Webi Reports- Barcode issues

Hi All,
I have a simple webi report that will shows the bc39 barcode fonts. When the report is in HTML mode they see the barcode numbers. When they need to print they have to view in PDF mode, this is when the numbers are seen as a Barcode.
But quiet frequently in PDF mode users are unable to view the Barcode and system is showing only codes.
I would be greteful if you could please let me know how i can fix this issue.

Hi,
How to enable Excel and Pdf option under Save as file in infoview.
When i trying to click modify option under public folder reports ,Report is getting open but i am not able to save that report as excel or pdf , since those option is disabled in infoview.
But it is enabled in user private folder Reports.
Right now we have upgraded the objects from XI R2 to BO 3.1, Since there is some difference in security rights in 3.1, Please tell me how to fix it.

I have problem to view the Prompt value in Long Text for WebI report in my iPad. The SAP BusinessObject Mobile application is on version 5.1.12.
We are using BI Platform 4.1, and the WebI report is connected to Bex Query using BICS connection.
Below are the settings that I had done:

Example data:
Business Partner ID 123 has description in Long Text (DO NOT USE - KOC ALLIANZ SIGORTA A.S) and Short Text (DO NOT USE - KOC).
Business Partner (on top of ZBPARTNER) in WebI is showing Long Text as expected.
For example, you can see the long text "DO NOT USE - KOC ALLIANZ SIGORTA A.S".
Business Partner (on top of ZBPARTNER) in Mobile Apps is showing Short Text:
For example, you can see the long text "DO NOT USE - KOC".
I need the Prompt value is the BusinessObject Mobile to be display with Long Text, but I cannot find any configuration to achieve this.
Is anyone encounter similar issue and can provide me some suggestion?

Webi Report Performance issue as compared with backaend SAP BW as

We are having Backend as SAP BW.
Dashboard and Webi reports are created with Backend SAP BW.
i.e thru Universe on top of Bex query and then webi report and then dashboard thru live office.
My point is that when we have created webi reprts with date range as parameter(sometimes as mandatory variable which comes as prompt in webi) or sometimes taking L 01 Calender date from Bex and creating a prompt in webi, we are facing that reports are taking lot of time to open. 5 minutes 10 minutes and sometimes 22 minutes to open.
This type of problem never ocurred when Backened was Oracle.
Also when drilling in webi report,it takes lot of time .
So can you suggest any solution?

We logged this issue with support already, it is acknowledged.
What happens is that whenever you use an infoobject in the condition
(so pull in the object into condition and build a condition there,
or use that object in a filter object in the universe and then use the filter)
this will result in that object being added to the result set.
Since the query will retrieve a lot of different calendar days for the period you selected,
the resultset will be VERY big and performance virtually non-existent.
The workaround we used is to use a BEX variable for all date based selections.
One optional range variable makes it possible to build various types of selections
(less (with a very early startdate), greater (with a very far in the future enddate) and between).
Because the range selection is now handled by BEX, the calendar day will not be part of the selection...

Webi Report scheduling issue

Dear Experts,
I have webi reports which are running fine when i refresh the query from query panel. When i am scheduling the report it is failing.
My webi reports are connected to the Bex Queries using OLAP Connections which is working fine for other reports.
I am getting the following error message
"Can not connect to the source olap com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (103) JCO_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Access key access is no longer possible"
Because of this BW Credentials are getting locked and user cannot able to access the BW System.
Kindly help us getting this issue solved.

Hi Archit,
Try this...
Logon to Central Management Console (CMC) with an Administrator user.
Click on OLAP Connections.
Right click on the connection and click User Security.
Assign Full Control to the User on the connection.

Webi Reports - Performance Issues

Hi Experts,
       Right now we are using BO XI R2 version. We have 2 servers, server 1 is old and server 2 is new (AIX server u2013 new upgrade of old server).
      When I trying to schedule the report (webi) in both server, reports is running successfully. But problem is that the report scheduling time is more in new server (AIX) than old server (Server1).
There is some performance issues
Example:
Old serve     : 1 hrs (time taken)
New server : 2 hrs (time taken)
Could you please tell me how to increase the webi report performance in new server?

Webi report sum issues

I have a webi report with the fields as below and at the bottom of the report, I am trying to sum the amount it gives me multivalue or double the number.

For sum of amount I am using formula as: =(If([Status Id]="E" ;Sum([Payment Amount]);0)) this gives a multivalue error. If I use formula as :
=Sum(If([Status Id]="E" ;Sum([Payment Amount]);0)); this gives number as 69,371.2. I am expecting to see 3899.68 since that is the number for Status=E.
If I use =Max(If([Status Id]="E" ;Sum([Payment Amount]);0)) it gives the number as 6937.12 which is sum of both the 3037.44 and 3899.68, which is incorrect.
Please help where I am going wrong.

I am using merge dimensions. I am merging ID Number and station. Query 1 I have all the fields, query 2 I have ID number, Station and Amount. So I am merging the 2 fields.

Web Reporting Performance issue

Hello All,
We have some webreports, which contains "Dropdown Boxes" for filters. When I execute the report it is taking very long time, and i realized it is due to filling the filter(characterstic) values with dropdown boxes... Query execution time is more..
To solve this problem, I have removed all the "Dropdown boxes" for filters, and used "Navigation Block" with all the filters. After that the performance of the Webreport(initial screen) is improved by more than 50%.
Now the issue is, when I click on one of the filters of the navigation block, to open filter values window, it is again taking long time.
Is there anyway to improve the response time to open the filter values window of the Navigation block filter?
Is my approach to improve the performance of a webreport is suggestable or is there any other way?
Please suggest me.

try to use <param name="BOOKED_VALUES" value="Q"> in your Dropdown Box properties.
If you use more than one DDB in your webtemplate, you can send the request to the
server until all dropdown boxes with a sumbit button.

BW web report Encoding issue

Hi Experts,
In our company, the BW server is located in China, but Korea data is also merged in our system.
We provided different query for China and Korea user.
But when we run Korea query report, the default Encoding is Chinese, and even if we change Encoding to Korean, each time after the page refresh, Encoding return to Chinese. It is very inconvenient.
Is there any way that I can set the Encoding default to Korea? Thanks.

WebI Report Corruption on BI 4.1 SP 1 Patch 7 : An internal error occured while calling 'openDocument' API WIS 30270

Hi All,
We are facing some weird WebI report corruption issues.
Issue is specific to only one report so far. We have seen this issue usually when we save the report to enterprise or do Save as.
Report gets corrupted at both the places; local and in repository.
The report have 5 Tabs, 3 queries from same database, Cross Tab, and approximately
15 Dimensions and around 500 Measures (From 3 Queries same universe and database)
Variables: 70 Measures and 10 Dimensions (created on report level)
Error Message while opening the report:
This error is generic. however there is no relevant SAP note for this on SMP. Even in trace I could not find much relevant details:
Please find the logs attached for WebI rich client tool.
Note: Change the extension of attached file to .zip and then extract

Thank you for the response.
I am using WebI rich client in offline mode without connecting to CMS; still the working report crashes after making some changes while saving it. (we do refresh reports here)
Secondly, APS is already split and we have enough resources on the server, which anyways are not being used so far.
Even in logs do not see any instance for insufficient memory or crashing message.
Only connection server will come into picture when we use Rich Client all other task will be done be Rich client itself.

Performance issue and data getting interchanged in BO Webi report + SAP BW

Hi,
We are using SAP BW queries as the source for creating some BO reports.
Environments :
SAP - SAP BI 7.1
BO - BO XI 3.1
Issues :
The reports were working fine in Dev and Q with less data. But when we point the universes to BW prod ( where we have much data), the reports are taking quite a long time to refresh and getting timed out. This query has some key figures which are having customer exits defined to show only one month data. And also BW accelerators are updated for the infocubes pertaining to this query. The BO report is giving data if we apply a filter in 'Query Panel' of Webi to show only current month dates. But then the issue is the values are getting interchanged for many objects. For ex: there are 2 objects- ABS version and Market region. The values are getting interchanged in the BO level.
Please let us know if anything needs to be done in BO or BW to fix this issue if anyone has faced the same
Also Please let us know if customer exits and accelerators works fine with BO

We are able to solve the performance issue by removing unused Key figures and dimensions from the query, but the column value interchange issue still persisits
The build version is - 12.3.0
Query Stripping
Where should we enable query stripping? When i went through some documentation it was written that it'll be enabled automatically from XI 3.1 Sp3. Can you please let us know if its so and what we need to do to enable it.
The coulmn interchange is happening when we use dimensions in a certain order. When product type is used along with Market region. Market region shows values of Product type also in Webi report.

