Hi All,
I have problem in my Web Intelligence report, The trailing spaces for the all fields im my report are displayed as " "
This is not happening regularly. it happens randomly.
Note : i have deployed the infoview application in Websphere application server and not in tomcat, is that anything to do with that?
it would be of great help, if anyone could share some details on this.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
We experienced this problem.
I am unsure if there is a more permanent workaround, but because we were writing pre-canned reports we just formatted the object(s) concerned at the report level:
select the data column, in the Properties pane, select Display, and set "Read cell contents as" - and I think we selected Text or HTML - can't remember which...
The problem with this is that I have a feeling that if the object causing the problem is used in other reports, then it will need this formatting change at report level each time ... afraid I don't know if there is something at the universe level that can stop this... but this might help you out in the short-term!
Let me know how you get on!

  • Webi report display splits a column

    Hi
fairly new to Webi so I hope this doesn't sound too basic. I have a Webi report that is 30 odd columns wide (this is currently BOXI R2 on Windows 2003); it's displayed in Landscape mode and splits several columns down the middle. How can you define where the vertical page breaks should be and/or which columns should not be split?
    Cheers
    Mark Gillis

Thanks for getting back. That's not quite the problem: it's a 'standard' Webi report (not a crosstab) and has over 40 columns. Even in landscape mode, that displays over 5 pages. The problem is vertical splits: I can fit columns 1 to 7 on page 1 and then column 8 is half on the first page and half on the second (this is displaying in Page mode in Infoview: I can display in Draft mode, of course, to get a full span display of the report).
What I'm trying to do is define the report so that when a user displays in Page mode columns do not get split. It may be that Draft mode is the only answer but I was hoping a setting would exist to say "don't split columns over pages".

  • ALV Report displays space instead of '0.00' for qty field. why?

    Hello friends,
I am facing a problem to display 0 value for the field
field - ZZQTY (Predefined Type at Domain level)
         QUAN 21,2
In the program I am clearing the field and I can see its value as 0.00 while debugging.
As soon as field ZZQTY is displayed on ALV, it becomes blank (Space).
My requirement is to display '0.00' on ALV report.
    What should I do?
    Regards,
    Ronny Hanks

    Hello
    Search for
    LS_FIELDCAT-NO_ZERO = 'X'.
for this field in programm and comment this.

  • Ora9i Rpt Dvlpr doesn't display clob in web report

I've got simple table with clob data:
    CREATE TABLE TAB_CLOB (
    ID NUMBER (12) NOT NULL,
    CLASS VARCHAR2 (3) NOT NULL,
    CONTENTS CLOB,
    with some data.
    Using SQL+ with this select:
    select * from TABLE_CLOB
finds and displays data in all three columns.
Paper report with the same select formula displays number, char and clob data, but web report displays only number and char data - doesn't display clobs.
    Suggestions?

This was an issue with 9.0.2 base release and has been fixed in Reports patches. Please apply Report 9.0.2.0.5 integrated patch for the fix.

  • Q: SAP BI Hierarchy look in WebI report

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a WebI report displaying a hierarhcy and some measures. I wonder if there is any way to get the report to look more like a classic SAP report displaying hiearchies?
    Something like the following example:
    1) First view of the report:
    Hier. Level 1:  $300
    2) Choose to drill down to next level:
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $100
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $200
Currently if I make a report with the design in 1 above and drill down; "Hier. Level 1" will be exchanged with "Hier. Level 2" and no longer displayed. I still want to see the top level of the hierarchy after the drill down.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions,
    Best regards,
    Mikael

    Hi Amr,
Thank you for your response. I have read the post and the manual, but the problem is not to define the drill down, the problem is to get the result displayed as I want.
    Currently;
    We have:
    Hier. Level 1: $300
    and drill down we get:
    Hier Level 2: $100
    Hier Level 2: $200
    I want:
    We have:
    Hier. Level 1: $300
    and drill down we get:
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $100
    Hier. Level 1 - Hier Level 2: $200
    or:
    We have:
    Hier. Level 1: $300
    and drill down we get:
    Hier. Level 1
         - Hier Level 2: $100
         - Hier Level 2: $200
    Any other ideas?
    Best regards,
    Mikael

  • Displaying WebI report parts via openDocument in BI 4.1 SP 3 Update

    1) We are using SAP BO 4.1 SP3 Update version.
    2) We have a requirement to display PARTS of webi report which has prompts as well.
    3) We referred the Opendocument PDF and used the below functionality to get what we need:
    sRefresh=Y&mode=part&sReportPart=UIREF:RID=1:BID=1
The problem with this is we have a Prompt X which has a value say  A B C.
So our final URL would be:
http://[servername]:[port]/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=[CUID of WebI doc]&lsSX=A B C&mode=part&sReportPart=[Reference to the report part to be shown].
    4) Our problem is that if we pass parameters in Prompt X which has a SPACE (Like we have in A B C) the functionality goes for a toss. Also if we pass Dates like 01/01/2012-12/31/2012, the function doesnt work.
    5) This is the problem with VIEWING PARTS OF WEBI report only. Works fine if we wanna view full report.
    6) Is it a known issue ?

