Weblog and Wiki errors

I restarted my server and now when I try to use my blog I get this message:
"404: User is not allowed a Weblog"
Also, the wiki/groups page says there are no wikis, but when I type in the path it goes to it with no problem and all the data is still there.
These were working fine before the restart and I used them. Now I have these problems. Any ideas?

After using 10.3 Server and 10.4 Server, I think 10.5 Server really wasn't ready for prime time yet. I had a real headache getting it installed and functioning with just the basics. I would do the exact same steps and each time I did an install something else would be broken right off the bat. After I got things going, I have had situations like this pop up three times now with this one not working even after reboots and such. It just stopped working for no reason.
Has anyone else has this issue or am I just having a long run of horrid luck with this version?

you didnt seem to have configured the datasource / connection pool / database control with proper db properties
you should check your configuration to see if you have done it right and then you should check your application and the properties settings in the controls to ensure they are right.

  • Leopard Server 10.4 Blogs/Wiki and Safari error with www alias and Log Out

I have a Leopard Server 10.5 setup with dns and web services including blogs and wikis setup. If I browse to http://hostname.domain.com/users using Safari 5.0.1, I see that the session is not logged in (i.e. Log Out is not visible. I can login and create a blog and logout with no issue. I can do this on Firefox and Camino as well.
Now, if I browse to http://www.domain.com/users however... the Log Out button is visible all the time in Safari 5.0.1 only - Firefox and Camino show the correct status of a non logged in session. In Safari 5.0.1 it is not possible to login to post or create a blog WHEN the www.domain.com url is used.
I have rebuilt Leopard server twice on a physical and a virtual machine for testing and can reproduce the exact same error. It's a mix of using www.domain.com and Safari. Any other browser works fine and ALL browsers work fine with any other alias pointing to the same site, including hostname.domain.com
Testing on Safari 5.0.1 on the server itself works fine. Testing on clients was on 10.6 and 10.5 and was performed on 4 separate client machines. Browsing on the server was fine but browsing on any client would produce the error when using www.domain.com.
If anyone can offer any suggestions, please help!

I tried several new approaches, but nothing worked so far.
The update to 10.5.5 made things worse. Connections are dropping all over the place, when saving from Adobe programs in particular.
Printing from clients to a Xerox Phaser 5500 works, but choosing a different paper size than the default chosen in the cups admin interface goes all wrong and either prints on the default paper size, but down/upscaled to the chosen paper size or prints on the chosen paper size and down/upscaled as if you were printing to the default paper size. (e.g. default paper size is A4, you choose A3 with an A3 document. Document prints on A4 and is downscaled to A4, or prints on A3 and is downscaled to A4.)
There is no way I can keep this thing in production much longer. I tried reinstalling again, but that did not change any behaviour. Another nice "feature": InDesign disables "edit original" when the path to the linked file contains any directoryname with more than 8 characters in length.
Coupled with a sometimes disappearing "dirserv" (it just stops working until I reboot the whole computer) the decision stands to move away from the Xserve.
Leopard Server 10.5.x just does not seem to work well with windows clients.
We will migrate to a windows server 2003 running ExtremZ-IP for the macintosh clients this weekend. Too bad that Apple does not allow Bootcamp to work on Xserves, at least the hardware would have been useful then.
(As a nice finishing touch, the harddisk partition where all data resides did become corrupt over the weekend. "The volume Daten could not be repaired."
Disk Utility and first aid did show nothing on friday ... saturday after no work being done on the partition this error shows up. The only solution I could find was to reformat the partition and restore from a previous backup. Another weekend down the drain. Sorry for the rant, but 6 weekends in a row is enough.)

  • My 1st CFDISK partitioning and mountpoints - Is there a WIKI error?

    Hi....
I have a single drive laptop and want to use the FIRST 32 gig of the drive for ARCH. I managed ti do a manual partitioning and filesystem mountpoints though it seems wrong somehow. I also have one question. I have 3 gig of ram.
WIKI ERROR? or - explanation needed:
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beg … ition_Info
I tried to follow the partitioning and mountpoints parts exactly though got VERY confused.
Here's what I ended up with during the install phase:
        Device:Type:Mountpoint:Format
        dev/sda2:swap:swap:yes
        dev/sda1:ext2:yes
        dev/sda3:ext2:boot:yes
And here's what my menu.lst looks like now that I'm running at least:
        /dev/fd0    (fd0)
        /dev/hda    (hd0)
        /dev/hdb2    (hd1,1)
        /dev/hda3    (hd0,2)
I did NOT do exactly what the WIKI said as this seemed wrong... to me anyways... hehehe
I hope and figure it's me that was wrong.. what are the chances of that! :--)
FIRST OF ALL I DID GET THIS DONE with cfdisk:
    sda1    Boot       Primary     Linux                             10240 #root
    sda2               Primary     Linux swap / Solaris              1024  #swap
    sda3               Primary     Linux                             26480 #home
THEN I got confused setting the mountpoints:
The guide says: First you will be asked for your swap partition. Choose the appropriate partition (sda3 in this example).
    I THOUGHT the swap was sda2 !!!!!
    Then later it says:
You will now be prompted to add any additional partitions. In our example, only sda2 is remaining. Choose a filesystem type and mount it as /home.
    ANYWAYS...
My objective is to have the most LOGICAL smallest number of partitions... OD I have to have 3 PHYSICAL partitions? Is that the best idea? I'm interested in best practices with thoughts of backups, reinstalls of boot or whatever, without risking data etc.
Can anyone tell me how I got so confused???
My first attempt to follow the beginners partitioning mountpoints guide failed, so the second time I just did what I THOUGHT would work... It did.. though at the top here you can see what my menu.lst etc. looks like... seems wrong or at least NOT the most logical...
    Any pointers etc. greatly appreciated!!!!

