be displayed since most of the users does not remember their password (since SSO is implemented).
    He wants to bypass this login page so that most of the users can directly view the reports.
    Question:
    Is there a way to achieve this i.e without asking for login credentials or by passing this?
    Possibilities :
    1: To create ID's for all the people (which I think is not a feasible option in my project)
    2: Create a guest account with minimum privileges and share the password with all the users.
    Note:
    1: I use BO XI R 3.1.
    2: No SDK is installed to do any programming.
    Any suggestion are most welcome.
    Thanks in advance
    Shreyas

    Hi Shreyas,
    Manual Easy Way for doing the activity in SAP Business Objects 4.0:
    This method is useful if we have a special system account that we want everyone to use.
    You will notice that all we do is generate a logon token using the appropriate username, password and CMS variables. Then we append the token onto ivsLogonToken.
    Note: The numbers on the url after /BOE/portal represents the timestamp of the last patch or install.  You can put whatever you want under the number section and Business Objects will automatically redirect to the appropriate start.do
    Step I:
    Go to the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\eclipse\plugins\webpath.InfoView directory and edit custom.jsp
    Step II:
    You can copy the contents from the custom.jsp that I’ve provided below to your custom.jsp.
    Cutom.JSP File
    <%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException" %>
    <%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.*" %>
    <%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.*" %>

    boolean loggedIn = true;

    Edit the username,Password & BOBJ Server Name'in BOLD Letter
    Step III:
    Stop tomcat, then delete contents in the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work directory.
    Then start tomcat again and the work directory will be regenerated with new code.
    Step IV:
    Trusted Authentication:
    Trusted Authentication is a component of Enterprise authentication that integrates with third-party single sign-on solutions, including Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS). Applications
    that have established trust with the Central Management Server can use Trusted Authentication to allow users to log on without providing their passwords.
    This method is really cool because users don’t even have to know their passwords.  Basically with this method you can log into another system and if that system has the appropriate user name, you can pass it to the custom.jsp and then it will log you into BI Launchpad.
    In addition, you don’t need to create any java code for the enterprise token setup.
    Step V:
    In the CMC, go to Authentication, then select Enterprise.  Check Trusted Authentication is enabled, then click on New Shared Secret.  Finally download the shared secret key and keep it somewhere secure
    Step VI:
    Copy global.properties from <INSTALLDIR>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\warfiles\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\default into <INSTALLDIR>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\warfiles\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom.  Then using Notepad or another text editing utility, edit the following properties
    sso.enabled=true
    trusted.auth.user.retrieval=WEB_SESSION
    trusted.auth.user.param=UserName
    trusted.auth.shared.secret=<secret code from properties file you created in step 2>
    Step VII:
    Go to the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\eclipse\plugins\webpath.InfoView directory and edit custom.jsp
    <\!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

    request.getSession().setAttribute("UserName", "Daya");
    %>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Custom Entry Point</title>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function goToLogonPage() {
    window.location = "logon.jsp";
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <a href="javascript:goToLogonPage()">Click this to go to the logon page of BI launch pad</a>
    </body>
    Edit the username(Daya) variable
    Step VIII:
    Stop tomcat, then delete contents in the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work directory.
    Then start tomcat again and the work directory will be regenerated with new code.
    Hope this help you as well.
    Thanks,

  • How to open hyperlink(target Webi report) in new tab in BOXI3.1

    Hi all,
    Currently we are using report link using hyperlink syntax between summary report and transaction report.
    We were able to open transaction report either new window or same window.
    *"<a href="http://<servername>:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid;iDocID=108&sWindow=New&lsSEnterJOBID:="UserResponse([Query 1];"Enter JOBID:")"&lsSEnterAccount:="URLEncode([Account]) ">"[Description]"</a> * "
    Summary report(Source report) is having one parameter: JOBID
    Transaction report(Target report) is has two parameters: JOBID and Account
    Now our client requirement is target report needs to be shown in same window but in new tab.
    Is it posssible in BOXI3.1,if yes kindly provide me syntax.

    When I try, the child report bombs and I receive an error message.
    FYI, I am able to pass the values of BO Query Prompts from my parent report to my child report.   The issue is with BEX variables?
    Is there a solution?  Can this be done??
    Thanks

    Stratos,
    Thanks for your reply.
    My BO Webi report is based off a BEX Query, which generates the Universe used for my BO Report.
    The Bex Query has a Variable Prompt that becomes a Filter/Prompt in my BO Universe & Report.
    Here is the OpenDoc URL for this
    "<a href=\"/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=MFD1-OrderHeader&sType=wid&sPath=%5BMarketingAnalysis%5D&lsSReporting Start Date:="[DT CMB]"&lsSReporting End Date:="[DT CME]"&lsSSKU:="([L01 Material Key])[CHP][CCP][UTP][MSP*][PRDP][CTP][PTP][DIVP][REGP][STSP][STZP][ATP][OPP][ORP][STCCP][ONP]"\" title=\"Order Header Drill Down\" target=\"_blank\" nav=\"web\">"[Orders Placed CM]"</a>"
    The embedded  variable, in the URL above,  for the Bex Query Filter is below
    Variable - [PRDP]
    =If(IsPromptAnswered("Product:");"&lsMProduct:="URLEncode(UserResponse("Product:"))"")
    This is the Where Clause from the Condition properites of  Bex Query Varible in the Universe (yellow filter)
    <OPTIONAL><FILTER KEY="[!V000002]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="InList"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Product:','A','Material2 with updash\LovHierNodeL03 MaterialBase',multi,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER></OPTIONAL>
    All my other WEBI Query prompts pass just fine.  The problem again, is trying to pass a SAP BW Variable that is contain in the Bex Query.
    I receive an error (WIS 10901)on my child report when I try to execute the drill down from the Parent report when I populate the Bex Variable Prompt on My BO Webi Parent Report.  (again this only happens with the BEX variable, all other prompts work fine and pass the values with no issues).
    Thanks for any help you may provide.

