Webi Reports failing -Cannot execute empty query

Intermittent problem affecting all Webi reports in the SAP BI system .
This affects all Release 1 and Release 2 Webi reports
When the user tries to run the report, an error message appears with the message "Cannot execute empty query. (QTJ00521)"
User can close the report and try to run it again - the report may execute properly the second time.
This problem started in production at R2 go live. It is affecting both R1 and R2 webi reports.
It cannot be reproduced in lower environments.

Check attached SAP note if this is relevant for your issue.As per this SAP note this happens when query stripping option is checked.If this is checked then uncheck and try.

FR Web Report - Can't export to query

In Hyperion Planning/Workspace 11.1.2.1, after running Web Report (HTML), cannot "Export in Query Mode" to Smartview. It launches Excel, but the worksheet stays blank and the report is not populated. It doesn't make a differenc if I'm already logged in to Smartview or not.
The report successfully exports to Query in 11.1.2.0. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
I am trying to create a Webi report based on an OLAP Universe. I am using BI 4.1 SP01
I did the following:
1. I have setup a databse connection for SAP SSM via the create connection wizard in the Universe Design Tool. My connection is created sucessfully.
2. Next I created a Universe saved it and exported it.
3. In webi I am trying to create a report, I selected a couple of measures in the "results objects" section. In the qurey filters section I selected month.
When I run this query, I am getting an error message: Database error: Failed to execute MDX query. Reason: returned server error (). (IES 10901) (WIS 10901).
I tried to search for similar issues reported on SCN forums and other places and it looks like a generic error and this was not answered in some of the discussions
Any help is very much appricated.

Hi,
I have verified in BEx query properties, it's "allow External Access to this Query" is checked.
I have filter in BEx query, so not need to had it to query selection again in webi report.
Could any other solution??

Scheduled webi reports fail, why? If I restart BO services they work again

Hello.
I'm having a problem with my scheduled Webi reports and I don't know what is causing it. I have some reports scheduled to run at 8:00 am, and are supposed to be sent to a determined e-mail. Last week it worked well and the reports were sent to their destination successfuly, then this week the same reports didn't reach their destination. I verified in the History option and all of them showed a Failed status. I checked the detail and this is what it shows:
Unexpected exception caught. Reason: [java.lang.NullPointerException: i_statusInfo is null.]
If I try to reschedule these reports or any other report or a new report I get the same error. The only way I can make the schedule option work again for my webi reports is restarting BusinessObjects services.
But I guess this is not the right solution.
What can I do? How can I determine what is causing my scheduled webi reports fail?
What does this java.lang.NullPointerException: i_statusInfo is null message mean?
Is there a way I could track the service that is failing? which BO service is the service that manage the Schedule reports?
Any help is welcome.

I have Implemented , BOE With SAP Integration , Im able to Create the Universe. Using the DataSource , I have Created one WebIntelligence Report , Unfortunatly Im getting the Following Below Mnetioned Error. If I run the Query as Single Object I can See Single Column in the Report. When i go for Multiple Column. Im getting as mentioned Below.

Which version of BOBJ did you install? Which version of SAP BW are you accessing (please state the installed supported packages also).
How many rows do you get when you run the single column report?

Event reports fail to execute (ora-00942, new install, database error?)

This is my first time working with Oracle software, and I am trying to use the Sensor Edge Server to test an RFID implementation. I am using OAS and SES 10.1.3.1 with Database 10.2.0. I followed many guides, I believe the database install instructions were from the database documentation library, and the OAS/SES instructions from the flash demo found here:

My initial installation did not link to the Data repository, so I used manual configuration instructions from here:

At certain points I had to enter the SQL commands manually to ensure the Edge user's password was set, but all the outputs were as expected.
Now that all this was done, I used the simulator with a simple xml file (as in the example) and confirmed it was loading via the "Monitor Events" tab in the SES. When I went to the "Event Reports" tab, the "Fetch Results" button caused an error message reading "Unable to Process Request / The query failed to execute: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist"
In the log, sometimes I catch "OracleArchiverWorkerImpl: Cannot insert event into SDR:>>"
and "java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06550: Line 1 Column 7: PLS-00201: identifier 'EDG_SDA.ON_EVENT" must be declared"
I've done a fair bit of searching through the whole forum (not just the RFID area), checked on the 00942 error and so on, but what I've done wrong isn't jumping out at me. Anyone care to give input?

To clarify, I used the sql*plus instructions:
   sqlplus edge/<password>@<service_name>
   select count(*) from edg_event_vw
   select count(*) from sda_observationsfrom the server guide and both inititally returned "2", and made no updates, despite resetting devices (causing events in the "monitor events" tab)

Webi report: Issue Cannot retrieve dimensions from Cube

Hello Experts, We're facing an issue with a partical set of Webi reports in Quality environment. The reports are BW reports based on OLAP BICS connectivity on top of Bex queries.y Below is the scenario and the issue: 1. The backed Bex queries have been trasported to Quality BW system and they're running fine when run from RSRT or Bex analyzer. 2.The Webi reports along with the BICS connections have been migrated to the Quality box and the BICS connections have been editied so that they point to the Quality BOX bex queries and they're testing and responding to the connection successfully. 3. The Webi reports pointed to the Dev Box in the Dev BOBJ system are working fine, but when the same reports for which the connections were repointed in Quality as above, are giving the error "Cannot Retrieve Dimensions from Cube". Steps taken: a. Deleted the reports and the BICS connection from Quality environment and remigrated the reports,connecitons and changed the connecitons but still the issue persists. b.Tried finding the root cause and got the following issue in the Bex query in Quality: There are filters put in the Bex query . All other filters are working fine except 0CALMONTH. We tried putting all sorts of variables on 0CALMONTH, but the moment a variable is put on 0CALMONTH, this issue occurs. But when we tried removing the variable from 0CALMONTH in filters and restricted it to a single value, the Report works fine. However the same is not an issue in the Dev Box and all queries with similar variables are working fine. So we're thinking this might be an issue on the BW backend and the cube might have to be transported again to the Quality Box. ANy quick suggestions or inputs on this would be greatly appreciated. What can be the cause of Web ADI error : Cannot execute SQL statement?

I created a custom integrator in r12.2.3 and while loading I encountered an error, Cannot execute SQL statement.
I checked my setup in Interface attribute , the RUN_ID column has a default type SQL QUERY with a default value SELECT XXCONV_EAM_ASSET_NUM_S.NEXTVAL FROM DUAL.
If I have a right setup here, what can be the cause of this error?

Dashboard with Webi Report link - Cannot access external data

Dear Gurus,
I've a dashboard with access to WEBI report for Language setting.
All works fine for the group: Administrators.
If I take the Users out of the Adminstrators group and assign them normal power user group, I get the message that the external data cannot be accessed. No Error # or so is displayed.
Even if I grant the usergroup Full Control / Power User on the
Universe,
the Connection
Dashboard itself,
WEBI Application
Webservices
Still it does not work.
As far as I can see is, that it can't be a Network (Firewall)-Problem, because it works for the memebers of the Adminstration groups - What else can it be?

         I am running a Webi report (XI 3.1) over a universe that is built on an SAP BW Query. The data in the report is regarding sales, and the grand total of the 'Sales Amount' as per the BW Query is about 1Million, which is correct. However, when I run a Webi report based on the same BW query, taking ALL the objects from the query (without any conditions and filters), the 'Sales Amount' figure comes out to be only 50K instead of 1Mn(as above). I'm not sure why this figure is so drastically reduced in the Webi report.
        When I remove some objects from the query, Webi displays the correct figure of 1Mn. But these are the objects that are very much required in the report for multidimensional analysis. Dropping these objects would defeat the purpose of the report. The BW query too includes these objects during its execution and then displays the correct sales figure of 1Mn.
       Any help will be greatly appreciated.

     Yes, I was getting partial results. I got rid of it by unchecking the the options in the 'SQL' tab in the Universe parameters.

Can I stop a report from Re-executing the query when I go back to that page

I have a report that has a complicated query and looks at a lot of information to display the results. This query then links of to show details of individual items that were displayed in the result. But when I hit the back button on the browser, it executes the query again and it takes a while for the page to load.
Is there any way to stop this and only execute the query when the User pushes a Button on the page else display the previous results.

Another alternative is to make that detail link open in a popup window using
javascript:popupURL(...);This way, the complicated report page is always visible.

Report failed to parse SQL query:ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name

We are currently upgrading from v2.2.0.00.32 to v4.0.0.00.46.
I have copied the applications onto our test server along with the various database objects and data etc.
When I am running a report in v4, it is failing with the following error: "failed to parse SQL query: ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name".
When I copy the SQL that builds the report into TOAD (on out test server) it runs OK so really cant see why it would fail in APEX. It works fine when I run the query in our APEX v2 and in TOAD in our live server.

For some reason, the updatable fields (this is a updateable report) where not connecting to the database properly. Whn I changed them to a report columns and removed the database field reference, the report rendered

-ve values in Webi Report , Run on SAP Bex query

I am creating WebI Report on Bex Query. some of the key figures like Net Sales, Gross Margin & Operating Profit are display as -ve values.
as they are +ve values in Bex Query.
Do i need to check any options in Bex query or Universe.

BW Web reporting failed

Hi,
I have a one huge BW report and it can be accessed in BEX .However, when i try to execute the same report in Web, there is error message 'An error has occured.Restart'.
i have checked in ST22 and notice there is abap dump.
Abap Dump : Unable to fulfil request for 289848876 bytes of memory space.
Can anyone suggest what can be done here? How abt Transaction code RZ11. can i increase the space allocation as given in ST22 abap dump?
