Weblogic 10.3.5 how to install JRF/ADF?

I am trying to migrate from OC4J 10.1.3 to Weblogic 10.3.5.
In the one application, we make heavy use of some BC4J classes - for example:
oracle.jbo.ViewObject
What jar file in Fusion Middleware contains this class?
What is the appropriate way to set up ADF for Weblogic 10.3.5?
I am using the Weblogic Stand-Alone 10.3.5 server for development.
I created my domain using the ant task:
weblogic.ant.taskdefs.management.WLServer
When I use the config.cmd from my Weblogic Stand-Alone 10.3.5 (dev\wls1035_dev\wlserver\common\bin), I don't have options to add the Java Required Files (JRF).
Using this doc (with correct screenshot):
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/e14140/configuration_screens.htm#CIHCAEEJ
When I use the config.cmd from my Fusion Middleware Weblogic 10.3.5 (Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\common\bin), I have the options.
Is it possible to perform ADF development in the Weblogic Stand-alone env?
Any pointers, help, or insight is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

just my 2 cents: I would be extremely worried having more than 100 active threads, but this is only a rule of thumb, it depends really on your applications. Where ar all your 400 threads waiting/running ? I would assume that most of them are in a wait state, blocked by something else...

  • How to install OSB, ADF and BI Bublisher together on WLS?

    Hi,
    We have to install OSB, ADF, BI Bublisher and the Oracle Service Registry together on an Oracle Weblogic Server. We have tried different strategies regarding the order to install the
    components in and the number of domains, but are struggling with getting it to work.
    There must be a best practice for the order to install the components in and a preferred way to distributed the components in domains. We have not found any documentation that describe
    this.
    Can anybody help?
    Here are the versions of the components:
    - WLS 10.3.0.0
    - OSB 10gR3
    - ADF The one that comes with JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.1
    - BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.0

    Hi,
    I am trying to install Oracle ADF runtime for Websphere. I downloaded the installer from this link http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1.zip
    When I extract and run the installer, I do not see the option for "Application Server Screen" where I am supposed to be able to select websphere option.

  • How to install TopLink_CMP_2_0 for Weblogic 10.3.4 (11g Release 1)

    Hi
    I am trying to migrate EJB2.x code from JBoss to Weblogic 10.3.4.
    The entity bean description in my weblogic-ejb.jar looks like below.
    <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    <ejb-name>UserProfile</ejb-name>
    <entity-descriptor>
    <persistence>
    <persistence-use>
    <type-identifier>WebLogic_CMP_RDBMS</type-identifier>
    <type-version>7.0</type-version>
    <type-storage>META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml</type-storage>
    </persistence-use>
    </persistence>
    </entity-descriptor>
    <local-jndi-name>ejb/LocalUserProfile</local-jndi-name>
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    I get error Error while reading 'META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml' when deploying to server as I posted in another thread at Error in deploying entity beans - migration from JBoss to Weblogic 10.3.4
    The information on the page http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_05/web.1013/b13593/depcr008.htm tells that the supported persistent type for EJB2.0 is TopLink_CMP_2_0.
    When I modify above entity description accordingly, the deployment throws exception that "*TopLink_CMP_2_0*" is not installed.
    Can someone suggest me how to install the persistent type? Also please let me know if my approach to migration is correct.

  • How to install Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal?

    Hi All,
    I am new to Weblogic Portal. I would like to start learning Oracle Weblogic Portals..
    Can anyone please guide me, how to install Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal?
    As per the ""Tutorials – Getting Started with WebLogic Portal"" (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/tutorials/setup_dev_env.html)
    we need to install the Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal.
    Please suggest me where should i get the required environments/IDE?
    Thanks,
    Harish.

