I am new to WebI.
Is it possible to use WebI reports as a 'back end' where a static webpage (asp or jsp) can tap WebI reports as a data source?
Basically, I want to use WebI reports for a website where a user is NOT required to login. The site would 'tap' a WebI report(s) and render it on a page either with asp or jsp.

Actually I am also looking at similar funcionality. Hereis the req:
I need to provide 2 separate links for standard reports (reports on Infoview) and another link for doing adhoc. For Adhoc I want users to go directly to the universe page (page on which list of universe is shown to the users). In both cases i need single sign on from another application.
I know that my first re - navigating into Infoview can be achieved by providing the link for infoview. I want to know what link I shld provide in the calling application for directly navigating to List of universes page (it comes when u say new web intelligence document in Infoview). Let me know if this can be achieved, if so how?

Welcome to the Apple Discussion Forum!
Currently no internet virus protection is needed for Apple OSX. Using Safari or Firefox is the best way to access the internet.
In addition, make sure you download and install all Apple Security updates (from the Software updates tab). This will keep your MacOSX protection up to date. In addition, there are only three Anti-Virus software programs available from the Apple store, that alone will give you a clue to the need for them.

What is happening to Firefox? So user unfriendly since you changed to Yahoo. I can't print anything from web without first saving to documents. Boo!

For the first time - today i tried to print a map search. Was forced to "save" to documents from which it could be printed. Next needed something from another web site - same story. WHY are you doing this to me? All I want to do is a simple print from the web without getting a big dose of heartburn. Where is my Nexium? I need to take a dozen right now.

hello, you may have an issue with adware/malware related on your pc (this won't have anything to do with the impending search engine change, which didn't happen yet). please perform all these steps:

If you find anything out please share. I have flash projects (SWF) files created in Captivate 5 that play fine in Flash and Dreamweaver, but freeze up on the web in safari, firefox, opera and chrome. Even files that used to play just fine. This upgrade has been a nightmare - I have spent hours troubleshooting to no avail. It does not seem to be a problem for windows users - only macs.

I am working on CRM 2007. We have a tricky problem with call detail records left in an inconsistent state (CRMD_TM_IACT-LOCK_STATE = E) when closing the IC web without first hitting the "END CONTACT" button .
any one face this kind of problem ? and what kind of solution we can implement .
is there any event which trigger when we click on IC WEB CLOSE button . because if we have any event triggered at that time then we can remove this lock ...

Thanks for your suggestion! Creating a new profile and adding everything step by step was my last resort but I wasn't that desperate yet
Anyway, just if people would encounter the same problem, I solved the problem by changing the javascript ic_base_contextarea_scripts.js and cleared myself the contact information box variables when the end contact button was clicked.
I added following lines to the function wsb_handler(event) at the context

Print PDF from web without opening A.R.

Hi, I'm looking for a way to print PDF documents (generated in Crystal Reports 11 on a IIS web server in PDF / ASP.NET Framework 2.0) on client's machines and printers (without opening an Acrobat Reader, but with print options dialog).
Is it possible to make this issue using Adobe Acrobat SDK?

For security reasons (eg. so that malicious web servers can't just start your printer a printing...), it is IMPOSSIBLE for the document to NOT show...
Any document that is on the web can be saved on the client's machine - that's the beauty (or not?) of the web and the protocols involved. If you wish to prevent misuse - be sure to use DRM.

How to load JMF player in web without applet

Is it possible to load JMF player in html or php page without the help of applet or jsp or jsf?
I heared that flash can be handy for this purpose as java can be loaded in flash movie, can anyone give me better idea about this?

I don't know much about flash, but "loading java in flash movie" doesn't sound like something that makes sense. Flash does video, but you'll have to go to a Flash forum for more info on that :)
Your options for Java solutions are an Applet or launching an application via Java Web Start (see posts about that and JMF, there's caveats).

Do you have to use the Oracle Application Server if you want to put Forms 6 applications on the web?
Is it possible to configure webforms system without using OAS?
We use Microsoft IIS webserver and plan to use the CGI-BIN interface to put oracle reports on the web.