Cosmetic issue in WEBI report while creating on top of BEX query

While Creating WEBI report on tob of BEX Query, it is displaying both Technical names and descriptions at webi design level.
The infoobjects we had used in BEx Query is Navigation Attributes.
In case if we are using normal Infoobjects, we can able to restrict as per my requirement like uniqe name, description or both.
In this webi report user(Power user) having flexibility to drag and drop available characteristics.
Due to this issue column heading is displaying both technical name and description. For example Customer(ZCUSTOMER)

How come , if it is display for data means it also need to be display for header (Dimension also).
you can try alternatively in webi by creating variable for that Iobj .

Issue with webi report on BEx query

Hi,
I have created a universe on top of Bex query. There is no issue in creating and exporting the universe. But when I try to create a webi report out that BEx query, I am not able to see the values. Say if I have a column called "Company" I am getting the value as "All Company" and so on. What will be the issue?
But when a report is generated out of BEx analyser they are able to see the values properly.
Same user credentials are used in both the places (Importing the query into universe, Connecting to BEx Analyser) .

Hi Subbu,
the universe will generate a L00 item and a L01 item. The L00 item shows the All member of the characteristic in the case of a flat list and the Top level nodes from a hierarchy. the L01 item should give you what you looking for.

Bex Hierarchy issue on Webi report

Hello Experts,
We are facing issues on use of Bex hierarchy in webi report,
Issue statement: We have webi report on bex query which have table and chart with input control on year and month to filter the report, table and chart uses hierarchy object to disply data. When we refresh report table and chart shows data with hierarchy on first level but once we check or uncheck any value from input control hierarchy in table and chart gets expanded and shows as flat structure. to get correct behaviour we have to collaps hierarchy.
Above behaviour happens for all report level filter like, block filter, drill filter, input control.
Please help me to know this is a bug or something wrong happened with development.

Cells merge issue when extracting webi report in excel format

Hi Experts,
We have some WEBI reports in BO XI 3.1.
The reports have header where we are showing report name and some values which user selects in prompt.
Now the issue is that when we save our webi report in excel format, many cells get merge.
I have read many post on scn which suggest some solutions like changing the autofit width option to no and aligning the header width with colums.
Tried both the option but no success.
Is there any other way to achieve this.

Hi,
We managed to find the workaround for this merge cell issue.
Sharing it might be helpful for someone.
- Align the report name and other block in report in such a way that the ends are in line with the end point of any column. The only limitation is that when applying pivot to the excel output we neet to click on any of the ccolumn so that excel identify the data set.
- Second workaround is to break the webi document in two parts report1 will contain the report name and the block to show the prompt values selected by the user where as report2 will contain the table withactual data. The only limitation with this workaround is that when exporting the repot output to excel we will get two tabs in the excel sheet one containing the prompt values and secont tab containing the actual data.

Webi report: Issue Cannot retrieve dimensions from Cube

Hello Experts, We're facing an issue with a partical set of Webi reports in Quality environment. The reports are BW reports based on OLAP BICS connectivity on top of Bex queries.y Below is the scenario and the issue: 1. The backed Bex queries have been trasported to Quality BW system and they're running fine when run from RSRT or Bex analyzer. 2.The Webi reports along with the BICS connections have been migrated to the Quality box and the BICS connections have been editied so that they point to the Quality BOX bex queries and they're testing and responding to the connection successfully. 3. The Webi reports pointed to the Dev Box in the Dev BOBJ system are working fine, but when the same reports for which the connections were repointed in Quality as above, are giving the error "Cannot Retrieve Dimensions from Cube". Steps taken: a. Deleted the reports and the BICS connection from Quality environment and remigrated the reports,connecitons and changed the connecitons but still the issue persists. b.Tried finding the root cause and got the following issue in the Bex query in Quality: There are filters put in the Bex query . All other filters are working fine except 0CALMONTH. We tried putting all sorts of variables on 0CALMONTH, but the moment a variable is put on 0CALMONTH, this issue occurs. But when we tried removing the variable from 0CALMONTH in filters and restricted it to a single value, the Report works fine. However the same is not an issue in the Dev Box and all queries with similar variables are working fine. So we're thinking this might be an issue on the BW backend and the cube might have to be transported again to the Quality Box. ANy quick suggestions or inputs on this would be greatly appreciated.