I think the wiki is correct but the distinctions between the steps are perhaps not as clear as they could be.  The whole partitioning paragraph is actually:
First you will be asked for your swap partition. Choose the appropriate partition (sda2 in this example). You will be asked if you want to create a
swap filesystem; select yes. Next, choose where to mount the / (root) directory (sda1 in the example). You will be asked what kind of filesystem you want.
< Descriptions of the different Filesystem Types cut >
Choose and create the filesystem (format the partition) for / by selecting yes. You will now be prompted to add any additional partitions. In our example, only sda3 is remaining. Choose a filesystem type and mount it as /home. Again, create the filesystem and choose Done. Return to main menu.
The final three sentences shoule perhaps be seperated:
Choose and create the filesystem (format the partition) for / by selecting yes.
You will now be prompted to add any additional partitions. In our example, only sda3 is remaining. Choose a filesystem type and mount it as /home.
Again, create the filesystem and choose Done. Return to main menu.
So, following the example the order of mount operations is:
    swap partition, filesystem 'swap' (/dev/sda2)
    / partition, filesystem [ext3|reiser3/JFS etc] (/dev/sda1)
    Any other partitions e.g.
    /home, filesystem [ext3|reiser3/JFS etc] (/dev/sda3)
I can't see any mention of /dev/sda3 = /boot in the wiki aside from the auto-partition description

  • IPlanet 6.0 plug-in write_error and read_timeout errors

I'm having a lot of trouble with read timeouts and write errors in my production
environment. The environment is composed of two IPlanet web servers with one cluster
of two machines using Weblogic. The details follows:
Operating System (all machines): SunOS 5.8
WebLogic machines: WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2
JVM Java HotSpot Client VM build 1.3.1_01,
    mixed mode
IPlanet machines: iPlanet WebServer Enterprise 6.0 SP4
    Solaris VM (build Solaris_JDK_1.2.2_10,
    native threads, sunwjit)
The iPlanet machines work as a redirector of requests. All requests that reach
them get redirected to the WebLogic cluster, via a plugin installed on both machines.
My problem is that a lot of read timeout/write error problems are occuring in
this process, in various situations. The majority happens while trying to fetch
static resources, but there are cases the error occurs while trying to access
    web server applications.
From the IPlanet log, I selected the following errors, as examples:
    Static resources:
[23/Mar/2004:00:05:06] failure ( 7877): for host 200.100.227.193 trying to GET
    /weblogic/services/images/torpedo_bg.gif, wl-proxy reports: exception occurred

    Applications:

/weblogic/services/smsmtresult.jsp, wl-proxy reports: exception occurred for backend

[os error=22,  line 198 of Reader.cpp]: no read after 300 seconds'
The log sometimes shows an interesting message also:
[23/Mar/2004:00:19:53] warning ( 8202): The server configuration may require more
file descriptors than the operating system provides. If you encounter PR_PROC_DESC_TABLE_FULL_ERROR
errors, you may wish to increase the operating system hard file descriptor limit
from 10633 to 10637 (see your operating system documentation) or decrease one
or more of the following settings: MaxFiles in nsfc.conf and ConnQueueSize, RqThrottle,
    and MaxKeepAliveConnections in magnus.conf.
I've also checked the Weblogic nodes log, just to see if I could find an explanation
to those problems. No problems were logged at the time the IPlanet reported them.
I don't have any idea right now that could explain what's happening. Maybe the
Weblogic cluster is not providing the necessary resources in time? Or is there
something I could change in the IPlanet's configuration so that the frequency
    of the errors diminish?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot for your time,
    Alexandre

    Hello Folks
    In the obj.conf
You need to set this one in your context
    I have an example below
    <Object name="test" ppath="*/test/*">
    Service fn="wl_proxy" WebLogicCluster="172.17.10.100:7001,172.17.10.101:7001" KeepAliveEnabled="false" PathTrim="" ErrorPage="/Web/html/error.html"
    </Object>
    Trust this one helps
    Cheers

  • Unable to resolve Wiki "Error Reading Settings"

I am running the newer 2.2.1 version of the Server.app.   I am still having the dreaded Error Reading Settings error dropdown box when launching the Server.appl.  Profile Manager is and always has been running fine.
    Here's what I have done:
Trashed Server.app and entire Library/Server folder.  Moved app back and re-built.  Wiki Error reading settings message still there.
Did same as above but with trashing the Server.app and re-downloading a fresh copy.  Same result.
Did the "last resort" of trashing the Server and Library/Server folder and ran the WipeDB script as per Apple's request.   Had to set up all of Profile Manager again (no easy way to back up and restore Profile Manager database at all) and Wiki still states Error reading Settings!
Unfixable in my case?   Anyone have any other ideas because wiping the database again is not a viable option and did not resolve the issue the first time.

