Webi Report with two drill down paths

HI All,
I have a requirement to build two different drill down paths in a report , i think i need to create custom hiearchies for that,
can anyone give me information/links regarding.
please help!!

Hi Yogz,
In Universe Designer,
From u2018Toolsu2019 menu, click on Hierarchies.
Choose the desired class from u2018Default Hierarchiesu2019 panel. Add it to the u2018Custom Hierarchiesu2019 area.
Click OK then on Click Save > Export.
In Web Intelligence document :
Add the dimension that is at the top of the hierarchy to the report.
Click Drill under the u2018Edit Reportu2019 tab. and then Save the report

Navigate to a different report from the Drill down path

Hi,
I have a question regarding the navigation.
I have a summarized report showing the fields City, Year and Count.
Now the user has the privilege to drill down on the Day dimension. He can drill down from Year to Quarter to Month to Day.
Is there a way for me to provide a navigation path at the Day level. Lets say when the user clicks on the Date then he has to be navigated to a different report showing the detailed report.
Since my summarized report does not have the fields Date I cannot provide the navigation path. The Date field is displayed only in the drill down path and I am not sure how to proivde the path.
Can anyone throw their inputs into this?

hi,
i don't think there exists any out-of-the box solution through front-end.
If you know what fields appear on the detail report, provide a PRE-DEFINED drill path in the rpd to all the columns from the date column.

Crystal Report with interactive drill down

Hello,
   I have crystal which fetching data which look like something:
     Page Header:       Jan Feb    Mar    Apr
   Grp1-Customer      100 200    150   200
    Grp2 - Partner1     10   40       46     60
               Partner2      32   90       42     55
               Partner3     58    70       62     85
     The KFs are sum for restricted KF for each month for account balance. They are added in Detail tab and sum up to each group level.
        Now user what to see:          If he click on 100 ---> list of all banks & accounts for Customer for Jan.
          If he click on   85 ---> List of all banks & accounts for customer / partnerp3 for Apr.
          So, I created a on demand sub report where I can pass Customer and Partner to get the details but I can not pass CalMonth.
          I see some possible options:
            (1) Is there any way {formula or something} where I can catch where user is clicking i.e. tooltip or veriable name.
            (2) Or any best way tou know.

    Please note: I do not want add group for banks and accounts. User will have to click to mant times. After above report display, it should be one click all.

Poor performance with WebI and BW hierarchy drill-down...

Hi
We are currently implementing a large HR solution with BW as backend
and WebI and Xcelcius as frontend. As part of this we are experiencing
very poor performance when doing drill-down in WebI on a BW hierarchy.
In general we are experiencing ok performance during selection of data
and traditional WebI filtering - however when using the BW hierarchy
for navigation within WebI, response times are significantly increasing.
The general solution setup are as follows:
1) Business Content version of the personnel administration
infoprovider - 0PA_C01. The Infoprovider contains 30.000 records
2) Multiprovider to act as semantic Data Mart layer in BW.
3) Bex Query to act as Data Mart Query and metadata exchange for BOE.
All key figure restrictions and calculations are done in this Data Mart
Query.
4) Traditionel BO OLAP universe 1:1 mapped to Bex Data Mart query. No
calculations etc. are done in the universe.
5) WebI report with limited objects included in the WebI query.
As we are aware that performance is an very subjective issues we have
created several case scenarios with different dataset sizes, various
filter criteria's and modeling techniques in BW.
Furthermore we have tried to apply various traditional BW performance
tuning techniques including aggregates, physical partitioning and pre-
calculation - all without any luck (pre-calculation doesn't seem to
work at all as WebI apparently isn't using the BW OLAP cache).
In general the best result we can get is with a completely stripped WebI report without any variables etc.
and a total dataset of 1000 records transferred to WebI. Even in this scenario we can't get
each navigational step (when using drill-down on Organizational Unit
hierarchy - 0ORGUNIT) to perform faster than minimum 15-20 seconds per.

That is each navigational step takes 15-20 seconds
with only 1000 records in the WebI cache when using drill-down on org.
unit hierachy !!.
Running the same Bex query from Bex Analyzer with a full dataset of
30.000 records on lowest level of detail returns a threshold of 1-2
seconds pr. navigational step thus eliminating that this should be a BW
modeling issue.
As our productive scenario obviously involves a far larger dataset as
well as separate data from CATS and PT infoproviders we are very
worried if we will ever be able to utilize hierarchy drill-down from
WebI ?.
The question is as such if there are any known performance issues
related to the use of BW hierarchy drill-down from WebI and if so are
there any ways to get around them ?.
As an alternative we are currently considering changing our reporting
strategy by creating several higher aggregated reports to avoid
hierarchy navigation at all. However we still need to support specific
division and their need to navigate the WebI dataset without
limitations which makes this issue critical.

Hi Henry, thank you for your suggestions although i´m not agree with you that 20 seconds is pretty good for that navigation step. The same query executed with BEx Analyzer takes only 1-2 seconds to do the drill down.
Actions
suppress unassigned nodes in RSH1: Magic!! This was the main problem!!
tick use structure elements in RSRT: Done it.
enable query stripping in WebI: Done it.
upgrade your BW to SP09: Has the SP09 some inprovements in relation to this point ?
use more runtime query filters. : Not possible. Very simple query.
Others:
RSRT combination H-1-3-3-1 (Expand nodes/Permanent Cache BLOB)
Uncheck prelimirary Hierarchy presentation in Query. only selected.
Check "Use query drill" in webi properties.
Sorry for this mixed message but when i was answering i tryied what you suggest in relation with supress unassigned nodes and it works perfectly. This is what is cusing the bottleneck!! incredible...

Saving WebI report with links to desktop in pdf format

I have a user who is asking if a WebI report with drill down links can be saved to his desktop as a pdf and still have the links work. Has anyone had the same request?

it´s ocurrs because the drill down that you have in the query, try with another query and export this to a PDF and if you can access ... is that is not possible to use the link for a drill down in a PDF.

MCSI report with two dimension

In MCSI, it is possible to get sales report according to a group of criterias and to drill down according to an other group of criterias. However it would be also convenient to to get a sales report with two dimensions instead of drilling down in order to analyze with Excel Pivot Table. Is there a way to create a specific structure or something to get it done?

However the two dimension that can be used do come from the first drill down criterias list. However it seems not possible to select a dimension from the second lists with the matrix function. Is there a way to stil get it from the second list as well ?

Web Analysis does not drill down (Essbase datasource)

Hi!
I have a web analysis document which does not drill down to next level when double clicking on a parent level. In my report I have children of Area dimension selected individually and their parent on rows ( this means I have not used selection where I select only top member and its children; this is because one of the children should not be in the report). This is not an security issue, because I have admin rights to the essbase cube.
Usually when double-clicking on a member in report it should drill down to next level. This report does not drill down.
The strange thing is that if I select "Keep Only" for the top member of that dimension and then double-click it then drills down nicely???
When using a excel add-in and retrieving data there the same kind of report drills down without problems. Any ideas why this drill down does not work properly in Workspace (and also in Web Analysis Stuidio) ?

Hi!
I checked out the dimension in question. It seems to have implied shares (parent having only one child). There seems to be implied shares in almost all child hierarchies which might explain the web analysis behaviour.
We are using V11. The application is an aggregate storage application.

One Webi Report with multiple Cascade Prompts

I have a requirement to create Cascading prompts on WebI reports. I have two questions.
1) Can one Webi report have two or more sets of Cascading prompts.
2) The universe is used by several groups of business useres. But only one group needs to have a Cascade prompts. Therefore, if i create Cascading prompts on Universe what is the impact to other business users who dont want the prompts as cascading prompts.
Please provide me this information.

1. copy existing universe as universe II.
2. link Universe II to Universe 1.
3. Create cascade prompts on Universe II.
4. Provide access to Business group with the requirement of cascade prompts to Universe II and rest of the groups to Universe I.
Please let me know if my understanding is right.

Report with two Command is empty if one of the two commands returns no data

I have a report with two Commands not linked together.
If ONLY one of the two Commands returns no data, the full report is empty (although the other Command returns data).
I'm using Crystal Report 2008 and the CRJ 12.2.205

Error when trying to open a WEBI report with OpenDocument.jsp

I have a weird problem, i'm trying to open a WEBI report with OpenDocument.jsp and I get the following error message
An error has occurred: Could not find the document.
the weird thing is that this error only occurs when i use Internet Explorer. When i use the same link with Google Chrome, i see my report.
How do I make this work, our standard web browser is Internet explorer.

Unable to schedule webi report with Test user

Hi All,
I get the below error when i try to schedule a WEBI report with user id.
I can schedule with my developer id.
Error Message: Sorry, you do not have the right to 'Edit objects' (ID: 6) for 'sudes_errors' (ID: 45941). Please contact your administrator if you require this right.

Scheduling WEBI reports with API

Is it possible to schedule a WEBI report with an external API?
Explanation: our customers can view their data on our internet site. We want to show a list of reports where they can subscribe. For example: report X with parameter Y each monday morning in Excel format to mailadress Z.
This subscribtion is stored in our Oracle database. The database sends an API to the BO enterprise server. BO schedules and sends the report to the customer.