    Hi Harish
    1. If this is your first time with Weblogic Portal, I would recommend to download the latest Weblogic Portal Software Rel 10.3.2 from this bottom link. Check Accept Radio button, for windows download windows installer. Its about 1 GB file. This software includes Eclipse IDE, Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/wlp/index.html
    2. During the installation process, make sure at one point you select Custom mode (NOT default Typical mode). In next following screens you will see all bundles checked EXCEPT for Samples. So make sure you check Samples Check box both under Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal. Then proceed. This will install full Weblogic Workshop (Eclipse IDE), Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal. This is the good installation package. Also it will install samples for Portal and Server. If you select all default typical mode, it will NOT install samples. You can install samples later on also, but its good at installation time itself you select custom and check Samples also.
    3. WLP 10.3.2 uses Eclipse IDE. If you are familiar with Eclipse IDE this should be helpful. Otherwise also, its ok.
    4. For learning WLP, in Eclipse IDE, you need to create Portal EAR Project, then Portal Web Project. Inside portal web project create simple jsp hello world portlets and a simple portal.
    5. For Deploying and Testing Portal application you need to create Portal Domain using config wizard. You can see this from Start -> Programs -> Oracle Weblogic Portal shortcut -> Weblogic Server -> Tools -> Configuration Wizard.
    6. You can start Workshop IDE from Start -> Program Files -> Oracle Weblogic Portal ...-> Eclipse For Weblogic 10.3.2
    Here are the links for quick start guide for portal development. Please do refer them.

    Yes, they can. They installed in different directories and you have to use different ports.
    AFAIK for HTTP for APEX is either part of the installation (eg. in the Oracle Express Edition) or part of the Oracle Installation CDs. For more information see the Oracle Installation Documentation.

    Hi,
    If you want to install WebLogic 10.3.2 using Generic Jar then u can use any JDK1.5 or JDK1.6.
    But Always remember that JDK1.5 is not in supported Configuration with WebLogic 10.3.2. So it is always recommended and best practice that while Installing the WebLogic 10.3.2 using Generic Jar in your Box....you should have the JDK 1.6.x (64 Bit) installed in your Box already.

  • How to install Window service for Managed Servers of a Cluster

    Dear All,
              I am preparing a production setup consist of three machines A,B and C. Machines A is the Admin Server which hosts a cluster consist of two managed nodes. I intend to schedule both these nodes, targeted to two different machines (machines B node-b and machine C host node-c), as startup task on daily basis. I have no Node Manager running on machine A, but on machine B and machine C.
              I am only interested to schedule started task for node-b and node-c only. I need to know how to install the Windows services for the node-b and node-c since there are targeted on remote machines. Starting managed server as Win sevice works in the case of standalone managed servers but not sure when it comes to cluster setup.I appreciate if you can throw some light on this question.
              Thanks
              Kris

    Krish,
              >Let say I gracefully shutdown both managed servers while >Admin is running. Do you think both these nodes while be >brought up ? I dont think they will come up.
              If you require an automatic restart when the managed server did not enter a failed state you can use the weblogic.Admin utility to ping the servers and kick off a server startup in the normal way with nodemanger see:
              http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/admin_ref/cli.html
              http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/adminguide/confignodemgr.html
              If your servers entered a failed state you can use weblogics self health monitoring.
              >Can we use JMX MBean to start managed servers ?
              Yes.
              As long as the nodemanagers are running you can start the managed servers using scripted commands using the weblogic.Admin class or your own java app using JMX.
              I think you may also be able to use WLST
              http://dev.bea.com/codelibrary/code/wlst.jsp
              hope this helps

    I have a problem about installing my struts application into web server..
    I can run my application under eclipse websphere development studio 5.0 web server but I don't know How I install it a real webserver (Apche,Unix,Tomcat or etc.) under location something like " http://cmpe.emu.edu.tr/ " .
    I have small exprerinece about web servers.. So if you can state your answers clearly, I'll be really grateful...
    Ergin DEMIREL
    Thanks in Advance..

    Web servers like Apache or M$ IIS serve up static HTLM content. They don't handle Java servlets/JSPs by default. You need a servlet/JSP engine for that. Tomcat is one. All J2EE-compliant app servers have one, too (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, etc.)
    If you're asking how to do it with Apache the answer is: bolt Tomcat on top of Apache. There are docs on the Tomcat site to tell you how to do that.

  • How to install WAS locally?

    Dear Experts.
    I would like to deploy and run Wedynpro Applications locally and I need to install local java WAS.
    Our central WAS is working under DMBS MS SQL Server, but local installation MS SQL Server on Windows XP is impossible. So, I decided to connect local WAS to central  MS SQL Server.
    When I had started sapinst.exe and filled preinstallation settings the installation process has interrupt with
    exception: Connection with  MS SQL Server error.
    Probably, it has occurred due to the security policy because all "unusable" ports in our company are closed.
    So, is it possible to install java WAS with other DMBS or is there any other problem issue?

    If you have installed the Preview edition of MiniWAS 6.20 or one of the 640 versions then you have the WAS system?
    If you are asking how to install this then check out this weblog.