I also found out postgres isin't running
    postgres:error = "CANNOT_START_SERVICE_TIMEOUT_ERR"
and wiki has an error too
    wiki:state = "RUNNING"
    wiki:error = "CANNOT_MALLOC_ERR"

    Hi,
For WLS version 9.2 there is a Fix Available for the same issue : CR309671 Please contact Oracle support to get the Patch (CR309671).
After BEA/Oracle integration the Patch Naming convention is changed so to get the TAR version of the Patch Number u need to contact Oracle Support.

  • Application is throwing NSAPI and other errors after the migration

We started seeing NSAPI and other errors after the migration of new codes and recently make some changes
    1) During the migration, all the 4 WLS cluster instances were bounced simultaneously. What is the best practice and recommendation from BEA Oracle? Do we need to bounce it one by one for any specific reason?
    2) we recently introduced the 4th weblogic cluster instance on Solaris 10 zone. All other WLS instances are running on Solaris 8.
Is it okay to have two different OS versions( Solaris 8 and Solaris 10) and different hardware to host WLS cluster instances? Does BEA Oracle support this kind of configuration?
    3) We are consistently seeing below errors in the iplanet web server error logs even though site is working fine

Do we need to upgrade our WLS proxy plugin? . Current version of WLS proxy plug-in is libproxy_61.so. Our Weblogic version is WLS 92 MP2
I'll really appreciate if some can anwsers those questions

OK booted in to Virtualbox, seems too be working fine this way, maybe it is the ATi drivers

    Hi,
If no other weblogic serverss installed on that machine, then you could delete the registry key corresponding to the old installation.
It seems you are using windows.
click start button-->Run-->type 'regedit' without quotes and then search for the key weblogic and delete that key.
*Please make sure you will have a backup of registry keys.
presee CTRL + F and type weblogic and click next and find a key smiliar to this below.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\BEA Products
select the BEA Products folder lefthandside and delete that.
remove BEA products shortcut from start menu and reboot your machine once and then try installing weblogic server.
    Thanks

  • MDB deployed in WebLogic and Queues in IBM MQ

    Hi all,
I have a MDB which is deployed in Weblogic 10.0 and created queues in IBM MQ 6. The state of MDB is active. But its not picking up the messages from the Queue. And there is no expection thrown also in the Web Logic log file.
To test the MQ series binding file, i created a standalone client, which puts and picks the message. It works fine.If I stop the MQ, Weblogic is throwing error and if I change the Manager name or Connection factory name in binding file, Weblogic throwing error. So its able to get connection.
And the MDB if deployed in OC4J, picks the messages and processes. So MDB also working fine. So I think i have missed out some configuration. Can anyone tell what i have missed out.
Please help me out in this.
    Thanks in advance.

Does your MDB require transactions ? If so you need to XA enable the connection factory. Looks like you are using a transactional MDB with non XA connection factory.

i restarted weblogic server but the error was remain there, also restarted my network card but nothing would happen, then i had to restart my database but again nothing happens, then i had toi restart my entire server and the error resolves. This was happened to me many times and i had to do the same activity for resolving that issue. i deployed apex.war in it, already changed its xml file location from temp tp my d drive.
will any one help what it means ?
and how to overcome from this error

This is not a PL/SQL error. And from the sounds of it, not even an Oracle database related error.
Apex is a suite of PL/SQL software. Apex is in other words, tables, views, synonyms and stored procedure code. That is it.
For a web server to make an Oracle database call, a web server module is needed to
    a) service a URL
    b) convert the URL into a database call
    c) connect to the database and make the call
    d) read the HTP PL/SQL buffer via a 2nd database call
    e) send that HTML response buffer to the web browser client
I assume that this is what that apex.jar is suppose to do - and fails to do correctly for whatever reason. I prefer not to use Java in this way, and have used for over a decade the mod_plsql Apache web server module interface. It is reliable. It is robust. It is mature. It is easier to use IMO as this is standard Apache and not some silly convoluted XML and Java gunk.
The error "+No more data to read from socket+" is not really an error message. It simply says that a socket read was done and there was no data to read. This is not an error. Unless the reader expected data to read from the socket.
Bottom line. Unfortunately you are on the wrong side of OTN raising your problem - as your problem does not show any database side, never mind SQL or PL/SQL side, problems. The error as far the database/Apex side is concerned, is on the client (weblogic/jar) side.

Many thanks for the response however I tried to re-instll my grid control after the process of installing the weblogic and it still fails to recognise the ports.
I have greapped for all port ranges for the EM Upload port:
