Webiste shows Temp. Unavailable on my Mac but I can access the same webiste on my iPhone

I am trying to access a website that I have accessed many times before. Now it shows "site temporarily unavailable" . I am able to access this site from work as wellas from my iphone. Not sure what changed. Can anyone help me with this?

Using Safari ??
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Now empty the Safari cache.
Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit then relaunch Safari then try that website.
If that didn't help either, since you can access the site on our iPhone, restart your router.

If your son's account cannot be recovered with apple or google and you do wish to activate a new apple ID to that ipod consider this. I have a family of four, we each have different iOS devices. However, we all use one apple ID that i created nearly a decade ago to purchase everything. I don't use that email address anymore except as my apple ID. Why: cause everything I have EVER purchased is tied to it. It allows me to play any content any of my family purchases on any of devices.
I know you may not want to see genius recommendations based on their purchases but it'll help in the future when something like this may happen again.

Thanks very much for the instructions. I encountered this problem this morning myself and the recommendation fixed the problem immediately. When things like this happen with iCloud and Pages it makes me wonder if I might be better off using something else, having just recently had to fix the problem that the current Pages can't read documents I created with a much earlier version until they were "upgraded" by an interim version.

Tomcat6 startup reports fail, but I can access the web page

I'm installing tomcat6 to try to run mythpodcaster. I followed the wiki on installation, but when I start tomcat6 I get a report of fail. However, I can access the tomcat page on the server.
catalina.err gives me some info messages, don't see anything there of concern
catalina.out gives me 2 warnings; No appenders could be found for logger (com.mchange.v2.log.MLog). and Please initialize the log4j system properly.
I haven't figured out either of these warnings yet, but in any event, why do I get a fail on startup of tomcat6?

Startup scripts have changed a bit in the past tomcat6 packages. May I ask which version you are running?

My ipod wont sync any of the tv shows I bought from my ipod, but I can sync the ones that I bought from my computer. I didnt click manually manage tv shows and I made sure to click all of them to sync. I didnt get them illegally btw. Thanks !

I have a third generation 32 GB ipod touch. I have the second newest version of itunes, and use a Windows 7. I bought 28 tv shows from my ipod (NOT computer) (some of them were the free kinds, if that has anything to do with anything). But, when I tried to sync them onto my cmoputer, then sync them BACK onto my ipod. it wont...
I DID NOT check the manually manage videos thing, and i DID click all of them to sync. It is sorta bugging me because i really want to see my glee..:D
but the weird things is, my songs and apps that i bought from my ipod WILL sync back. But it is just my tv shows... x(

Installing iTunes does not cause content to magically appear on the computer.
Your media is only where you put it.
iOS devices are not backup devices.
Copy the media from the old computer to the new computer.

Firefox will not connect to websites, it just says "connecting" constantly, but I can access the internet using IE.

For the last 2 days I have had a problem with Firefox. When I start it, one or two pages will open, sometimes 3 or 4, but then if I try to open any more tabs it will just get stuck connecting to it and never go to the page. Once it starts this infinite-connection process, the pages previously opened do not work anymore either. If you try to navigate in them, they will respond the same way. I have tried connecting in IE, and it works. I did upgrade to Firefox 6 yesterday, but I was having the problem before that (which is why I tried upgrading).

I have tried all of the options in that first link you showed and none worked. I also configured my firewall (Windows Firewall) and ensured firefox was in the "Allow" list, which it was. I still have the issue.
I did notice something interesting though. When I first checked the firewall, Mozilla firefox wasn't on the list at all. I had to manually add it and then made sure it was allowed to connect to the internet. Even after I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, I never got one of those windows notifications asking me if I wanted to add a rule for firefox. Checking the firewall settings again, firefox was still absent. I don't think it matters, firefox doesn't work with no rules at all in the firewall, or if I manually add the rule and allow firefox to connect.
Any other thoughts?

The P/b is an older/slower CPU and takes over three times
longer to render (i.e. 36 hours instead of 10 on my quicksilver) so if I can edit on the P/b while the P/m is rendering the big stuff, I won't have so much downtime.. (trying to avoid the constant copy back and forth sinario)..

you can move the drive back and forth between the two
computers. You just can't have both of the them access the
drive at the same time.
The way I'm currently doing it - I have the 2 F/w drives connected to both Macs and I either power up only one at a time or mount/dismount/swap cables as needed. I was hoping there would be a way it could be done - NOT to write to the same files at the same time, that's a given, but to be able to continue working on another project, or part of the same project, while the Q/s (which is dual and much faster than the P/b) is rendering..

Why can't i access a site over wifi but can access the site using 3G on iPhone?

My children can access their school's intranet over wifi, but cannot access their school email accounts on the intranet, or any documents attached to the site (i.e. homework documents). They can access all of the above via their iPhones using 3G.

Try:
Clear the cookies ('problematic' site(s) only): Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Clear the cache: Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cache: "Clear Cache Now"

Is there a Mac app that can do the same as DriveSort does for Windows?

I am considering moving from Windows to Mac, but first, I need to make sure that I can still do all I need to do in the Mac world as I do with Windows today.
One question, I can't seem to answer is a silly one, but important to me.
I keep my music in my car on a flash drive with 700+ songs on it. However, since the flash drive is formated in FAT, it sorts the music by the order the computer decided to save them in.
To fix the order, I use DriveSort (http://www.anerty.net/software/file/DriveSort.php) but it only runs in Windows.
Is there a Mac application that does the same? I don't care if it is free or not.

It's not a question of how you can sort in the Mac. It's a matter of how it writes files to a FAT based flash drive. The cars stereo will sort the flash drive by the order the files were written in and not by any order the OS has sorted it. This is the same in Windows and Mac, so a utility to "sort" the flash drive. DriveSort does this perfectly, but they don't have a Mac version. I'm looking for a Mac version of this type of software. Surely someone in the Mac world must have run into this flash drive problem and found a fix......

I really need help, my ipod shows to connect to the WiFi but then it will not let me use the interent it says no connection but according to my screen i have WiFi connection, i am very confused an i would really appriciate it if someone could help me sort out this problem so i can start using my iPod for work again.

Even though the iPod shows as been connected, it might not have actually received a valid IP address via DHCP from your Wi-Fi access point or router. Head to Settings -> Wi-Fi and tap the > next to the network you are connected. If 169.xxx.xxx.xxx is listed for an IP Address, then your iPod did not receive a valid IP address. To correct this you can reboot your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds.
It wouldn't hurt to also reset your iPod. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

What do you do if Creative CloudApp Mgr says it is installed but you can access the program locally?

We just signed up for Creative Cloud for my daughter's multimedia class...some programs are working but Illustrator shows as "installed" in Adobe Application Manager but it is not installed on her mac. Of course she needs to use it all weekend for a project due Monday. This has been a horrific experience...not a good birthday present at all. Any suggestions?

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and let AAM reinstall the programs properly.

I can't access my itunes store, it says I don't have an internet connection but I do. I tried updating to the newest version of itunes, turned off my firewall, checked to make sure itunes was allowed in my internet options. what else can i do?
