Webi report display splits a column

Hi
fairly new to Webi so I hope this doesn't sound too basic. I have a Webi report that is 30 odd columns wide (this is currently BOXI R2 on Windows 2003); it's displayed in Landscape mode and splits several columns down the middle. How can you define where the vertical page breaks should be and/or which columns should not be split?
Cheers
Mark Gillis

Thanks for getting back. That's not quite the problem: it's a 'standard' Webi report (not a crosstab) and has over 40 columns. Even in landscape mode, that displays over 5 pages. The problem is vertical splits: I can fit columns 1 to 7 on page 1 and then column 8 is half on the first page and half on the second (this is displaying in Page mode in Infoview: I can display in Draft mode, of course, to get a full span display of the report).
What I'm trying to do is define the report so that when a user displays in Page mode columns do not get split. It may be that Draft mode is the only answer but I was hoping a setting would exist to say "don't split columns over pages".

    Hi
    We experienced this problem.
I am unsure if there is a more permanent workaround, but because we were writing pre-canned reports we just formatted the object(s) concerned at the report level:
select the data column, in the Properties pane, select Display, and set "Read cell contents as" - and I think we selected Text or HTML - can't remember which...
The problem with this is that I have a feeling that if the object causing the problem is used in other reports, then it will need this formatting change at report level each time ... afraid I don't know if there is something at the universe level that can stop this... but this might help you out in the short-term!
Let me know how you get on!

  • Interactive Report - Display New/Changed Columns

    Hi,
when I add or change a column in Interactive Reports, APEX doesn't show me the new column automatically.
Everytime the user log in, he has to go on "Actions" and "Select Columns" manually, otherwise the new/changed column won't be displayed.
How can I do that the column is displayed automatically after login?
    I am using APEX 4.0.2.00.07.
    Regards,
    Marc

Either you, as a Developer, can save the report as Public.
Or an aithorized user can save the report as a General/Shared Report.
Or the user can save the report as a Private one.
Pick the columns you/user wants to see. Then [Action -> Save]

  • Ora9i Rpt Dvlpr doesn't display clob in web report

I've got simple table with clob data:
    CREATE TABLE TAB_CLOB (
    ID NUMBER (12) NOT NULL,
    CLASS VARCHAR2 (3) NOT NULL,
    CONTENTS CLOB,
    with some data.
    Using SQL+ with this select:
    select * from TABLE_CLOB
finds and displays data in all three columns.
Paper report with the same select formula displays number, char and clob data, but web report displays only number and char data - doesn't display clobs.
    Suggestions?

This was an issue with 9.0.2 base release and has been fixed in Reports patches. Please apply Report 9.0.2.0.5 integrated patch for the fix.

  • Hide/Unhide Columns in WEBI Report output

We have a WEBI report which has 2 columns/measures to display the cost in EUR and USD. User would like to have the flexibility to filter the column so as to display USD or EUR cost column. Is it possible to hide/unhide column in WEBI. Can we have a input control on multiple measures so that user can dynamically select which measures they want to see on report.
Its possible in BEx Analyser using filter option on key figure. Is simillar functionality available in WEBI? We're on BO 3.1 XI. Is thre any other way to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Milind

    hi,
i think it is not possible to hide a column based on condition. but in webi 4.0 u have an option using which, u can hide/ show a table based on the user selection. in ur scenario, create two tables, one with value in USD and other in EU, super impose the table. then right onthe table and select "Format cell". in that u ll have a option to hide the table based on condition. select that and apply the condition.
see the follwoing url for more info : http://bihappyblog.com/2011/11/05/dynamic-visibility-in-webi/

  • Different column detail webi report

    Dear experts,
Is it possible to have a webi report with the following columns' layout:
    Country | Average 2009 | Jan 2010 | Feb 2010 | .... | Dec 2010 | Average 2010
I've created a variable directly in the webi report but I'm not able to have detail by month in 2010 and a column with the 2010 total.
    Any ideas?
    thank you!
    Best,
    Inês Santos

    Hey Inês,
    Country | Avg 2009 | Jan10 | Avg 2010 | Feb 2010 | Avg 2010 | .... | Dec 2010 | Avg 2010.
You're correct foreach Month-Year it will append one column, yesterday I didn't find enough time to see this.
    Solution:
    1. just drag Cross-tab from templates.
    2. In Column section(far left) Drop object.
    3. In Rows Just right-click on it and Say Insert row above.
    4. on Newly inserted row, Drag object
Note: object should contain only years only like 2009, 2010 etc...,
    5. In below row , just drag object (which has Jan10,Feb10 etc...,)
    6. Now Click on object and say Insert column right
Here, use formuls to calculate Avg(2009) == See my earlier post
    7. Now on Object , the top one (row), apply Break.
    8. It will append two columns for you. One is exact size with Column and one more with small size(white background). Here you can remove small one.
    9. Now on newly added/appended column , write Avg(2010) formula.
    10. On object (top one== row), go to properties == Make Text and Back ground color to White and Width and height to 0(Zero- it will take 4 pixels== which is default)
Now you can see exact report, what you are trying to achieve.
I tried and tested. Hope it should work for you.
    Thank You!!

  • How can we hyperlink a WEBI report to a .PDF or .DOC in any location?

    Hi All,
I have a WEBI report which has a column called Country(Values US, UK). I have some .pdf files in my local machine and BOE server. Could anyone let me know how can I hyperlink the report to the .pdf in my local machine and in the server. There are two cases as below as questions to be answered.
    Case 1
When I click on country column, a single .pdf file should open irrespective of the column values in my local machine/server
    Case 2
When I click on country column, a .pdf file should open with respect to the column values in my local machine/server
I would be grateful if it is answered asap.

  • Q: SAP BI Hierarchy look in WebI report

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a WebI report displaying a hierarhcy and some measures. I wonder if there is any way to get the report to look more like a classic SAP report displaying hiearchies?
    Something like the following example:
    1) First view of the report:
    Hier. Level 1:  $300
    2) Choose to drill down to next level:
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $100
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $200
Currently if I make a report with the design in 1 above and drill down; "Hier. Level 1" will be exchanged with "Hier. Level 2" and no longer displayed. I still want to see the top level of the hierarchy after the drill down.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions,
    Best regards,
    Mikael

    Hi Amr,
Thank you for your response. I have read the post and the manual, but the problem is not to define the drill down, the problem is to get the result displayed as I want.
    Currently;
    We have:
    Hier. Level 1: $300
    and drill down we get:
    Hier Level 2: $100
    Hier Level 2: $200
    I want:
    We have:
    Hier. Level 1: $300
    and drill down we get:
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $100
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $200
    or:
    We have:
    Hier. Level 1: $300
    and drill down we get:
    Hier. Level 1
         - Hier Level 2: $100
         - Hier Level 2: $200
    Any other ideas?
    Best regards,
    Mikael

  • WEBI Report values Double as compared to BI/BEX Report.........

    Hi,
I am trying a report in BOBJ. When I run the WEBI report it doubles the Column values as compared to BI report. There are no filters, conditions or anything in the report. Tried purging the data and running the report but no change. has anyone come across this situation and if so how did you resolve it? Please let me know.

    Hello Shruti,
as you refer to a Webi problem I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Web Intelligence|SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence; forum.

  • Max number of columns in a Webi report

In a worst-case scenario test, I requested about 1700 columns in a Webi report, but only a little more than 300 appeared in the SQL; a TOAD request for the same 1700 columns was successful. Is there an upper limit for the number of objects that can appear in a Webi report? Is there a parameter that could increase the limit?

My eyes read the first half and my brian assumed the second half.
I dont think there is a limitaion on the number of objects that a WebI report can pull.
The only limitation I know of is the maximum number of column that you can display in the report panel; the max number is 100,000.
With the limit on the max number of column diplay in a WebI report can be translated into the max number of columns in the query panel.

  • Long Texts in BI: displaying in Web report using WAD

    Hi, Gurus!
    Assumtion is that:
    *) user uses EP portal to access BI reports;
    *) these reports are pre-formatted, preferably-static, and with print option (maybe via xls or pdf format);
    *) Win Gui is NOT an option to use in EP;
    Here is the Question:
Is there any ready-made recipe how to get BI reports containing Long Texts on web (most possibly by using WAD - Web Application Designer)?
There are two great blogs by Eugene Khusainov:
    *) <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3766">https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3766</a>
    *) <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3768">https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3768</a>
These ones deal with this question in Bex WorkBook.
I'm looking for similar solution as in above mentioned blogs, but only for the web (EP). Thus would like to get your opinion before reinventing the wheel.
Thanks a lot in advance for all ideas!
    --- Kaspars
P.S. Have gone through several SAP docs, but had not find an exact solution...
P.S.S. in case you have some ready-made-docs, please use the following e-mail: [email protected]

    Hi, Prakash!
Thank you for the suggestions! The document you mentioned is a very good as such. However in my case it doesn't seem to be a solution.
Could you please elaborate on your comment regarding "rendering with XSL" ...?
    Thanks,
    --- Kaspars
NOTE to clarify 'static': I am not looking for a precalculated report/document. It should be like a normal query. But from a users point-of-view it is just a report he/she can ONLY print out. That's it; no drill-downs, no filtering, no nothing.
Wouldn't there be these long texts (texts in several columns, that should be displayed as one column) + header & footer formatting;... Then I could use regular EP iView template (and pure query made in BEx Query Designer as data source within it).
NOTE 2: user just have to click on a hyperlink in EP to access this report. No parameters should be submitted by user.

  • Freezing columns and rows in Web reports

    Hi Gurus,
We are trying to freeze the scrolling of first two columsns and the first row for a web report. Could you please guide me how can we do this for a analysis web item.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Raj,
You can lock the headers of the table columns by selecting the table, Select the properties windows and No. of Rows scrolled at each step & No. of rows displayed.
On most monitors 25 is a good number and this allows the use jump 25 rows up / down the table view.
    Hope this might help,
    Regards
    Gill