  • Jump in a WebI report from report A to report B (BI4)

    Hi all,
    Within my WebI document I want to jump from the first report to a specific report in de total WebI report. Is this possible with the OpenDocument function?
    An example:
    Column A    |   Column B
    Value 1       |   KeyFigure 1
    Value 2       |   KeyFigure 1
    My customer wants to click on "Value 1" and then jump to a report (same WebI document) with details of Value 1.
    When clicking on "Value 2", he needs to jump to a report with details of Value 2.
    Hope this scenario is possible in BI4 WebI or do I need to wait on the RRI functionality?
    Can anyone help me?
    Regards,
    Pieter

    The problem with the value "#UNAVAILABLE" is solved. In this case I created a variable with the in-operator:
    =[Spend 2011] In ([Segment type])
    Now I want to jump to another report in my WebI document. For this scenario I created a new variable (with name test) with the formula:
    =If [Segment type] = "FACILITIES" Then "Facilities_detail"
    ElseIf [Segment type] = "HR" Then "HR_detail"
    ElseIf [Segment type] = "ICT" Then "ICT_detail"
    ElseIf [Segment type] = "MARCOM" Then "Marcom_detail"
    ElseIf [Segment type] = "NOG TE SEGM." Then "Nog_te_segm_detail"
    The dynamic Element sReportname I defined as: ="[test]".
    After these steps, the hyperlink will not work with my dynamic Segment Type. Did anyone have this experience and how can i solve this?

    Pieter

  • WIS 10901 when WebI report is scheduled.

    Hi,
    When I schedule a webi report in the Infoview, it is failed with the error "A database error occured. The database error text is: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. (WIS 10901) "
    My webi report has data from different universes which has connections to MySQL database, MS Access, and SAP BW.
    Please help me resolve this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    While troubleshooting, the first point you have to consider is that: Which version of BusinessObjects Enterprise you are using.
    Then check the below:
    - The type and version of driver you are using with your databases.
    - Was this report running before?
    - if not since when it has started behaving so?
    - How are you linking the universes?
    - Have tried running reports individually on the individual universes and are you getting data then?
    Are you using any hyperlink object in your report and is that linking with the SAP BW query?
    If you digg in to the above and find that the issue is with the SAP BW query, then you can raise in the forums for Integration Kit and include the details on the hyperlink you trying to create

  • Include a Glossary Page in a Webi report for report documentation

    Hi experts,
    My client would like to include a Glossary Page at the start/end of each Webi report. This page should include documentation/explanation of each dimension detail, measure, formula, etc shown on the report.
    I cannot find any designated location in the Webi report for documentation purpose. Assuming I have created this documentation in a word/html document, what is the easiest way of including this info in the Webi report?
    So far I can think of 2 options:
    1) Include a new report with one or more blank cells, and paste the text from the word/html document into the blank cell.
    Pros: Can be printed out together with the report contents (print both reports together).
    Cons: Considerable effort with creating this page
    2) Include a blank cell in the original/separate report, and insert a hyperlink for this word/html document into the blank cell.
    Pros: Less effort involved
    Cons: Cannot be printed out together with the report contents
    Besides these 2 options, are there better ways of creating the Glossary page?
    Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
    Linda

    We do something similiar in that users cannot create a new document.  Users can only copy and edit the existing template for new reports.  The template has standard headers, footers and confidentiality statements that are required on all reports.
    Here are some of the standard formulas we include in the header/documentation report tab:
    ="Report Title: "+DocumentName()
    ="Run User: "+CurrentUser()
    ="Run Date: "+LastExecutionDate()
    =If (DocumentPartiallyRefreshed();"Your document contains partial data only")
    =DocumentName()
    =DataProviderSQL([Query 1])
    These formulas automatically fill in some of the basic data using option 1 from your list.

  • Link from BOBJ Webi report to CRM webUI screen

    Hi experts,
    I was wondering, if there's a way to create a link from Webi report (based on CRM data) to webUI content in CRM? For example, Webi report will have opportunity numbers. User will be able to click on the opportunity number and get to webUI screen where he could see opportunity details and maybe even modify it.
    Best regards,
    Vlad

    Hi,
    You can link Webi Document to webUI content in CRM with help of Hyperlink based on particular column then you need to parse the data.
    Once Parse button is clicked, it displays with the parts of the URL parsed into sections depending on parameters specified in OpenDocument URL.
    for more information kindly go through following document.