    Hi Ankit,
For special characters like space, colon you have to use ASCII characters in URL. For e.g. if you want to write prompt as
    Enter Year:
then it should be like :
    Enter%20Year%3A
Please refer page 9 of below document :
    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&ved=0CD4QFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pieterverstraeten.com…

  • Images are displaying in web report

    Hi.
I am having a webreport, when i try to open that web report in my gateway it is nit displaying images.
I am able to 'x' mark in the place of image and unable to do drill down,
Please advice me on the sane.
    Thanks,
    Guna

    Hi Gunasekhar,
You might have just added URL in "Choose Screen" window.
If you add URL here means you should be connected to Internet everytime you execute your Web template or if you have given a path in your system where the image is present, the image should be present in the similar path in other system too to make the Web template execute and to display the image through webb template.
If you want to display the image everytime you execute your template, you need to upload the image in MIME repository... Tcode : SE80.
To import a number of MIME objects into the MIME Repository using the MIME Repository Browser:
           1.      Start the browser of the MIME Repository. (SE80)
The browser is displayed. It overwrites the navigation area (left-hand side).
           2.      Expand the Repository’s hierarchy and select the "BEx" folder.
           3.      Choose Import --> MIME-Objects from the context menu.
           4.      Select a MIME object from the file structure on your local hard disk of your computer.
           5.      Enter the MIME attributes and choose  Save.
Since the object is imported into the SAP System, the dialog box Create Object Directory Entry is displayed.
           6.      Assign a package to the MIME object and choose  Save.
Now give the path of the MIME repository in the Menu --> Insert --> Picture... --> Choose Screen --> URL...
Give below path in the URL space provided there.
    /sap/bw/Mime/BEx/Icons/XXX.jpg
This uses the image present in BW so you will not get "X" mark whenever you execute your report anywhere.
    Regards,
    KK.

  • Different display on client report builder and web reports

Hi all, I have build a report in report 6i version Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1.And I set the page to 8.5*11 ,and it runs well in the client ,but when I put it on the UNIX SERVER,and run it from web URL,It displayed different from the client report builder. The web report is "smaller" than the client report ,but the font size is as same as the client .
My HPUX is 11x,and display the Chinese report .
Any body know why ?give me some advice ,thank u very much.

    Hi
If you had built the report definition on Windows and then moved this to Unix server, you may find different fonts in use. This is becuase your Unix setup does not have the same fonts install. At design time, You need to use fonts which are available on Unix also. The same fonts shaould also be installed for printer in Unix i.e. the AFM/PFM font files should be kept under $ORACLE_HOME/guicommonX/tkXX/admin/AFM or PFM directory. This would give you the same output and would lessen the porting affect.
    Thanks

  • Display Comments in Webi Report

    Hi All,
We have a requirement, to display comments (2 or 3 paragraph in each page of report). The text needs to preserve the format (bold, bullets and colored text) i.e the format from the source data should be retained when displayed in the webi report.
Say for example the source is the excel and the text is coloured red or green , some part of the text is bold, all these formats should be preserved in the webi report also.
Can you please suggest, how to implemet this in webi report?
    Thanks,
    Sudha

you can take the formatted text in a word document, take a screen shot, put it in mspaint and select the required part. now place this picture in the blank cell's background image. this will preserve the formats of all kinds.
but u cant change the text dynamically.
usually we do this to give users an introduction page(tab1 in report followed by report tabs.) describing the application.
    Thanks,
    karthik

    Kind regards,
    Martin Søgaard

    Hi Jim Ji
The report can be displayed from the java infoview, no doubt, so the report itself works.
But the report cannot be seen from the "SAP Infoview" (:/businessobjects/enterprise115/sap) which is the infoview, I reference from the Folder iView (through the system in the SAP portal). And since the SAP Portal Integration Kit seems very old - the Folder iView was created 12-08-2004 by Ingo Hilgefort - there might be an old version of the jar-files somewhere in the installation.
I guess I should check the version of the jar-files in WEB-INF/lib of our web application (Tomcat) folder, and see if they have been overwritten by the SAP Portal Integration Installation or are an older version of the files in Program FilesBusiness Objectscommon3.5javalib? And also check if somewhere in the .../sap installation there are some old jar-files?
    Kind regards,
    Martin Søgaard

  • Error in displaying a webi report

We are getting an error RWI 00317 when trying to display a webi report within a .net application.
When searched in the net, RWI 00317 occurs due to the reason that xalan.jar is missing... But that is for a java application. What is the similar solution for .net applications.

  • Display of Hierarchy Nodes as Medium Text in Web Report

    Hello everyone,
Does anybody know how to display the hierarchy nodes as medium text instead of short text (default) in web report?
I know it is possible to change the display setting directly (by right clicking on hierarchy node > properties) from the web report.
However, I would love to know if there is any other way to change the settings such as through Query designer or Hierarchy maintenance in SAP GUI so that users do not need to change the display settings every time they view the web report.
    Your help is kindly appreciated.

Thank you Shabar for you quick reply.
What if a Hierarchy is created under an InfoObject? How can I change the Text view of each name of the Hierarchy nodes?
In Query Designer, I tried to change the Text View to Long but it only affects the text of the InfoObject but not the Hierarchy nodes.
I tried the 2nd suggestion too.  I only can find the BEx description for the InfoObject but not the Hierarchy nodes.
It would be great if anyone could tell me how to do so.
    Thanks in advance.

you will get something like below.

  • Graph not displayed when web report 9i is run

When I run my web report (.rdf file) all the report data shows apart from the graph - which is displayed as a red cross. Have I configured reports wrong so the graphs aren't getting the correct URL?
    Many Thanks
    Claire

    Hi Claire,
I assume that you are running an RDF on the web, and setting desformat=html or htmlcss. Can you try with desformat=pdf and see if you get the same problem?
Also, for diagnosing the problem, in your html / htmlcss output where you see a red cross, can you view source and see what filename it searches for the graph. The graph is an image, so the code will be like
    <img src=....../>
Check whether this file is available in your Oracle_Home\reports\cache directory?