I have been watching this discussion group now for some time and I have noticed that you are answering a lot of questions about Oracle Developer, mostly correctly.
However, your experiences with Netscape and Jinitiator seem a little unfortunate, you (and others) may find the following information useful
The problem you have referred to where the form does not appear was a known problem both with Jinitiator 1.1.5.21.1 and the original shipment of forms 6.0.5.29.1. This problem is usually fixed (depending on what was the root of your problem) by upgrading past patch 3 of ODS6 and upto Jinitiator 1.1.7.18.
There are other reasons that the form may not appear but these are usually flagged by an FRM-99999 error. Not overly helpful I understand, but drilling in on the java console window that pops up will usually point out the area of the problem. We realise that this is not necessarily as helpful as it could be and we will be shortly posting a document (to the tune of 121 pages) where a lot of the FRM-99999 errors are explained and a method for troubleshooting is outlined.
The following configurations can be used for running ODS
Netscape 4 + Jinit
IE 4/5 + Jinit
IE5 incl Patch 1 Native
Appletviewer
In answer to the question from Richard Chadd you can happily run ODS6 without OAS, as Bob correctly points out, if you don't want to use the cartridge.
The cartridge is needed if you want to deploy your Forms Server application across multiple machines, the reason for this is that the cartridge (in v6) is the only method for accessing a variable called LEASTLOADEDHOST, this variable is used to indicate to the Metrics Server (the element inside ODS that manages the connections on each machine) the number of concurrent connections on each machine.
If you are happy running on one machine (from a user count and hardware point of view) then you will not need to do load balancing and therefore will not need to use OAS.
With the latest release of Oracle Forms Server release 6i (note the name change) you will never need OAS, even if you want to load balance. We will be supplying a CGI executable that provides the same (and more) functionality as the OAS cartridge, thus you will be able to deploy your OFS applications to multiple machines and still stick with your favourite web server.
The other features we have added in 6i are
- Smart Server Install
- SSL
- HTTP
- OEM Integration
For full details you should download the product details from Technet, but in short the smart server install should resolve a lot of the problems that we are seeing on this (and other) discussion lists. It basically asks a series of questions and (based on your answers) chooses to install and set up it's own lightweight listener (taken from WebDB) and creates the base html files, the virtual directory mappings etc etc.
The HTTP is the same as was in 6.0 but is now a supported feature as opposed to being a beta feature, you may now optionally choose to switch on SSL for that communication as well.
The OEM integration refers to Oracle Enterprise Manager, you may now install an agent on an OFS box and the agent will report to OEM that OFS is installed and will thus allow you to start and stop forms listeners, dynamically turn on logging, kill users etc etc all remotely.
Sorry if this seems like a marketing message, but I thought you might like a heads up on what is now available.
I also thought that you might like to know that we in Product Management spend a large amount of time watching discussion groups and newsgroups.
If you are looking to discuss OFS with other like minded users then there are also several other places that Product Management may be seen, these are comp.databases.oracle.tools and the ODTUG mailing list.
Obviously the newsgroups are free, but ODTUG requires you to purchase a membership.

Parameters Panel empty in Crystal Reports web viewer (infoView)

Hello experts,
here is my situation:
While viewing my reports, any of them, even the examples that come with installation, and I click on the button to show the Parameters Panel it just shows a blank (gray) panel....
so then I'm unable to change any parameter like a range of dates for example, and my report shows only the information related to the parameters I choose when I was in Crystal Reports 2008 and published it.
How could I solve this issue enabling again that panel?

yes, I already have some parameters set up there as you said and I can view them while developing in Crystal Reports 2008 and I can change whenever I want......
the issue is just when viewing in infoView, or also in the HTML preview in CR2008. In this case it shows me a panel without anything in it (gray), it's like something is missing to load it properly.

Log on to CMC -> Application -> Right Click on Web Intelligence Rich Client -> Select your user -> Assign Security -> Advanced tab -> Select "Unassigned Rights" in Common Filter Settings -> Select Enable Drill Mode in Rights Name Column -> And assigned grant level to it.

Mac won't connect to the web without using a vpn...

I know...it doesn't make sense. I have been buying and using a vpn service, IPVanish, for 3 months now and I have always just had it turned on. But now I no longer use it because of payment issues and it not being that great and since then my computer can't connect to the internet without using some sort of vpn. I can use skype, my email, steam, really anything except my web browser. I go to start it up w/o being connected to a vpn and it wont load a webpage. Does anyone know what to do...if so please help!!

If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If any proxy options are selected, make a note of them and then deselect them. You don’t need to change the bypass or FTP settings. Click OK and then Apply. Test. The result may be that you can't connect to any web server. Restore the previous settings if that happens.

Webi Applet, InfoView Customizing are possible?

In the migration project from R2 to 3.1 , I'm facing customizing below.
Are these modification possible?
1. I want to modify some text in "Webi save window".
For example, text "keyword" -> "security level"
2. I want to add some column and put specific image in InfoView Listing page.
(adding column succeeded as modifing InfoViewListingBean.java in InfoViewAppActions, but items are limited.)
I analized above java sources,
but I can't find java file. All sources are compiled and packaged.
I know it is very difficult stuff. Just let me know about POSSIBLITY OF CUSTOMIZING.
If it is impossible, I have to report our customer ASAP.

Hi,
Modifying or customizing infoview is not supported so if you make any modifications you will need to revert all changes to the original state to receive support for any issues you run into.
Alot of that code is compiled and there is no documentation available since it is not supported.
Is it possible to do? Probabably.
Would I advise against it? Strongly.

Cant get web without wifi

Just got my bionic yesterday and it worked great. Had it connected to my home wi fi but when I left the house I could no longer get web off the cells. How do a fix this. I had the iphone before so I did not have to think but I'm a loss on how I get reconnect without wi fi.

This is a problem that a bunch of us are having including me, if I read your posting right. Sometimes we have 4G, sometimes 3G, and sometimes nothing. If your notification bar doesn't say 3 ror 4g, then you don't have internet without wifi. VZW employee postings I have read say that they are aware of the problem and a fix is in the works. We all hope the problem is in the software or the network but who knows at this point. My phone worked perfectly since getting it on day 2 of the release, until 10/16 when it lost all data connection. It comes and goes now and I find I have to reboot to get it. Keep making noise with Verizon.
